Wincing in sympathy, Zahneel waited a moment before charging back in, taking the time to stretch and do her best to study the barrier. There had to be a trick to it, given how many other had made it across already.
"Well, time to try again," she said before heading back in. However, it was absolutely no surprise at all when she found herself staring at the tree again.

"Not really," Zahneel agreed. The frustration was more apparent in Bebe's voice and the grimm wished she could manage to say or do something to make the older girl feel better about the situation.
Still even as they went through the barrier again and again came out beside the painted tree, she couldn't help the low, frustrated growl that escaped her.

Tambre couldn't help but nod, completely agreeing with Bridgette. She slicked back a piece of hair that had fallen in her face (at least she hoped it was her own hair, it was hard to see in the darkness). "Anyone being injured is terrible, I'm glad more wasn't hurt." She tilted her head slightly, considering the statement. "I have training in the medical field, mostly combat/field training, so I'm not as good as a real doctor, but I can perform some operations if it's needed. I figured it was a good thing to have before I went into the military." Well, now that she thought about it, she hadn't exactly mentioned that she had been in the military before becoming a police officer.
"No reason to thank me." She stated, she never was good with any sort of praise, but still, she was glad that Bridgette was alright and doing well. "I hope they have, I feel bad that I can't help whoever is left to get through..." She nibbled her lip, hoping nothing had happened to those who hadn't made it through just yet.

Patches really should have known better. But when you grow up with the ability to see ghosts sometimes you confuse real individuals with them! She felt just awful for knocking Azure down and scrambled to help him back us as he actually seemed to be more concerned about her. She had a rather pouty look on her face when she responded.
"I'm fine and I'm so, so sorry! I watch a few too many scary movies and this is the result!" She dusted Azure's shoulder off, more as a display of her remorse than because there was actually something there. She turned her attention to Nashira than.
"Oh no, I should have known better. I'm just a little anxious now is all..." She took in a deep breathe and let it out smoothly. "It is good to see you again though and it looks like we're all slowly starting to make our way through the barrier at least."

Xerxes blinked, surprised when the nixie touched his chest and then jerked her hand away. What was with people and their need to touch others. When she turned away he shrugged and shook his head. There was no sense in dwelling on it too long. There was a task at hand and the quicker they got moving, the quicker it would be over. He followed behind the other nightmare, tail twitching back and forth as he waited for the inevitable barrier that he’d met with on his attempt. When the nixie wasn’t stopped, Xer raised an eyebrow and stepped forward, along with her, and was relieved that he wasn’t met with any sort of resistance.
Xerxes’ eyes widened and he struggled to see through the fog. Every now and then he saw lights flash in and out of view — the lamps and flashlights of the other nightmares and daydreams he supposed. When a hand landed on his shoulder, Xerxes couldn’t help but jump and give a soft yelp as his heart tried to beat out of his chest. “What on earth…” he mumbled as he glanced to the source of the hand and frowned. “You scared me,” Xer said as his eyes fell onto the person he’d been tied to for this part of the trip.

Altenately growling and whining softly from frustration, Zahneel glared at the barrier. THen, she turned a gimlet eye towards her partner.
"We are getting through this thing one way or another."
With that, she marched back in with Bebe and felt the all too familiar pressure of the barrier against her body. Then, strangely, the pressure began to ease and Zahneel suddenly found herself in the dark with not a single painted tree in view.
"I... we...?" she stammered before turning to her partner and grinning. "I think we made it through, Bebe! I can smell Claire and Neptune. Let's go find them!"

Kalec went about his way climbing up the hill, but he slipped slightly and managed to slice his hand open deeply on a jagged rock. Kalec quickly wrapped his hand with some cloth from his pack and sighed, He had grown careless since his time in the military. Finally, he made it through the short climb still chiding himself for bumbling up such a simple task. He caught up with the group and heard he is paired with the younger nightmare. Kalec hears the nightmares statement about this sucking and quietly chuckles to himself. He begins to readjust his bandages on his hand then feels a tug on the rope that they were bound, Kalec looks up and sees that the young nightmare has already found how to pass through the barrier. "I'm impressed. " he says to the young nightmare."Sorry for the delay had to rewrap my hand."

The pink Geist pouted when she was separated from Ghester, especially since he was injured, but she didn't let any of that show on her face as she was tied to a Nightmare she had never met before. Oh! She brightened at the opportunity to make a new friend and smiled back. "We should!" she said and dug her flashlight out of her bag. It was, of course, just as pink as the Geist but it was shaped like a fennekit and made cute little barking noises when she squeezed the handle to turn it on.
"Let's go!" she said with a giggle.

Bridgette looked back at Tambre not completely sure if she was nodding or not since it was so dark. She nodded her head too and smiled. "Yeah. I'm sad anyone was injured but it could have been worse. Im just glad there were no serious injuries or anything life threatening." That would be terrible if someone had sustained a life threatening injury. She listened to Tambre and was really curious about everything she was say. "Oh that was so smart. That sounds like it would be really useful for the military. That's so smart to have gained those skills and I'm sure they will be really helpful on this journey. What you know is better than nothing so don't sell yourself short." Seemed Tambre really liked to help people. It was so admirable and remarkable.
She shrugged. "Alright. If you're sure. It was just kind what you did." She didn't press the issue since she didn't want to make Tambre feel uncomfortable. She swished her ears around trying to pick up more sounds. "I know how you feel. I wish we could hell the others get through. I'm sure they will figure out how to get through. I just hope it doesn't take them too long. I know if I was stuck trying to find my way for a really long time I'd start to worry. I just hope the rest make it through soon." She started to chew on her lip too and look around wondering if anyone else had made it through.
