Curling his hands around his knees and pulling his legs in close to his chest watching the flames burn the last fragments of the logs he had thrown into the fire before. Another medicine for bulbasaur putting her at 46 hp..
...the air was still warm here but there was also a cool breeze. She couldn't smell anything like ocean water.. maybe this came down from a mountain. But where did it go? She'd squint a bit, it was kindof dark down here... there was something in the water definitely but she wasn't really in good enough shape to just get in fights with whatever, especially without her pokemon being in top shape. She thought she'd head back when she realized that maybe there was someone there who needed help. "IS ANYONE IN HERE!" her voice echoed deeper into the well. Actually that's right it was a well! Even if someone was in danger there'd be fresh water and well... You couldn't live off slowpoke tail but it would work out for a while plus there seemed to be fish.
Looking back she noticed there was something that wasn't there before near the stalagmite. A slowpoke had become curious after seeing Sakiko stare at it. Did it not notice that it was there the whole time.. well it was a slowpoke...... its head turned slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly to stare at sakiko. It seemed to have this sort of slow motion burning curiousity in its eyes. She had to battle it!

Once the two seemed to understand that at least something was happening.. the slowpoke seemed mostly aware maybe........................ "um.. just quick attack, speed should be a big advantage here!" Ratatta used its quick attack gave slowpoke a good bite! But slowpoke just seemed to ignore it and get sleepy??? Well then again it always looked sleepy... But so was ratatta now! "Lets finish this, don't be fooled it probably just doesn't know its in pain yet" Yes, this was kindof like fighting something like a drugged patient. They couldn't rely on the physical response of the opponent to guide their strategy and find a weakpoint. Hopefully she was right and ratatta wouldn't end up like spearow. Ratatta used quick attack again! Slowpoke just seemed to ignore it again...

It had been an odd trip.. but it was time to get back, it seemed an early defensive strategy would have been the best strategy for adventuring like this.. or just stronger potions. But as pokemon got stronger she noted that knocking them out also took a lot more work, how much stronger could they become actually...
Sakiko would make her way back to the pokecenter to have her pokemon healed so she could take meowith and zo back to yukie after meeting them. While in town she would switch out spearow for slowpoke and add zubat to the team... as awkward as they were they seemed useful and what were the odds she could find a zubat and a slowpoke living so close to one another, afterall they seem to belong to two different worlds of species... Or maybe both were just too strange to categorize so easily. Zubat didn't even seem to have eyes, wasn't his pokemon known to use mean look???

She'd wake up in the tent to find Yukie had gone somewhere with some of the stuff. Well Yukie did pay for most of it and she was near the town. She wished Yukie had left a note or something but that wasn't really realistic was it... She would make her way back over to the place where all the zubats had been to observe and see what they were after perhaps.
She wouldn't find anything.. a lot of eaten plants but nothing of great interest or anything she could even prove was necessarily normal. She go around just to map out the area with her eyes somewhat. The natural environment here was very interesting, like a forest leading to the beach, it was like one of those tropical fantasies only there didn't seem to be anything tropical about these trees or weather, it was probably for the best though. Heading back to camp to check one more time what she had available she pondered moving it closer to town but this posed two disadvantages. One, Yukie might return and get lost. Two, she didn't want to disturb TWO different locations with her gear and camping.
She was just going to have to get some exercise in it looked like. Not being realistic her eyebrows lifted a little on her usual mostly blank expression.. She touched her thighs and butt and wondered if she would get toned and taller from all this walking. She did some awkward modeling poses just dreaming a little but she didn't really have the sunny displacement for selling any product let alone giving off any *sparklesparkle* to make someone smile, not in this way anyways... She'd get a pan and some pokefood to try and make something with before going to stop by town to have her Poke-pad repaired.

On the way back down the mountain.. she'd find herself in a small opening in the forest. It was a nice weather despite the light drizzle.. was it a drizzle or was the forest stopping her from experiencing something bigger? She'd stop a moment looking around... something wasn't right!
Suddenly a man with a machete dripping with a dark crimson liquid and a hockey mask covered in the same substance approached... She waved... He waved back and stopped to mumble something angrily as he approached with labored steps.
She looked to see if he could mean anything else and saw a man with a striped shirt and clawlike fingers.... In another direction she saw a clown.. A CLOWN IN THE FOREST!!!
But all three would freeze in terror as something came quickly.. what could it have been! Sakiko straightened her glasses and saw the jungle growing dark... MORE ZUBATS!!! The 4 of them hurried into town where the kids were throwing strange nonsweet foods that some of the local grannies were giving out for the holidays, this was candy season afterall nobody wanted that stuff.. except perhaps the zubats... Why hadn't she thought of this before.. Humans were the missing link here weren't they, they brought unnatural things here and attracted different pokemon types! How old was this village though???

She stopped by the local pokecenter and mart again seeking some tools to repair her poke'pad. It looked like it wouldn't be too much trouble but she'd need some precision tools. The screen wasn't cracked in a way she couldn't repair but she'd need a soldering tool as well.. "Ah! Kurt could help me there!" She could hear a little victory jingle in her head as she prepaired to go visit but of course she'd have to go after she had everything together.
She'd go get some simple things for testing in the Mart and replace her charger since she had a little extra on her since Yukie had bought everything before. She'd head over to the pokecenter and borrow their outlets and some tools they had. With this she'd be able to take the Pokepad apart and begin working on it with Porygon Z helping her diagnose anything she could power up with the extra batteries she purchased. Turned out he too preferred having a working screen to look at while gaming.. somehow... Sakiko was actually curious how that worked.

It was getting late so she would have to wait till the next day to go to kurts place but the repair was a total success! Now was time to visit the Slowpoke again perhaps but she'd need to go prepare first of course. She'd get herself a flashlight App of course but she'd also need some pokemon repellent before that. She activated her pokepad and checked the weather.. it seemed like it would be ok for going into the well.
She went to the Mart again this time meeting kurt himself! heart She got a bit excited.. just a little bit. emotion_sweatdrop While trying to calm his fan down Kurt explained apricorns and stuff to her and told her to come by tomorrow to see what they could do about her pokepad. He also told her a little story about the town and the well. Nothing too important to her research but anything was gold coming from Kurt himself!

Sakiko made her way over to the well and down the steps.. she set up a little chart on a pokepad application and just started by gathering data. She'd need to get their weight but she couldn't.. She did have a little bit of string though.. were they supposed to use this in the tent perhaps??? She'd mark it and release slowpoke and make a sortof makeshift string ruler. She could at least get their size. Slowpoke stared and stalked "sloooowwwwwwwww" She didn't know it but her slowpoke was just now realizing it had been caught.
Sakiko measured slowpoke guessing it was about 3'11" and maybe 80 pounds?? She raised her eyebrows smiling watching its fascinating eye movements. It was picking up on everything it seemed like but it wasn't acting on anything for a long time. Pudgy but healthy probably.. Actually looking at the other one's slowpoke seemed kindof skinny. Was it an active lifestyle or nutrition? Sakiko took slowpoke with her deeper into the cave to see if it was any different from the others. From what she could see her slowpoke was easily more curious but physically it was a bit more lean rather than malnutrition based off speculation on its pinkness alone. It seemed this slowpoke had been active a lot.. her guess was that it fished perhaps or went out to go somewhere, she'd seen some that did this. Some just dozed off in the azalea town streets in fact.

Moments after observing interactions between the slowpokes Sakiko found some movement!! "Aha! There's a pattern.. they go slowly but tend to respond to one another more quickly! Except for that one" The slowpokes suddenly and slooowwwwwwly turned their head to look at sakiko. She entered the data furiously. The angle, the flexibility, THE SCIENCE, GOODNESS GRACIOUS THE GLORIOUS SCIENCE! She tried touching her slowpoke and another to compare the body heat to test an idea she had since they moved so little, it seemed a more active slowpoke had a slightly higher body temp... this didn't seem too shocking but maybe it could be useful. Which was the healthier temperature.. she forgot to go collect the data from the center.. maybe she could just look it up. Surely someone else had made some observations in an old place like this near the ruins and an old town... It looked like her slowpoke was not only the less healthy one but had a slight fever. Nothing drastic but perhaps it had been traveling rather than simply being active. "Where have you been exactly.." she checked slowpoke's paws and mouth.. She looked at the tail covered in sweat secretions and notice it smelled like.. like salt water? Well there was certainly water nearby and that would explain how it got a fever if it fell in but how did it get back???
After a bit of thinking she figured the best way to explain it was human interference.. Maybe some of those from azalea town also did something with the slowpoke. She had another look at her pokepad and found that this pokemon species actually had a long history alongside humanity and some other pokemon species. She'd have to go ask kurt about this later.

What was Yukie doing right now she wondered.. well anyways she made her way over to the camp using the pokemon repellant. She felt bad for the frequent travelers she'd pass by who had run out being chased by all the zubats. She was starting to get used to this route, she could definitely come back here on her own now. A nights rest and a one more trip to town. She came a bit unprepared this time but she'd definitely get good info out of this. Next she'd want to head up to goldenrod.
She would let her pokemon out for some snacks after she made enough mix and bake stuff for them.. she made it with the leftovers and some stuff she got from the mart. Luckily they all seemed to like this sort of thing except for Nosepass.... at first it seemed strange but then it seemed even stranger to see normal food infront of a rock to be eaten.. Pondering a bit she came to a realization and offered Nosepass some of the marbles he'd been traveling with. Nosepass ate them happily solving 1 mystery. She'd have to figure out what they were made of. Glassy and soft.. with some nontoxic coloring hopefully. So much to learn about just the few pokemon she had, it was a little overwhelming but it felt 1000% worth it!

That night after eating she'd have a look at her pokemon and the moves they knew how to use.. She wasn't certain if this was enough to safely travel just anywhere but surely she could make it to goldenrod at least.. Bulbasaur was the strongest and porygon had the strongest abilities she thought.. ratatta seemed to have a very strong speed advantage against anything around its level. If she could just come up with some sort of defensive advantage but she didn't have much for that. She did at least have a good variety of resistances and weakness exploitation though! This would perhaps be her advantage, if only she could get porygon z to obey her in battle. She'd have to win a badge to get it excited about this sort of thing.
She'd recall them all and head off to sleep until the morning, there was a lot to do the next day but she was certain she could get it done in a timely manner so she could make another trip to the well!

Morning time! Sakiko stretched and changed into a pretty much identical outfit because why not. She'd make her way back to town stopping to have a look at the ocean cliffs interested in seeing fishing boats as she made her way to azalea town again but she couldn't see much unless she did some climbing. Giving up on this she just headed over to Kurt's place. Kurt was hard at work and invited her to use his tools if she liked. So starstruck by the hard working craftsman though she offered to assist him some for the day in exchange.
She spent a bit of the day learning the old fashioned methods to do all sorts of things like making and polishing pokeballs and even some recipes for feeding rock pokemon!

Sakiko would have to go shortly after but he offered to make her some pokeballs if she came back with some apricorns. She'd seen a few bushes and there was the one yukie grew.. Ah, that's why yukie took all that stuff. A trade so to speak! Finished cleaning his nails Yukie opened the paint, a bright neon pink color, and began painting his toes before moving onto his hands. Starting with his pinkie and moving up before switching feet. The bright pink color toke two coatings to get nice and bright. Just the way he liked it. If he tried to make them bright in one coat then it would have taken twice as long to dry and would have wasted more paint then he needed.
