Annalicia doesn't notice Darian drying his tears as she is frowning and looking to Kitara. "Honey, are you sick? You love to eat what I make."
The blue haired elven lady shakes her head, "No, I'm fine, Aunt Annalicia. I'm just not hungry. I think that I had too many pieces of your homemade bread earlier today." 'That's not the case, Kitara and you know it,' she thinks to herself, glancing at her cousin, 'If only I could tell him that it's not due to him that I answered that way. No, I answered that way because that's how it came to mind. That's the only way that I could have said it without looking like an outcast....'

Darian, wanting to make use of the diversion his cousin created and make it not entirely in vain, fights back the tears and continues eating.
Gregory is worried about Kitara but knows that Annalicia is better with words than him and that he should let her handle finding out what was bothering Kitara.

"Kitara, something's up if you're not going to eat. You must be sick!" she says, standing up and going to her niece's side. She lays a hand on her forehead, Kitara sighing, before saying, "You don't even have a fever."
Kitara closes her eyes and sighs, "I'm not sick, Aunt Anna. Trust me, I know. Now, may I be excused?"

"Do you have any idea what's up with Kitara?" Gregory asks his son.
"Not a clue," Darian lies, knowing that Kitara would tell Gregory and Annalicia when she was ready.

All the attention of her aunt starts getting to Kitara and she moves away from the table (and her aunt) saying, "I'm done eating and I'm putting my dishes away in the sink. I'll work on them all later. However, Aunt Anna, sit down and finish your supper. We'll talk about this later, after supper."
Annalicia, steps back, a bit shocked. Kitara had never taken that sort of authority in the Moonleaf household. The blond elvish lady nods and sits back down, eating her supper in silence.

Kitara sets her dishes, and Jay's dishes, in the sink before leaving the kitchen and saying over her shoulder, "I'm going to sit down out on the back porch. Finish your meal and then I'll be in the mood to talk about this issue."
Annalicia watches her niece leave the room before turning to her son, "Do you have any idea why she's like that?"

"Not a clue." Darian lies. He hates having to lie to them but Kitara obviously did not want them to know until after supper. "I guess we'll find out once we finish eating though."

His mother glances at him, wondering if he was telling the truth, before turning to her piece of roast. She takes a piece and chews on it as she wonders what Kitara may be hiding.

Darian finishes the last of his meal in silence and sets his dishes in the sink before going out to the porch to talk to Kitara. He finds her sitting in one of the chairs, watching the sun set, with Jay perched on her shoulder. "What happened that caused you to react so uncharacteristicly?" he asks.

Kitara glances up at her cousin with a straight face, "I feel sick. Your mother's cooking's wonderful, but I can't take much right now. Also, her constant worry is something that I am not in the mood for right now. So, when she was persistant, I snapped."
Annalicia turns to her husband after Darian leaves and asks, "What's going on, Greg?"

"Beats me." Gregory replies. "They didn't tell me anything more than they told you." Gregory shakes his head. What happened to the days when this family had told each other everything? he wonders to himself.
"You probably felt sick because you're pregnant." Darian replies. "I'm sure once they know what's going on they won't hold it against you."

Kitara shrugs, "Could be. I really don't know, though. All I know is that my emotions are fried right now."
Jay chirps up something, ending with the words, "Be right back." He leaves the porch, flying over to the small house a bit away from the main Moonleaf house.
Annalicia finishes her food but sits across from her husband. She waits for him to finish as she thinks about the possible causes of Kitara's behavior.

Elvini sighs, closing her eyes, "Once I'm able to tell Aunt Anna and Uncle Greg, my emotions should be going down..."
Jay, the blue haired bluejay-elf, walks out of the smaller house, carrying a sweater for Kitara. He comes up through the backyard and comes up to porch. He hands the sweater to her and takes a seat, seated right by her. After Kitara puts the sweater on, Jay takes her in his arms and holds her close. She closes her eyes, resting in his arms.
Annalicia stands up, takes Greg's dishes when he finishes and brings all of them to the sink. "Greg, I think we need to have this talk with Kitara. Something's up that she has to tell us."
