"What if you get hurt...? I'm just gonna die anyways... aren't we postponing the inevitable? It's too much trouble for you..." She stopped talking as a wave of dizziness swept over her and her breathing became ragged. "...you're the same... you're gonna leave... just like him..." Hikari slumped to the side, unable to fight to stay awake any longer and unconsciousness took over.

"Oh, no, your Reyvateil looks really sick. Is there a problem with her Cosmosphere?" A young Teru girl of about fifteen approached the two inside the shop. "I guess there would be, since you guys are here." She rolled her eyes. "Dumb question by me, I guess." She nodded to the Dive Pods behind her. "I run 100 leaf per level, here. So say you're diving into a level 2 Cosmosphere, it'll be 200 leaf. You can pay me afterwards." She crossed her arms. "Totally up to you though."

"Awwright! Connecting the frequencies. Measuring the waves and oooofffff ya go!" She pressed a few buttons and activated the terminal before her. Immediately everything went dark as she initiated the dive sequence.


Messed-up Music

Nothing but darkness surrounded Gannon. Suddenly, static and noise started up, and tremors could be felt and heard everywhere.

Then, she appeared.



"Warning! Warning! Dangerous entity! Danger! Danger!" She stopped and gave Gannon a cold stare before speaking. "Oh, it's you. Threat located." She raised her bow and arrow, shooting an arrow off at the heavens only to have it come crashing down on the unlucky Teru before her. "Arrow of Purification!" She shouted. "Threat eliminated."

CRITICAL DOWN

The world around him blurred but came into focus as the Dive Shop keeper's face appeared before him.

"Man oh man, Sir! You okay!?" She shook her head and nodded at her watch. "5 second dive rejection. I think that's a new record for me." She sighed. "I don't charge for failures. I dunno what happened in there but luckily I pulled you before things got sticky. You gonna go again?"

"All right." The shopkeeper turned more serious this time around. "I'm gonna be watching really closely. If I see something like a critical down happening again I'm pulling you immediately. That last time was waaay too close for mine, or rather, your comfort." She nodded. "Testing waves, frequencies, all right, off you go." She pressed the button once again, sending Gannon on his way into the uncharted territories.

Cosmosphere Level 3
Messed-up Music



Immediately upon his re-entering, Priestess Seles stood there before Gannon. She sighed. "Do you think I like killing you or something?" She raised the bow again. "Whattaya want!?" She snapped. "Contrary to popular belief just because I'm the guard system does not mean I like loading people up with arrows all day long. You must really like pain. Now state your purpose before I boot you again. I don't have all day you know!" She gestured to the crumbling world around them. "I'm a little busy if you couldn't tell!" When the ground shook, she yelped and immediately shot off her arrow at a shadowy object behind them, causing it to dissipate.

"Cutie!? I'll have you know that I am the guardian here, Priestess Seles." She shook her head and glared at him. "So now you reveal your true self. I knew it all along! If you want so badly to dive, why don't you just find your wife and dive into her?" She snapped at him. "By diving, you're only hurting us. Hikari's already grown too close to you. She already has feelings for you! It has to stop. Now. Once this Server goes down, whether she wants to live or not won't matter. She's going to die. And these dumb dives are merely stringing her along in false hopes. Even if she doesn't die..." Seles looked to her feet. "You're the same! You're just going to leave! Just the same as him! Diving into me, using me! And then leaving! Well I'll have you know right now, Proxy dives may protect the diver if I decide to blow this place up, but I'll make it so nothing can ever enter into this place again, even if it means I destroy Hikari's mind in the process!" She clenched her fists. "I'll tell you right now Hikari would rather die than to have her hopes and dreams crushed before her eyes!"

A somewhat surprised look came up on her face when he spoke but she quickly brushed aside the surprise when he pushed past her. "Wh-why you..." She growled. "Arrow of purification!" It didn't have much of an effect on him as last time... Don't tell me that Hikari believes the things he's saying to me...? At least it's still enough to boot him...

CRITICAL DOWN

"Whoa!" The shopkeep patted Gannon on the back. "Hang in there. It wasn't so bad this time. Whatever's going on, I think you're doing better. You were in there a whole 5 minutes this time! And it wasn't so abrupt! Wanna go again?"

"That's the spirit! I really wanna see you do it this time! How bout this? I'll cut your fee in half to show my support if you make it through this time! As they say, three times the charm! Regulating wave frequencies, adjusting levels, okay and it's a go! Good luck in there, Dude!" She said, sending him back inside with the touch of a button.


Messed-up Music

This time, Seles wasn't anywhere in sight to greet him. The tremors had worsened and static rippled through the areas around Gannon. Suddenly, static flared up and when it receded the Teru was in a small, metallic cold cell. The CPG's lab rooms for the FPD's where they were imprisoned. Soft crying could be heard behind him.



Little Kari was on her knees, sobbing and backing away from some unseen force. "No, please stop, it hurts! I'm scared. I just want my mommy, my daddy, my big brother! I did everything you told me to! Why can't I see them...? I was a good girl! Wait! I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me anymore! Why are you doing this!? No, no... Don't-! Noooooooooooo!"

Static flared up once again but amidst the distortion the child's bloodcurdling scream could still be heard, enough to give the most couragest of souls nightmares at night. Soon the tremors worsened and the static overcame everything...

CRITICAL ERROR!!! MODE CRASH in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...



"No!" Arms wrapped around the Teru and suddenly he was transported out of the static and into a dark area.

The Dark Hikari appeared before him and wiped sweat off her brow. "Whew, that was close..." She grinned. "Sorry, I came as quick as I could. I had some things that just couldn't wait that needed to be taken care of. You're all in one piece? That's good at least." She looked around her. "Level 3 is unstable. Actually..." She squinted her eyes as if in concentration. "Level... 3? It's gone. Like, completely, totally gone." Her expression darkened for a moment. "As I thought. Good riddance," she bit out. Realizing her outburst in front of the Teru she giggled. "Oh, don't mind me. I'll still help you out anyways! Since there's no Level 3 for now, I guess no choice but to go on to Level 4 right? Sound good to you?" She reached up and snapped her fingers.

Immediately, Stone Henge appeared and light poured out from it. "This Paradigm Shift should let us get back into the swing of things in Level 4." She took his hand and led him to it. "Hold on tight!" She tightened her grip on him and took them both through the Shift.

Ina follow the Teru with the human on her right shoulder, out of no where she saw the silver head Teru with the Reyvateil in a wheel chair. "The hell is goin..." Ina shook it off as she follow the staff and the Teru. Ina put the human in the bed and said. "I'll go get his stuff." With that said, Ina left to the spot where she fought the human. Ina quickly notice the sword that was covered in a white aura. Ina grab the weapon and could feel something cold coming from it. That's cool, wonder where he bought it? Must of been expensive since it could...wait. The last thing I can recall is that he use...and then swung his sword at it. As she was running the thought in her mind she was swinging the sword. Ina then happen to step on a piece of paper. She pick it up began to look at it. All she saw was a strange symbol and decided to keep it for a while. "May have it's use later on." With that said she went to the clinic and put all the human's stuff on the ground.
