Without missing a beat, Sasha moved towards a mirror that gave no reflection. The key was slipped into the lock.
If she stopped to think about the consequences, she wasn't sure she'd be able to continue. Nothing was worse than being away from Nona. Nothing was worse than facing this alone.
For the first time in her life, Sasha had a fleeting thought of simpler times. Ignorance had been bliss.

Sasha woke up in a warm bed. In the dim of night the room was unfamiliar, but there was something about it felt like she'd been somewhere similar before.
Solia?
The voice pushed her out and down, back to sleep.
She was standing in the corridor in front a blank mirror once again.
Each little snippet was tucked away to be analyzed later. Sasha moved from the blank mirror to one that showed a dark-haired man with striking blue eyes staring back at her.
She slipped the key into the lock, and turned.

The key didn't turn. The door remained locked to her even as the man reflected her movements and gesture.
Further down the passage, something glinted and glowed within a mirror.
Sasha pulled the key from the lock, a soft, strangled sound catching in her throat as she noticed the glint within the mirror down the passage. Palming the key, Sasha ran towards the mirror. She began to hum - a thin, reedy tune - and as she slid the key into the lock Sasha felt her hopes rise.

Sasha awoke on a simple pallet with a thin pillow under her head, the sound of something slamming shut and locking echoing behind her. Looking around she would find herself within a prison of sorts, roughly ten feet in each dimension. In one corner was a rain barrel full of water, with a battered metal dipper. Another, smaller, barrel full of bread, hard cheese, onions, and oat cakes sat beside to it. Beyond the prison, Nona glowed weakly against the far wall, an oil lamp next to it.
As Sasha gained an awareness of her surroundings, certain other things would gain her notice. The frilly, whimsical white nightgown. Her hair, now a long cascade of dark waves. Her body seemed slighter and moved differently, her muscles were built unfamiliar places, and softer in areas that life as a hunter had hardened and toughened.
Back at the camp, Sasha's eyes opened, a pure black for several moments before clearing, revealing blue eyes once more. Sitting up she adjusted her neck and looked around, a small smile of satisfaction on her face.

Sasha's movement caught Evan's attention. It was, thus far, the most interesting thing he had seen since his shift started; it had been a boring couple of hours. "Pleasant dreams?" Evan asked her, his voice pitched low so as not to wake Wash.

Wash groaned, opening one eye as he felt movement beside him.
"Somethin' happenin?" It was still dark out, and he sat up quickly, rubbing the sleep out his eyes. When he realized all was quiet, he sighed, putting an arm around Sasha's waist.
"Baby, I know you're worried, but we ain't gonna get nothin' done if we don't try an' get some shut-eye." He rested his chin atop her head, shrugging his shoulders at Evan. Truth be told, he was surprised he'd gone to sleep so easily himself.

Who was he kidding, sleep? No way not this place, Matt thought as he laid on the ground. It could have been worse, it could have been pouring rain, or snowing or something insane that no one wanted to be in sitting in. As Sasha said it was their turn Matt just gave them a thumbs-up as he sat up from his spot on the ground. There didn’t seem to be anything going on outside but nothing was what it seemed, or at least that was what he kept hearing. For all he knew they the entire spot that they were sitting on was transported to some strange room that still makes them look as if they were in some sort of outdoor land.
Evan and Matt didn’t talk, it was just pure silence. Not even a bug chirped causing the shift to be rather unsettling until Sasha began to stir. He watched, letting Wash to check on her.

Sighing and hiding her smile, she allowed herself to be pulled back down into Wash's embrace. "I had a bad dream...about Nona." Placing her arm over Wash's, she settled in to sleep. "You're right, tomorrow's going to be a big day." Her breath soon evened out after that, expression gentling as she leaned back against the warmth behind her, falling once more into a deep sleep.

Wash buried a kiss in her hair and settled back down, molding himself comfortably against her back.
