Kindra (attempting to haggle) or not
Kindra hrmmm'd to herself at Riarna's answer, The price wasn't bad, she could easily afford it but now N'mol had her feeling a little guilty for wanting to buy another dress.... then another woman eyed it, she recognised her as the woman that had been attending to Bereck alot .. and judging from the two of them, she was his Weyrmate. Ah well she'd give haggling a shot, she HAD comissioned Riarna before and could do so again if she decided against the green dress.
Then Bereck just HAD to pipe up, offering more than Riarna asked before Kindra could answer. She prickled for a moment and shot him a look before calming herself, "Alright then, perhaps just a few of those sashes instead then" She bit down the scathing retort she'd wanted to say ... it wasn't worth it. "Perhaps your Weyrmate should have one for that dress, i'd been debating it myself" she added, forcing politeness through her plastered on smile.
She turned to the other stallholder Kaylen "how much are the sashes?" she asked the other woman, still privately bristling but managing to keep a hold of her temper.

Alina - PC weaver stall 8 marks
She planned on stopping Bereck before he got to the dress, before he started anything. The Weyrwomans quiet demeanor was not how she heard Kindra described about the weyr. The last thing she needed was for the shorter woman to go off on a screaming rage, starting a scene. Bereck would get an angry chuckle of it, yes, but no need to see a fight.
Alina didn't speak up in time. Bereck did, though, and Alina managed not to sigh. She stood by her weyrmates shoulder, quiet - Alina did not like being the center of things like this. ... Nor did she appreciate the look the goldrider sent the (admittedly abrupt) Healer, nor the girls tone. Outranking Alina because of her dragon or not did not keep the crafter from pushing aside her nerves for that little barb sent Berecks way.
"That is Master Starcrafter, Junior weyrwoman. Mastercrafter Alina for short. Thank you." She looked back to Bereck, blinking a few times under bangs and glasses, to peer over his shoulder at those sashes indeed. "What do you think?"

Dizzy_Kat Dizzian- PC Weavers Stall Kaylen - pc weaver stall - 2 1/2 marks approx Received: 1/4 mark Kaylen smiled kindly, "I'll have it out to you as soon as possible." She nodded happily, finally some business! With a moment to write down the odder, it almost escaped her notice of someone asking for how much her ribbons were. "15 ribbons? Well which colors did you pick dear? She asked as she tried look closer, but was called away again. "Soft scarves are a half mark and the regular ones are a quarter mark! " she called to Kindra. Not noticing the others interactions with her stallmate.

Riarna - PC Weavers' StallIt was a testament to her experience that Riarna barely blinked at the sudden confrontation at her stall. Although she wasn't used to individuals suddenlt breaking into sales, it did happen-- and as far as Riarna was concerned, this was salvageable provided it didn't get heated. She breathed a mental sigh of relief as Kindra, surprisingly, brushed aside the sudden introduction of a new bidder and turned on the charm with a nod and a smile for Bereck. "That price is very reasonable, rider. I accept. The lady is also correct; the dress is lovely on its own, but a sash or other focal piece would go a long way to enhancing its shape and appeal." Riarna moved her eyes to Alina and took the dress down from where it was hung so that Alina could get a closer look. First, she had to seal this sale-- very likely-- and then she had to hope she could soothe her long time customer as well. Commission was a definite, perhaps with an offer of free embroidery so she didn't renege on her relationship with Riarna. N'mol - PC Weavers' StallN'mol stared at Bereck for a long moment, face blank as he processed this unexpected confrontation, and then he glanced down at Kindra. He didn't even have to wonder if he'd be stepping in the middle-- with a self-control he had only seen glimpses of in the past, his weyrmate bowed to the issue at hand and even made a passing attempt at politeness. In the past, the hint of a challenge would have had her up in arms, but N'mol couldn't help feeling proud of her decision. He let the Weaver do her thing, noticing how uncomfortable Bereck's weyrmate seemed to be, and decided that as soon as Kindra's question was answered, he was going to take her to get some wine or perhaps some snacks from the table. He was sure the Greenrider hadn't meant any offense; N'mol was familiar with wanting to get things your weyrmates wanted for them, and that seemed to be what this was. It was then additionally unfortunate that Alina decided to take exception to Kindra for whatever reason. Perhaps this had not just been a case of being abrupt because of something they wanted. "Well, Mastercrafter Alina," N'mol replied, smiling at her in an attempt to diffuse whatever strange tension was now building, "I hope you and your weyrmate will enjoy the rest of the Gather." He slipped his arm around Kindra's waist and gave her a warm smile all her own. "Kindra, I hope you don't mind, but I am famished. How about food first, and then if you still want some new clothing we can always come back later?"

Bereck - PC weavers. 5 1/8 3/32 (nearly 1/4) Bereck didn't try to return the plastered smile because he knew he was a one trick pony when it came to acting, he could do stoic (unless seriously stressed) but that was all. Serious and civil he remained therefore, taking two marks from the pouch at his belt but waiting for the weaver's final word on the matter. Once he had it he passed the money over with a hint of a smile that hovered somewhere between formal and amiable. "Thank you journywoman." He meant it. Alina deserved nice things - in his biased opinion - and he was glad to be able to treat her to something she'd wanted but wouldn't have tried to get for herself. The exchange between the two women however did mange to elicit a small frown... well it wasn't really an exchange; Kindra had addressed him, and Alina had replied. Firmly. He could have kissed her if they weren't surrounded by people. "I'm sure she will have one if one takes her fancy, won't you Alina?" he said, choosing not to add anything onto what his weyrmate had said. If she looked harried he would stand up for her without question but so long as she was happy to fight her own battles he wouldn't insult her by implying she needed him to weigh in to make her voice worth something. Humm, and N'mol was about to sweep his little lady off, what was it that was niggling at his- Ah! "Oh, before you go Kindra, seeing you here reminds me," Bereck added in the same serious civil tones as ever as the memory of their last meeting popped to mind. "I'll be able to make that trip I mentioned to you next sevenday. If you prepare the particulars I'll take them along for you." Should he have been oblique?... Probably, who knew who might overhear and speculate if they heard a Masterhealer was going to Healer Hall for one of the gold riders? He might not have any respect for Kindra's rank but that didn't mean he approved of the idea of people gossiping about her.

Idris – PC Weavers Stall – 7 & 1/2 Marks
Oh! It was Masterhealer Bereck! The silverrider couldn’t exactly claim to be close with the Masterhealer, but a shared craft meant shared space... and Idris subscribed to the policy that it was always a good idea to know your local Mastercrafters. Especially if you were engaged in an activity like Threadfall, where Singhath might someday need more experienced hands than hers after a bad Fall.
But, well. It was bad luck to think of such things today, given the circumstances. (Oh, K’tar.)
“Hello, Masterhealer Bereck – Master Starcrafter Alina – “ The name of his weyrmate came back to her swiftly once it was used. And on the bright side, Idris wasn’t thinking of morbid things anymore. On the downside, she was now standing in the middle of a sudden spat between the Weyrwoman and the Masterhealer and their respective weyrmates.
In a very real sense, both of them were her bosses.
Maybe they were like felines, and if you stood very very still you wouldn’t attract unwanted attention. She thanked Faranth silently that N'mol seemed to be trying to remove Kindra from the situation.

Kindra clenched her jaw at the Mastercrafter, Bereck's weyrmate. Deciding to say nothing rather than lose her temper, She was glad that the maker of the sashes/scarves then talked to her. "Thank you, I'll take one of the soft ones and two of the plainer ones? I have a couple of dresses that would look just right with one of these around the waists" she said to Kaylen. Blatantly ignoreing Alina to avoid conflict right now but she was fuming at the woman, how DARE she speak to her like that.... N'mol shook her out of her internal raging. She let N'mol do the smooth talking, he was better at it than she was when she was like this.
She blinked slowly and handed the 1 mark piece over to Kaylen, not even bothering to haggle. "I think that would be an excellent idea N'mol" she said, hooking her arm in his while she waited for the weaver to parcel her sashes up for her. Hoping the woman didn't expect Kindra to do it herself. "I'll just save my marks and have Riarna make me something unique instead" she said pointedly.
Then Bereck addressed her and she was forced to stay a little longer, however when she heard what Bereck had to say .. her pissyness washed away and she gave him a genuinely grateful smile. "That would be great Bereck, thank you" she said, "I'll send someone along with what you need if i can't deliver them myself, would that be alright?" she asked him before realising she hadn't told N'mol about what she and Bereck had talked about.
"N'mol, Bereck here offered to see if there was any news of my parents... and my brothers" she informed him quietly. Frankly she didn't give two wherry shits if she was gossiped about, she'd n** it in the bud easily enough. Though certain rumors might not be appreciated when it came to people hearing that a Healer was going to the Healer Hall for her.

N'mol -- PC Weavers' StallN'mol wasn't about to ask about the exchange at the moment, not when every second might mean someone saying something else that was unnecessarily combative, but when Kindra showed genuine liking and gratitude, it did give N'mol pause. The explained reason, however, made perfect sense and he squeezed his weyrmate briefly. N'mol nodded at Bereck. "Thank you." He knew how much Kindra worried about her family; when you didn't come from the Weyr, N'mol imagined it was much like that. "Thank you very much. I hope your journey is easy and whatever news you bring back is favorable."

Alina - 8 marks
When ignored entirely by a person you'd spoken to by name, one probably ought to be upset. Alina - well, alina felt relief with only a thread of anger. Kindra had her nose in the air but open ears, she heard despite her very obvious slight. The starcrafter turned away from an angry goldrider with a murmur of agreement to Bereck's question.
Idris kept her from trying to melt too far into the floor, the tall woman uncomfortable in the angry proceedngs. She'd not meant to start a fight; Kindra gave Bereck a look, she said a snide thing and Alina returned it in kind. Ignored or not, she said her piece and the new Wingsecond had to hear it all. "Wingsecond Idris," Alina smiled at her, maybe a touch nervous but friendly never the less. Sadly, she had no feline in her blood. "Congratulations. It's - it's regretable it came like this but you'll be wonderful."
There. That didn't sound horrible, did it? No? N'mol sounded nice enough, a polite young man, even that was nice to see, even if he'd attached himself to a rather...volatile girl (who'd not yet, she appreciated that). "You too, Bronzerider. Enjoy your day."

Bereck - PC weaversShe ignored- Totally ignored! Bereck's jaw tightened and he too might have said something regrettable if Kindra hadn't softened. "Mmh, well... it's not much trouble to me as I said, and that would be fine," he replied instead, sounding a little stiff perhaps but far from hostile. Looking to N'mol he gave a slight nod. "I hope I have good news to bring as well N'mol. Be assured I will deliver it as soon as I return." This was addressed to the pair of teen leaders, a little less tense now but no less formal. Hopefully the pair would leave for their fancy high table with its free expensive wine now. ...Idris? Bereck blinked, looking surprised for a moment, and turned to the silver rider. Had he really been so focused that he hadn't noticed her standing there?... Had she addressed him? He had no idea. Bereck resolved to make the closet approximation of playing it cool he was capable of. "Idris, good afternoon and congratulations." While he disapproved of a whole gather being thrown for one rider because he'd happened to be 'important' he could at least approve of his replacement. Idris was a good dragonhealer and a hard worker, he had no doubt that she would do well in her new role. Suddenly aware that he had ignored Alina for a few moments Bereck glanced up at Alina then and smiled warmly, his serious expression melting like a flake of snow settling on warm skin.

Riarna - PC Weavers' Stall Earned this Gather: 3 3/4 m.With the matter being settled by at least one cool head, Riarna set the clothespins aside and folded it neatly. She held off on wrapping the garment, however, in the event that Alina-- Mastercrafter Alina, she had made very plain, and something Riarna would not be quick to forget in her own conversations with the woman-- wanted to compare a color of sash to the dress. She accepted Bereck's marks with a smile and tucked them away, then cut a swath of wrapping linen and, while the riders were distracted, wrapped the scarves for Kindra before Kaylen had a chance to. "Smile," she said very, very quietly for Kaylen's ears alone. She'd have to have a talk with the girl once their customers moved away. The scarves wrapped, she passed them to Kindra with a smile. "Have a pleasant Gather." N'mol -- PC Weavers' StallNow that the conversation had thankfully turned to Idris and Kindra had received her goods, it was a good time to step away from the situation. "Good day," he repeated to the couple and the Weavers behind the counter. N'mol wore a half-grin as he turned to Idris, who was standing very quietly by, and tossed her a brief salute. "Wingsecond, I'll see you very soon." With that, N'mol let Kindra take the first step and, from there, steered her away from the Weaver's booth. When they had put a considerable distance between themselves and the others, N'mol let out a soft breath and smiled lopsidedly at Kindra. "That was very well done, Kindra." He leaned over and placed a lingering kiss on her head. "I think your excellent handling of that situation deserves a reward. Perhaps several of them."

((Jeebus, so much to catch up on. I had to finish that post at work so I couldn't add everyone's names, but you guys figured it out I hope.)) Kaylen Received: 1, 1/4 mark She quickly pulled herself away from writing down the order as she was handed the mark, setting it where it belonged, she began to wrap up the three purchases that the woman had picked out. She was starting to pick up on the tension but didn't know what to do about it. She was a stranger here in the gather. Even if she was often in the Weyr. Perhaps she should let it settle itself? She was starting to get distracted, watching as the woman made to leave... Oh, Maybe she wasn't leaving yet? Kaylen only knew two of the people there by face and name, and neither of them were more than someone she had met in passing. Having met the Healer, what was his name...? Oh Yes Bereck, when she made badnages for him after the attack and her stall mate who she had just met. Kaylen was realizing she really needed to get more out there. She didn't even know who those who were causing the tension, though she guessed they were important by hearing their titles. And her a lowly Journeywoman... Kaylen sighed. If she could have, she would have backed out of the stall, but she still had to sell her things, she had spent all this time thinking she was making very well made things but then again, this woman beside her Riarna had much more. Not to mention, it wasn't her place to ask them to leave, especially since they were giving her good business. And as long as no fight was started, that was good right? Riarna's voice in her ear made her jump and she turned to look at her. Giving her a relieved smile. "Sorry." She whispered back to the girl. Handing the scarves to Riarna to give them to Kindra., watching as Riarna wrapped them. "Please forgive the wait." She said to the woman. Kaylen might be needing some wine soon ((edited))

Adi - Y'or's Stall"They will!" Adi agreed, returning the grin. "Our whole wing'll be jealous, I bet." She accepted the chalk and slate, and carefully wrote down Mazamath's measurements - finished with a little heart at the bottom - for the trader. "This is going to be awesome," she declared, all but dancing in place. "Thanks, Y'or!"

Set'al - Wandering the Stalls 5 marks
Usually, Set'al loved Gathers, and got very happily distracted by the endless goings-on, but thus far, he was not enjoying himself one bit. Instead, he was fretting, pacing from one stall to another, examining the various goods, and then pacing on to another, and eventually back again. He was trying to find a present for Narisa, and failing miserably by overthinking every single option available to him. A weapon from the smith - even a lovely one, and even if he actually had the marks for it - might imply that he thought she couldn't defend herself. The gold dragon brooch? Might lead her to think that Cepheith's color was important to him, which it wasn't. The silver hand mirror could insinuate that she was vain, and besides that, the Thread-fighting motif might not be entirely appropriate, given that her dragon didn't flame and flew in the Queen's Wing. There was the nice sparkling wine, since she was a vintner, but...maybe it was too much. He didn't want her to think he was trying to show off.
He wasn't, not really! He just wanted to get her a present, because she was his friend...erm, more-than-friend. Shardit, what was he supposed to do? The bronzerider was way out of his depth, and looked more than a little lost as he searched for a gift that, hopefully, wouldn't make him look like an idiot.

Iafri - Argo's Stall5 marksIafri was distinctly uncomfortable. Not just because of the large crowd of Weyrfolk, but because this was the first Gather she had attended with out intentions to steal anything. Granted, she'd never liked picking pockets or sneaking off with a vendor's wares while one of her brothers distracted them, but she'd still done it, and trying to escape the notice of stallkeepers was still a habit. She moved with her head bowed and her hands shoved in her pockets, as though that would stifle any other old habits. You would never do that, now that you have a choice, Girofleth assured her, carefully monitoring and supporting her rider as always. But you really should buy some clothes, ones without patches. You will feel better! The green was not an appearance-conscious dragon, but she did recognize that her borrowed or old, many-times mended clothes did contribute in a small way to how out of place Iafri felt at Trine. It would also be good for the girl to use the marks that she had earned honestly and buy something, clothing or otherwise, and have something that was truly hers. Reluctantly, the greenrider shuffled to the nearest stall that looked to be selling clothing. Oh, but it was leather, bodices and boots and, oh, flight gear? No, myIafri, you have that. Get something that you think is pretty, or interesting, or fun. Get something that you like."But I don't know what I like," Iafri muttered under her breath. As she glanced back at the wares on display, her right hand found its way out of her pocket so that she could chew on her fingernails. The bodices were nice, and they always looked so pretty on other girls, but...but she'd have to actually talk to the stallkeeper first, and he was already helping someone. A very big someone, in fact, which made interrupting that much less appealing. Don't be silly, he is there to sell things. Be polite, and he won't mind.Heeding her dragon despite being terrified, she took a deep breath and asked, "E-excuse me? How much are th-the bodices? If...ifyoudon'tmindmeasking."
