A male walks towards the restaurant/bar. A young being rushes past him and he knows that the being is a demon, due to internal instincts. He enters the building, comes up to the bar and takes a seat.
``Hello, Wendy. I'll take the usual,´´ he says.
``Hello, Xander,´´ she says, grabbing a glass to make his drink.
The male turns his eyes to the elf who is sitting at a booth and smiles, his vampiric-like teeth showing.
``Emotionally lost, huh?´´ he laughs, ``Women are pains in the tush because they can wrap you so tightly around their finger before you know it.´´
Wendy glares at him and he says, with a wave of his hand, ``Not to be offensive, Wendy.´´
She continues making his drink. After completing his drink, she turns to the female that had just walked into the bar before Xander.
``I'm sorry, dear. Would you like something to drink or eat?´´

Xander takes a sip of his drink then leans over to Wendy, ``How much do I owe you from last time?´´
The woman pauses for a second, recalling the number, then says, ``About three hundred.´´
The man nods his black-haired head and he pulls out his wallet from inside his coat. After a minute, he hands her three hundred dollar bills and a ten.
``For last time and for my drink this time.´´
Wendy shakes her head, taking what is due to her before she heads back to the register.

"And yet it's worse when one does and you are away from her," Darian replied , "Because you begin to unravel. I'm not sure about the 'can't live with 'em' part of the expression, but I certainly believe 'the can't live without 'em' part." The elf sighed, and looked over too Wendy, "On second thought, I think I'll take you up on that offer for a drink, something strong."

The business owner nods and goes to fetch something 'strong' for the elf. Xander sees her slip away and he picks up his glass before going over to the booth that the elf is sitting at.
"Begin to unravel? Hmm. Never have had that happen to me. ...yet," he says as he leans back a bit, "Not yet. ...but that's because the ladies in the town don't attract my attention. Ya know: looking for that someone who is special and stands out. No one yet."
He takes a sip of his drink then asks, "How is your gal special, if I may ask?"

"We've known each other for ages," Darian said with a laugh, "And we survived a... tragedy, I suppose would be the best way to describe it. And she saved my life. Three powerful things, combined with unbelievable beauty and a great personality."
The door swung open suddenly and Nathan walked in holding a backpack in the air. "First time in months I've been able to leave it out and find it again!" He sat down on the floor, his back against the divider of two of the booths.

Xander smiles slightly and says, "From what I can understand from your body language, she's a great woman that is able to conquer the heart of a warrior. Elvish, nonetheless."
He then looks over to the younger male that had just entered into the room. It was the same being that he had passed as he had come to the bar.
'Definitely part demon, at least,' he figures as he turns back to his drink, 'The question is whether or not he is Higher Demon or Lower Demon. I guess I'll find that out in a bit. ...oh please let him not be a HD. Their egos are so annoying and they are so self-confident as if nothing can bring them down... I'm not in the mood to fight right now.'
(OOC: Differences between Higher Demon and Lower Demon: - HDs are harder to kill. - HDs have a larger ego. - HDs usually look down on all other beings, esp. LDs. - The wars and feuds between demons, when they happen, are usually between the two classes (HD/LD) and the HD usually win because they are harder to kill.
Xander is a LD but he has a taint of HD blood in his veins so therefore he is harder to kill than the LDs but easier to kill than the HDs. The HDs still hate him, though. Not a "pure blooded demon" as the HDs say.)

Darian laughed. "It's a wonder she still has circulation for how tightly I'm wrapped around her finger, and I wouldn't trade it for anything." Turning to Nathan he said, "That's what you risk leaving stuff lying in the street."
"Hey, I'm gettin' this figured out," Nathan replied, an obviously fake tone of hurt in his voice. "Not my fault I haven't been travelling as long as you. Hell, I haven't been alive as long as you've been travelling."

Xander turns to the younger demon, trying not to shake his head at the innocence the being seems to portray, and says, "Just because you're younger and less experienced doesn't mean that it should take you a while to realize that you don't leave your stuff lying around in the middle of nowhere. You just have to figure out where other people wouldn't find it and steal it."
He then turns back to his drink and sips some of the liquid from the glass, still wondering what level of demon the younger being is.

"Hey, I'd like to see you not be stunted in just about every way after not having parents for most of your life!" Nathan snapped, actually a little offended at the man's obviously low opinion of his intelligence. "Wiseass," he added under his breath.

Xander growls, his eye color slightly changing, "Watch it, youngster. Just because your life has been hell doesn't mean that others' lives have not been hell. Don't think that you're the only one who's dealt with sh**."

"In other words," Nathan said with a smile, "You're not human. That usually seems to be the way it works. Some actually live honest lives and go through their share of crap, but a lot more seem comfortable to sit back and make the non-humans suffer."
Darian sighed. "As fascinating as this little game of 'Who's life is more screwed up?' you guys have going is, I can't help but think our host would appreciate it if you calmed down a little. Before things get out of hand and damage is done to her place of business."

The demon growls again, trying to keep his temper. He swallows his drink down, not caring about the quantity of alcohol acting as lava down his throat.
"Just because I'm not a human doesn't mean anything," he says, pushing up from the table, "Just because there are angels, it doesn't mean that they are perfect or holy. Racism is more prevalent among the non-humans than among the humans...."
He brings his glass over to the bar, his clothes billowing as he walks. He sets it down, harnessing everything in him to not slam it to pieces on the hardwood countertop.
"I'm going outside to cool down...." he says lowly as he goes through the door, barely not slamming it.

"I see why you travel alone," Darian said with a smirk. He remembered some of his own youthful precociousness, although he had always been careful not to cause anger.
"Shut up," Nathan snapped. "I don't need your smug comments. It's better if I'm alone anyway, less chance I'll get attached. Makes it easier to move on when I have to." He leaned his head back against the divider of the booths. "Besides, how was I supposed to know he'd be so testy?"
