Lazenca, in well enough condition to help, helped in the pulling.
Grunting goes here.

"What the?" The half-golem tilted his head in the direction of Flare, and noticed that familiar sword jutting out of the ground, chains attached. Using good ol' fashioned deduction, he concluded that since Allen, Athan and Vahn and been sucked in, and only Allen and Athan seemed to have reappeared, and considering Flare wanted him to hook up those chains to the car...
lol, somebody's stuck.
"Heh." Shou hopped out of the car, grabbed the chains in his right hand, and just ******** yanked.
Go super arm strength f'realz.

Athan was, to say the very least, dead tired. When Lazenca and Shouyin threw in their helping hands, it was all he could do to just keep himself from dropping the chain then and there.
"We got him."
Athan set his jaw and took a single step backwards, finding that walking was a little bit easier than using his arm at this point. Vahn's body seemed to hover over the gap for a moment before finally finding a resting place on the 'ground' of the Void.
He wasn't going to rush over and check on the body. Vahn was there. That was good enough for him.
Athan himself crashed to the ground on his back and stared straight up. Everyone else could answer questions. He just wanted to sleep.

Yanked up by the combined efforts of everyone, as well as maybe himself (in his own little way), Vahn 'beached' the opening and fell to the floor.
The tear behind him bleeding out massive tendrils of darkness, which were promtply shuttered out and swallowed by...nothing.
Hacking violently, the first thing he did was curl slightly, bringing his knees to his chest as he spasmed a bit. It had been incredibly cold...where he had been.. and not the icy kind of cold.. but the bone chillingly 'I'm in your soul haha' kind of cold.
Much like Athan, maybe even worse off, Vahn's body was a mess.
But he seemed to be breathing, and wasn't even bald.
One battered and bruised hero, served medium rare.

"Vahn!"
The chain fell to the ground. Her feet pounded on the sand. Then she was beside him, kneeling down if he was slow to get up. He was there. He was alive. There wasn't much more to say.
"Somebody get a healer!" Owle shouted at the small portion of the population that was still capable of standing. "Or an ambulance! Something!" It wasn't just for Vahn. But she needed to make sure he was okay, first, before she could worry about everybody else.

"Owies..." Nascen dropped the chains as soon as he was safely up, and sat down just off to one side, blowing on his hands to try and cool off the darkened bandages on his hands and not get in the way of any of the drama he saw about to form up real fast here.
"Dude. We just saved the world, and, like, no one even died or anything. Sweet."
But there was no time to talk to himself. There always seemed to be a need for a healer, and right now he seemed once again the closest they had at hand. He hopped up quickly, ignoring a body stiff, tired, and sore from thankfully mild injury which just so happened to have left its smaller mark on the entirity of his body so many hours ago now. He was no crazy fast healer himself after all, just a normal person.
"I don't have much, but I've got some basic field kits I'm sure I can stop the injuries getting any worse with, and some painkillers if he needs them..." he said, tossing his pack down next to the toasted victor and digging out his two med kits as quick as he could.

"..U-Ughh..."
Barely conscience, Vahn lifted his right hand up, fingers spread.
Everything throbbed. Everything ached. Everything...what the hell...? Elephants...?
Pink ones at that.
"I haven't..kff.. made a good decision in fourteen years, I swear to---"
His words came out slurred and slow, as he tried to refocus on what exactly was going on here.
He lay completely still, breathing hurting him more than closing his eyes would at this point. Numerous cuts and bruises along his body, burn marks and that nasty wound in his torso. Blood stained the lower right side of his jaw and dripped down his chin.
He recognized Owle's voice.. knew she was there.
"He... said I wasn't good enough...kff...kfff.." He stared up at Owle, eyes hazed over. "...didn't earn it...he was wrong..."
His arm struggled to remain up, trying to at least grab hold of something real. "I just forgot for a little while....nearly forgot... why I did it...I won't forget...again..kfff.."
His entire left eye was swollen shut, even as his arm dropped.
"We saved... planet...everyone.. Isn't it cool?" A tear ran its course from his single good eye.. before closing.
His breathing stopped.

"Good. Use them," she commanded Nascen.
She listened to Vahn, hovering near him, not daring to touch him for fear of hurting him. She was just about to say 'yeah, it's cool.' when his chest stopped rising and falling like it should.
s**t s**t s**t s**t s**t!
Suddenly Owle saw her life as though it were a movie. She was hovering outside herself, watching the scene, and knowing exactly how it was going to end. This was the part where the love of his life was supposed to cry, declare love, kiss him, give him mouth to mouth...something. Except...she wasn't.
"You are not ******** dying on me!" Did anger come anywhere close to love? Owle didn't know. But she did start giving him CPR rather violently...trying not to disturb his other wounds, but that was somewhat difficult considering how injured he was.

Sam moved away from Charlie, towards Vahn. The one thing she kept through all of her own ordeals was her bracelet. She broke off a small charm of a feather. As she did so, a duplicate item reappeared. "Here... put this on his tongue. It should heal him."

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Whether by luck, miracle, super special ability... or just plain fate... Vahn's ticker, just didn't quite believe it should have stopped tickin'.
Owle's...violent, yet loving minstrations all but forcebly roused the hero to a full 12: o'clock status, complete with yell and the re-opening of the wound on his torso all at once.
Of course he wasn't instantly healed, or rezzed or something like that.
Owle managed to get him breathing him, so it was a start.
Apparently his body had gone into a state of shock.. simething akin to cardiac arrest yet not quite so fatal.

The world had been saved once again. The three champions had made it out and, most fortunately, survived. Besides the trio, the other heroes of Gaia stood congregated around on the sands of The Void.
And yet everything was so calm, so quiet, so.... awkward and misplaced.
Charles clasped his hands together loudly. "Right then," he cried, "chalk one more up for the good guys." He thought that over for a moment. "I mean, the human race." Then he realized to whom he was talking. "Er, mortals." Then he remembered to count himself. "Well, us. Chalk one more up for us."
The Chauffeur sprinted over to his armored van, shoving the husky, sweaty, very much passed out Conrad to one side. He opened the van's rear doors and withdrew a large, oblong crate. Returning to the cluster of good-doers, Degs set the crate down in the sand with a shuff, sand dancing away from the heft of the parcel.
Charles then pried open the top, revealing the contents of his gift to all of them.
"Drinks all around," he said with a grin.
((Just pull whatever the hell you want out of there: Coffee, Tea, Captain Morgan, even a warm jar of urine for all I care))

No doubt the idea of a nice drink was something that was appealing to him, but Athan was far too busy reflecting on what had just happened.
Or, in other words, he was unconscious.
His breathing pattern was stable, and given the nature of his injuries he was actually in pretty good shape, it was just that he was flat-out exhausted. Between running away from a police cruiser carrying a tiny cauldron filled with foul-smelling goo, fighting the Viceroy twice, and escaping from an all-consuming void of darkness, Athan barely had enough energy to stay awake as long as he had. Odds were that he wasn't going to be awakening any time soon of his own accord.
And he probably wasn't going to be too happy if somebody tried to rouse him from his slumber.
He was still new to the whole hero thing.

"... Am I powerless to do nothing? Always second place, runner up, never the one to Excel. What will it take to Excel?"
His right hand closed and he took a deep breath. The Doppelganger's power did well in giving him some back, but it was never a full transfer... there was always some lost in the translation. But there was a way to transfer energy, with no energy loss, no medium. A direct transfer...
"If nothing else..."
His eyes closed and he pictured the two who seemed to need healing the most, Vahn and Flare. A shattered arm, versus a state of... whatever Vahn was in. A limbo between here and there. More to Vahn, though Flare would benefit.
If he did this correctly.
He did for this, the same thing he did for any other Tech. He imagined it happening, and he held the focus. You see the energy flowing like a river. Freezing the river produced a Glare. Creating waves produced a Fang. Reaching out to others who are drowning... would that be the key? In his mind's eye, he imagined the flow of power from him to the two heavily injured fighters. And in little time, he felt it.
"...I would have done my part."
In chasing after someone else while drowning, you risk your own life. The waves began to drag him under. A hand out grasped both of the injured, and yet he himself was going under while the others were slowly pushed up to the surface.
------- "Are we so willing to prove ourselves to the world?" "There is no point to continue." "Are we so willing to die so that others may live?" "There is no point to continue." "This is the price of ambition, paid in full." All four heads lowered. -------
Eyes closed, and Lazenca started to cough. Starting from his palm, the Medium on his left arm selected certain lines, and began to glow blue.
"Focus. Just a while longer..."
Another cough, and he dropped to the ground. Blood began to drip from his nose, and he spit the same upon the ground. Would this even work?Final Tech The Transfer (Medium Band: HEART)
Not regulating his own spirit and neglecting the use of a medium to regulate energy flow, the user pours all of himself in a healing that actually transfers his life force into the other person (as opposed to using Gaia's energy). Activation of this Tech damages the person- bleeding, sickness, and other ailments are a common occurence. The user cannot be healed from this by magic; rest is the only way to recover. The user is completely able to extenquish his own life force, giving everything to the targets, with obvious consequences.

Vahn yelled, Owle jumped back and nearly bowled over Sam. She hadn't expected his awakening to be quite so...loud.
She accepted the charm from the other woman, wasting no time in getting the thing into Vahn's mouth and onto his tongue. "Thank you," she said quietly. She sat back and watched the mercenary, having little eyes for anything else till she knew he would live.

Flare, now that there was nothing more she could do to help, was perfectly content to follow the lead of Charles and get drunk off her a**. At least, she assumed that's what he intended on doing.
...wait, he was going to be driving that van she hoped to take a ride in. Either she had to change her assumption, or start looking for another ride to a hospital somewhere.
Either way, she grabbed a bottle of beer, not too picky right now. She sipped it, and immediately started feeling better. Loads better. As though her wounds were slowly started to heal...
They were! The minor cuts on her arms, and the rest of her body, were already starting to close...whoa!
Flare held her beer bottle out at arms length, examining it carefully. Magical healing beer? Only on Gaia.
It was only after the demoness had made this brilliant deduction that she noticed Lazenca coughing up blood. "Hey!" she shouted, moving closer to him. "What's wrong? Hang in there..."
