The Chaos finally finished with Alex, leaving her in the middle of the fire storm. Her body tingling from the power that had just been running through her, she dropped to the ground, her good arm holding the jacket to cover her body, shielding her from the flames.
'Bloody hell... what was that... that power...' She was half-talking to the other femme telepath and half talking to herself...

Look, the Viceroy is gone. Still feel like trying to destroy everything?

"... I'll get him. Keep the engine hot." It was pointless to let him die like this. He opened the car door ever so calmly and stepped out somewhat near Vahn- not right next to him, because with all the heat he was channeling, that would just be stupid. Still pretty much flaring with aura and whatnot that would have AC'd the car if he was there for much longer, he brought his right hand back.
"Only supress... and we're gone." And then it all went mute for a second, as Lazenca raised his opened fist in the air.
Cue the chorus, cue the end of tsylence. Cue the massive- and we're talking massive outward explosion of cold energy. Like, many minutes of charging, + Doppelganger-powered, massive. Massive enough that the landscape was rocked, that trees blew outward, and anything on the light side and not locked down was lifted off it's feet.
"SHHHEHHHHHHH----"
This included Lazenca, who after the initial release, was tossed and made to roll at least 10 feet back before he regained his balance by crouching low on all fours, slamming his claws into the ground. DAMNED BAND.
[edit] Oh yeah. The area was gonna probably start freezing over from the open Backlash Grenade, if Vahn sucked in enough of the heat and flame. That would do well to cool the thermite, and Vahn was storing enough heat that perhaps he wouldn't be frozen over- which is what the main purpose of the attack was. And Shou was in the car, which would be rocked. But MAN anyone else out there in that and not behind something was gonna get frozen nice and good.

The sound of steam echoed out, as it hissed outwards, escaping into the frosty atmosphere.
Small droplets of crimson splattered the ground, even as the gleam of a bloodred flamberge was visible.
The steam roiled off it's form, as well as from the hunched over figure holding onto said sword, with it's point dug into the ground.
A disrecpectful way to treat a weapon, but he didn't have much choice in the matter.
His mantle was all but ravaged completely, only rags and ends fluttering about freely, which covered whatever part of Alex' body was exposed.
Somehow in between the explosion of ice and the final release of heat, he'd gotten blown.. or perhaps forced his way to her.
His head was lowered, his chest rising and falling with each breath, even as locks of hair matted against his skull.
Everything around them was practically winter wonder land, but for the small circular area around the both of them.
"....What's -pant- with that look...-pant-..."

Oh...good... The sigh of relief was almost palpable. I didn't want to have to fight anyone else.
It would have been rather difficult not to get some inkling of the physical hardship the woman was going through. Owle noticed it with some concern.
Um...you want me to call someone who can call 911?

He wasn't supposed to feel like this, and the attack wasn't supposed to be able to blow HIM away like that. Something had... gone wrong? Had he more energy than he thought? Whatever the reason, the attack had ended and Lazenca picked himself out of the ground, swinging his arm quickly the way a swordsman cleans his blade of blood.
"We're leaving..."
Wether or not Vahn was grateful, he wasn't sticking around for Alex. Lazenca made his way back to the car, nice and confused-like.

Alexiel looked up at Vahn with eyes that were now completely black from the Chaos energy and from the pain and emotions tumbling around insider her. For a brief moment in the chaos, she had thought she was going to die and then he had somehow showed up, even after she had betrayed him... or so everyone thought.
He had come for her when he could have saved his own a**. "You... came back for me..." Never in her life had anyone been so willing to repeatedly sacrifice themself for her.
((Edit: Sorry 'bout that Owle... I didn't realize Ed had posted in regards to Alex and needed to delete the post and re-write it. I'll add a response for you here though.))

What is it that pulls a man in many directions all at once...

It is his soul.

And this man's soul was too big to allow a promise made to go broken.
His head remained lowered, even as blood dripped off his cheek, the gash from an insane amount of frostbite.
He tried to release his right hand from the grip of his Fang, but found himself unable to do so; the flesh was literally melded onto it's surface.

Alexiel reached up with her good hand and wiped at the blood on his cheek before leaning up and kissing him softly in the same spot. "I was never trying to kill myself... I only wanted the chance the get to close enough to make an attack... or distract him..."
She frowned, promptly changing the subject. "Your wounds need to be looked at... Are you alright?"

Lazenca worked the handle, being sure to absorb any energy against the door so it wouldn't break off or anything, and slumped back in the front seat.

"What's wrong? You tired?"
Rising up off the ground, without so much as a look at her, he stood there. Left eye shut tight as blood ran it's course over it, from another slightly smaller gash around the side of his head. His breaths weren't coming as nicely as he wanted them to, either.
"Then stand back I'll take care of this.."
He turned his head to the side, and smiled at her, the first real smile since they paired up for this crazy adventure.
He swiped his Fang at nothing but air, hand gripping the handle tightly so the skin of his hand wouldn't literally rip off all at once, before sliding backwards slightly.
The ground was icy after all.

Shou whistled a lil' and tapped the rim of the steering wheel patiently. Athan was asleep in the backseat, and with the latest news on the radio, he knew the incident in Gambino had been resolved. So now, all they had to do was cruise to the temple, not a care in the world.
Shouyin saw no problem with letting Vahn have his moment.
Oh mayn.

Alexiel watched him go sliding across the ice for a moment, grinning slightly, before willing him to stop with what little energy she had left. Already the black color of her eyes was starting to fade as she started to calm down and grow tired. God, this saving the world business was taking its toll on her body and mind. She'd need a good long rest after this. She needed a good long rest now.
