The way to the circus grounds was pretty easy to stop, the lights, the dancing, and the posters and signs that lead the way were pretty helpful in finding it ......as a clown on a ball would greet her at the entrance to the place.
"Welcome to the circus of the stars....can I help you find your way to big tent?"
He would ask, as he lend down and held where she could see .....a trio of tickets in his hands.
"Just 10 gold, and I can show you the way."
He grin quite boardly as he waited for an answer.

A pair of fiery crimson eyes would lock upon the woman as she spoke, a myriad of harsh words cresting the tip of Raven's tongue before he managed to halt them. He'd been about to go into a speech about age not being a measure of strength or talent, and by the logic if it were, she must not be a particularly capable trainer then being that she was so much older then the children currently present; however he would stop himself before even starting. She'd uttered the words 'I hope' an indication that she believed she very well might lose against him, and sincerely didn't wish to. Evidently he needed this battle quite dearly; a little stress relief to cool his presently all too hot temper. Briefly his eyes would dart in the direction of the pair squaring off, before settling on the nearest speaker. The matches had been decided, now they only need wait for the departure notice.
Though Raven wouldn't find himself leaving the lockeroom any time soon.....as the first to be called to battle belong to the two boys before them. The loud and quiet one, ad they exit the room, and the loud one was smirking dangerously.
"No contest."
He would state rather loudly as they went to battle. The end result would be declared not long afterwards ....as it was the loudest boy that actually returned. It would hint at something as they watched the match on the screen ....as two pokemon summon would match each other in types.
A ghost type, the loud boy had a Lampent, and the second pokemon that had battle beside him was an steel type as well, Durant. While the quiet boy had a Golett and a Klink, it was an interesting thing to watch ...as the two battle, and a promise that things would not be easy ...for the final match for Raven as well.
The woman would only shrug once their turn was called.
This time she would acknowledge Raven as she declares to him.
"Good luck, and hopefully whether we win or lose, there will be no deaths on the field today."
She would tell him. It sounded like a bit of a good luck spell as their names were summon for them to come to the field. The stadium itself was full of people as Raven upon entry to the field would see that the stadium was big enough for at least 4 battles to go on at the same time, and two of the other fields were occupied with battles from the green and blue sections.
The stands would roar as the woman went to take her place ....as she tries to calm herself, and the announcer would speak.
"Welcome, this is a one on one battle, with each training having two pokemon to compete. The first to have both pokemon knock out loses, unless the trainer wishes to surrender.
Good luck."
It was true, the last battle had been a one on one match. As a younger rank, there was trainers here who were not used to fighting their pokemon in pairs, and thus, they were allowed to battle one against one.
These battles took longer because of it, but it was how this tournament was set up ...and thus, the crowd would roar to life again at the new instructions, because they knew, that a new battle was going to begin.
The woman a bit shy would look at the stands as she would unclip one pokeball from her belt.
Everyone knew, because of the type preferences that she would choose a steel type.
The pokemon would appear in a flash of steel and fly high into the sky as the light shining off of its hide would cast a glare as the Skarmory flew higher and higher as it gave it's call to the world. It's challenge to battle as she would stay above the ground and above the reach of the trainer at that moment.

Raven would arch an eyebrow as he looked up at the screen, viewing the battle which had taken places between two of his fellow contenders. A rather interesting coincidence to be had; or perhaps such types were simply common around here. The overly enthusiastic one had mentioned trainers from around the world, but given he'd never heard of this contest before now, he imagined that most people present in the stadium were local...or at least from relatively nearby.
Upon entering the stadium itself Raven would give a slight flourish of his cloak, the gesture only actually intended the get the thick crimson cloth off his arm where it had gotten stuck from his corner lurking. Eyes like rubies scanned the surroundings; well there was little doubt the place was certainly big enough, well prepared for any sort of large tournament or contest. Again his eyebrow would arch upon hearing the rules of the battle. One on One? That would be a nice change of pace actually. Consistently doing the same type of training wasn't as effective as allowing some variety.
The youth would give only a simple, brief nod of his head in acknowledgement of his opponent, watching as she released her Skarmory onto the field. It almost made him wish he'd brought along Crowe; an aerial dogfight would be good for the metallic bird. As it was, his choice was significantly more obvious. Type against type seemed to be the tradition here, and he hardly had reason to break it. Reaching to his belt Raven would remove the ball second from the front, unclasping and enlarging it in the palm of his hand, then tossing it forward in a simple underhand throw. The results of the lacklustre gesture however would be far more dramatic.
The floor of the stadium surrounding the battle would shake as an immense weight appeared upon it, and the Skarmory would find the ground coming up to meet her as a tremendous bellow filled the air. A Steelix now stood betwixt the trainers, sun glinting off his steel hide as beady red eyes searched for an opponent, a deep rumble rising in the creature's throat upon spotting the Skarmory. Genn had arrived.
">A battle of earth and sky! This should be good! Hahaha!!<" The Steelix chuckled, as always concerned with nothing more then the thrill!

The Skarmory would dip one wing as she would caw aback at him.
(This shall be no battle at all, for everyone knows that wind is greater than earth)
She would caw in her own laughing voice deep in her chest as she made her turn tight. Her wings catching the sun and allow it to shimmer off of it as the woman looked at the Steelix and whistled aloud.
"A fully evolved pokemon, and it doesn't seem to be old either. A youngster of sorts, how did you manage to come upon both the metal coat needed and someone willing to trade and not run away with it.
Because, the coat on it has dents and breaks to it, but the pokemon itself seems to move more as one would if it had spent most of it's life as a Onix."
The woman would declare with the eye of someone who was used to assessing pokemon. She knew this wasn't some wild Steelix, but one instead that had been turned in captivity.
The moved differently from some reason, she had never been able to explain as she would look at her own pokemon soaring high.
This would be a bad battle for them, but it wasn't one they would lose easily. As she thought of her second as being her best choice in that moment.
"This is going to be tough, but I am not losing to some little kid."
She would tell herself as she waited for the referee to give them the call to go.
"USe Icy Wind."
She would call out loudly as the Skarmory would raise on the winds as she would look for a cold blast of wind high in the sky. Catching it finally she would drive creating a slip stream of air as she forces it downwards towars the Onix as she would pass over swiftly.

">When was the last time you saw the wind blow down a mountain?<" Genn rumbled; were his ridged features capable of it one would imagine he was smirking, his tail swishing behind him in anticipation of the Skarmory's first assault.
"Humph...lets just say someone owed me a favour" Raven would respond in his usual calm, blunt manner, crossing his arms over his chest while tilting his gaze skyward. A small glint and the lens sized screen of the child's PokeDex would appear over his eye, displaying for his gaze alone all the information it could divine about the Skarmory. "Quite the cocky one" He commented dryly, not like he was one to talk given Genn's own enthusiasm.
">Let it happen around ya, not to ya<" The massive Steelix muttered, shifting his body as he watched the descending Skarmory, opening his maw to release a heavy breath.
"Genn count..."
">ALL OVER IT!<" The Steelix shouted gleefully, clearly having seen the command coming from miles away. Smacking his spear tipped tail against the ground, Genn tossed his bulk to one side, breath coming out in heavy misty gasps as he surged upward ">Shouldn't a flyer know the importance of warm air beneath your wings!? HAHAHA!<" Genn cackled, lunging at the bird as thick icicles form around his molars, encasing them in ice and forming sharp fangs. Deprived of the lift created by warm air thanks to her own attack, the Skarmory had dropped well within reach, and now she'd pay for it by way of...
"SCREECH!" Raven barked, his voice high and demanding, almost a facsimile over the very move which he was commanding.
Caught off guard by the command Genn halted abruptly, the ice in his mouth cracking and breaking off as his entire body began to rumble. Despite his usually hot-headed antics the Steelix could tell there was no arguing with that command. Opening his mouth wide as it would go, the Steel-Type would loose a boisterous roar, the pitch rising with each held note until it was nearly deafening.
The move would shock the bird as she was sent flying backwards a bit ....as her wings were caught up in the sound as well as the screech. Her head down as she would forced upwards and backwards as she was sent spinning head over tail.
Her feathers would shift as she forces herself out of the spin and glares deadly at them.
(Hahhahaha, so funny ...I thought that pun was pathetic and as for your message on hot air ...I never once thought you were talking about your breathe)
She would caw back. She was obviously pissed that she had been defeated in her first attack, and by just a roar.
The woman would only shake her head once.
"It's okay, just don't let it get too you too much. Keep your head in the game, and we can still win this one."
The woman would tell her pokemon as she looks over at Raven.
"Well, it seems our pokemon have managed to introduce themselves, and now it's our turn. My name is Sapphire, and that is Sarah."
She would point to her Skarmory.
"And we tend to have a bad habit of never giving in ...once we have lost the fight, so we are going to try again. USe ICY WInd, counter attack."
Sapphire would declare as Sarah would raise on the winds again. She had had her defense drop, but she wasn't done yet ....as she would once more find the cold thermals and drop down through it pull the icy wind with her as she dove towards the Steelix.
If at first you don't succeed, try ..try again.

">Pun?<" Genn muttered, his tone one of stone cold obliviousness. With a smack of his tail against the surface of the arena, and a tilt of his head, it was very clear the Steelix had no clue as to what the disgruntled avian was talking about.
"Raven" The boy replied, the statement lacking any real emotion, though he did take the time to look the woman in the eye while saying it "...as for my associate...Genn, Rock Throw!" The boy commanded, making sure his voice rang loud and clear for the Steelix to hear.
">Oooooh! Target practice!<" Genn said with glee, smacking the end of his tail against his own body as if clapping. The next moment however that spear tipped tail would be thrusting itself into the ground, rotating like a drill as it pierced the concrete, tearing away at it until it was able to pull away with a massive chunk. Tongue sticking between a gap in his molars briefly, the Steelix would close one eye and attempt to line up the shot; then at the last second he'd wipe his immense tail forward, release the 'rock' in hopes of striking the bird.
Raven would simply watch on in silence, unconcerned with the harm his Steelix had just caused to the arena floor. Certainly the stadium had to be insured, or at least prepared for such things. After all, nearly every rock or ground-type attack was liable to cause such damage.
Ada would tip her hat to the clown, "Hello there!" He seemed friendly! "Sorry, but I'm not looking to go to the show right now. Some other time, though!" while it did seem fun she had other priorities. Although, if he was the ticket vendor, maybe he could help? "Hey, I'm guessing you're out here a lot though, right? You wouldn't have happened to have seen a man with short black hair and blue eyes around, have you? er.." She'd raise a hand and make a gesture as she explained the next part "He has a totodile, its pretty easy to tell it's his since it's always kind of drunk" or at least, it sure acted like it! Her description wasn't all too good, but hopefully just enough for the clown to recognize him if he had saw him!

(It was your turn last we participated in this battle.)
Both Genn and Raven would simultaneously sway as a rush of light-headedness struck them. It would seem recalling Genn in the dream had no effect on the real world, and for it the Steelix was experiencing the same daze that game when one rather abruptly woke from a dream. The two blinked several times as their eyes adjusted to the shift of the light. Of course in this not even a minute had passed, neither of the pairing having visibly fallen asleep to those around them...in light of that fact Raven imagined those watching would a little confused by their actions.
The confusion likely wasn't going to end when a spray of eggshells came from the bag at the boy's side, evaporating into light as a fuzzy brown head shoved it's way out and clambered onto the boy's shoulder ">I certainly did not imagine I would need to experience that twice....where are we?<" Siegfried questioned, tilting his head to one side to look at his trainer. "I'll explain later" The boy answered, casting the Eevee a side glance before reaching into his bag and tapping the young beast with a PokeBall. Doing so was useless in the Dream World, but here it made it quite clear to whom the kit belonged.
Let the audience wonder how the creature had managed to hatch in the heat of battle...maybe they could tell him later. He wasn't entirely sure what was happening either. Something about a dream? It was all getting hazier the more he tried to think about it...

A single stone as it would hit against the pokemon's head ...a small lump was the best she got from the attack, but it was enough to piss her off more.
She would screech her anger even louder as she beat her wings harder. The entire area would seem to swirl with the force of her anger ...she wasn't going to back down ...not now ...as she would turn the counter-attack into a full fledge one. She would continue to pump her wings as she beat them harder and harder as the winds would grow colder and colder.
"Did you just fall asleep on the field?"
The woman would ask ....as the Icy Wind would blow at her. The girl was more than a bit confused ...as the attack would come at her opponent with the same force as before.

"I...don't...know..." Raven answered, unsure. He was fairly certain narcolepsy didn't run in his family, and he didn't recall taking any severe blows to the head recently...perhaps this was the result of too much training. The body required rest to grow after all. Of course it could also just be his imagination. That was also perfectly reasonable in way of explanation.
Genn just laughed in the face of his opponent's rage. Even after all that blustered, and no less his inability to see straight for a second, he'd managed to peg the little birdy! Slapping his tail against the ground like he was clapping the Steel-Type would just wait their, shuddering with anticipation. Ice wasn't something he was particularly concerned about but the ferocity would no doubt keep this attack from being boring!

The dance the two were doing was something quite rare. The move would hit ...as the ice chilling cold would penetrate, but cause no damage. It was for a moment like the two were making fun of each other ....as the Skarmory would flutter higher in the air.
She couldn't believe her own eyes that she had failed as she would circle upwards and upwards. She would go higher and higher ...as she would click her beak in her irritation.
"You don't know ...what kind of answer is that?"
The woman would ask with her hands on her hips.
"Nevermind, let's focus on the battle. Dodge his next attack, Sarah. There is no sense in taking any hits if you can help it."

"An honest one" Raven would state simply, barely casting the woman a glance, instead choosing to closely follow the movements of her Pokemon. Things didn't seem to be particularly improving for them in this battle, but perhaps this could be a turning point. Only one way to find out he supposed. "Genn, cripple her wings with another Rock Throw" Raven ordered, as always using his stern, blunt tone.
...and Genn just laughed, eyes twinkling as he gave a one tailed salute ">Aye aye boss! Gwaahaha!<" The next instant the Steelix's spear tipped tail would be ripping into the stadium once more, prying loose a chunk of concrete almost as large as the Skarmory herself. Shifting his weight the Steel-Type would whip the boulder forward, launching it into the air. The only question was whether it would stay on course!

Like before, the attack would hit, but it wasn't enough to clip her wings. A small bump that managed to get inbetween the slits of her feathers ...as she did a wing over to dislodge it as she started a bit in pain.
(You hit me again?)
Sarah couldn't figure out how this guy was being so exact ....as Sapphire would seem to get really pissed at it all.
"Dive and use Icy Wind."
Yes, it seemed that she was using the same attack over and over, but she was hoping for a bit more to take place than just a miss as the pokemon dove and sent out her icy attack all at the same time. A twirling mass of power as she sweep by ...carrying the cold winds with her. If she did this right, the entire stadium would drop about 3 degrees with her attack.
