Gray sighed as he watched Chea drag Severin away. He flopped down and looked over at Briar. "Frankly, Shorty, I'm not really sure if I should be jealous of that man or pity the hell out of him. Incidentally, have you ever noticed the instructors at this school are all, bloody insane?"
"Oh, and don't worry about the necklace incident. I don't blame you for taking an interest. I hope we can consider it water under the bridge. Honestly, I only chased you down on principle."

Yay. The past has been put behind them all, and that's how it should be. After seeing a majority of the occupants leave the wagon, Briar turned his attention to the pirate-looking man. Doesn't that mean he has treasure? No, Briar, no. He needed to get that thought out of his head! Shorty? Pffft. Did this guy have a thing against smaller people!? Wait. He should calm down. After all, it didn't seem like the guy was meaning anything since they never did get each other's names.
"It's Briar." He sharply added before chuckling. "Haha, I say pity since as pretty as that girl was, I already have a gorgeous fairy in mind. Though, you're really manly, so you're bound to get the ladies too" So very true. All the girls flocked around the manliest of the bunch, and that's why he needed to buff up for Murren.
"Well, if you call the staff insane, what about the students? I mean, have you seen them?" He asked, seeing that the few staff members he met seemed pretty... average compared to everyone else. Well, if instructors were bad, then the students were definitely worse. After all, look at all the messes they created everyday!
"I understand. I'd chase after people too if they took all of my stuff, so it's no biggie." Well, Briar would mourn the loss of all his stolen possessions before doing so, but this guy didn't need to know that.

Huong Le (( No problem. :] I'm going to pity Briar when he goes into the Hallway. )) ((Silveril cleaned up the trash, but he did leave ALL of the trash cans in that one area of the hallway. And Briar will have to search for the places where they belong and carry them too. 8D))

"Oh right, that green one I saw with you at the ball? I didn't really get a look at her," Gray said. He leaned down so he could see Briar better. Man, he was tiny. It was probably a miracle he found a woman his size at Rosentale. Gray decided against pointing out that he had assumed Briar was the girl since he was pink and she was green. Something told him Briar wouldn't appreciate it. "Well, anyway, ladies like a man who doesn't live in a wagon instead of a proper house so manly or not, I tend not to attract many females. Which suits me. Women are kind of...naggy and high maintenance."
"And yeah, I hear you about the students. I've met some crazy ones. There's this blue haired lad that causes trouble in my class every day. I don't remember a class when someone didn't get hurt. He seems like a good kid, but he's a complete menace."
"At any rate, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Briar. I am Peregrine Elliott Gray Wellington IV. But most just call me Gray."

"Nice to meet you, Gray." He went straight for the nickname, but he had a feeling that he'd end up calling him random colors with his poor memory...
"And that's her!" Briar proclaimed with great pride. After all, why wouldn't he? Murren was just that awesome. Who could not like her? Actually, he shouldn't say that since he'd be getting competition, and he certainly didn't want that. While he had to agree that women could be rather overbearing his sisters for sure, that didn't mean that Gray had to be put off by them. Every guy liked girls except-- oh. Now he got it.
"Well, that's fine if you bat for the other team! Guys like manly guys too regardless of wagons since for all you know, they could live in a box or something!" Did that even make sense? He supposed not, but then again, he wasn't all too great about giving advice about men that didn't relate to manliness.
Blue? Oh! There was only one blue haired guy that Briar knew and that was-- "Kevin right? I know exactly who you're talking about. I'm an advisor for the club he made. The manliness club you know? I'll try to talk some sense into him, but ball gowns are all he ever thinks about. Speaking of which, since you are manly, do you have any activities you can suggest the club can do? I've been stuck in a rut about this for the past few days. All I can think for them to do is clean the school for me."

"I...what?" Gray asked raising an eyebrow. "That's a pretty huge leap based on the fact that all I said was ladies don't like a man who travels around. I don't think men really go for that either. Most people like stability. And frankly--men, women, whatever, I like being single. And can you please not discuss weird things in front of Pilot? I mean, really. Have a sense of decency, man."
He raised his eyebrow at the questions about manliness. "Listen, I have no idea what you're on about but really masculinity isn't about certain actions--it's a mind set I suppose. Try too hard to be 'manly' and you're just going to look like an insecure idiot. But I suppose if you really need activities...um, things that involve power tools?"
"You know, constructing things and repairing things. I suppose? Maybe help out in the stables? Mucking stalls and brushing horses is actually pretty difficult work."

When they reached the wagon, Gray shoved Rose inside and slammed the door. One of his golems was with Pilot--wherever she was. Two were lurking by the wagon, and Gray had them immediately go stand guard. He retrieved supplies from the lower compartment in the wagon and very hurriedly made two more of clay, and a third of clay and iron. That one was a little slower moving, but a good deal stronger than the others. He went to a nearby snow drift and constructed two further sentries from snow to stand guard. He hadn't counted the rounds that had been fired behind them, but it had been a lot. He also retrieved his pistol, before heading back inside out of breath and dizzy.
He went straight to the back, near the bed, and fished out a cloth to wrap his hand. He hadn't really been that careful how he'd slashed it for the blood required to make the new golems.
"Are you alright?" he asked Rose, frowning down at the blood seeping through the cloth. He looked over at Rose, wanting to be sure the boy wasn't hurt. He hadn't stopped long enough until now to really make sure he hadn't been hit by the gunfire earlier.

"Life is a rose, beware of the thorns." ❤═━.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.━═❤ Rose was easily shoved inside, and watched as Mr. Gray slammed the door shut. He was staying out there!? He immediately rushed to the window to see what was going on, terrified for Mr. Gray's sake. He honestly felt absolutely no fear for his own life at the moment. He just wanted to make sure Mr. Gray was okay. When he came back up to the door again, Rose backed up just in time to save himself from being hit by the door when he threw it open, stumbling out of the way as Mr. Gray rushed inside.
He watched as he wrapped his hand with some cloth, and wondered what happened, since he wasn't exactly paying much attention to what was going on before. "My leg hurts a little, but I'm fine," Rose told him with a frown, staring at the wound on his hand. Rose seemed almost unaffected by the assassination attempt. It was a little disturbing how run of the mill this seemed to him. The only source of panic from him seemed to be if Mr. Gray was hurt or not, made clear by the first thing he asked, "A-are you okay? You didn't get hit, did you?"
And with that, there was a few more gunshots outside as the assassin tried to take out the golems by shooting them in the head. ❤═━.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.━═❤

Gray cringed slightly at the sound of the gunshots outside. "I'm fine. I wasn't hit," Gray said. He wrapped his hand tightly and went to Rose, setting his hands on his shoulders. "The golems aren't going to be taken out easily--not by a gun. They will keep fighting until they're Swiss cheese. You need to get into the school. It's safer in there, and you can find someone to help you."
"I'm going to stay here and create a bit of a fuss. See if any spare instructors can come give a hand. So I'm going to out and help the golems distract whoever that is, and I want you to run."
He picked up his pistol and handed it to Rose. "Well, you're not supposed to have it at school but...extenuating circumstances. I'll make sure any punishment is waived.

Sure, he would have gladly taken the gun and ran if it was anyone else, but there was no way in hell he was going to let Mr. Gray be a distraction just to keep him safe. He was not going to let him get shot just because his family was stupid and violent.
"If you even try to go out there and be a distraction, I swear, I will let him shoot me on the spot," What a wonderful time to be stubborn as an a**. "This has happened before and I've survived every time. If you'd like, I'll show you the scars to prove it later," He reassured Mr. Gray as he snatched the pistol from his hand. Even if he wasn't going to run, he was good with a gun and was sure he could shoot the guy down before he could even c**k the gun. He glanced out the window again, trying to see if he could spot the armed man. ❤═━.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.━═❤

"Graaaaaah! You...stupid, stubborn brat!" Gray said. "Do you think I want to be a distraction? Because I don't! But I'm a ruddy teacher! It's my job to be responsible and keep your sorry a** from getting shot by whatever random weirdo is out there playing with my golems. I..." Dammit! That wasn't it. Well, it was. Because Gray really didn't want to lose this job. But that wasn't the only reason. He dragged his hands through his hair, frustrated. Damn this kid.
Gray grabbed Rose, grasping his face tightly for a moment before resting is forehead against the other boy's. "You are a stubborn fool," he told him. "I don't want you to get hurt. And I've dodged a few assassins myself. And I also survived every time. Can you have a little faith in me? I just want to make sure you are safe."
"If you were to die now, I would...I would...be...very put out."

All he was talking about was his job, and his responsibility. What bull. Rose didn't care in the slightest about any of that.
He growled when Gray held his face still, tempted to shoot him in the foot to make him let go. He was just wasting precious time he could be using to take aim. His stubborn attitude evaporated when Mr. Gray rested his forehead on his own, gazing up at him with a look of curiosity. He finally took a moment to listen to what he had to say, and when he finished, he let out a puff of breath as if he were holding it the entire time. Put out? How... anticlimactic.
"Don't worry. I'll be fine," He told him with a smile before ducking out of his grasp and running out the door before he could catch him. It was stupid, idiotic, moronic, and imbecilic, but he knew what he was doing.
A few gunshots rang out from outside and all was quiet. ❤═━.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸..¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.━═❤
