Lea watched Xerxes nibbling on the cookie he had offered mere moments ago and decided that he might as well help himself to one right now rather than wait till he was back in his room later in the day. The cookies in the bag that he balanced in his palm were warm. A wonderful contrast to the numbing cold that loathed as he was to admit, was starting to bother him a little. Popping the cookie into his mouth and relishing in the flavour that burst forth with every bite, Lea found his mind constantly drifting back to the details of the murder that he had overheard awhile back. Was the Hallow's Eve Ball going to be cancelled? Nah... that didn't seem likely at this point. Not unless someone of importance had been targeted last night.

"Planning to get something for breakfast?" He arched a brow inquisitively at Xerxes' words. Did he say that he was going to the bakery? No no no... going there was a bad idea. If Xerxes was still blissfully unaware of that, he would rather that the situation remain so. "It'll be good to stay indoors if this weather keeps up. Besides, some alterations are in order for the suit that I got yesterday. What about you? More cookies? How about we try one of the cafes nearby?" He proposed gently with a smile, hoping that the dark-haired boy would be amenable to his suggestion.

Rajih was enjoying the treat regardless of the thoughts that plagued him when the famalier scent of peaches wafted into his area and he prepared himself for the Witch eater who seemed to have taken a fancy to him. Emelia slid so effortlessy in the seat across from him, that Rajih just leaned back from his sweet snack and eyed her. His thought's we're drifting in the brooding sea green eyes, something his tea must've done. If you stared long enough, it looked you we're swirling into the depths of the ocean.

That's how he felt with his thoughts though as he grunted in reply to her giggle. "Afternoon Emelia. I'm surprised to see you out and about again." he thought of yesterday and the spectacle that ended up sending Phil back to his teacher's house, Orpheus on his way and Rajih to deal with the Pickled peach girl. Not sure why, he rested his head on the palm of his hand on the table before sighing, staring at her. "I don't know why you wouldn't be upset about the attack. The poor woman..." Rajih shook his head before looking out the window, "She could've had kids, been going home to her lover. What of her parents? Her siblings? Friends? The grief of this event is what bothers me the most. Such a needlessness tragedy that could be avoided...." He shifted his head away from his hand, picking up his discarded spoon and dipping it into his treat, but instead of taking a bit, he swirled it aimlessly. "It's going to be difficult to go to a Ball while everyone is wondering if their neighbor is this....culprit." he didn't use witch eater. Something felt off about the whole series of events, If it was a simple rouge witch eater, how were they constantly out smarting a whole city of people? If it was because of the hunger, their rampage would've been easy to track....a pattern should've been found. And yet nothing. It frustrated Rajih beyond no belief that he couldn't do much either. On his way to training to be a Cerberus Knight, he was nothing more then a freshly graduated witch, with not a lot of power or authority. He looked again with those brooding eyes at Emelia. "You came here again? How'd that happen anyways, didn't think you we're actually one for sweets...." Rajih smiled....a little at her. He hadn't warmed up to her really, but he didn't have to NOT be polite to her, besides....she was cute. Rajih shook his head from those thoughts. No boy, Witch eater. Remember.

Gravy watched in fascination as their inner animals, A snow leopard and a wolf measured each other up. While her personality was more laid back and relaxed, her wolf could have the oddest moments to exert some kinda of predator....aura? she didn't know how to explain it beyond that.

"Ah It could be many things though, Predator to Predator, It could be a kindred soul calling to each other, a natural attraction..." Gravy started before waving her hand, "So many possibilities." She repeated before smiling. "Yes, I am from the Nomadic Tribes of the Hallow though I have made a permanent home for myself in Claus Arbor as a Dream-catcher seller." She continued her soft smile, delighted to meet such a female. She didn't feel at all weirded by the fact that she so easily got along with the other. It was just how she was.

"A beautiful name Shaden." Gravy nodded and elbowed Cruor, who was being stoically silent. Handsome stoically silent, nonetheless...."Goodness, Well then you are just right for us. I need another female eye for our handsome Dragon here. Would you like to join on us on a little...shopping excursion?" Graveyard's eyes twinkled with mischief. She wasn't trying to torment her Black heart friend...no not all. She just wanted to make sure that he was as handsome as he could be at the ball. "Are you going to be at the ball Shaden? Or will you be posted somewhere else?" Graveyard came to walk by the other girl...dragging Cruor regardless of his protest.

Lumena Town Square: Bittersweet Cafe

With all of these dead bodies turning up, Niamh was experiencing mixed emotions: she was worried, given she could not solve the question as to whom was responsible... but she was also very frustrated that someone, somewhere was so powerful they were thwarting her so completely. And when Niamh was troubled, she either read books, or ate sweets. Today, she was eating sweets. And she was eating them at this particular cafe because not only did they make a fantastic parfait, they were also located close to many of the crime scenes; Niamh was collecting clues.

A secret soft spot in her life, sweets soothed all her troubles, but she seldom indulged in them as they were unhealthy and generally spoiled her. She cradled a parfait in one hand, the bird bones of her bracelet clacking together as she lifted it to take a sip. And then, right next to Emelia and Rajih, though she had no idea who they were, she tripped. Everything happened so quickly, but somehow Niamh ended up on her back with the parfait cradled safely in one hand. She licked the couple drops of icecream off her hand, sighed, and got to her feet.

"I sincerely hope I didn't get any parfait on either of you," Niamh apologized to the two, whose names she did not know. "And sorry to interrupt," she finished, with a curtsey. Remnants of her manners lessons, before her parents had died in an accident and then what was apparently a suicide. As far as anyone knew.

Dry and dead leaves scraped across the glass rooftop of the sheltered pass, overhead where the pink-haired Ruria sat on a bench, her legs drawn up to her chest as she hid her face in a dark scarf. At her side lay a package wrapped in brown paper - the dress she'd bought for the upcoming ball. Her face was gloomy today, her eyes watching people, but somehow her gaze always seemed to phase past them, occasionally returning to the area that had earlier been occupied by many detectives. The place where the living 'husk' victim had been found. A husk...that was all that was left. So that's what really happens when a witch eater takes your heart and doesn't kill you out of mercy? That woman must have been out alone. All the victims had been out alone, hadn't they?

"Maybe they'll get me, too, someday." she thought.

She looked around through the crowd for a familiar face. Many she recognized as students, all mingling with their friends or enjoying what was offered in this festival area. She had been at Makai for nearly half a year now. Half of a year, and still, she had been so quiet and so awkward that she had been unable to make friends. At this thought, she instinctively reached for her bag, ready to plunder it of her books about dark magic, and occupy herself with studying, as she always did when such thoughts crept into her mind.

No books. She'd forgotten she'd left them behind for their little vacation. Ruria sighed, extending her hand in a desperate gesture, and summoned the two skulls who, unpleasant as they both truly, truly were, had been the most means of her company thus far.

Bitter appeared, a small chip in his head, and then Biter, who had a large crack over his frontal lobe.

"You two won't cause trouble today, will you? It's almost Halloween." she spoke softly to them. Both skulls looked as if they were seriously considering wreaking havoc immediately in the passageway, but at the mention of Halloween, they paused, and stared at her with their glowing orbs of eyes intently. "If you're good little skulls and don't make problems, I'll give you something good on Halloween."

Mandibles clacking, both skulls let out a trill of excitement, and began swirling around her in as much 'happiness' as two necromanced skulls containing the spirits of who-knows-what could be.

"Give us something so depressing, it makes us tingle with delight," drawled Bitter, in his usual depressive and slightly arrogant voice.
"No!" grumped Biter, who bashed his cranium into that of Bitter. "Give us delicious things! Delicious delectables!"

Ruria raised both eyebrows. "But you're skulls, you can't taste anything."

"What do you know what a skull can or can't do! You're a flesh-sack!" Biter quipped, igniting his blue, ghastly aura in a puff of pride.

Lumena Town Square || walking toward the festival passage

New tension had blown in to replace yesterday's chill.

Azra'ial watched from the corners of his eyes as people cautiously moved about the town square; conversations and general noise all seemed far more hushed than the typical clamor and specters of reapers haunted the out-of-the-way shadows about the square. Not that their presence had made a difference last night... another hollowed out witch had been found: this time a living shell with no magical heart, what a horrific fate. Azra'iel's fists clenched at his side, knuckles white around the grip of the sword he had brought with him and now felt compelled to carry. Why was this happening? How could he help? How could anyone help...

Rosel and Ruria had in fact ended up dancing about the square during the previous evening, to himself, humming, partially remembered tunes. Salem had left before that started, probably to spare himself the torture. Azra'iel had a pleasant enough voice: thankfully, Rosel had enough material to pick on him with; but it had been an awkward situation and singing certainly was not the young man's forte. But it was at least a moment of amusement in the darkness that was pressing in closer and closer. Drawing in a deep breath, the witchling also drew the weak sunlight into himself, mingling the energy with his soul's light and hoping to warm himself.

The wind pattern changed abruptly as he moved into the covered passage to the festival grounds. Most of the detectives had left earlier, but Azra'iel found himself drawn to the area. He generally was not sensitive to ambient energies, but even he could almost feel something here... until vaguely familiar, rather abusive voices jolted his concentration. Looking around, Azra'iel saw Ruria sitting on a nearby bench all but buried in a dark scarf and in the company of her summons. Not wanting to frighten his new friend or draw the wrath of the skulls, he called out a soft greeting.

"A good morning to you, Ruria... and, er, gentlemen? How are you finding the day thus far?"

Lumena: Kyu's Home

Theo was so happy, so happy that Kyu was willing to give him so much, to want this as much as he did. Someone who could and would love him despite his painfully blunt nature, honesty and recklessness. Someone who loved all of him, not just a part of him. And if that person was Kyu, he would do his best to reciprocate, to learn to compromise and just be as accepting of him as Kyu was of him. Everyone had their flaws. And briefly, just for a moment, Theo wondered if it was alright to stay like this. To keep on holding onto each other as if they would die should they separate. And Phil was probably goign to wake up soon. They had been disturbed once already, but the thought flew out of his mind when Kyu asked him to go to the ball. He had been contemplating going, but now he really had no reason to say no, was there? He had kidded when he told Ophelia the lack of a date or otherwise would be the deciding factor, but apparently it was so.

Then before he could really stop to think any further, Phil woke up. After the obvious shock of seeing them, he'd bid them a hasty good morning and rushed out of the room. Theo couldn't help but break away from Kyu to chuckle, his forehead resting against Kyu's. "I suppose we should stop, seeing as everyone seems to have found us out." He murmured softly. But he wanted another kiss. Badly. "And yes, I'll go to the ball if you want me to." He smiled and planted a chaste kiss on Kyu's lips. But then he couldn't resist having another kiss. It was hard to stop really, even for air. It was like a drug, dragging him deeper and deeper, making him crave more and more of it. He was probably being irrational, demanding so much of Kyu but he couldn't help himself. He just wanted more of this happiness, this delirium. The sensation of loving and being loved.

Cruor sighed and gave a slow nod at her words concerning his desire to spend as much of his time alert and watchful as he could. Her words held wisdom which he immediately recognized but the situation had left him incredibly frustrated and feeling... Useless. It was as if, in a way, having someone before a victim when he was present stung on a personal level despite the fact that he knew, deep down, there was nothing he could have done to prevent it.

"Do not exhaust yourself. It would be as beneficial as me exhausting myself on a hunt for a nameless foe would." he cautioned, frowning a little at her next words and looking back over to the other Reaper. "No. Also I do not recognize her. I do not know every Reaper in the organization."

In all honesty the bond that Graveyard had referred to was completely foreign to him. He could not remember the last time he had even felt close to anyone ever since the events that had pushed him to join the Reapers in the first place. Thus, as he watched them interact, it was with a sense of envy, a sense of being an outsider, looking in, thus he opted to remain silent for the exchange. He gave a small nod upon being introduced, otherwise remaining quiet, his hand sliding to stroke the hilt of his blade beneath his cloak.

This Shaden was an interesting pick for a Reaper. Then again, he supposed not all of them were quite as stern or cold as he was and didn't have to be. It was simply the way that Cruor was, after all, and it aided in making him a rather efficient With Eater hunter... But little else. Mentally he wondered if, perhaps, he had lost a part of himself to duty but quickly pushed such thoughts aside. If he had lost a part of who he was over the years, then it was for the greater good and he would be willing to sacrifice a great deal when it came to the greater good.

Cruor was jarred from his musings when Graveyard elbowed him, causing him to shoot her a wildly annoyed look; he was surprised he'd felt it at all, given his armor. However at the mention of having another set of female eyes with them, he shot Graveyard an appalled look before his eyes narrowed quickly in disapproval; he had agreed to shop with Graveyard, not be at the mercy of two female mononokes' fashion senses. That was going a little far and would push his discomfort at the entire idea of wearing something that wasn't really... him to a whole other level.

"Do I not get a say in this?" Cruor snapped, finally speaking up after his lengthy silence. "I did not agree to this, Graveyard."

Graveyard didn't seem to hear him, instead dragging him along with her, causing him to stumble a little and quickly glance around, making sure that nobody was watching his public humiliation. Heaving an irritated sigh he shifted his strides to walk beside them, his entire form exuding discomfort and annoyance at his entire situation. One female helping him choose an outfit was bad enough. However a second which he did not even know aiding in the endeavor was a horrible turn of events. Absolutely horrible.

Xerxes turned his attention back to Lea after another quick sweeping dart of his eyes around the area. Even if someone currently wandering around the town square was the culprit behind the attacks, he had no way of figuring out just who it might be. It could be anyone! And since the person hadn't been caught yet, he or she was very good at pulling off these attacks, especially under the noses of so many Reapers.

"Ah, yeah," Xerxes said with a nod. "I thought I would check out the bakery, see what they have. Maybe grab a bagel or five." If not, he could always take in the delicious aroma that always wafted through the bakery. He hugged his arms around his body. "It is a bit too chilly to stay outdoors," he agreed as a shiver ran through his body. "I have to get to altering my suit too." His gaze dropped to Lea's tail, and he chuckled. Lea was probably one of the few people that could understand his plight with clothing and having to make alterations. "Oh yes!" Xerxes agreed quickly to the suggestion. "I could use a hot drink to warm me up."

Unlike the human, the snow leopard within her was much more at ease and rather playful. She had no problems with this other woman. This...wolf. Once the initial size up was done with, the feline half of her receded some, not at all bothered by the strange other...aura that tasted of wolf and predator. Shaden meant Graveyard no harm. Therefore, there was no need for a contest of predators.

Shaden's lips twitched, a real smile forming. "You are correct. It could indeed be may possibilities." And whichever it was, she wasn't going to complain. "Of the Nomadic Tribes?" Her ears perked a little at this. The Reaper had never met any of the Tribes people before. She was faintly aware of them, but other than knowing they existed, she sadly knew nothing else about them. "Oh, so you make Dream-catcher's then?" Interesting. And kinda neat.

"Thank you." She replied, a little shyly. Compliments were not something she was used to hearing very often. Nor was such...normal interactions with people. Her gaze flickered towards Cruor hesitantly when Graveyard made her offer. He didn't seem inclined to agree with this. Though, he might not be used to such interactions either. It wasn't usually something in the job description of a Reaper. And he was a step above her as a Black Heart.

"I...err, well." Shaden stumbled over her words, ending up just walking with the two. What was she supposed to say? This was all new. Or rather, something she had not done in a long while. "S-Shopping excursion?" Well it wasn't like she had anything else to do right now. Besides scowl at those that walked along the streets or brood. "If...if neither of you mind that much, I'd be glad to tag along." As for the this ball though... "Umm...I guess I might be. I've not been told to leave here yet. Haven't really planned much as far as the ball itself goes. Though I suppose another Reaper there wouldn't hurt..."

Feeling bad for leaving Cruor out of conversation (this was awkwaaaard), Shaden glanced over at him. "What about you? Have you...received any other word aside from 'Go to Lumena'?"

Emelia paused to think about just why she kept bugging Rajih. Oh right. Fun to tease and torment. "Grunt a little louder and you'll start giving people ideas! Tsk tsk." Waving her spoon at him, she didn't let the teasing go on for long. "It shouldn't be that surprising, the best place to hide is often right under the noises of those looking for you." The waitress came and deliver her treat, and the witch eater smiled, pausing a little long while staring at the woman's other treat on the tray. Was that a tart? Emelia made note to order one next time.
"Seriously though Rajih, whoever this stealer of hearts is they're mucking things up. Its a waste to devour a heart whole. Drain and leave, a heart once in a blue moon maybe. This-" Sighing she stuck the spoon in the parfait. "It's senseless. Causing trouble when there shouldn't be any. I'm certainly upset, if for a different reason. I-"

Pink eyes shot open as a girl tripped near, that was most unexpected. "...." Looking at her self with a bored expression, Emelia shrugged. "I can't see any. And it's fine. I would have been upset if I had to change my clothes but I don't think so." A sly smile as she looked at a with across from her. "What do you think Rajih?" She leaned forward, wondering if his face would go red like it had in the past.

Kyu's home, Lumena

Kyu smiled softly. It was a strange feeling, the one he had. It was strange to have any sort of genuine feeling as far as he was concerned. He had never been able to fully feel before in his life only to find himself doing that so suddenly. It was dizzying almost and he feared his mind shutting down of him out of pure disability to process everything occurring everywhere around. Phil waking up had also been something unexpected, but then again it had also been their fault for taking so long. "It's... more complicated than just a date, though. There's the possibility of placing yourself in danger..." he replied quietly, pulling away just a little so he could watch Theo, worried. He had faith in his student, he knew he was strong. He had seen his talent and could acknowledge the hard work he was putting in his training but even so. He'd be attending a ball that was supposed to be a social event but where everyone would be suspicious of one another. He, himself, could easily be turned into a scapegoat if his true identity was revealed. A witch eater knight...? Of course he'd be pointed as the culprit. And that was only half of the problem. The real culprit would get away. Theo could be also placed in danger... he had always been reckless after all.

"We should go have some breakfast." he suggested, trying his best to smile again, albeit more faintly. "You need it," he pointed out since Theo hadn't really eaten anything since the day before when he had collapsed on the street at the very least. "Philemon will be worried also." he added, not to mention they also had... a few things to explain if nothing else, he noticed.

Lumena Town Square

Phil on the other hand was restless. It hadn't been so much the fact that he had just caught his brother and teacher in the act, as a matter of fact that was more or less pushed to the back of his mind almost entirely. No. His main issue was that he really wanted to go out, he hadn't that much time to spare there. He wanted to find Orpheus as soon as possible himself and so, removing the teapot from the stove he made haste to scribble a small note that he would come back later in the evening and headed out.

Pausing on his way down the stairs to look ahead into the small alleyway and the square up ahead he wondered if everyone from the other day would still be hanging around there. With that in mind he set off again, hands unconsciously adjusting his outfit so he looked less disheveled. He had noticed he hadn't had the time to check himself in the mirror only after he had moved on. Collapsing on that couch probably wasn't such a good idea, but he couldn't have done otherwise.

Sighing softly he navigated his way through the neatly paved streets and finally exited on the square. He stretched and fixed his glasses better up his nose before looking around, in search for someone he might as well as recognize.

Lumena: Kyu's Home

Theo chuckled a little. It had been a while since he had felt so free, so light. He wanted to laugh, he wanted to run around like a child. It was that same carefree laughter and joy that he was feeling now. But reality came crashing back in. The ball. While Kyu's fears wasn't unfounded, he was perfectly capapble of looking after himself. "I'll be fine." He smiled ruefully. "I'm not a little kid anymore." He could look after himself. After all, he was reckless -yes, he admitted it- but he could look after himself. Unless he was that terribly outclassed. He definitely wasn't in a Black Heart or Cerberus Knight's league, but he could handle himself almost as well as the average Reaper. He wasn't completely helpless after all. "Don't worry about me." He smiled wryly. "I'm not helpless, there'll be a lot of people there, I'm not going to die." He paused for a moment. Okay, he couldn't guarantee that really. "Okay, I'm not sure about the dying but at least I can look after myself." He stretched lazily and pulled a little further away from Kyu, yawning.

"Breakfast sounds good." He smiled as he pulled the covers aside, swinging his feet on the cold floor. "Phil won't worry much, if at all. Knowing him, he probably went to fix breakfast." Theo made a face. "Well, tea and fruit doesn't sound too bad, at least." The air was unusually chilly, or so it seemed. Winter was definitely setting in by the feel of it. "I'll go brush my teeth and get dressed." Theo yawned as he started towards the bedroom door.

After getting dressed, Theo went towards the kitchen where sure enough, a steaming teapot was sitting. And a scrap of paper. Theo frowned when he read the note, none too pleased that Phil had just run out. But his brother was entitled to do as he pleased. Theo couldn't stop him. However, he spotted Ophelia hanging around, and she looked somewhat.. forlorn. "Ophelia?" Theo shot her a curious glance. "Tea?" He asked, pouring a cup for himself and one for her anyways. "Here." He passed a cup of steaming tea to her and wondered what made her look so upset this early in the morning. But it wasn't his place to pry. She could tell him if she wished.

A gentle male voice had sounded in her direction, and Ruria opened half-lidded eyes that had been lost in thought, tilting her head to look towards the source. Seeing it was Azra'iel, she gave a soft tilt of her head and a smile of greeting.

Before she could speak, Bitter replied. "Dismal, dreary....like everyday in my miserable existence."
Ruria facepalmed, a look of despair on her face. "Don't mind them, they're supposed to be on their best behavior, or I'll deny them any form of delectables." Ruria picked up her brown paper package, placing it in her lap to make room for Az to sit, if he so chose. "Did you hear that they found another body today? Except, it was still alive this time." Her gaze left his lithe figure to glance towards the area where a few detectives still lingered, speaking with serious looks on their faces. "I don't know what I'd ever do without my magic or voice."

Lumena Town Square

What about his hair? Orpheus reached a hand up and ruffled it a little, with a sigh and a wry smile. "Guess it can't be helped, huh. Too bad," he lamented. He burst into laughter as Salem suggested that he was meticulously vain. "I don't think I can be meticulously anything, Salem," he replied. It was true that Salem sounded a little bit crazy every time they talked, but it really didn't bother Orpheus. It was just a cadence, and it was Salem's cadence; no one else's. He liked that sound. It was one that no one could duplicate, not that he'd met.

Even when Orpheus hadn't really managed to connect with anyone at the academy, meeting Salem while trying to form his band had been a sign from some other power that they were meant to be in each other's company. That was what being best friends was for, wasn't it? Orpheus shared music with Salem, which was more than he could say of the others he had met. So they'd play for crowds, and they'd put on shows, and it felt more alive than anything he could think of.

Orpheus arched a brow at his friend, as cookie crumbs seemed perpetually perched at the edge of his mouth, waiting to tumble out. He took a step a little further away. "Think you could eat any more chaotically?" he asked Salem, a half smile on his face, his eyes glinting. Something in his mind made him sad, for a moment. He looked away, up at the sky. Didn't really matter to have words, not all the time. Sometimes being able to vocalize a thing was not the be-all and end-all.

He was glad he could make Salem laugh, however, and the single clone tear from his false eye failed to disturb him despite how it once had.

Orpheus nodded as Salem mentioned events had been "interesting" lately. He took a deep breath and swallowed the last bite of a cookie, his final cookie for now; too much sugar would make him crazy, with this little sleep. "Didn't think of it that way; wonder what might happen there... I hope if something does happen, everyone's still safe." Orpheus displayed a rare moment of concern over the wellbeing of others. He did care, he just didn't show it often. Why else would he want to become a reaper? He would one day punish those who harmed others needlessly. He wasn't much of a protector, was all; he was offense, not defense.

"I was supposed to go..." he began, thinking of Philemon again, "but circumstances may have changed." After all, Phil had never answered him, had he? One of the contributors to Orpheus' sleepless night.

That was about when he spotted Phil fixing his glasses and looking around. His face lit up and his throat tightened. He clasped Salem on the shoulder for a moment, and said "I've got to go do something, you can come with me, or wait here; I'll be back if you wait, up to you." With that, he opened a portal to Phil down the street, even though he was in sight in the first place. He pulled Phil into his arms and spun him lightly, so that Phil's feet were barely missing the ground, and then put him back down. He still didn't let go, burying his face against Phil's neck. His lips against the skin, he mumbled, "I love you, Philemon." He paused, and then added, "Did you get a chance to think about what I asked you?" Orpheus stood back a little, keeping hold of Phil's hand, and then glanced over his shoulder to see where Salem was. He hadn't really displayed this kind of affection to anyone in front of Salem before.

Lumena, Kyu's home

Kyu watched Theo intently, his gaze still clouded. He didn't want to think what would happen, what could happen if his own cover was blown. He didn't want to think what endangering Theo would feel like. He had become a knight to treat the grey line as well as he possibly could but now that he was making choices, well... He'd have to fight, really fight if he wanted to be able to protect anyone. He brought to mind everything he held dear. The other knights that he had spent countless nights with on patrol or in the frontlines, his students, Phil, Theo, that girl too, Ophelia. They were all important; each and every one of them. "It's... not about being a child or not." he sighed, sitting up, hands moving to make his hair into a ponytail to keep them out of the way as well as he could. Phil knew best to worry about his brother... he could understand now. "If you say 'don't worry' it only makes me worry more." he chuckled softly at that despite it being entirely true. It was just, he couldn't shake this feeling off, that something was wrong, that something would go wrong. With so many people there the culprit was sure to make an appearance sooner or later, and when he would an uproar would occur. People get scared easily; and the more scared the more irrational they become. It would be a matter of time until they turned on one another. "Just promise to keep careful and not stray too far away?" as much as he wished to simply enjoy the ball with Theo he just couldn't just do that, in the end.

Nodding at Theo's comment of going off to get ready he deemed it best to do the same, so taking advantage of the privacy he simply headed to the wardrobe to get himself changed into the comfortable, soft clothes he almost always would wear at home plus an equally comfortable, yet warm poncho to protect against the rather chilly weather that heralded the winter that was only starting to set in. He took a few moments to study himself in the mirror and he felt his shoulders slump. When everything was said and done... would Theo still accept him if he could see the wings he hid from the world? Would anyone...? Of all the humans he had met he could only ever count on Phil for accepting him -and as a matter of fact he was the only living human that knew about the colorless, semi-transparent butterfly wings resting on his back. Sighing softly he shrugged the thought of deciding it wasn't exactly the time to address the issue -especially with a reaper staying over at his house, however friendly- and hurried himself out of the door to meet with Theo and said reaper.

"Why, good morning." he found himself greeting her, watching Theo pass her a cup of tea. He smiled, despite his prior thoughts and glanced around in search of Theo who seemed to be apparently quite gone by the time. He secretly hoped they hadn't been the reason he had ran off in such a hurry, but then again Phil was hardly the type to go out just because of that.

Lumena Town Square

Phil hadn't had much time to look around as apparently he had been spotted before he even had the chance to, apparent by Orpheus appearing in front of him through a portal. He was in such a dazed state that he even failed to be surprised at the sudden appearance, finding himself lifted off the ground briefly before being placed back down, a kiss at his neck as Orpheus said he loved him. And it sounded almost too good to be true, or perhaps Phil was just more tired than he had assessed, a bit more weary that resulted into becoming overly emotional but he found tear welling up in the corners of his eyes, threatening to fall. And he was only too glad that Orpheus wasn't mad at him for not replying yesterday that it made him happy, thankful enough to want to just hug him and apologize a million times over. Would a million times even be enough...? He could do little but wonder. "I'm so sorry..." his lips moved but he wasn't sure he had managed to make any sound at all so his shook his head a little trying to clear his throat before looking up, his hand comfortably held in Orpheus' own. "Of course I'll go with you." he finally managed to say. "There's nothing I'd like more..." he felt his voice getting caught and he paused to keep his feelings in check. "I tried to say so yesterday, but it just didn't work out..." he was dragged out before he could and overcome by worry for his brother he hadn't thought twice before leaving the others.

Watching Orpheus glance back, curiosity overcame him as to what he might be looking at and he found himself tracing the glance to find out for himself, certain that whatever it was it must have been quite important.
