Meanwhile, Tim's communicator crackled in. A mid-southern voice that Kai might recognize was talking. Despite more of the Chuck Yeager-esque calmness, the panic was still in his voice.
"Hello?!? Robin? Red Cardinal? Somebody?!? This is C.J. Benoit. You don't know me but we got us a situation heah on Arthur and 42nd street. Please copy . . . an' bring an ambulance or somethin'!"

Jinx blinked hard, when she heard the crackling message on RC's comm and quickly scarfed her eggs and waffles, Crap! Crap!! Why breakfast?

Tim gestured to the cupboards and fridge to the new arrival who had come from the cave.
"Sure-"
He was most of the way through his eggs when his comm kicked into life with urgency. He set down the plate, immediately pulling the device to his face to respond back. He glanced briefly around to see who was hurrying to get ready- or rather, who was coming along.
"This is Robin, we're on our way, C.J.- what's the situation?"
He was already heading out the kitchen as he spoke. Here they go again. Tim hadn't been expecting such a long break in the action anyway, though the rest was clearly well recieved by the rest of the group staying at the manor.

The voice in the communicator calmed down.
"Thank GOD! Alright, so the good news is that we have the impostor Batman. He's more or less on our side. The bad news is, some wacko with a pet snake wants Red Cardinal and it just attacked my best friend. That and Jonah Hex just got hit by a car. That's as far as I know, but there may be more down in the sewer." he said through the radio.

"The heck?"
Kai looked up from her bottle of wine setting it down with a bit of force on the table. She ran up to Tim and pulled his communicator from his hand. She couldn't quite make out what was said other than man with a snake, on the comm but she did hear that southern voice.
"This is Red Cardinal, what did the man look like, what was this snake? If it's the person I think is, don't let it spit at or bite anyone, /period/ we'll be on our way."
Kai shut the communicator and handed it back to Tim.
"Grayson and I should go. Tim I don't want you getting hurt by this man."
She looked back at d**k who had just gotten his breakfast. She looked a bit worried, something she really hadn't shown to anyone in this world she felt. Kai bit her lip and shook her head as if she wasn't ready to go out into Gotham now knowing who was there.
"Worst person for me to fight ever, aside from Bane."
Damian looked rather annoyed with Kai after catching his plate. He took one bite and set it aside standing up. He pulled out a retractible blade.
"I'm coming too, no one can tell me I can't... And wench you are not the boss of me, you are far too weak and in-superior. Look at you, you look too afraid to even step out of the door."
He smirked placing it visibly at his side.
"Oh my god kid, this isn't a game... and I have every right to not like this person. You need to stay here, maybe when there are some hack ninja's attacking a grocery store you can join us to stop them."
She took her backpack from around her and put on her shawl turning out her RC letters in gold and pulled on her gloves. She placed her mask over her worried expression pulling her hair around the new mask shape fluffing it out to its normal roughness.

Tim stopped and stared at Kai as he aquired a startled look.
"...you're saying I shouldn't go?"
His surprise was very clear, but he let his brain work it through-- clearly by the way she spoke through his comm, she was expecting a particular person. Tim didn't know anyone with a giant pet snake, but maybe from the world Kai was from, she was well 'aquainted'. Had something happened in 'her verse' that had cautioned her enough to suggest him not help out on this one?
"...she's right, Tim."
d**k as well could remember a giant snake-----... well, his head was still a bit fuzzy, but for some reason he understood what direction Red Cardinal was coming from. Nightwing was able to take a single bite of his plate before he turned to the youngest in the room.
"I'm with Kai on this one, Damian. You can come on the next patrol- and where do you keep getting these?"
He made a face at the small blade in Damian's possession.

"I'm not a kid, and It doesn't matter where I get them d**k. "
He looked away angrily. He contemplated not saying another word but instead try and sneak behind them on this mission and come to cut off the criminals head in the blink of an eye. It would sure show her, he thought to himself. And then maybe she wouldn't question his skill or his strength anymore. He really didn't much care for anybody in the room, especially Tim.
"I want to be Robin."
He said suddenly glaring at Timothy.
"If you leave without me I will steal that position from him."
He pointed his blade at Tim threateningly with an unwavering stare.

Tim quickly switched his attention from Kai to Damian. Was he really pointing that blade at him?
"Now where did this come from?"
He blinked at the young boy's behavior- was this what d**k was talking about before?
So this young Damian was already at that stage... oh fun. Though, with Jinx, Wally, Tim, and a variety of others occupying the manor at this time, Richard didn't expect the young Wayne to get what he wanted. Once Damian's attention was on Tim, d**k did his best to swipe the weapon from Damian- the boy would have to be expecting this at the exact moment to react in time.
"This is hardly the time. Stay here."

Damian pulled the blade back from d**k's grabby hands and held it away.
"Fine"
He looked away angrily.
"But take this trash out with you when you go."
He smirked angrily as a kid would and put his blade at his side. He looked back up and gazed at Tim as if to mention "I'm going to be robin" Damian stuck his tongue out at Tim and walked towards the kitchen table sitting at a chair slumping over setting his chin on one of his hands leaning forward. He grumped not being able to get what he wanted.
"What is his problem? Look kid, if you hurt a hair on Tim by the time I get back I swear I will pay you back for it while Tim is watching."
Kai said. She was completely ready to go by now and headed towards the cave.
"d**k let's go stock up on supplies and get the hell out of here before those Cajuns get killed."
"That is if he's still alive."
He mumbled under his breath glaring down at the table.

Tim looked between the two --Kai and Damian-- as they split different ways. What was it with this place? Either people were incredibly protective of him, or they wanted to kill him. He looked at Richard with another expression that non verbally expressed his confusion.
"You'll... get used to it."
d**k shook his head and followed behind Kai for the cave.
"We'll check in."
Tim watched the two leave before he entered the kitchen again, scratching the back of his neck. After a moment's thought, he picked his communicator up again and spoke through.
"C.J., Red Cardinal and Nightwing are coming. Hang in there."
(...sorry, kinda felt like we got further ahead. Would most of the others have been in the kitchen for that, because those batkids were outside the kitchen already.... right?)

Alex had moved to the cupboards Tim had indicated and went about making something to take down to the cave for her and Sapphire. For a while, she was relieved and rather happy that the group seemed...normal for being in such a nice mansion.
Theeennnn the kid opened his mouth.
She cringed, bit her bottom lip, forced herself to focus on making food, and tried hard not to listen in on the conversation despite her enhanced hearing. It was proof that most people had more patience than her, considering no one decked the brat. SHE certainly felt like knocking him down a few pegs, and she was no where near involved with...whatever was going on.
Still biting her lip, she kept her focus on making some food, and pretty much ignored the child as he came back into the room and continued to grumble. She needed to focus on what she was doing anyway. She had a tendency to burn food. Especially when she was irritated.
And Sapphire was picky about burnt food.

((Remind me not to have an in-guild crisis before breakfast.))
C.J.'s voice rattled through the speaker. "Sounds good. I'll try t' hold control 'til y'all get here! I think Arell made it out though, RC. Just lemme know when y'all are close!" he yelped through the speaker before a splash was heard on the communicator, signifying that he dove into the sewer to join the fight.

Jinx finished her waffles and eggs in record time, then she chugged a glass of orange juice. Just as soon as she set the glass down on the table, Roshni was off like a shot. Bounding up the stairs two at a time, the goth sorceress had flung off her robe -- then the silk pajama top went flying off and the bottoms just as she streaked into the bedroom she had been occupying, slamming the door behind her.
A few minutes later, Jinx emerged at Batgirl... making a couple of adjustments for her hurried donning of the form-fitting costume. Once 'Batgirl' was confortable enough for action, Jinx bounded down the stairs avoiding the previously discarded clothing. Once reaching the ground floor, Jinx began running for the grandfather clock that she had entered the Manor, already adjusting her voice to mimic Barbara's, "Alright guys, where in Gotham are we going?"

"Jinx?"
Kai turned and looked up to the Manor where a voice called. She had nearly finished stalking her belt with tools she would find usefull against the man who was hurting those trigger happy gun slingers. She thought a moment and then looked at Grayson.
"Should we bring her with us? She's that one girl with bad luck isn't she?"
((Too lazy to move to Batcave just to move to Gotham :I))

Richard had been doing the same: stalking up his belt after he acquired his blue and black uniform. He looked up towards the staircase as well and nodded.
"She's... yes, I think that snake could use a little bad luck."
His face twisted in a moment of thought; he had assumed this Jinx was from a different verse by the way she was acting and her relationship with Wally --who wouldn't know Tim at that age from the timeline Richard had arrived from-- which proved even more that both of them were from a different reality than him.
In a way, it saddened him- Wally was his best friend, and since he was a good decade older, it was clear his speedster friend hadn't recognized him...
