[===] Valerick Seredes [===]

Valerick nodded to the both of them again, accepting their graciousness to him. " I believe our armorer can come up with a very fitting chain mail that wouldn't restrict your movements too much while still allowing you to wear your coat over it." Valerick looked over at the pegasus as he finished his statement and smiled. They were always such graceful and beautiful creatures. No matter how much he tried, he knew that his own personal horse would never compare to the beauty that a pegasus ever had. Valerick turns around and takes the papers Alex laid on the table, setting them apart so they weren't stacked. "Well. Now then, as Alex said; just fill out this paperwork for us and we should be able to continue on with this."

Nuo really had no choice but to stay quiet during all of it and to tell the truth, it actually bothered her. She wanted to be able to do something but it was impossible with how her brother was. He wanted her to be almost the perfect guardsman so that their father would not be mad at her. She knew how high her father's expectations were and her face somewhat drained of color as she thought about it, but when she heard Lloyd say that they were sold, she was happy. Her smile returned to her face as she thought about the fact there would be yet another female guard for her to relate to. "Welcome to the Guard." Nuo said, hoping that her brother wouldn't get mad at her for saying that much. Valerick just laughed a little bit and returned to helping Alex in assisting the two new members in filling out their papers.

Lloyd took the paper work from the knight and handed a copy to Trinity. They both signed their names with Trinity adding Helios' too. Handing back the papers Lloyd looked at the knights, now his fellow guards, "Thank you, I will wear the crest proudly." He shook their hands.
"Underneath your coat." Trinity added with a snicker.
Lloyd made a look of surprise at that comment. She was finally coming out of her shell. He laughed too. "So now, where do we go from here?" He asked the knights. He looked down at Trinity and smiled. The pegasus knight smiled back and handed their paperwork back to the knight while adding, "I look forward to working with you Lady Knight."

After his business at the Host Club, Roy had wandered around the Job Fair just to see what else was going on. Familiar faces were plentiful. Leon was managing the Watch, though Tibarn's arrival followed by the scene with Marina caused him to stay away just for a tad bit. The Guard was attempting to recruit, but it seemed like a pair of white-clad knights were one-upping the actual person in charge of recruitment.

He caught sight of a green haired girl clad in brown darting through the crowd, and for some reason, seemed familiar. He pondered for a moment, wondering where he had seen her, and then remembered, snapping his fingers. She was the Divine Dragon girl he and his Uncles were talking to a little while before the siege. Tiki, was it? He was pretty sure that was her name when they had that dinner together. Speaking of that event... he should probably give his Uncles the letter Ninian had left behind...

He decided to go greet the Dragoness. The redhead followed after her through the crowd, then called out to her.

"Hey, Tiki!" he called out when he was near her.

[Long introduction post, will start interacting with others in my next.]

"...Oh dear. Seems I've done made a mess of things around here! Saleh is going to tan my hide for sure!"

Granted, it had been some time since the War of the Stones. Ewan had more then grown into a capable Sage by this time. Even so, he was still the same old Ewan! His eyes burned with the youthful passion and curiosity that fueled his studies. Mischief was still a favorite pastime of his, much to the chagrin of his master. A few inches had been claimed, a fact that he was a bit sore about...Indeed, he wasn't really secretive about the whole thing! His height was one of the few things that set him off! Many a day had gone by that Saleh woke up to find his tomes washed away in the river after such incidents. Oh yes...The boy was a hurricane of disaster when pointed in the right direction. Really, it was all "just a testament to all my hard work!" Yes...He had been busy during these past years...Except for more practical magicks that is.

"No! Not the buckets! Just...Grah! Put them away! Stop moving, you're just making the whole situation worse! Who thought bewitching brooms to clean would be a good idea!? ...Oh wait...Don't answer that me!"

It was pandemonium! Pure bloody chaos! Dishes clattered to the ground as the incompetent brooms fumbled ineptly at their work, knocking them over as they passed by. Ewan could only mutter to himself, referencing the ill-kept tome that was the recesses of his mind for a spell to fix the whole mess. There wasn't much time! They were already invading the upper parts of the study! Wait, might as well take care of the problem itself!

"Alright! Time to whip out the old Fire spell!"

His hands guided the pages of his tome by instinct, a method repeated several times in his mind, becoming a regular part of his waking memory. Words were whispered underneath his breath, hands burning with arcane might. It was just as his master had said, "It's not the strength of the spell, it's how you use it!"

And this happened to be a piss-poor example.Turns out, setting sentient brooms on fire was the WORST idea imaginable! The brooms simply continued on their work, the flames spreading across their body and onto other parts of the study. ...Wait...Now everything was on fire!

"Oh man! Oh man! Oh geeze! This is bad! This is very, very, very bad! Well, maybe I can get to the emergency-"

And that's when the utility in question burst open from its container, the glass shatter from the heightened heat. Saleh had kept a rather large orb of water in the next room, to be masterfully manipulated in case of one of Ewan's slip-ups with his fire tome. This...This was not how it was meant to be utilized. Water crashed into the room, wanting to spread out as it does, flooding the entire study! Books were left dripping once it was flushed out by design, Ewan left gasping and choking on the ground.

"...Oh crud! I-I have to clean this up!

He dashed, gunned it as fast as his legs could take him. "Darn you stunted development!" The pupil cried, panicking at the thought of him unable to clean up the mess by Saleh's return. Oh man...As patient and understanding of a teacher Saleh was, his fury was not what you wanted to bring down onto you! The youth still had recurring nightmares over some of his harsher punishments. The man just had a way with magicks, a very..very terrifying way. But there was still hope! Inside the master room of the study, there was a sort of fail-safe that reset the house's condition if it had been effected by magicks recently. It was, yet again, another tool installed to pick up after his messes...

He really needed to work on that.

But...Which one...Which door was it?! The most confusing thing about complicated magicks was how elaborate the more advanced spells and inter-weaving could become. Saleh had expanded the study several times what it appeared the be on the outside, though for some reason he found the idea that it could be configured for time traveling to be stupid. Thems were the breaks. Anyway, it had the unfortunate side-effect of making the house pretty damn hard to navigate. However...After years of study and much time devoted to the answer, Ewan had devised the perfect tool in order to make his way through the house.

"...Enie, Minnie, Mini, Mo. Catch a Gerik by the toe. If he hollers, let him go. For Tethys will stike me so. There!"

He reached out for his selected door, twisting the handle with anticipation and panic. There wasn't much time and the brooms were still proceeding with their work! He really had to hand it to them, they were tenacious little buggers! However, it was not to be. A bright light engulfed him, his body pulled into the spacial hole that opened up at the door's opening. It was like his senses went into overload, the room starting to spin as his ear rang, head pounding as the last thing he heard was this.

"EWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"

================>

"Oi! Stop loafing around and get to a booth! We don't need any lollygagging whelps like you at a job fair! Get to work you!"

Oi...Saleh...Even when he was sleeping, the instruction never ended. Why couldn't he ever just rest a few more minutes...? It was starting- Wait. Job fair? Had he finally gone daffy? What could he be-...That was NOT Saleh. This was NOT the study!

"Great...Don't tell me I stumbled onto a teleportation glyph or something. This is why I stay out of Space and Time! That sort of Ball of Time-whimey-wobbliness is just...GRAH! Now...Where exactly am I?"

Upon hearing her own name through the hustle and bustle of the crowd, Tiki spun around and looked towards the fellow who called her. She remembered that orange mop of hair... Yes! It was Roy! FD's nephew, was he? She still didn't really know how that worked.

"Roy! Hello Roy!" She responded. She went over to meet him. "Are you enjoying the Job Fair? There's just so much to see!" She grinned confidently. She had definitely gotten her nerves more settled since they last met, Oh yes. After that awful forest battle and right before that final siege. The latter of which Tiki made sure to stay away from as best she could. They didn't need her, and she didn't want to make anything worse for anyone, especially since she didn't really know what was going on then.

She still didn't know as much as she felt she should. She had to be careful. Because even back from her world, there was still plenty she didn't know.
Tiki suppressed a yawn.

"Where are you going now? Let's walk together and talk."

x - [Leon] - x

User ImageAs anyone could image, Leon's fiery words had come back to bite him. It seemed like they always did. Just as he thought he was going to get the last word, here came Marina. She had used a string of foul language and even dared to use physical violence against him and Sain?! He wouldn't stand for that! "Why you-" He said after recovering from the sudden blow. The Watch's Captain was about to swing, but he stopped mid-air.

Two things happened. One, Tibarn gave him an order to watch Vah, and two, Amelia gave him the cue to calm down. Regrettably, he ended up lowering his fist. He should have known better than to disregard the crew's orders, so he would have to be the one who lets it go for now. Quieting his temper and all the words he wanted to say, Captain Vatara let out a sigh and said "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on her."

And when they were out of his sight, he sank back into his chair, wondering both Sain and Saifer were thinking about the whole scene? He hoped that neither one found him either too impulsive to speak so loudly against a superior, or maybe even too submissive to simply back off the way he did. Just as he was about to get lost in thought though, Vah sat right in front of him, cross-legged. The Captain was startled to see her just appear there, asking what he was doing.

"Er... just workin', like usual." He said casually. "Are ya hungry or anything? After I write a few more things down, I'm takin' these two and gettin' a bite to eat." He said, motioning to his two newest recruits, still hoping they were not scared of Eyris because of that bad encounter.

Saifer Griimro

By this point, Saifer had risen to his feet and backed several feet away from the table. There were now two beast-people, one of which seemed to have quite a nasty temperament. If he didn't figure that no real violence would break out on the Eyris streets in broad daylight, he might have just forgot the whole thing and left. He didn't know what was going on with the human woman or the beast-people at all or why there was a child with the big hawk-man.

When the situation had finally been resolved, the unnoticed Saifer silently made his way back to the chair and sat down, gazing at the back of the departing Tibarn warily. He was trying to remember what it was that had interested him in the conversation with the beast-people. He knew it had come during the talk with the hawk-man, but...

'...Ah, yeah. Elibe.' Saifer's eyed lightened up and he looked over at Sain, leaning forward and intending to address the recruit that had gotten the back of the hawk-girl's hand. Suddenly, though, he heard Leon speak. "Eh? You are?" he asked, surprised that the Captain would be treating them to a meal. This Watch sure had money to spare.

User ImageAlex nodded to Lloyd's question. "Yes of course, I don't see why not. Unless a commander says otherwise, I've only recently been promoted so I am unsure of how correct my own knowledge is. But to my knowledge, there should be no problem, but training with other soldiers within the guard isn't a bad thing once in a while either." he answered as he turns to Trinity as she asked if there were any other pegasus knight. He answered her question with a simple nod. "One of them was just here at this booth earlier, but she had to go somewhere.

He assisted Lloyd and Trinity with the help of the female knight fill out their papers to join the guard. Once they finished filling out the papers he said, "Welcome and we're glad you chose to join the guard." He twitched inside his own head for a moment as he said that. Alex was never a man of formalities and saying such formal things felt really awkward to him almost like leaving a weird taste in his mouth. However he shook the feeling away as he realized he never got the name of the two white knights. "Oh by the way, I never got your names," he said towards Valerick and Nuo. "I'm Alex, Captain in the Guard." he said extending a hand towards the brother first.

"Ahh. My apologies. My name is Valerick. Valerick Seredes." Valerick turned to where he was better facing Alex and smiled at the man. He actually knew very little about him even though they were both members of the guard. It made him wonder if that was normal or not, but either way, he just continued on. "This here is my younger sister Nuo Seredes. One of the newer members of the guard." He pointed over towards his sister to signify he was talking about her.

When Valerick introduced her to Alex, she was a bit agitated that she couldn't introduce herself, but none the less, she took a very small bow towards the man. Her armor restricted too much movement and made it uncomfortable to go through a full bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you sir." She smiled much like her brother and then returned to standing at attention.

Joshua's business with finding a job doubly completed he turned away from Lance as the man was bombarded by more newcomers. He paused to clap Innes on the shoulder. "Good luck Innes, if you need anything swing by the Druken Boar. Yea there's no N, bit of a shady place but some easy marks there, ask the bartender about the guy with the hat, he'll set you straight," And with that the swordmaster was off again, heading for home.

He hadn't gotten very far when somebody yelling caused him to turn his head, it looked like somebody was yelling at a very confused looking little boy. Joshua recognized the little boy nearly immediately, it helped that Ewan hadn't grown much taller. First Innes and now Ewan? So many people from Magvel where showing up all of a sudden, maybe something was up?

Ewan had been a smart kid, good with magic too if a little... easily distracted. Out of all the younger members of the army he'd been the fastest to learn the coin tricks Joshua had shown them... of course Ross had just pocketed the coin Joshua gave him and Amelia kinda stared in wide eyed wonder anytime he did a trick so there wasn't really much competition. Perhaps the young sage would know something.

"Is there a problem?" Joshua said striding up to the two confidently with his normal swagger.

Lloyd nodded to Alex in answer to his statement. He was glad he would be able to at least be near Trinity if need be. Though he was reluctant to be apart from her, especially in this new place, he knew that in ELibe, Trinity would have to prove her own skill by herself. The Black Fang did not take in those who relied on others to suceed. Lloyd thought of Jaffar, the aloof assassin that replaced Jerme in the Four Fangs. He was quiet, mysterious, and barely said words to anyone except for the occasional gruff greeting. He was an expert in his field. Lloyd envied him somewhat. Shaking himself from his daydream, Lloyd asked, "So where do we stay now? Trinity and I have not been here long. Are there barracks for us?" He waited until the guards finished their greeting, it was odd to him that they did not know each other.

Trinity went over to Helios and pulled him closer to the stand. She was not usually the social type and she wanted to make friends with Nuo. She said to Nuo, "This is Helios. Would you like to pet him? He is a little odd for a pegasus but he is friendly." She hoped she didnt sound too odd to the knight.

It looked like Tiki was doing well. She was a lot more cheery than their last encounter. He grinned.

"I'm just looking around and seeing what stalls are up. And yeah, let's walk and talk." he said with a nod. He held his hand out to her. "Here. Stay close to me so that we don't get separated by the crowd."

Tiki nodded and took Roy's hand. The crowd was relatively dense around here. Maybe someone was giving out food. Tiki wasn't hungry, though.

"Alright then Roy, Let's go and see what we can see." She walked forward with Roy's hand in tow. She had to get a head start with her tiny steps. She didn't want to trip over any feet.

"Have you been spending time around any booths, Roy? And how have things been since all of the fighting stopped? You didn't get hurt, did you?"

Valerick had returned to where he was facing Lloyd and laughed a bit. "Well. Much like you would expect for any military style group. We do indeed have a barracks, though as expected of any military style barracks, it is not very . . . how shall we say. Comfortable. If anything, you'd almost be better off finding an INN to stay at. Though the stables at the barracks will be perfect for Helios when she is not being used. Then again, maybe not." Valerick laughed a little bit. He had never really liked the barracks which is why he was very glad that his home was still somewhere close to the town and still thankfully in one piece.

Nuo looked at Trinity and then over at Helios. At first, she was a bit scared of the pegasus. She was used to horses and she tried to think of it just as a horse with wings but no matter how much she tried, she just couldn't handle the thought of it. "Umm. I guess. Uhh." Nuo raised her hand up towards the pegasus to pet it. Her hand was a bit shaking, making her fear all the more obvious. Though it was barely shaking, it was still shaking somewhat. 'Okay. This shouldn't be all that hard to pull off. I just need to put my hand . . . on its head. That's all. I can do this.'

"Eph-Ephraim! Wait!"

Too late. The prince was gone in a second, after spotting an old aquaintance or something. Well, no matter. He had shown interest, so maybe he'd come around again.

The question were still the last three people with him...

...make that two. Ditched by yet another one. Oh well. Still two to go.

"Right! How about we all have some dinner! Tab's on me! We can talk more about it over food, or just talk about anything else. It all depends on what we can think about!"

He put his arms around the duo, smiling brightly at them. "I have a feeling this will be the start of some good times!"

Taking note of Blossom and Derrin coming up, Lance smiled and waved back. "Even better! Come, you two, join us for dinner!"
