If it could be seen that Fedora's skin turned pale, she was certainly whiter than a sheet.
It wasn't Thyme that was in danger.
It was her.
One by one she watched them fall, and counted... five? Five dead. She thought there was five.
She couldn't help but note that all of those that had died had... all red pendants. Idly, she reached up to clasp hers, holding it tightly with a shaking hand.
"Thyme..." She murmured softly, her voice wavering for the first time. "I really don't want to die. I don't want to kill, either, but to be honest? I'd rather them die than me." Fedora glanced to him, her gaze remaining on his. "Is that unsettling?" She turned to stare at the others again.
"I..." The thought was unfinished. She didn't know what to say.
She just hoped she wasn't next.

[Beta 4 is taking Beta 11's pendant]
Before wasn't close with Beta 11, but they fought together briefly, travelled together too. And while he didn't lament Beta X's death (though he felt bad he hadn't done anything) that had been different. She was felled by the other teams. Killed because, well, he wasn't sure why, maybe it had something to do with her making her blue-panda try and kill herself? But Bill, poor, poor Bill, "I-I'm s-sorry," he blubbered, his shaking hands reverently removing the red pendant from the former-medic's neck. Balefully, he looked up towards Bix, loudly sniffling, "I'm a b-bad person, aren't I?"
Maybe he was always a bad person and just couldn't remember it. Maybe he was a good person, but after what he'd done, he certainly can't call himself one now. He got to unsteady feet, and sharply thrust B11's pendant into Bix's hands. Before didn't want it. He didn't deserve it. Beta 9 would be better off in Bix's command.

There had to be some way out of this, some loophole to exploit (but then again, how well did that last attempt at exploiting a loophole go?). However, for one reason or another (like, say, the mounting body count), escape plans just weren't coming very readily to Theta Nine's mind, even though he and his partner were, for now, in the proverbial eye of the storm. It was only a matter of time, though, before the attackers turned to them. He glanced over at Zeta Two and Gamma Five, unable to suppress a wince under the cover of his gas mask.
Speaking up was a colossally bad idea at this point of the "game" (game? ha, killing spree, more like), Thyme knew, but he shouted at Zeta Two anyway. "Well, don't just go catatonic on your partner now! Defend her or something." Shouting aside, he couldn't quite bring himself to attack those he had met on the beach. He had healed some of them, even. Fool, raged a dark little voice inside his head before he quashed it. This hesitation was going to be the death of him, he knew it.
He needed more time, more time to think his way out of this. But he realized that he wasn't likely to get any, especially since the shouting probably drew some attention. "Sorry," he murmured to Fedora. "And no. It would be unsettling if we were anywhere else."
But then again, what was life without some danger? If there was a fight ahead -- and there was always a fight ahead, on this island -- he would meet it head-on.

Fedora nodded, shaking herself almost like a dog would shake out water, stretching with her arms over her head. "Okay. I apologize, I seem to have been in a bit of a funk there." Her gaze slowly went over the others. "The question now, is... do we want to lie low and hope they don't notice us until a little later, where we can try to ally ourselves on a fifty-fifty chance, or do we want to join in the fray now?"

Theta Nine gave a languid stretch of his arms. "Why not join the fray? If we wait any longer, I think it would only become more disadvantageous." Once upon a time, he would have stalled, gambled for more time, tried to find out more. He still wanted to know more -- he always would, he suspected -- but he was a little weary, not to mention wary, of waiting now. He really didn't want to wait for all the allied teams to jump on him and Fedora.
He canted his head very slightly toward Theta Four, appraising.

Fedora watched him incline his head, and turned to look at where he was, also appraising. "Well then." She stepped back beside him, reaching up to pat his shoulder gently. "Better late than never." Nodding her head once, she leaned close. "They look a bit... winded. Weak, maybe?" Fedora glanced to Delta Four.
"I believe I can attack too - I've seen those with command pendants using... free action? They don't have to obey. But they still attack. I believe I can, too." Lowering her hands, she spread them out, palms up, in a friendly gesture, plainly glancing to Theta Four, now.
"After you, my good friend. Attack."

{ Theta Nine is melee-attacking Theta Four! No squad loyalty, that lousy Thyme guy. }
Theta Nine looked over the assorted groups, thinking hard. He didn't feel like attacking the Gammas and Eta 11. Sentimentality could be a curse.
"I am about to do something colossally stupid," Thyme announced to Fedora. "Not to mention, somewhat less that loyal to my squad." But really, what had his squad done for him lately? "No need to come with." He briefly regretted that he didn't have the command pendant and couldn't stop her from following into what was clearly a deathwish of a gamble, but he had enough of hesitation now.
He charged straight toward Theta Four, fists swinging.
(( Not rolling for obedience, because he's obeying regardless. ))

"I'm coming with, whether you say so or not." Fedora stated, and that was that. Her mind was made up. "I don't blame you; if we continue with this, there's a good chance I may have to attack one of my own squad. But like I said, we scattered." She shrugged.
Right after Thyme leapt into the fray, she followed him nearly at his heels, fists at the ready. Her fists came down and landed a harsh blow; she wasn't going to let Thyme go alone. They were a team.

"As you wish," Theta Nine replied, just a little reluctant. As he charged into the fray, he recognized that he had always liked fights against the odds. But usually, they had been him against the others. He wasn't sure how he felt about having someone he regarded as a friend in danger with him.
Well, that just meant they'd have to win together. Or die together, which was looking way more likely at the moment. He pushed the crowding thoughts out of his mind, focusing on the moment.

[Beta 4 is a bad person ;n; trying to save Bix is attacking a door Delta 4]
You know who else is a team? Before, Bee, and Bix. Only recently did they add Thor to their roster but with him in control of Bix, Before did not want to see any more Betas die. Of course, there were better ways that didn't involve violence. Clearly. Before is sure there are but non-violent way are for good people and he obviously was not one of them ;n; of course, despite suddenly charging, all his yelling and incoherent sobbing proved unhelpful.
Rather than the intended bear-hug, he, uh, ended up accidentally grabbing Door's chest. *A*???? "S-Soft..."

"I don't know Before...maybe they won't disappear until this ..test or game or whatever it is ends" Bee told her teammate encouragingly - anything to keep Befores morale up and when their old healer went down crawling on the ground she was sad about what happened to her but...Bix was right, she was weak and weak people jut get killed around here - better her death went for something good right? And then two people were attacking Thor and Before was already leaping to his defense. Bee couldn't let Thor fall so she Snarled and pointed to Delta 4 'Kill them..and then kill their partner!" She demanded of EvII before sprining into Action herself. Though in the confusion of the fray her first strike missed. [B3 hp - 14 Attacking D4 Damage - 0]

(( hope you two don't mind me doing this, if you do let me know )) Stupid, he had let down his guard, the attack catching him completely off guard and unprotected. He was reeling, stars flashing, he could feel something breaking. s**t, so he was next was he, he couldn't say that he was surprised. But he wasn't standing still, and damned if he was going to let Bix fall into the hands of another. A quick pendant count and he had seized both Bix and Before by the arm and was dragging them toward the door, away from his attackers. Hurry up, before they catch up! He didn't know if it would work, if the red pendants would affect the barrier, but at the very least he could stop anyone else from controlling Bix, maybe then he'd have a chance. His resolve set (was he really this kind of person?), he took the pendant that controlled Beta Six (Bix) and the pendant that controlled Delta One from around his own neck and placed them in Bix's hand, leaving the pendant controlling E-12 around his own neck.A last glance between Bix and Before (they now had five pendants between them, 3 red and 2 blue), he shoved them both toward the door. If it worked hopefully the force of his push would send them both through the door if not he only hoped it wouldn't hurt them. "Go, both of you! And don't look back!" Swinging around his attention turned back to his attackers, charging with what little strength he had left. " E-12, protect B-3!" If the door wouldn't open, the it would be up to Bee to protect Bix and Before. (( Thor gave pendants controlling B-6 and D-1 to B-6, they are now in his possession Thor HP: 6 Attack: Meele Damage: 0 ))

((Delta One is attacking Theta Four. Rolling first, and under no command right now? If I'm wrong I'll change my post))The break, small as it was, definitely gave Delta One time to think, time to put things into perspective. First, her own commander had tried to kill her. She was dead. Then, Eta Sevens commander, who had allowed Eta Seven to come to Delta Ones aide, was dead. Then, Delta One was forced into the control of a bunch of assholes who had attacked them. Well, she wasn't just going to sit here and be the good little meat shield like they seemed to expect. Once Gamma Eleven had died, Delta One no longer felt compulsion to follow any commands, because none had been given to her. She waited, and waited. Nothing. Then she watched, while others began attacking Theta Four, her newest commander, and a cruel smile spread across her face. Good she thought, though in her mind she knew that the only reason they were being attacked was because his team had so many pendants already. Then, he was suddenly headed for the door, helping the others escape. Taking off the pendant that currently held her control! She was already moving, running, then launching herself at Theta Four, her fist slamming into the side of his head. She wanted him to die. ((Attacking: Theta Four Weapon: Melee Damage dealt: 3 Delta Ones hp: 25))

It seemed like a whole bunch of things happened to Bix all at once. First was the death of their Beta teammate and Before's lamenting. He patted the other on the back. "You aren't bad. Don't worry."
None of them were bad, right? They were just people in a bad situation doing what they had to in order to survive. Then Before handed him the pendant. "But I.." He shook again with pent up emotion but knew better than to try and bargain with Before.
And suddenly he was controlling someone else and then in the blink of an eye Thor handed him the pendant controlling himself and someone else. He could only gape, open mouthed, like a fish underneath his mask while his former Commander shoved he and Before towards the doorway.
"Five pendants for two people." He muttered it. It should work. But he had to help! He couldn't leave them... could he?
"Beta-Nine and Delta-One!! Protect Thor.. uhh.. Theta-Four!" He had that control now. He could do something even as he hurtled towards the exit.

((Since Delta 1 took off her pendant shouldn't that mean her HP's at 15, not 25?))
s**t just hit critical mass apparently. Everyone was attacking Thor. EVERY. ONE. (Well except Bee and Bix and himself but how could Before be so sure his inner-bad-person wouldn't have him accidentally stomp his boot in Thor's FAAAAACE? :< ) He was pulled away from the sensation of something soft in his hands and was now being forced towards the Gym Doors. s**t, wait, what? WHAT THE ******** IS HAPPENING?
Bix was pulling him towards the doors and he was no longer within earshot of Bee's commands. "G-go? How? Need more blue pandas!" he whispered to Bix, daring to risk a glance over his shoulder even as they reached the doors. Were the five pendants they had enough to break the barrier of FEAR?
