Rain shuddered visibly at the mention of ninjas. She would never forget how she got whisked away in the middle of a fight, sent far from all of her friends. She had eventually met up with them again but she hadn't been able to protect them, or help them. "Ninjas are very bad indeed," she muttered, barely above a whisper as she took out the inkinator and tried again. She hadn't been paying attention. How many vials did they still need?

Cloak had let the siren go back to work without answering him again - she was more interested in getting the ink than she was having a heart-to-heart with the students. She just nodded at him and moved on to survey the rest of the kids, trying to keep count of the vials they had filled so far.
"That's four, kids, six more to go!"
((I intend to leave this open until all 10 are filled, but if it starts to become ridiculously long (over the day marker) then I will end it, unless you guys have any objections.

Six more to go, Cloak had said. This was one stubborn squid. Perhaps if someone jumped on it, it would expel ink better? She was tempted to try it herself but knowing how clumsy she could be, she'd probably slide into the ocean instead.
She would have to content herself with stabbing the darn thing over and over again. At least she never got tired and it was better than sitting in her room doing nothing. She decided to move around to the other side of the squid and try stabbing it with the tool in an entirely new area.

"Yea," Aksaja agreed. "I never really had to fight him but the way he punched that huge dragon into the sky . . . " He trailed off with a shudder. Bad enough that there was said huge dragon in the FIRST place, but an enemy that could defeat it so easily.
DAMN. No thank you. Time to try for another vial. Hmm, maybe this tentacle.

Viveca saw that a few students had had a little success, so she decided to move closer to them and mimic what they were doing.
She picked up a tentacle arm and poked the end of the vial gun into the underside.
Nothing.

Aksaja grumbled under his breath and moved back toward the front of the boat. He kicked at a few tentacles as he went, still tired, frustrated, and annoyed with the stupid dead squid for not giving him more ink.
This was dumb, what did Cloak need ink for anyway? Couldn't she just wait til they got back to school? Finally, he knelt down near a really big tentacle, hoping it would yield better results. But noooo of course not. Stupid squid.

Israfel had to stop and just look at Aksaja. Like, look at him. And then Rain as well. Jaw open, just..."You can't be serious." Huffing the siren put aside the ink gathering for a moment. "You guys never lived by the ocean? What kind of a place are you all from? No sharks, no ocean, not even a winged sea slug?" He shook his head. "I've always lived by the sea. The very idea of never being near it is..." Shivers causes the feathers on his body to fan out. "Jack I don't think I could live in such a place." As feathers resting and the shock of having discovered they never lived by the ocean, (the poor pumpkins), Israfel scooted down the arm looking for a place to poke. "But um, yeah, Sharks are rather nice. Just don't bleed around them. So are seals. If sharks are gentlemen, seals are frat boys. Party all the time. No togas, but they eat, play games, and sleep all day. Also very loud."
Pausing, Israfel riddled his mind for legends his family had told him about. "Well, we might encounter a whirlpool. Or a giant seagull." Blue eyes shot up looking at the birds, a caw sending a few scuttling back. "I hate seagulls. At least monster dragons don't steal your food. Seagulls are just- UGH." This time he shoved the needle in.
"I hate them."

Aksaja glanced back toward Israfel and shook his head in answer to that question. "Never. I come from a big sort of valley in the middle of a range of mountains. There's an ocean on the other side of the mountains but there's no real reason for us to fly that way. No food." He shrugged - completely unaware, apparently, of the utter bounty of food that could come from the ocean.
Eyeing another tentacle, he jabbed his needlegun into it.

More scoffing. More huffing. Israfel couldn't believe what he was hearing. "No food? The ocean is like, one giant soup bowl just raw. And salty. Very salty. But jack- Remind me that at some point to get you a lobster tail...or some crab. I mean heck, we could eat this squid! A few squid steaks over an open fire, with a side of fish eggs? Some sea bread...the ocean is a salty raw soup pot."
Needle jabbed into in arm.
"Maybe Ms. Winters will have us learn to make sushi!"

Such a look of disgust came over the lightning dragon's features at that suggestion that he looked as if he'd just swallowed some kind of rotten fruit. "Eat THIS? Are you kidding? This thing tastes like a**." He made a gagging sort of noise. "Trust me. I bit it."
Aksaja had no idea what 'sushi' was, but. If Israfel thought this squid would taste good, he didn't want to think about the Siren's OTHER suggestions of food. Yech.
Picking another spot on that tentacle, he jabbed the needle in again.

"I grew up in a graveyard," Rain explained. "My parents own and run a cemetery and I help them out, or did before I came to the school. I really haven't been out much. What I do know, I read in books or saw on the skelevision." She nearly tripped over a giant tentacle when Israfel mentioned a giant seagull. Surely he had been kidding, right? Then again, wasn't there was a giant creature right before them?
"I don't know why we always go on such dangerous school trips." Her parents hadn't mentioned how dangerous it would be to go to school. How many of her friends had ended up in the infirmary before? And how many yet would end up there before graduation. At least every day was an adventure. Pulling out the tool she walked to another tentacle and stabbed it. Could ink coagulate like blood? She hoped not as this task was proving difficult enough.

"Danger is youth. If you don't go through a little bit of danger, its wasted." Vaith interrupted, the reaper looking more than a little burnt out. Who didn't? It seemed like a week of events had passed over a course of mere days on the "Overboard."
Keyword? Little bit of danger. Not a massive, tremendous, spontaneous amount like this.
The ocean was a lovely place. Provided you weren't in the middle of it. If you were.. Well, it wasn't so entertaining from the other side of the glass.

"I've exceeded a little danger some time ago," Rain replied mildly. She didn't want to argue with the reaper but a little trouble was nothing. A fight with a giant poo monster, then a big band battle that had turned into a real fight at the end even if it did score her a nifty pendant, getting hurt during the Christmas Town fiasco though granted, some of that was her doing, then the fight with the ninja and then the mecha, it seemed as if danger was her middle name. It wasn't. She had been lucky enough to miss the fight with the giant squid but she would be as lucky to miss every other dangerous element on this trip?
Sighing to no one in particular, she pulled out the tool and moved it slightly before stabbing it back in. Maybe there was no more ink in this darn thing.

Israfel gasped. He gasped and picked up a smaller tentacle part looking at it like it was really something worth value. Then he bit into it.
And promptly shrugged. "I've had worse." Throwing it into the air, a seagull promptly dive bombed and snatched it before it could even fall. "The school sends us on death traps. If we don't all die on this boat, then it'll be pirates, tiki wiki islanders, or each other." He poked the squid arm. "Our student body doesn't seem to be prone to much luck. At least not with school funded events and trips."
With an odd whir, the cartrage filled with ink and Israfel went and handed it off to Cloak. As he did, his curiousity got the better of him. "You're not planning to give yourself tattoos I hope. I don't think squid ink would be very good for them."
