"Sure." Eda rolled her eyes, teasing him. "You wouldn't expect me to expect you to learn without actually trying it, right?" Eda deposited the rocks in his hand, but not like most peopel would do. She was careful not to touch him. She had this thing about touching people. Instead, her hand hovered straight over his, then dropped the rocks into his hand. Then she quickly pulled her arm back.
"But you have to set the fire up correctly if you want it to burn with as little hassle as possible." Eda leaned back on the floor, her elbows keeping her propped up. "But you're going to have to figure out that much for yourself. Just use your head. What's easiest to catch on fire?"
Eda had taught a few people how to start fires, among other things. Though lots of fighters hated being taught by someone so young, and a woman, no less, the people Eda had taught always seemed to be better off. even though they always seemed to hate her as she instructed them. She made them figure out lots on their own. And while it amused her to watch them try to figure things out and fail time and time again, it was also the best way to remember it. Besides, she had had to learn this all on her own, as well. Lots of peopel did. Just because you were getting trained by somone who knew didn't mean you got to be pampered, right? Eda closed her eyes, stifling a yawn. Even though she wasn't all that tired.

Dropping back into awareness, Kyo noticed that the odd two had gone off. He frowned, wondering how long he had been thinking, then shrugged and stood, brushing off his pants and patting his swords before wandering in a random direction, whistling lightly. He wandered for several days, napping in trees, and dodging soldiers, eventually finding a town and a small cafe. Darting to a table, he ordered something warm to drink and asked for anything that resembled meat. The waitress brought over a huge chicken breast and a coffee, winking flirtatiously at him before sauntering off. He never noticed, instead choosing to dig into his meal with polite gusto, humming happily and tapping his foot.

Hiru thought nothing of her hand never touching his. In fact, he preferred it that way. That was just one more thing, for whatever their reasons were, that they had in common. Hiru took the stones and held them next to each other, eager to get started. That was, until Eda interrupted him. He paused and looked back to her as she suddenly turned nonchalant and tried to appear uninterested. He found her demeanor familiar, but not offensive. Truthfully, he also preferred to figure things out for himself. Even if she had tried to butt-in and correct him, he would have protested. This was going to go more smoothly than anything the two of them had been through thus far.

Hiru looked at the mess of a pile in front of him. He lowered his hands, but he didn’t drop the stones. As he stared at the wood, he tried to figure out what she meant by what burned easily. She probably meant something that would catch fire quickly, like clothing or dried leaves. But, he wasn’t willing to tear any of his clothing up, and there weren’t many leaves on the ground this time of year. Then again, the Death Keeper could re-construct his clothing. That wasn’t the point, though. He was a bit of a materialist, and hated having to destroy things. That was.... unless it was his self.

The demon began thinking with Hiru as he sat there in front of the pit. -Hiru, it is often that I find these new bodies to be highly flammable. After a human body starts to decompose, if it is dried, it becomes severely flammable.- Hiru could not believe what it was telling him. -Wait, you think I should throw myself into the fire pit!? -No, something small, like a finger would do. -But wait, I don’t.... -HIRU.... you know I will replace whatever is taken away. With the added spirit of that bat, we will still have energy to spare. It will be as if it never happened.- The entire mental conversation lasted about one-and-a-half seconds.

The demon was trying to reassure Hiru that nothing bad would come of this. But, why did it care what he thought? It could just as easily rip off a finger and throw it in the fire, and then grow one right back. But instead, it had decided to inform him of its intentions before hand. Perhaps it really wasn’t all that bad. Then again, what happened next, even Hiru wasn’t ready for. His eyes turned bright red as the Death Keeper dropped the stones from his hands in front of him. It lifted his left index and middle fingers up to eye-level, staring at them so that Hiru was watching. Without hesitating, the demon took Hiru’s right hand and grabbed the two fingers and pulled sideways, ripping them clean out. With that, it neatly placed the two fingers in the center of the pit.

Hiru tensed for a scream, but he couldn’t help but notice that he didn’t feel anything. Or at least, he didn’t feel pain as he knew it when he was alive. At last, the large opening in Hiru’s left hand writhed with movement. Two of the demon’s tentacles, very small ones, reached out from his knuckles and began splitting and weaving themselves into two brand-new fingers. Hiru finally relaxed as he realized everything the demon had told him was true. In fact, he almost felt lighter with the replacement of just that much of his flesh. It seemed that every time something got replaced, he felt lighter, yet stronger and more energetic. Whatever it was, he was growing accustomed to it. But.... was Eda? He looked over to her, his eyes still red with the power of the demon, though his expression was nervous and highly uncertain. "Umm.... that.... will work?"

Eda forced her eyes open after a moment, forcing her torso to sit back up. the last thing she needed was o fall asleep. Not only would she seem like a jerk, Hiru could ptentially burn down the entire cabin. And that would mean taking Eda with it.
She opened her eyes just in time to see Hiru rip two of his fingers off. She blinked a few times, wondering if she had seriously just seen that. She had. Soon enough, though, those odd tenticals had popped out, weaving themselves into perfectly new and, as far as she coukld see, usable fingers. Eda's head tipped to the side a bit as she noticed his eyes were back red. Had they been red a moment ago? She really needed to pay more attention to these little details. "Well. I, personally, would have used clothing or small sticks or something. But whatever floats your boat, I suppose." She had used hair in a rare occasion, but that was as close to a part of her body as she had ever gotten. Then again, she couldn't really grow new parts.
Eda shifted, stifling another small yawn as she pulled her legs under her. Time for the next point. "If you catch something small on fire, it's not going to make enough fire to se that huge log next to it on fire, is it?" She asked him, her brows raising. "Plus. What else do fires need to burn? You should probably make sure there's enough of that at the bottom, as well." Eda pulled herself next to teh wall. Air was what she waas looking for, but she was sure he would find some crazy answer that wasn't what she was looking for for that one, as well.
Eda rubbed her face, brainstorming ways to keep herself up. Maybe she could find a large rock and sharpen her blade. But then again, she would also need water. And water was something she was running low on at the moment. And she hadn't had a chance to scope and see if there was a river.

Hiru looked down at the fingers in the fire. He wasn’t sure what she was talking about, but that didn’t matter. The Death Keeper reached his hands out and set the logs up in a tent-shape, with the fingers pressed against one of the logs at its base. It took another log and reached inside the tent, smashing the fingers. They exploded in a shower of tiny coals that engulfed the logs, igniting them all at once. It was a slow burn, as the wood was fresh, but at least it was burning.

Hiru regained sway once more, unsure himself of what had just happened. He moved back against the wall behind him, pulling his knees up under his chin again. Only this time, he wasn’t hugging them. He was just staring at the fire, his eyes flickering in the light. They weren’t red anymore. Instead, they were reflecting the light of the fire in front of him.

As he sat there, he decided what would be best for him at this point was to shut out the world. Eda had her fire, the Death Keeper seemed to be still - for now, at least – and Hiru, well.... he started humming. His song was something that, like Eda’s, was a comfort, even if it was different. He started humming the song that his mother had taught him in his dreams, the one no other person knew or would recognize. Perhaps there were similar tunes, but none like the one Hiru’s mother had taught him.

Eda waited, only half awake, as Hiru built the fire up perfectly. “Nice.” She murmured. She had closed her eyes again before he had finished, laying down on her side and curling up a bit, but she could feel the warmth of the growing fire on her body. She reached up absentmindedly, her body curling the rest of the way into a little ball, taking off her hat and using that as a small pillow. It wasn’t much, but she was used to not having much by now. Eda’s mind was fighting to stay awake as her body slowly shut itself down. They had fire, and the floor wasn’t as ideal as plush grass, but it was doable. She had slept on worse, that was sure. For the most part, she was content.

Eda’s slipping mind caught the soft sound of someone humming. But it sounded far away, as if the hummer was across the clearing instead of close. Her lips curved upwards ever so slightly. She had never heard the tune before. But that didn’t depreciate her love for music. It was soft and gentle, and it made Eda want to wrap up in the tune, like it was some sort of blanket. But, in the end, the tune just pushed her farther into sleep, until even someone screaming probably wouldn’t have awakened her at that moment.

Rosettalyn bolted through the woods to her campsite, when she arrived there she walked into her cave with fresh fish for dinner. She walked towards her fire that was blaring wonderful heat as she placed her fish onto the hot rocks to cook. She sat down onto her bed and picked took off her swords placing them beside her she laid down waiting for her fish to be done. It had been one hell of a day. Later she would have to find a town or something close by to see if she could buy some stuff. Mainly she would need ropes. A lot of them too. Rosettalyn stayed where she was and closed her eyes once before opening them and looking at her fish. Noticing that they were almost done she sat up and faced the fire. The heat was nice.

Humming slightly, Kyoshiro finished off his meal, sipping contently at a cup of tea and bouncing his foot slightly, seeming to stare off into space, the bandages over his eyes obscuring whatever he might have been looking at.
