Can a guardian cat belong to/be attached/aligned with the Knights (or one in particular?)

Akina: Guardian cats bond with senshi, typically, but they are free beings who may hang out with whoever they'd like, even a civilian! So even though Knight lore is pretty independent of guardian cats historically, you could always write a cat choosing to hang around a Knight if they wanted. However, their duty would always be to the senshi since they alone can awaken them and since the Mau are the gateway for the senshiphone technology and all that jazz. So a guardian cat can hang around a Knight for sure, even consider the Knight their 'owner' if they are of that mind, but they wouldn't serve a Knight, per se, in the way that the cats serve senshi.

For knights, how do they upgrade from stage to stage? Like how do they from Page to Squire and from Squire to the final Knight stage?

Akina: The Knight Info Thread describes it like this:

Quote:
You also upgrade spontaneously! When greater power is required and you have awoken the magic inside of you, calling on your planet in silent plea, you will become first a squire and then a knight. You don’t need guardian cats and general kings -- you are autonomous.

So it can happen in any way. You feel a greater calling, and then -- bam! -- you upgrade. New weapon, new outfit. Just like magic.

DOUBLE POST LIKE A BOSS! /shot

Okay so I was thinking about doing a solo, talking to Nessy, and thinking about the fact that Polaris has books on her planet and Obviously Saturn has Literature since they had all these dismal plays on the planet when a question came to me. My question is, if those books were in another language, a planetary-home world language, could they be read by a character and be understood? Or would they have to figure out how to translate it?

Mouse: You're not going to be able to effortlesslyread and understand the script and language of your home planet, no. Translating would also be next to impossible, since there's no literature or guides out there that could compare it to modern English.

However, if your character comes across something in writing that was somehow significant to them in the past, it could jog some memories about the message it conveyed or what the purpose of the document was: you can see hints of this beginning to happen in this solo starring Merope! I like this as an example, since it's a good approach to how this can be handled in a way that's still fun: Merope can't actually read the letters, but he knows they're important to him for some reason.

So in short, you might be able to recall some summarized ideas about the books on your star due to their role in your past life, but being able to read and decipher the language itself is a different story. If you're particularly interested in your character learning a past language or script for the sake of their own development, however, please contact the mule with your ideas. c:

If we got a RL comm from natsu does that count towards the no gold customs for 3 months? Or is it separate? Also if it does, would it count for new characters only, or all customs including alt-civ outfits?

Nessy: RL commissions run parallel to gold ones so no, they do not count towards customs made here on Gaia.

Just making sure I understand this correctly.

I won Bimini (powered character) from Yuna's customs. Because I only got the first stage when it comes time for him to grow I have wait and look out for colorists customs slots to open for him to grow.

I DO NOT put him in the template growth request thread and just pay whoever does him. I have to actually snag another custom slot. Yes?

I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding. Thanks!

Nessy: There was a policy change when we started putting the system into action and realized it would be a bit of a trainwreck. There are two ways to grow and both involve posting in the template growth thread when it is time.

You may either:

- Keep Yuna as your colorist and she will pick up your growth asap as her work time allows and you pay her when she delivers the growth.

- Say that you want a different colorist and then you take your chances with the colorist assigned to you at random. You pay them the same you would pay if you stuck with Yuna as your artist. So if you're not going to be 100% comfortable with who you might get from this, it is suggested that you do not do it.

It was announced awhile back and the changes are in the customs forum. You can view them here.

Apparently I have selective reading. XD Thanks a bunch for the quick answer!

Regarding the announcement for switching from unique art to templates, the announcement said for people already on the growth list, "When you PM the mule, please list all of the templatists, in order of most preferred to least preferred, who you would be willing to have complete your growth". Does this also apply to those growing in the future? In other words, when I am ready for Asclepius to grow, if I decide to switch to templates, should I post/PM a preference list with the growth request in the Template Art thread? Or does that only apply to those already on Natsube's growth list?

Nessy: If you have not yet posted for growth and have either a) paid for your character in full from Natsu's commissions earlier or b) actually received your senshi through gold or other means on Gaia (raffle, freebie, etc) you may simply post to the template thread with your preferences when it is time to grow.

Question on sensing energy patterns:

Regular, Super and Eternal senshi all give off a different level of energy, just as Lt., Captain and General (along with all of the other factions, so on and so forth). Is it possible that, amongst the senshi, different types of spheres give off different types of energy reads, instead of just different power levels? Or is it just once their powers are active and you're close to them that you get a feel for who/what they might be?

Nessy: Because it has huge potential for abuse I'm going to say that no, you can't tell who someone is by their power signature. However if you get the agreement of that person and do development like say, Corvus spends all of her time around Eridanus. So she can feel the difference in power signatures if she really concentrates on them, I would say that is alright.

A lot of leeway can be made for strong bonds. For example, in canon, Mamoru could always tell when Usagi was in danger. I'm not saying that is something anyone in this shop could ever possibly do but it's a good basis for telling energy signatures apart with concentration and familiarity.

Though now I am reminded that Chronos can feel her Zodiacs at any point in time. So yeah this is definitely possible with development and familiarity, but only on your side of the fence.

^ Going off of the above, I've kind of always thought everyone's energy felt somewhat different. Not as far as level of powers go (as all Captains should feel similar, all Eternals, etc)

But like as an example, in my imagination I'd have Schee's energy reading pegged as clearly rolling in the negative energy since he's a General now, but with a tint of hyperactivity to it. Like...it'd feel like really wound up dark energy, and those who encountered him enough might eventually learn to feel that out and know it's him (and I wouldn't mind this, really XD).

Is something like that okay?

Akina: No one has a special energy signature, unfortunately. You feel just like everyone else in your faction feels. It is too messy to say that individuals have special signatures.

Ness sort of touched on a bit of canon about it, but the assumption should be that no one has special energy. If someone recognizes an energy signature belonging to one person, it would have to be super rare and only for exceptionally close connections, as Ness touched on above. It wouldn't be that Schee feels hyperactive to EVERYONE -- but more that one special person might say, "I know it's you because it feels hyperactive to me." Does that make sense? His energy signature isn't actually different, but someone with a particular affinity with him might think it is just because they know him so well.

These are the different kinds of energy we have:

DARK SIDE

- Lieutenants
- Captains
- Generals
- GQ/GK

- Corrupt Senshi
- Corrupt Super
- Corrupt Eternal
- Corrupt Prince/ss

- Corrupt Cat Form
- Corrupt Halfbreed Form

LIGHT SIDE

- Senshi
- Super
- Eternal
- Prince/ss

- Page
- Squire
- Knight
- Templar

- Parallel Senshi
- Parallel Super
- Parallel Eternal
- Parallel Princess

- Parallel Cavalier

- Parallel Cat Form
- Parallel Halfbreed Form

- Cat Form
- Halfbreed Form

Each one of these will feel different, but the members within those groupings would feel the same.

Makes sense to me, thank you! <3

How far away is the beach/sound/Atlantic from Destiny City?

Mouse: It's about a 5-hour drive to reach the coast, give or take.

I have some questions regarding energy-stealing objects! Since generals can make them.

- Does an energy stealing object start stealing energy right away or can it be remotely triggered/stopped somehow?

Not even bothering with my name, y'all know who this is. It depends entirely on your plot and your level of control. A fresh captain put in charge probably would not have the level of finesse required to trigger an energy device. A general, however, can probably trigger them on and off with relative ease.

- How close to a real object does a fake, energy-stealing object function? Are they pretty much identical to the real object in terms of functionality and believability? Would an energy-stealing watch tell time and an energy-stealing jacket keep you warm?

Absolutely! There have been all sorts of energy-stealing things in the canon. Plants, radios, VHS tapes, computers. All functioning items that were just multipurposed.

- Can an energy-stealing electronic be made, such as a television, tv remote, computer, phone, or household appliance? If so, how well do they pass as the real thing? Can an unwitting person make a real call on an energy-stealing phone, for instance?

Canonically this is possible. Sailor Mercury was revealed by having her face wedged against a hypnotic, energy-stealing computer for a long period of time. So while a normal person would not notice at all what was happening, a senshi very well might. I would speak to everyone involved in your plot to get these things all on the same page before you attempt to do something like that.

- If the Negaverser who creates the object tries to use it, will they energy drain themselves on accident or are they immune?

I would assume if they were dumb enough to do something like that, it would sap their energy too.

- If the Negaverser who creates the object has to handle/distribute it while they are in civilian form, will they energy drain themselves on accident or are they immune?

Most energy-draining things that are small enough to be handed out are being used by generals who can trigger them. You certainly don't want people dropping like flies behind you, that calls out a lot of attention! So assume that simply handing them out would not drain energy until triggered.

- If the object is made and passed off to another Negaverser who tries to use it, will they energy drain themselves on accident or are they immune?

As long as they're not being dumb and going herp derp lets put the watch on and trigger it for fun they should be fine.

- How much energy on a general's part does it take to make an energy stealing object? How many objects can be made per day? What is the largest size of an object that can be made? How long does each one last, and how does a Negaverser destroy one early as opposed to hide it in their subspace pocket? Can they be destroyed remotely? Is there a maximum number of uses or energy they can channel?

You ask really hard questions. :C Depending on the size and capacity of the item it all varies. If you are planning on using an energy-stealing item please contact the mule so that we can discuss that sort of thing.

- Does the energy stolen by an object remain in the object (requiring retrieval), or does it get channeled directly to the Nega who made the object? Or if the job is being run by someone of a lower rank, does it go directly to them?

I am going to use the word canonically a million times in this post. In canon whenever one of the four stole energy it went either into a youma or straight into their possession. So you can assume that a) you have to be nearby to trigger the items and b) the energy will come straight to the person with the trigger.

- How does a senshi or knight destroy an energy-stealing object? Do they give off any sort of aura that gives them away?

The same way everything else is destroyed - usually with either an attack or stomping on it. Repeatedly. Non-Negaverse agents cannot sense an energy-stealing item unless it is currently draining energy. Otherwise it really is just an innocuous item that does nothing.

Since there's chibi Senshi, would there ever be chibi Negas?

Mouse: No. Chibi characters are goodguy senshi only. There will never be chibi versions of any other class.

A question about youma, because I am super curious!:

Is it at all possible for a youma to possess a level of human intelligence? Or are they strictly... beasts?

Nessy: It is absolutely 100% possible for youma to have human intelligence and in rare cases of Great Youma, more than human intelligence. They are rarer though and are usually not put out to roam about Destiny City at random because they are important because of their intelligence.
