I'd honestly tell my best friend first so he can go around screaming "I knew you liked boys!" and make my life easier.

I'm 20, and all my brothers and sisters know (5 altogether), but my parent's don't. I don't really plan on telling them until i'm out of the house. It'll just be a "I'm gay, kthanksbye" and out the door. I don't know how they feel about it so I won't take any chanced while i'm still living under their roof. There wouldn't be any need to tell them now anyways. I doubt it would make us any closer or farther from each other since we don't talk much as is.

I was an adopted child blessed with an amazing life and very supportive and accepting parents, family and friends in all reaches.
I came out to my entire family, extended and what not, about a year ago. I dated my first girlfriend at fifteen, though, and my friends and immediate family have always known, but I never - and still, really - detest labels of any kind being taken into account as a defining factor for who I am.
I'll be 20 on September 10th.

Even though it's MY 21st, I have a present for my family. I plan on, while we're at my fav coffee shop with my family today, just coming out straight forward and telling them that it's not a choice and that I'll calmly answer any question they have. I have handwritten information if they need it and even checked a book out from my library if they wish to read it.
I have everything prepared, but I'm expecting a lot of shouting from their end. I have to eventually, so I'm gonna come out now so I don't have to hide anymore.

I got into a fight with one of my friends who knew I was gay, and he ended up telling, my brother who told the rest of my family, the guy I had a crush one and the biggest loud mouth in my grad, but I actually thanked him, it made my life so much easier, not hiding all the time.

I pretty much straight up told mostly everyone I knew back when I was in grade 12. The other week actually, my parents just found out because some guy at the gas station apparently told them =/

I would LOVE to know how that conversation went o_o If you are talking about the conversation between my mom and the gas station worker... I would like to know myself. I assume it went along the lines of "hey, did you know that your son was gay?" If you are talking about the conversation between me and my parents... it pretty much went Mom: "*insert name here* told me that you were gay... are you?" Me (in the middle of having a really bad cold for 2 weeks, and was pulled aside out of the blue when I was intending on relaxing and playing video games) "Um... I don't know.." Mom "Well, if you are, we completely support you" Me "Okay... I am going to go play my video game now"

Yeah... the person was my older brother's old friend who he doesn't talk to any more, but my old friends are now his friend (kind of a weird situation). So one of my friends probably just straight up told this guy I was gay for god knows what reason, and this is the kind of guy that would just bring up something like this to someone's parents out of the blue with no consideration put into the fact that maybe he shouldn't be telling other people such stuff. So I assume it was a pretty matter of fact conversation along the lines of "I didn't know your son was gay." or "your son's friend told me that your son was gay. Did you know of this?"

Apparently, when I was 8 years old, I ran around saying I was bi. My mom asked me if I knew what that meant, I said no, she told me, and I was like, "Oh, then yeah, that's totally what I am." Even though I don't remember this, my parents have since assumed I was at least bi, and so I never really had to come out that I like girls. I came out as trans to my parents, though, two years ago. Right before my 18th birthday. I wrote a letter, threw it at my mom while she was watching TV, ran away crying, locked myself inside my room, and then hid under my blankets.

I told my brothers girlfried while we were at camp. Then i just started telling others that were close to me. I told one person to avoid a date to campfire and my mom went though my room that week and found out but decided to get p.o.'ed at me when we were at home. I ran away for about 5 hours and my whole family was looking for me. It was a small town of about 100 if not less but i knew were to hide. I wascrying the whole time but eventualy I was on my was home and we had a yelling thing. After that i got grounded and we nevere talked about it after that. Then another person found out when me and two others were in a hotel at a anime con and he told my friend at school for me.( ill kill him later ) but i dont plan on telling till im on my own. Everyone is cool with it and my brothers are awsome about it. And they figured i was gay at one point. I only ever dated one person and kinda feel bad about it because i knew i was into boys while i was with her but didnt have the hart to tell her.

I ended up breaking down one night to my mom after me and my ex girlfriend got into a big fight. I pretty much went up to her in tears, she pulled me aside (into the bathroom) and asked me what was wrong. I pretty much told her everything, even about the fight that caused it. Her response was: "Oh, I already knew."
I haven't officially told my dad yet, but I'm pretty sure he knows. Because, he pretty much told me he was bisexual. I suppose it was his way of saying, "I support you."
