"Well, at least it sounds like you're doing what you like, which not everyone can say. I hope I get a chance to hear you play sometime this trip." She munched on a little food, then a thought occurred to her. "I tend to spend a lot of time out in the wild, helping passing trainers and sick or injured wild pokemon, so I know a fair bit about living off the land. If you like I can give you a few tips, on medicinal and edible plants, and such."

Just as she considers riding her rented Onix, Corn is caught in a sudden downpour. She yells something incomprehensible (and, were it comprehensible, probably reprehensible as well) and runs to the shelter of the stables. When she got in, she shook herself a little drier like a dog and got a few other people by the door even more wet.
Looked like these close quarters were gonna force a little more mingling out of her. So be it!

"Stitch. Come." The Linoone skidded to a halt and trotted after his trainer. Aw... no food for him.
Penelope walked outside just in time to see all of Meeka's pokemon. She looked them over. "Nice. I've just got Stitch here, and a poochyena." She looked down at her watch. She had a new watch, it was pretty. There was still time to go to the store. "Hey, after you're done with them, you wanna go shopping?"

((sorry for the SUPER HUGE intro post. >__>;;; )) "Crud crud crud!" Jypsum exclaimed as she ran towards the outskirts of Katarina. "Why must my sister's be nitwits?! I asked them to wake me up AGES ago! Gawd, I hope I'm not late!" a distant rumble of thunder quickened her pace. "And why did it have to be a thunder storm?" she lamented. "Rai rai chu!" exclaimed the Raichu happily as he bounded beside her. He loved storms, unlike his trainer's young sister.
"Guh, finaly." she muttered as she entered the building where she was to her rental pokemon. She walked up to the kind looking Man behind the desk. "H-hi, I'm here for the Express? My sister said she signed me up and stuff yesterday, Jypsum Stone?" "Hello there young lady! I've got your form right... HERE! Looks like your sister signed you up for an Onix mount, so if you'll just sign on this line here..." he said, pushing her form towards her and handing her a pen. Jypsum's face went blank for a moment as her mind wailed frantically. O-onix?! Why did she sign me up for an ONIX?! Damn you Jem! You know I don't like big pokemon! She shook off her shock and took the proffered pen. "O-ok." she signed her name, all the while thinking up ways to get back at her sister for this. "There ya are! Your sister already paid for your first day, so just just go through there and pick yourself a mount. If the rain lightens up you can take it out for a test run, but I wouldn't do that right now." "Th-thank you sir. Come on Cas." she said and then made her way to the stables, borrowed Raichu in tow.
There were a lot of people, and many pokemon as well. She looked around, trying to find an Onix that wasn't already claimed and looked least likely to menace her. Not that one, it was glaring at her. Not that one, it looked like it wanted to eat her. Hmm. Maybe this one? She walked up to an Onix that was lazily looking around. "H-hey there. You don't want to eat me, right?" she asked, carefully holding out her hand to the large pokemon. "Oooon nix." it said, and rubbed it's head against Jypsum's hand. "Hehe, I'll take that as a no!" she giggled and continued petting the rock pokemon. "So what's your name? Hmm, on your stable it says... Odette? Well nice to meet you, I'm Jypsum and this is Casanova." she smiled and gestured to the Raichu at her feet. "Now let's go see what everyone else is doing!" she chirped as she let Odette out of her pen, much more confident now that she had her rental pokemon.

"Thank god, I'm pretty sure I could cut glass with how cold it is in here," He replied, returning the grin as they both exited, trotting down the stairs and back out into the drizzle. The air was warmer outside, although not by much, and Liam found himself shivering despite himself, reaching down to grab Nitro's pokeball, fingering it lightly.
"Hope they have showers at that ranch," he commented, rubbing his arms, "I could go for a nice hot shower... and a nice warm bed, too."
The mere thought of it made him shiver, and he groaned, bending over to peel off his black shirt, wringing it out -- as if that would help. Considering it was still drizzling, probably not, but he felt like he had just jumped into an icy swimming pool, water dripping from his hair and the bottom of his shirt. His pants were lost causes, especially with the giant puddles that had formed from the downpour.
"Do you live far away? We can take Nitro, if you'd like."

After securing a room at the inn, Flint decideds to make a stop at the towns store, there was plenty that he needed to stock up on if he was going to go on this trip. He walks out of the shelter of the Inns doorway, and runs to the store, having no desire to get completely soaked but he knew it would be inevitable. this is what he got for not carrying an umbrella.

So far Danny had only managed to meet one other person, he'd spent that last hour or so trying to calm down his ruffled Ponyta. They'd been under the shelter for a while now so he just didn't understand why she was still agitated. "Eager to be off?" he asked. Maybe she just didn't like to be in one place for long and enjoyed romping around. "We'll be off as soon as the rain lets up, don't worry." He went to give her another pat but this time she shied away from his touch. Danny sighed. "I don't know why you're unhappy, OK? But we're going to have to try to get along for the trip or things will be difficult for us." He wondered if anyone else had as troublesome a pokémon as he.

Jay continued to speak softly to Tsuno, but the only thing that got was more snorting. However he quit stomping his hooves, calming down a bit. Jay turned to the purple haired girl that approached him. He gave her a welcoming smile as she spoke. "I am." He said brightly. He was excited about this journey, hoping to catch his fist pokemon. He chuckled softly. "Yeah, there sure are." He said agreeing with her. There where a lot of people from all over with countless reasons for coming. Honesty it was quite fascinating to Jay. Amazingly, Tauros only snorted loudly several times as they conversed. Jay noted this and couldn't help but feel he was already making progress. "Oh, I'm Jay. It's nice to meet you..." He left off waiting for her to fill in the blank.

Ridley nodded his agreement in his desire for a hot shower and warm bed, appreciating the warmth relative to the chilly air conditioned air inside of Liam's apartment. He didn't miss a beat but watched as Liam peeled off his shirt, staring at him, almost faltering before he wrenched his gaze back to the street.
"Uh, yeah. We should take Nitro. I'm a couple blocks in that direction but it'll just be faster," Ridley grinned at him, blinking innocently. "I have a few umbrellas, too," he winked. "Not that that hat doesn't look good on you," he added, teasing him. He paused, turning to face him, waiting for him to release the Tauros.

Lamen listened, liking the fact that Ezekiel appeared a lot less socially awkward than his brother. What he said about Daniel came as no surprise- adopting a close friend as family seemed like something the man would do. As for Adriel's mother, that didn't come as a surprise, either. She was probably some foster mom Team Rocket used and then paid to keep quiet, or worse. She couldn't quite say that, though. "How do I know Adriel? My answer to that will solve both your mysteries. I'm his mom, of course. Just kidding." Lamen joked, earning herself a magically summoned paper fan whap on the head (courtesy of Donut.) She paused, having moved on to scratching Cooper's neck.
She'd met Adriel while he was pretty much killing someone. Kind of harsh to mention that. She could say something like he ran into a bit of trouble and I helped him, but that was almost equally shady. Oh, here's one. "We met on a similar expedition, once. He dropped by to visit my place a couple times after that." At least she wasn't lying, though really, they were less than acquaintances even by the end of that previous trip.
"Anyways, I wonder where that Tauros is. Why hasn't he returned? ...Oh." A little ways off, Soar rid a rampaging Mattress into a forest and disappeared from sight. "I think I need a new rental. NOT that the other one got lost. Or anything." She cringed.

Robin grinned. "That's very true. I never thought about it quite that way. And certainly, I'll try to provide some entertainment should the journey prove tedious."
At Anise's suggestion, he looked thoughtful. "Yes, that would be wonderful, actually. It would certainly prove useful. I'm eager to learn whatever you have to teach."
Feeling warmed through by the fire, Robin stripped off his scarf, coat, and hat, draping them neatly over the arm of the couch. The mauve sweater he wore was not quite as patched as his outerwear. A few strands of blue hair stuck stubbornly out due to the static, refusing to align with his long ponytail even as Robin tried to pat them down.

"My name is Miriam, but most just call me Miri." A gloved hand shot out when she said this, extending out to shake Jay's for an introduction if he wanted. When meeting trainers (and especially new ones) it was always best to be polite. "With talk of Eevee swarms, I figure everyone who is able will try to go." A smirk tugged at her lips a moment later when Fubuki waved a wing to the human. The Delibird liked to introduce himself to people, too. "And this is my starting pokemon, Fubuki. He says hello."

"Unless this lazy pokemon decides he's too tired," he grinned, clicking the button to expand the pokeball before tossing it out, the red light zapping from the center of the ball to form the image of the pokemon before returning to the healer's hand. The tauros blinked at them, first at Liam, then craning it's massive head in Ridley's direction, giving him a mild glance-over before losing interest. Giving the pokemon an affectionate pat on the shoulder, the healer climbed onto the large bull's back, motioning for Ridley to climb on.
"Nah, we're already soaked. And I think we'd look pretty ridiculous, riding on tauros with umbrellas."

Aurore frowned, looking at the large group of people that had accumulated at the Ranch, where she was currently waiting for the rain to let up. Raikou didn't mind traveling in the rain, but that didn't mean Aurore liked it. Currently, she was trying to figure out how exactly to get to know the other trainers around without exposing her Raikou. He had no official pokeball to be honest, as she'd never thought to capture him in one, he was more of an unofficial teammate. Always following her around, and this time insisting to come with her instead of the Elektrike, Sholto, or her disabled Furret, Dream. The Raikou had shown great concern for her traveling on her own, and had not stopped following her for fear of her safety.
But it was her turn to worry for him now. He was sitting on the edge of the trees, his brilliant eyes watching her dutifully while keeping mostly hidden. He'd been caught by Team Rocket once before, and Aurore would do ANYTHING to make sure he was not caught again. It had been a horrible experience for all parties involved last time, and she never wanted to feel so hopeless with her pokemon ever again. The problem was you never knew who you could and couldn't trust on these mass journeys. So instead, she snuck over to the edge of the trees and took out a large hunk of meat, putting it on the ground beside her while Raikou's head tentatively stuck out, swooping up the meat and munching on it with a loud, rumbling purr. Thankfully the rain while not nearly as bad as before, was not totally gone, nor were the dark clouds and occasional thunder, so Raikou's thunderous purr blended in with the surrounding area.
Leaning to pet his head, Aurore smiled at him.
"You didn't cause this nasty storm, did you?" she asked teasingly, to which Raikou gave her an incredulous look of 'If I had, it'd be more impressive looking' while twitching his tail, causing a soft rustle in the bushes by him.
