I used to go window shopping in places like this http://www.bladerunner.tv/short-sleeve-tshirts-c-81.html and this article http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL109949720071210 sparked my attention on the whole issue. For me, character construction is something of a learning experience. I also found out they had one of these: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/09/spider-silk/ normally, what Noire used to do was have an outer layer and an inner layer. The inner layer was often tighter and slightly padded, while the outer layer was more baggy and loose, giving him the appearance of a larger body type. In the case of the tournament, He's described as: Quote: His formal robes appeared as a hybrid of yukata and ceremonial kenjutsu, the smooth flowing hakama concealing god only knows what in its folds, making it difficult to read his foot work. The sheen of the silk had an unusual pallor, the patterns psychedelic and almost living - a true testament to the art of Japanese embroidery While I wouldn't say I was being direct about wearing "something" I think it's pretty obvious in retrospect.

What happens if your fight isn't complete when time's up? Is it a judgment call? Maybe our schedules didn't mesh, but it feels like I spent more time waiting than writing.

Yes, Judgement call. And unless you PM your opponent and schedule a set time to bang out a fight, waiting more than writing is pretty normal.

My opponents insists on bringing in a judge to see if my takedown stops me from getting knifed in the side and the fight ending.
Judge away.

I didn't insist on bringing a judge into this, and it isn't really necessary in my view.
Your counter-attack worked fine, and if you read my post, Iopurl doesn't attack unless you ended up knee-to-knee, which you didn't.

Sorry, sorry. Should have discussed it more with you. You just said you wanted to bring a judge in after I posted, so I took that as "Your attack doesn't work, I think I win."

Old Man KB You guys should really give Roen someone to fight. 3nodding I suggest.... SHINJIKOWHATEVERHISNAMEIS! yeah you guys need to let the waitlist people start fighting in place of the No-shows. Then the no-shows can be stuck on the wait list for the next no -shows.

They gave me Summerfae to fight. I think Roen is done fighting to be honest, for this round at least.
Noire: I was the last one on the waitlist, no more behind me sadly.
Though I'm sure that if two people lost their opponents, they may just go up against each other or something. Thats just my idea.

Except that then round 2 would have an empty pairing somewhere.
Clearly people need to sign up to be on the waitlist just in case. Where's Fish? I thought he was going to join this.

Hmm. I wonder if this was taken into consideration with such a knockout type tournament.

am I allowed to use an action to start minor healing, or is that outside the bounds of what's in my profile, as interpreted by the judges? here's the Yoga reference: Quote: Learning that the truants' destination had been the Himalayas, the officer related a strange story. "I see you are crazy about saints! You will never meet a greater man of God than the one I saw only yesterday. My brother officer and I first encountered him five days ago. We were patrolling by the Ganges, on a sharp lookout for a certain murderer. Our instructions were to capture him, alive or dead. He was known to be masquerading as a sadhu in order to rob pilgrims. A short way before us, we spied a figure which resembled the description of the criminal. He ignored our command to stop; we ran to overpower him. Approaching his back, I wielded my ax with tremendous force; the man's right arm was severed almost completely from his body. "Without outcry or any glance at the ghastly wound, the stranger astonishingly continued his swift pace. As we jumped in front of him, he spoke quietly. "'I am not the murderer you are seeking.' "I was deeply mortified to see I had injured the person of a divine-looking sage. Prostrating myself at his feet, I implored his pardon, and offered my turban-cloth to staunch the heavy spurts of blood. "'Son, that was just an understandable mistake on your part.' The saint regarded me kindly. 'Run along, and don't reproach yourself. The Beloved Mother is taking care of me.' He pushed his dangling arm into its stump and lo! it adhered; the blood inexplicably ceased to flow. "'Come to me under yonder tree in three days and you will find me fully healed. Thus you will feel no remorse.' "Yesterday my brother officer and I went eagerly to the designated spot. The sadhu was there and allowed us to examine his arm. It bore no scar or trace of hurt! http://www.crystalclarity.com/yogananda/chap4.htmlFor this scene I want to fix his hair.

Lol, for the people who don't have opponents, I have plenty of alt-characters who could step in and fight, at least to give them someone to smash face on until the start of the next rounds, and let them win by default.
I've got plenty of time on my hands, and at least three or four extra characters floating around.
Just a thought to give people who might be missing opponents a chance to fight and flex their muscles while they get to pummel someone, and still manage to have an entertaining fight.
Probably not the best idea, but I figured I'd throw it out there, since the first round is getting so wanked.

@Noire: Okay, you need to explicitly spell out everything he can do, and send it to a Judge. Or all of us, since I reaaaalllly would rather not have to look at a new power you decide fits "yoga/philosophy mastery" that isn't explicitly listed, and decide if I can tolerate it. Since, y'know, I'm really not going to follow all of your links and read them carefully to figure out what powers you have. I'd read it for spiffy information and new things to read, but I have a lot of things I would much rather do than comb it looking for what might be okay.
I'm inclined to say "yes, you can fix your hair with woo-woo and possibly heal minor wounds", but I question the purpose of doing so.
