Eric nodded to Amy's comment. "Elizabeth, what did you see?" He tried not to push her, but it was so hard! She knew something that could help find Amy's killer. Eric knew it was difficult to talk about; he understood that, but none the less he was impatient.
In a bored tone, as it was his most practiced one, he said, "Nursery Rhymes are a little weak as a closing argument, aren't they?" He watched her leave, though he silently cursed her, knowing that it wouldn't be productive to detain her. That was his problem: he couldn't back up his threats. Not talking for 24 hours was easily possible, Giles Corey proved that. Time spent focused on that girl was time wasted.
Jeff was coming back with two cups of coffee as Emily ran by. He wouldn't have thought anything of it if she'd been walking, but her hurried state alarmed him. "Miss Perkins!" He tried to call after her, then dropping the hot coffee, and cursing as it splashed up onto his leg, he hurried after her.
Alfred immediately sat down at his desk, calling in to trace her cell phone just for appearance purposes. Most likely the dot wouldn't move, but if it does, they might get a hit. Then he tapped into the stations security cameras, hoping to see if she'd get into a vehicle. As she walked off screen, he saw Jeff leaving the main offices. It took him a second to place why he'd be running, then he called his cell phone. He could imagine the jumpy Mario theme song that Jeff placed as his ring tone. Shaking his head, he answered, "Just let her go, we don't need her." He could practically feel Jeff's pants through the phone. While the guy was in perfect shape, he panted like a Mastiff. "God, Jeff, just go home and get some new pants. I need to call CPS." Then he hung up the phone, without any farewell or conclusion. It was a cop thing.

((I'm so sorry guys, my mother is going to be visiting for a week or so, my posting will be a tad spotty until next Thursday but I'll try to post at least once a day...)
Her eyes widened a bit and she focused in on Eric's eyes as if realizing something earth shattering, "I saw him. On the roof. When I ran." Her eyes squeezed shut, "But I can't see him clearly, only his top half and the street lamp didn't light him up. But I saw him!" She seemed desperate, she was certain that Eric wouldn't believe her, "Amy was murdered! Someone pushed her, she didn't jump! She wouldn't jump!"

Amy smiled and gave a startling laugh. Her sisster had seen something, and it was big. This could really help them! "Oh wonderful!" she exclaimed.

((I hope you have fun during her visit.))
Eric took a different approach: his barely used protective brotherly nature grew and wanted to wrap around Elizabeth. "He didn't see you: you weren't hurt, right?" Brushing her hair out of her face, he looked the young girl over quickly. She wasn't under their father's hand yet, so her pale body wasn't littered with bruises. Letting out a small sigh, he ran a hand through his own hair, spiking it up. "Amy's right, that is wonderful." He gave her an encouraging smile. Silently, he wanted to ask Elizabeth if she could stay there, at least for now until they found a different family to adopt her. She seemed so frail, how could she survive their father's harsh hand? However, he was an adult, and realized that to bring her into the house, he needed Jack's approval as well. The apartment lease was in both of their names, and perhaps Jack would disapprove. Eric doubted it, but he wanted to ask before he offered.

Jack was trying really hard to understand everything, and the more this scene played out the less and less he doubted Eric. He could tell he wasn't lying, and neither was his sisster. And just like Eric, he was glad she hadn't ben hurt to. Jack knew how harmfull their father was. He stood up and walked over to Eric and took his hand. "Eric....I don't mind if she stayes here...but..can you explain to me what's going on?" His voice felt small, and he was trying hard to be part of this and help.

Emily entered the rough part of town. If there was anything she could find, this would be one of the better places to look. She stared blankly at a man sneering at her. The man recoiled a little, but was obviously was still thinking of grabbing her. She walked into a side ally, where a door swung open from the left building. A man flew out, hitting the asphalt ground with a sickening thud. A large brutish man came out, looking down at the uncouncious man at his feet. She started to walk away not wanting any part of it when someone called after her. "Hey, sweetie. Were the **** do you think you're going?". His low rumbling voice didn't stop her from walking on. The hand that landed on her shoulder did however. She spun around quickly, slapping the hand away in one smooth motion. The man carressed his hand, an angry look on his face. "What do you think you're doing *****? This is my territory. You don't slap me, I own this place!", he roared. Emily swiftly raised her foot and kicked the man where it counted. The man swore and fell to his knees, only catching a glimpse of her feet as she ran out of the ally.

A small smile crossed his lips, grateful Jack still had the ability to read his mind. Leaving his sister to be in Amy's arms, he went to Jack's side, stroking a hand softly down his back. "Hey honey," He paused a moment just to take in the smell of his love and relax. "Elizabeth thinks she saw someone. Amy and I agree that it was good, but I think we're more grateful whoever it was, didn't hurt Elizabeth too." For a moment he just looked tired, laying his head down on Jack's shoulder and releasing a quiet sigh.

Eric sighed, "In a little bit," still he didn't pull away from Jack's warmth. He did glance over at Amy and Elizabeth, smiling at each of them. Then his eyes flicked back up to Jack, questioningly, "Are you feeling okay? A girl we-" he started over, "Amy and I met this girl, Emily...Perkins, I think was her name. She got sick around Amy for a while, but it stopped after she saw Amy. That's why I ask, do you feel okay?" He was hoping that he was being clear.

After a trip to the City Records Archive, Emily made a beeline to Eric's apartment. Walking to the apartment door, glanced around to check for any police. She didn't want them butting in. She knocked, a smile on her face. She was in a sort of giddy mood. She always was when she crushed someone's nuts.

Amy paused and looked at the door. She had an idea who that was. She opened the door figuring out how to actualy move things now. "Thought so" she said tiredly.

Emily's smiled waned a little, but not completely, as Amy spoke. "Something wrong?", she asked, looking Amy in the eyes.

Amy returned the gaze unsure what Emily would see in her eyes but almost didn't care. "HA HA nice joke" she said sarcastically. "did yo figure something out?"

Emily frowned, she didn't mean it to be a joke, but unfortunately she didn't think before she spoke. But then her smile lit up again, but just a little. "Well, not yet. It does take time. What I really need is to get to crime scene or have an eye witness. Or both". She suddenly looked around for another person, then it hit her, Amy opened the door herself.
