ooc; i'm going to pretend you said 'lelain' until you edit and change it to lelain (or dory) as those are the only names medara has given for herhimself as of this point. unless i missed the part where noblemen can read minds ;D
[ CARLTON of DENASY ]
"My arrogance, Lord Tristram?" Carlton parroted quietly, truly dumbfounded and deeply offended now. "Pray, do not be churlish; I do not think anyone would take kindly to being called a 'pretty boy', myself least of all. It is against my nature and raising to let such a comment go unremarked upon, even - nay, especially, I should argue - in the direst of situations. As I understand your intentions are good, I will not hold your momentary arrogance against you."
[ MEDARA y'TISAN ]
Medara has already forgotten the names she has given for herself, and thus doesn't realize when the Nobleman addresses her. She's also quite busy staring at the Prince as though he's grown an extra head, or two. It appears as though he has been replaced with someone else.
Mah... Unimportant. Her attention focuses on the Wizard, who refuted her claim that the Princess is dead. Looking up at him, she arches one delicate brow before questioning, "Who, exactly, are you?" She jabs a finger in his direction. "And how do I know you can be trusted!"
I, not we. Medara does not play the 'collective' game, generally, unless it benefits her.

[Tristram]
"Good to know," Tristram smiled at the Princes' proposal of the Nobleman's arrogance, "You are indeed the better man then I guess. As for the pretty boy comment, just say I was remarking upon your handsome physique and if you still wish to argue the point we can do so afterwards. Now on to business, Jonathan with me please."
Tristram made his way to the back and hoped Jonathan was in fact following him. As he walked the nobleman continued to bring up events and facts, all the while trying to piece them together as best he could. There were still things that had him scratching his head but he pushed those aside while he used what he had at the moment. Looking up he could see they had made it out back and in the stable area, where a pair of horses waited and a nice looking cart as well.
"Well at least we will travel in style," Tristram said as he went about preparing the cart and horses with Jonathan.

[Kira Knightingale]
Kira frowned at both men thinking this whole battle of wills was something a little untimely, given the development of the situation, and liked even less that the Prince was desiring to leave so soon. She opted not to say anything at all, considering enough had been said already, and so she took the care of Kaiden's arm eagerly from Jonathon to give her a reason not to look nor speak to the Prince concerning his leave.
She took the arm gently, careful to keep the makeshift bandages stay their course, and peeled the vest carefully from his grip. It was bloodsoaked now and wasn't doing any good for the wound at all.
"There, there," She said gently, noting the palid coloring of Kaiden's face and neck, "Once we are on the road I can see to this. Unfortunately without herbs like before but certainly with alcohol."
[Kaiden Morgan]
Kira's proximity was something that Kaiden could better tolerate, her woman's presence was not a strangeness to her nor a possible threat to her sex-concealment, and she relaxed notably. Even under the strain of the pain of the wound she managed a wry grin at the maiden's administrations.
"You just want to get me drunk now, don't you?"
Any humor at the jest was lost when she immediately coughed following her words and adopted a seriousness while telling the maiden where to find the sitting room's stock of alcohols and which to grab. When she'd brought them back Kaiden immediately uncorked the bottle and knocked back a considerable amount. Kira had to take it from her, eager as she was to numb the pain, and made a show of keeping it out of Kaiden's reach.
Something about a 'blood-thinner.' Kaiden didn't care, she was already feeling a lot better.

Jonathon's head itched the more he tried to think of the poster and how his face was on it, along with Lyta's. They were relatively new additions to this band of travelers, and have not announced themselves. Then it struck him. What if they somehow found out that he was Lord Trstram's body guard? That would be an upsetting notion, if it were true. Jonathon had heard of Officers such as himself being killed doing their duties on many occasions, but this would be the first time he had ever heard of one being a 'target'.
"My Lord. I fear that much danger lies ahead of yourself, and the rest of us. I would have to ask that you not leave or go anywhere without me at your side. I cannot serve you if you do otherwise."

[ CARLTON of DENASY ]
Carlton took note of Kira's cold shouldering of him, and instantly felt a twinge of regret. He disliked being at odds with people when it was unnecessary, and this was certainly unnecessary.
The Prince followed her to the Cavalier's side; for a moment, he studied the Cavalier. While his wounds were nasty, so long as they were cared for he would be fine. They were not life-threatening unless they became infected and the infection allowed to fester. Glancing back at the Wizard, the Carlton wracked his brain for memory of the man's name... "Ah, yes, Wizard Relar ti'Synar, was it? Is there anything you might be able to do for this fellow here?"
To Kira, Carlton lowered his voice and said beseechingly, "Don't be cross with me, fair maiden; my quest is not something I can ignore."

- - - [Hippolyta, the Troll. "Lyta"] Lyta had nothing new. The same task was given to her that was already hers to bear. She couldn't help but sadly mutter so under her breath.
The sight of the injured one's blood spiked the oft-thought of sadness in her. Kaiden, Lyta had heard the caned man say. She wasn't exactly oblivious to the others, but Lyta's attention was all on Kira and Kaiden. When Kira finished up as much as she said she could, Lyta picked up the injured Kaiden and with the same caring and gentleness she had shown Kira, cradled Kaiden in her arms...
"Should we move, little Kira? Should Lyta take Kaiden to this... cart? Or keep hold of Kaiden?" She noted Kaiden's slight frame, but paid not much mind to, deciding not to judge. Kaiden had felt much less like other slight men though to Lyta's arms... more curved, but hidden...
Deep in the back of Lyta's mind, some of the stone was happier. It was good though that so many names were tossed around, even as the incongruity in some of her thoughts straightened out. Tristan, the caned man, was simply a clean man with a cane who loved foxes. He likely would not like to be a caned man. And there was Prince and the Wizard.

[Kaiden Morgan]
Kaiden looked from the prince to the maiden, from the maiden to the prince, and then laughed.
"Come on Your Highness, don't let a little thing like bounties on our head keep you around - after all, it'll be easier for you to find your princess without help, won't it?"
It was drink that loosened her tongue and, conveniently, drink that made even easier to play the dashing rogue.
"Dun worry 'bout our fair Maiden, sire, we're more th'n equ'pp'd to tekare off'er."
She said it with a wink and a sly grin, wrapping her free arm about the girl and pulling her close. It was a coping mechanism, to distract herself from how much she was still bleeding. Kaity didn't like pain, though she didn't mind inflicting it on others, so when she was at the receiving end of it she did what she wanted to get her mind off of it. In this case she was bound to either begin swearing profusely or, given the opportunity, overpower the pain with sensual sensations.
Somewhere after that comment she remembered more whiskey, which was very nice, and then being scooped up by someone rather large. Immediately she felt a sense of alarm, someone was near and actually touching her, she hated to be touched. But when she saw the face of the troll, Lyta, she relaxed. Something was calming about this particular Earthen and, as she was in no position to resist, she simply allowed herself to be cradled and continued adding her witty (she thought so) remarks when the opportunity arose around her.
[Kira Knightingale]
Kira scowled deeply at Kaiden's comment and curtly placed the bottle of whiskey back in his hands just so that he'd have something to occupy his mouth with other than embarrassing comments. When the cavalier took it eagerly she eluded the grip he'd formed on her shoulders and turned to the prince so that she might say something, anything, in response to him.
But she couldn't find the words. She pondered the sincerity in his face while she searched and in that study she knew that finding the princess was something that he was meant to do... but still could not bring herself to accept his departure.
Finally she turned back to Kaiden and took the bottle away once more, corking it and placing it in the same back that she had recovered in the village, and said only: "Someone please help me with Kaiden, I want to get him laid down inside the cart."
Ignoring the prompt commentary from Kaiden at her desire to see him, "on his back", she secured a make-shift sling for his hurt arm and began to guide his stumbling feet after Tristram and Jonathon.
Lyta was the one who obliged, taking the young man up gently in her strong, green-toned arms, and Kira smiled appreciatively though the same happyness from that morning was now vacant. Her arms were free and she now found herself with no means to distract herself from responding to a Prince beseeching her understanding..
"Yes, Lyta, to the cart please. I think it would be better for him to be laying down... and if there is going to be trouble you will likely want your arms free."

- - - [Hippolyta, the Troll. "Lyta"] "Lyta has two arms and broad shoulders. She will see to it there is no trouble for Kira. She will move Kaiden to the cart now? Should she bring a... mattress...? From above? Kaiden still chimed in every now and then, every chime causing a short and gentle rocking motion after each. As gentle and careful as a deeply worried mother over her child.

Relar stared down at the Halfling, and stared her down when she accused his trustworthiness. The Wizard snorted at her.
"I am Relar ti'Synar. As to whether I can be trusted, of course I can. As to whether you can be trusted, which I realize you hadn't asked but now I am asking... well, I'd pick a Wizard over a Halfling any day, fiendish midget!" Relar was about to continue when the Prince called to him.
"I'm pants at healing, highness," Relar informed the Prince. And he was. Actually, Relar wasn't sure he knew anyone who was really very good at it. It was just a difficult thing, healing was. Though he'd like to learn one day, maybe. Yes. Healing. What a project that would be ... - "Oh, yes, but healing. No, no I simply cannot heal..." He ambled over to the injured Cavalier, who was currently in the arms of the Troll.
"But! I can summon fire to burn and maybe cauterize the wound to keep it from bleeding. But then you would have burned flesh. And I suppose that method only works in theory. Pity. No, your Highness, I don't think I can do anything for your friend, here."

[Tristram]
Tristram looked at the officer for a moment and chuckled a bit. As they hitched up the cart and horses the Nobleman gave Jonathan a pat on the shoulder.
"That is very thoughtful of you Jonathan, and I would not stop you from doing what you feel is your duty. Just know I went this long without anyone watching my back, I know how to take care of myself. However I would feel most confident knowing I had someone who I could thoroughly riley on."
Tristram hoped up on the cart and gave the reins a quick snaps to have the horses pull the cart, but did his best to have them move slowly. He made his way to one of the side doors that was still moderately hidden from view.
"Go gather the others and let them know where the cart is. If anything comes up I shall join you in the house post haste."

Jonathon walked up to the doorway of the building that ehy had all spent the night in. He was given a request by his Lord, and would see it done. The fact that it were simple did not change the nature of his quest.
"Everyone. We've prepared a horse and Cart that should be enough to accommodate for everyone here. I will still be riding atop my own steed. I can take one passenger behind me if any of you would like to not be on the cart."
Jonathon turned and noticed the Lord Tristram pulling up alongside the exit, awaiting the rest of their party.
"I take it that you are all ready to leave."

"I think we should skip the mattress, Lyta, haste is best."
As if to reinforce what the Maiden said Jonathon arrived only a second after she'd spoken, announcing the readiness of the cart, and Kira nodded to him to let him know he had been heard.
"I will ride a long with Kaiden in the cart but I wish to find clean things to bind his arm with first."
Kira smiled to Lyta and rested a hand on the troll's arm, guiding her to the exit before ducking out of the room and up the stairs to seek a linen cupboard. The red skirt sashayed dramatically as she climbed the stairs quickly and deftly, and then disappeared around the corner only to appear a moment later with an armful of clean towels and sheets.
She followed the rest out of the exit to the cart, readying a makeshift cot for the wounded cavalier quickly before Lyta set him down upon it.

WOLVES
in the distance, a mere few miles from the small village, the chorus of howls from the approaching pack could be heard distinctly. What villagers might have barred the way of the fleeing companions quickly hurried in doors to the shelter that remained, loathe to lose more than what had already been lost to the monkeys, and the streets were soon bare of life. In the dead of day there was not a soul to be seen and only the approaching hunters to be heard.
the outlet of land was being surrounded, cleverly trained wolves and their practiced art of ferreting out their prey employed now. The would not attack in the village, not yet, but faith in the hast of their quarry would allow them to corral them to where they wanted them. Towards the forest.
a satisfied sneer watched from within the village, the Alpha male, flanked by a dour scowl of his mate. He commanded her wordlessly to go, take her place in the hunt, and she vanished without a noise to leave him to his conference with the WITCH.

WOLVES
it took an hour to find them, precious time that burned away as the sun rose, and the alpha female raced against her pack to reach the companions first. a deep rage had found its way to her chest, eating away at the place that had once help so much love for her mate, and now contained only loathing for the bargain that he had made with the Witch. he had stooped so low, committing their breed to slavery in place of death, and she could think of no greater dishonor.
of course she could not truly blame him alone. the Witch had presented a dangerous, impossible choice, and he had softened before the eyes of their cubs. he was a man, a stranger to the death of infants, and so she took to it on a colder approach. she had struggled her greatest against the Witch, passed through her like a ghost, and watched her pups dying before her - but she had watched pups die before. childbirth was a chilling process, even in the best of times, and exiled to the woods she had faced enough loss to know that the future now held far more for them than a sacrifice would have in that moment of fate.
so now she streaked like a black phantom through the empty streets of the village, both the instincts of the hunt and the scent of blood and earth guiding her step, and she rallied herself to do what must be done. betrayal, treachery, Judas kiss. it would be done.
when she came upon them she did not alter her course. in the midst of their preparations to flee, half of their number still within the house they had sheltered in, she threw herself into the wagon. she was swift, and determined, and she knew she had caught them off guard. over the form of the one that had bled a trail, and across the lap of the red-headed maiden that saw to him, she shifted while rolling into the side of the cart. the vehicle lurched with her sudden addition of weight and inertia but she kept her own balance, crouching into a readied position as soon as she had finished changing into her human shape.

[Kaiden Morgan]
All Kaiden witnessed following the warning of danger in the back of her mind was a blur. Perhaps it was her own poor vision due to drink, or magic, but either way she still had sense enough to act on reflex. Her rapier, ever at her side, was drawn with her good arm and followed the form as it travelled past the good Kira and slammed into the side of the cart. Even on her back Kaiden levelled a dangerous glare, one cold and prepared, and had her rapier at the throat of the dark haired woman that now had joined them.
"I think I've had enough surprises for one morning, now be a dear and kindly state your purpose before I get impatient.. keep it simple, if you don't mind, since I might just get bored easily in my current condition."
It could have been the drink, or the wound, but she was already impatient. The blood of the boy still showed on the drawn weapon, she hadn't had time to clean it yet, and that grim display would hopefully inspire words from their visitor.
[Kira Knightingale]
In the blink of an eye Kira had been settling Kaiden into a position to travel, packing sheets about him so that the jostle of the cart would not interfere with her work in patching him up, and then she was facing the sharp metal blade as it ran across her vision and was held at the throat of another woman. She gulped down a yelp of surprise, stilling instead so that she would be outside of interference (and losing an eye), and brought her honey colored gaze to the newcomer.
"Kaiden...perhaps we could ask more gently?"
Not entirely for the sake of the shape shifter of course.
