The Imperator had an idea of what Hrothbert was talking about, but it was still somewhat vague. After putting his boots back on, he walked over and sat down next to his fiance.
"I would like to help, but seeing how well I did against those sirens and the whatever-the-hell-it-was, I'm not so confident that I'll be of any use."

"Go ahead and take some. I haven't put it to much good use since we arrived here." Remus said, sounding depressed. His humorous mood had left him shortly after the incident with the sirens.

He didn't even touch them. It wasn't necessary. Both Remus and Kaok would feel the strange sensation of something rushing out of their veins, and a sudden heaviness, as if they had been walking for hours.
Hrothbert straightened from where he had been learning over the side, eyes flashing with a renewed vigor.

The fatigue was familiar, though she'd always slowly acquired it up until now. Adjusting took a moment, but she did finally, it didn't bother her much. What did bother her was how Remus appeared to be beating himself up - Kaok really wished she could do something to make him feel better.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Fatigue wasn't a stranger to the Imperator either. Being a leader had brought a good share of fatigue and stress. If not for the fact that he could download into new bodies, Remus' hair would have been been completely gray at this point. Still, feeling it creep up so quickly on him was a bit offsetting.

A pulse of silver-blue sped out from the water around the boat, flying towards the horizon in all directions. As it passed, everything seemed to stop; waves hung in mid-break, seabirds in mid-flight-
Everything seemed to lurch to the side, but the world quickly righted itself again. When motion resumed, it somehow seemed more stable.
"We can find her now."

The sorcerer was still setting the last remnants of the spell when the Kraken attacked, and was caught off-guard. Another tentacle, this one ending in some sort of barbed hook, lashed out at his shoulder, practically tearing it open.

Her sword was ready soon, despite her loss of energy, and she found herself attacking mostly out of muscle memory. She slashed at the creature as fervently as she could.

((This will be my last post for the night. Of course, the Dice Gods continue to be jerks.))
Remus attempted to hack at the mini-kraken with Valiance, but a tentacle wrapped around his fist and prevented him from bringing his sword down. Another tentacle grabbed his ankle and tripped him. He struggled, but the fatigue he was feeling prevented him from using all of his strength. Remus gritted his teeth in pain as the barbs dug into his flesh.

The Kraken slid another tentacle up the side of the boat, causing the vessel to lurch dangerously. Hrothbert was saving his strenth for fighting rather than healing, ignoring the stinging pain in his shoulder.

She made just another hack at the beast, trying to prevent it from getting its tentacles on either her friends or the boat.

Another lash with the barbs knocked the sorcerer off his feet. There must have been some sort of paralytic in the barbs, he could barely move his injured shoulder.
There was a surge of self-loathing. He had let himself be brought low by...it would have to wait.
