Levant

Something in the back of his mind told him the blondes seemed familiar. Yet, Levant knew he'd never met either of these fellows. It must have been the way they carried themselves that reminded him of another person. Someone who was as scary as Usagi in terms of influence. Well, at least influence over his own being. The Canadian wasn't the type to keep up with all the political hubbub unless a job demanded it of him. Speaking of demanding something, he'd been about to force a connection to his all too quiet team mates when the little hairs on the back of his neck suddenly stood on end.

...What? It was odd that he'd even ask when it was incredibly obvious just who was so quickly approaching. The one and only person he'd felt a need to keep his ninja-like guard up while in the Mansion. Of course it had to be Heresy. At first Levant didn't bother with a response to the greeting. The man had been hoping against all odds that maybe, just for once, if he'd ignored the purple one, he'd be left alone. But it wasn't the case this time either. Brown brows rose slightly at the inquiry. "Ehhh..." he breathed out before realizing the blasted Canadian joke. Again. Always with the accent jokes! Heck, Levant barely had a trace of a Canadian one and still! He'd even made sure to be rid of the majority of the slang by the time he entered university for the sake of being fully understood. Mildly tanned skin turned a light shade of pink at his own thoughtless response. Like that was going to make anything better. He may as well have said 'A wee bit run out due to havin' to hide myself in the washroom. And what aboot you, eh?.' For a second, the thought of actually saying those exact words crossed his mind until something heavy and intrusive hit his shoulder.

Levant's first thought was to perform a swift throw which would effectively land The Ire flat on his back. But. ********. He was supposed to be a professional. Hershey was a Client still. And for a Companion to go around knowingly tossing Clients around was absurd. Plus he'd probably be lectured by Usagi about reacting too quickly and violently to harmless things, which wouldn't be true at all in this case. As logical as this as was, fiery green eyes were attempting to burn a few holes into the hand that seemed to be searing through his shoulder. Since he couldn't very well bite the thing off, this was the next best choice. The jostling did nothing whatsoever to improve his mood, friendly intentions or not.

Wait. Wait a minute. Had he heard correctly? Hang out? With him? Why? For all things sacred and holy, why?! The animosity must have been apparent in the air whenever they were in the same room. Demon or not, the purple one was not daft. Bewildered eyes turned away from the hand, yet Levant couldn't bring himself to look Heresy in the face. How the hell was he supposed to respond to this? 'No' wasn't exactly an option in his current position. 'Yes' would be ...inconvient.

Then something else caught his attention. Something out of the corner of his eyes that made him want to tear out his retinas. Okay, fine. It wasn't so bad. The very fact that it was from this guy was the problem. In public. Saying something about that would mean he was looking. Which was weird. But if Heresy was as stubborn as he usually was, Levant was probably going to be followed regardless of what he'd say. And surely the other man could feel that. Ugh, God. What to do?

Soon after poof! The Canadian's face went bright red as he realized he'd been staring at the other man's crotch for all this time. Staring quite openly at that. Instantly, those emerald orbs locked onto grey ones. A brow twitched. Then a slow, easy smile appeared. The initial embarrassment seemed to have vanished down some dark dank hole. Levant found his body sidling closer, unsure of what he exactly intended to do. The training from his other job kicked in. The one that always had instincts first with no room for any hesitation whatsoever. Smoothly, a hand was snaked around Heresy's waist with digits applying pressure to ensure their pressence was known. "I'd really love to help you out with that..." Levant murmured, eyes glancing downwards for a split second. His fingertips made a point of gently brushing up the taller man's side. Firm muscles were admired somewhere in the back of his mind along with those cries of outrage. The screams to stop just because it'd be outlandish. And what would The Ire think of him afterwards?! Also the fact that this was possibly a souless being. As if that matters! As if any of that matters! The inner turmoil was completely ignored as he went on. With a brazenly wicked smile, he moved his free hand to hook an index finger in Heresy's belt, effectively closing off some of the space between them. God, it felt warm. Too warm. But that wasn't the point, not that he had his mind on that. Swift fingers moved to pull out the remainder of Heresy's half-assed tucked in shirt. The fuzzy atmosphere around them disappeared as he pulled back.

"Muuuch better," Levant said with an appreciative chuckle. "You've no idea how crazy that was driving me." He moved to give Heresy a pat on the--wait, no. Higher. On the uh... his hand paused in midair before deciding on the abs. Surely, that was safe ground. Did guys normally do that with their friends or frenemies? ...Co-workers? Hugs were normal and pats to the back... oh screw it. It was weird, alright? Everything always had to get all weird around this guy.

He took a step away, turning his back to his co-worker/customer/frenemy, in hopes of further killing the strange warmth that had arisen. "You do realize all I've got to do is run a few messages, eh? Gotta be sure everythin's not too brutal with the security cammies and basic 'quipment," he replied in his thickest Canadian accent possible. Surely, the menial tasks would deter Hershey from wanting to stick by if not Levant's earlier stunt.

(( Sorry if I'm assuming, but I wasn't sure what Heresy was wearing. D: Since he just came from dance class I figured he'd at least be have a dress shirt and a belt on.

Maybe you should give them a prod? Even though it's a little odd not to check up on an RP after all this time. ))

Break away from everybody, break away from everything.

-= (( I've sent them an email about it. She did mention before that she couldn't post huge like this, and I'm wondering if she just decided to leave after that. Scared away before she even started. :< Anyway, if she doesn't reply in let's say, three days, we'll deal with it then. Sorry you have to wait, Imoto, after being in the RP for so short a time. :/

@Bright: It's fine. I hadn't really thought of what clothes he'd be wearing, except a leather jacket since he rode his motorcycle over. What you wrote is fine.

Also, Myin added me on Facebook. I think she iz stalkin me, gais. :< ))

**Theodore**Tel**

Tel held Aya's gaze steadily. He felt as though he was being measured for something, and since he didn't know what the other was looking for that would either count for or against him, he kept himself carefully neutral. Seeing what the other would make of that would be most interesting. Ah, a potentially embarrassing confession! How sweet! Tel must have done something to ratchet up his likability factor. His typically uber calm/still countenance had often turned people off to him; they called him cold. Then again, some had found his lack of spazz-ability to be reassuring. And there was always the possibility that Aya simply trusted easily and would have confessed to the devil himself. A bit of an exaggeration, but a point to consider.

Tel paused a moment to formulate his answer, but hopefully not long enough for his companion to die a little inside from thinking the worst. "First reaction," he began with a smile in his voice, "You really like your books Aya." Another beat passed as he poured his tea into the dainty cup that came with it. A tiny spoonful of brown sugar and a short stir later the brew was almost ready; just needed to cool. "Second reaction," Tel continued, "It's actually not unbelievable that an author would research their subject for accuracy, even in a fiction book. I've certainly read fiction novels that properly described various technologies. After all, unless the author has set their story in an entirely new world where anything goes, it would look rather foolish for them to be espousing the healing benefits of a known poison or some such thing." Tel blew lightly on his tea and took a careful sip. Still a bit too hot. "Furthermore, you don't strike me as the type who would do anything stupid. I assume you did a little research of your own on the ingredients," the little male concluded. At least, he sincerely hoped Aya had done so.

((@Drakie: It's fine, it isn't your fault. I've found that I have a tendency to clear a room as well as an RP. D: Of course, if it was about the post size...didn't she read other peoples' posts? I mean, it isn't exactly a surprise if you check even a page or two. Besides, I'm not very demanding. T^T I could deal with whatever as long as it isn't, like, bad grammar and only a few sentences. D: I'll just resume waiting for a bit. Not like Cherub has a client to worry about anyway.))

~ていし TEISHI~ Dustry Chevalier

Teishi looked, clearly dumbfounded, at the boy who had grabbed his wrist. He cringed a little, realizing that the boy was almost yelling at him, but realized that he was actually trying to help him. Of course, Teishi didn't really understand how he was trying to help him, but he kept on nodding his head while the boy was talking, trying to feign understanding. Then the boy began asking him questions, and Teishi wasn't really sure how to answer them.

He noticed the boy looking over his clothing, so Teishi looked down slightly too. He wasn't sure why the boy looked annoyed with his appearance. Well, he had to admit, the other boy was dressed much better than he was, but Teishi was never one to actually dwell on appearances. So what if his jacket wasn't exactly like the other boys? He was wearing a mixed culture outfit, and he could see that it annoyed the other boy.

"Yes, I'm new." He only replied, blinking once. He didn't answer a single one of the other boy's other questions, pulling his wrist free from the his grasp with a single flick. Finally, he answered the boy's last question. "And my gimmick? I dance and play music." He looked at him, noticing that anger was filling the other boy's eyes. Anger or annoyance, it was hard to tell.

"Sorry if I don't know how to survive. I guess living on the streets for more than half my life isn't paying off much, is it?" He muttered quietly, then he began walking away. "I'm more of a music player anyway, since I never got much for dancing." Dustry muttered, waving his hand over his shoulder slightly. Was life at this place really that difficult?

~ Aya ~

That pause...
It was as if Aya could feel each beat of his heart in his ears while waiting for Tel's reaction to that.
'I shouldn't have told him!' the young man scolded himself. 'Way to go, Tetusya! Scare off the first person who's actually nice to you in this...'

But then he heard it.
That wonderful admission that was perhaps the truest statement he had ever heard.
'You really like your books Aya.'
Tetusya couldn't help it. He blushed again, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah well... it... it's my disposition I suppose."
Though the fact that Tel had more than one reaction was rather intriguing.

In the past, if Tetusya had told one of his friends that, his friends would probably have blurted out some response regarding how 'weird' or 'hen na'...
But Tel actually thought over his reply carefully, almost as if he truly cared about the reaction which Aya might have to his words...

As he listened to the rest of Tel's comment, it only made Aya happier.
"Of course I did research." Tetusya spoke, carefully pouring him a cup of the created tea and adding a spoonful of honey to the mixture.
As of now, the kitchen staff had seemingly decided to leave them alone, though Aya noticed that they were still listening.
Picking up the tea pot and his cup, Aya nodded toward the door, "Let's go back into the dining room. It will be more comfortable, especially for you to eat lunch in, Tel-san."
Tetsuya lead the way, making sure to hold the door open for Tel with his foot, before moving to sit down again.
He sipped the hot tea, glad for the warmth on his throat. "I'm surprised really." Aya spoke, his gaze focused on Tel. "Most people simply call me 'otaku' and leave it there. You technically didn't even do that."
With a friendly smile, Tetsuya sipped at his tea again.

"Ugh!" Insulted that the boy had just pulled away and tried to dismiss him so easily, Kane began to follow, his skirt bouncing cutely as he did his best to keep pace with the younger boy. "You know, you aren't the only one who's lived on the streets, so stop acting like such a little brat," he warned, feeling as though the kid didn't truly appreciate his current situation, although he fully understood that there were times when he could be pretty bratty himself. However, the way he saw it, that was just one of his many charms. After all, being a little childish every now and then was cute, and he wanted to use every trick he could to get a patron of his own. This boy didn't seem to be trying to pull that, though. To Kane it just seemed like he was trying to find something to blame his bad mood on, which wasn't fair.

Bothered by the fact that this boy was another dancer, Kane said, "Well, you'd better stick to music then; you don't want to give yourself more competition by trying to do what so many others here can do better." Kane was aware that he wasn't the only dancer in the house; however, because he was so new he had little power over most of the other companions. Kane knew he was a beautiful dancer, and very talented as well. There was also his contortionist abilities, which could help when a patron was looking for something a little different that usual. This boy was even newer than him, though, and younger, so at least he could intimidate him a little bit, if not enough to keep him quite until he got a patron. Even if he wouldn't listen to words, Kane knew he was a better dancer, and after he had a client all to himself, he would leave the boy alone again.

"So, what kind of instrument do you play?" Kane asked, still trying to gauge how big of a threat this kid might pose to him. As long as he stuck to dancing and this kid stuck to playing music, their styles wouldn't clash too much, and they might even be able to help each other practice. However, when it came down to it, they would still be rivals until they both had at least one regular customer of their own. Even though Kane normally didn't concern himself with the other companions, it was mainly because they had such seniority over him. In such a case, they would certainly be favoured by a customer, and Kane respected that. However, he was above this boy, if only by a hair, which meant it was his chance to get an edge up. In the future, if they had to compete for the same man, then Kane wanted to know how he might be able to increase his own chances of being chosen.

((But you can't blame us. You only posted once before disappearing, so it was like "lol, where'd she go?" Plus, you mentioned post length being an issue and there was all of that Gaia glitching, so it wasn't a stretch to think you might have left. Glad you didn't, though.))
