He couldn't help but make a face at the Rocket, who didn't really seem bothered by the uphill hike. Even through the white undershirt the healer could identify the remarkably defined muscles that the white shirt clung to. He knew Ridley must work out quite a bit, so of course this little exercise wouldn't bother him. Not that it bothered the healer too much. He wasn't exactly built (lifting weights was not in his job description, and he was more of a runner anyway) but still... Ridley didn't even look like it was bothering him. Which was more than Liam could say. He was panting a little already, grunting and groaning softly more in petulance than actual strain, but he was surly feeling it. Especially the damn heat!
Exhaling hard, Liam reached back to lift his ponytail off his neck, sweat trickling along his neck and back. "I got a job at a pokemon center a little after we parted ways," He offered, fanning himself with the front of his shirt, "It's kept me busy, I guess." He paused, managing a grin. "I missed you. Whatever you been up to?"
The prospect of cool cabins was indeed welcome, and the healer looked up from his conversation to sigh in relief as well.
"Thank god."

Finally. Tomi ran up to the box that was marked rentals. He grabbed one of the pokeballs and knowing how to activate it from his brother, did so. Out came a chubby Rattata with a black stripe down his back. 'Yes' Tomi thought, he really wanted a male pokemon. Tomi thought...hmmm..What should I name you. He looked around. He saw some trees and a lot of campers smiling. 'I know. I'll name you Bonzai." The Rattata looked up and smiled. He was a cute little fellow. Tomi looked around and walked over to the cabins looking at them trying to decide which one he would inhabit.
Ooc: I have to go to work see you in 5 hours!

Ridley sympathized with Liam's struggle, but he was glad that they were nearing the cabins. "That's good. Taking up the old family business, I see," he grinned, recalling his kinship with the Joys. "Me? I've just been... busy," he glanced away. "Lots of jobs, small ones here and there." He didn't want to admit he was still at the bottom of the food chain, after his failure in securing the Mew last year. Soulcrusher helped in grunt battles, but involving the sweet Tauros in anything besides races felt like a crime.
As they arrived at the camp, Ridley echoed Liam's sentiment and immediately headed for one of the further cabins, glancing around the camp, a little fatigued to notice the shabbiness too much. As he dropped his stuff by one of the beds, he was about to go take a shower to rinse off the sweat, but spotted the rental pokemon boxes.
"Rental pokemon?" he blinked, and went to choose a Nidoran F, as many of the other pokemon were snatched up by eager pokemonless individuals.

Flari could take a hint. the girl didn't want to talk, and the Ninetails didn't want to be friends. She smiled and nodded, shutting up. She could see the campground. Finally. She might have been used to walking, but... in this heat everything was worse.
"Cya guys" she said to Koorie and Miu and headed off to the rental boxes. If she was correct, she had to pick up her rattatta. she picked up a pokeball from the box and let out the pokemon.
She checked. It was a female.
"Well, I'll call you Liz. Its as good a name as any." she said to the rattatta, picking her up and hugging her. it was very nice to hug a pokemon.
"Now, Liz, what are we gonna do now? Not a shower." she said, noting the rush, "I dont want to be in THAT stampede." Besides, she had taken a shower before they had left. She was used to going days without a proper bath... though she hated it. She was sure she'd have an oppurtunity later.
she headed towards the cabins, picking one that hadn't been mobbed yet. She took one look and was glad she had brought her travel pack with her. Really, she'd rather sleep outside.
but it looked liked she'd have to use a bed. Oh well. She set up her new Wailmer pillow and lay down for a moment, thinking. At least she could save her sleeping mat and bag.
Liz stared down at this trainer-person who had picked her up. Humans were funny. They had such odd colored fur. this one had red fur. hmm.

"Oh, finally!" Eros sighed in relief as the cabins came into view. Dido leapt from the boy's arms to the ground and trotted beside him as they entered the long-anticipated camp. Eros wrinkled his nose in disgust. It was a relief to be here at last and to have a good rest in sight, but, as he'd feared, the camp was less than pleasant. Dirt everywhere, and the few staff that were coming out to greet them seemed less than enthused. Dido clearly shared her coordinator's attitude toward the camp, and mewed until the boy once again scooped her up into his arms. "Let's find our cabin, and then I have got to take a shower," Eros told his Skitty. He tugged his luggage along behind him as he headed toward the cabins with some of the others.

When Zinnia finally made it to camp, she made a straight beeline for the nearest cabin. Without waiting to see who was in there, she flopped onto the bed and was almost immediately asleep. She hadn't even taken off her shoes or covered herself with a blanket; she was just too exhausted.
Zyk scanned the room, dubbed it safe enough, and fluffed himself on Zinnia's pillow. He really needed to sleep as well. He curled up, wrapped himself in his wings, and fell asleep.
The pair slept soundly, completely unaware of their surroundings.
(( There's my excuse for not keeping up with everyone. xD ))

"I couldn't agree more." Meeka said with a direct nod of her head. Putting her index and middle finger together, Meeka gave a small salute to Phoebe. "Sounds like a plan!" she replied in a gleeful voice. She padded the side pack to her right, fixing her patch with the gesture. "We can share a snack also while we do so. Hope you aren't allergic to some Moo Moo Milk and wheat cookies." Spying the cabins, Meeka turned her head to run her yellow gaze across each one. "Which one you going for?" she asked, not capable of making a decision for herself.

Koorie sighed, staring into one of the cabins. ".... Thank god I brought a tent...." Walking out to pitch it near one of the cabins, she opened up the sack that held the tent and lout out a frustrated cry followed by a good stream of curses. There lay her beautiful tent in shredded ribbons, and she knew JUST what had happened. It was probably a prank pulled by the neighbor's ghastly.
Gritting her teeth, her fists balled by her side shaking a bit, she let out an almost animal like growl. Miu gently gave her a nudge towards the cabin. They needed to get a decent bunk then while the pickings where nice if they weren't going to have a tent to themselves.
Koorie sighed and walked into the cabin, testing the mattresses before finally sitting down on a bottom bunk, her bag right beside her on the ground. "This is just great.... I better not have to deal with men in here....." She muttered softly to herself, then went to pull out her sleeping bag from her pack; at least that was still in tack, as well was her pillow.

Liam's expression went completely blank when Ridley spoke of his jobs. He could guess what the Rocket had been doing, and, as a healer of pokemon, he could honestly say he didn't approve. Not that he didn't approve of Ridley -- he knew (now) that the dark-haired boy would never intentionally hurt a pokemon. Not after they had found that growlithe, small shards of metal in it's muzzle. He had suspected it had been from a small, poorly-made explosive of some sort, most likely Rocket made. Ridley had seemed quite distressed over the pokemon, and had actually ended up keeping it, in the end.
Approaching the camp, the healer was less than impressed, his expression only darkening with each "attraction" he noticed, scowling in annoyance. Following Ridley up to the cabin, he threw his own pack onto the bunk above the Rocket's, stretching a little, not noticing the pokemon. "You want to be on top, or shall I?" He grinned, blinking when he found his friend wasn't paying attention. It was only then that he noticed the pokemon, reaching in to grab a male Nidoran. "Hm. Rentals?"

Finally! Ugh. After the horrendously long walk they were finally at the camp. With a relieved sigh she turned violet eyes downwards to look at her exhausted companion, even more tired than the trainer because of her black fur coat. "Snea...." Lila sighed, only able to drag herself along at this point because of her own loyalty and stubborn determination. With a smile, Claire reached down and scooped up the tired pokemon.
"Cabins're over there, Lila. I'll get you some water and snacks and you can relax for a little while." She didn't have all that much sympathy for the dark-type; after all, they all had to walk that much in the heat and blazing sun.
Walking over to a random cabin and stepping inside, Claire hardly needed to scan the room before seeing a purple-haired girl and her Marowak sitting on one of the beds. Putting on a charming smile, the young woman walked in and set Lila down on a bed, who immediately squealed happily and sprawled herself out. "Hello there," she said to Pip, studying both trainer and pokemon. "My name's Claire, and this is Lila. What are your names? And I hope you don't mind if we room in here with you."

It took Phoebe a moment or two to realize they had reached their destination. However, when she did, she couldn't help but chuckle. "'Ere I am, talkin' about when we get t'the camp, and we're already 'ere!" Grinning from ear to ear, she mirrored Meeka's inspection of the cabins. "How about... the one with a door and beds inside?" Vague answer, but it got the point across. All the cabins were probably equal in quality, though if Phoebe had a say in it, their cabin would probably be the best by the end of the week. Only thing was, there was not a single cabin with a Feebas painted on the door. However, such a minor thing could be fixed by the end if she had the right tools. "Come on, Meeka! Let's go!" Phoebe blindly picked a cabin with a Teddiursa painted on the door, opened the door and wandered in. Was the hike over already? Though Dakota still had plenty of energy, her body was physically worn out. As a result, the puppy Pokemon was panting rather heavily. She trotted towards the cabin her trainer picked, figuring it might be snack time since no more hiking meant food time.
And food time was always very important!

"Sarrr~" Electra whined at Jem. She was much too hot, and this made her unusually demanding. The bulbasaur sent out some vines and latched onto Jem's waist, then promptly flopped onto her stomach. "Bulbaba saur!"
Finally being jarred out of her simmering rage at the bus driver by Electra's demanding call, she turned around towards the pokemon. "Sorry hun, forgot how hard the sun is on you. I'll carry ya the rest of the way." Jem walked back and lifted Electra into her arms. "Oof! Your a bit heavier than I thought you'd be."
"Baa..." Not exactly what Electra liked to hear, but she thought better than to smack her mode of transportation.
"Hey look! We're finally here! Everybody better get outta my way, I need a shower! You could probably use one too, right 'Lectra?"

Adriel walked into a cabin and put his bag down, taking off his coat, he layed on the bed with his upper body completely naked but for a couple of bandages around his forearms and abdomen. He reached for a bowl and filled with water for Tripod, who drank heartly at the cool water.
Resting back onto his bed, which was five inches too short, he close his eyes and rested.

Finally they made it! Piney was relieved to see the cabins and signs of the campground as she came closer. Of course, everything didn't look quite as picture perfect as she expected. Maybe they're a busy camp and couldn't clean up everything in time? The suspicions she had about this camp came back and she started looking around for an inspection certificate of some sort.
"Hmm." She figured that it would be in the consular's cabin, which she wouldn't be able to get into right now. That's fine. She'll just pick out a cabin for herself and settle. This is where she's going to be for a week anyway.

Ridley glanced at Liam guiltily, knowing the healer would recognize he meant his job as a Rocket grunt. But he'd been doing other things, too. He owed them his service for a while yet, and part of him still wanted to see how far he could go... but he had his doubts. Whatever doubts he had he carefully kept to himself, lest he become victimized by the organization himself. Glancing around when he heard Liam come in after him, he suppressed an answering grin.
"Whichever. I'm not really picky about that, it's good for me either way," he straightened, holding the Pokeball he'd chosen.
"Yeah. Rentals. Wonder why? Maybe so we all have something to battle..." Ridley shrugged, releasing the Nidoran F from the confines of the Pokeball so he could have a look at her. The teal, poisonous little creature materialized on the floor of the cabin, took one look at him, and lunged at him, biting his pantleg.
"GSGSFSWHAOH!" Ridley backed up, too late. "Arceus, it's a little anklebiter!!"
