When I refer to "fanbase" I mean the idiot fans who mindlessly go along with everything, take characters too far, etc.

I don't mean the brilliant writers, artists, etc.

I agree with both of you. I do find alot of fan made stuff to be quite fun, however it is important to understand the diffrence between what is fanon and canon when you mention such stuff. However for the sake of argument, and because I am slightly bored, I am going to argue the counter point of Cirno being an idiot and Alice being Tsundere.

To begin, Cirno is called ➈ for a reason. I am not sure if I have to get into too much detail with Cirno.

Alice is a slightly harder sell. She definately isin't as bad as a number of fan portrayals, but you can kind of see why she is seen as Tsundere. I think it comes from the chemistry she has with Marisa as well as certain personality traits. The two have alot in common (Magicians, avid collectors, etc.) however due to their conflicting personalities, Marisa being quite the extrovert and Alice being something of an introvert, the two tend to have a "cat and dog" like relationship. However dispite their constant lovers quarrels, you do get the sense under everything the two are quite good friends. This relation ship between the two along with Alice's cold exterior while having a vulnerable core (She would rather lose a fight then give it her all, because if she lost while using her full strength that would be it for her) kind of give the sense of a tsundere girl. Take Imperishable Nights first stage for example

Marisa: It's so damn beautiful. It's like, what was it called... the paschal moon?

Alice: I envy your carefree manner.
If I could have enjoyed moon watching, and wasn't short of hands, I'd never have taken you with me tonight. (She envys her huh? *nudge nudge*)

Wriggle: Why not just relax and enjoy the moonlit night? Come on, you two...

Marisa: Totally enjoying it. I am, anyway.

Alice: Well, I'm enjoying myself, too!
At least more than you, Marisa! (Immaturely argueing for no good reason. The would the Tsun)

Wriggle: Didn't you just say something completely different?

Alice: Of course not. I'm not enjoying the moon-watching, I'm...
(and this would be the dere. Especially with a face like that.)

It takes alittle reading into, but come on, Alice as a tsundere is not so unfathomable.

Personally Meiling with pants, though I have no complaints if she is shown with no pants, however if maid meiling is an option...

I hate when the characters do that. The PC-98 games have a lot of "wall-breaking" instances, by the way.

Alice, in my opinion, is not a tsundere at all.

She goes back and forth between a very vague deredere side and an emotionless persona; the latter is too often confused with a tsuntsun side, most likely due to her ingame dialogues with Marisa on Imperishable Night.

Tsuntsun personalities are highly emotional, harsh and irritable; while Alice certainly seems to behave like a tsuntsun towards Marisa on IN, lots of other canon sources (her game profiles, mostly) depict her as showing little emotion and being mostly uncaring for common interest affairs. That lack of emotion is uncompatible with a tsuntsun personality, which, by definition, externalizes emotions very often.

Some canon sources depict Alice as having a rather different personality. Namely:
-Her appearance on Strange and Bright Natural Deity shows her as surprisingly gentle and even sweet towards the fairy protagonists.
-At the beginning of her interview with Aya in Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, she holds a small (argument?) with the tengu journalist regarding the fact that Aya ruined her straw effigie ritual, yet Alice doesn't treats Aya harshly; she even seems a bit shy or defensive about it.
- Her Immaterial and Missing Power profile says: "She pretends that she has a strong attitude, but truthfully she is kind of a coward in her heart."

Thus, if I were to give my opinion about Alice, I think that her everyday personality is that of an aloof pseudo-deredere loner, but when s**t hits the fan (incidents and such) her personality can become quite strong.

Oh, as for her relationship with Marisa, I think they're just a weird couple of good friends.

How about a half breed between Dandere and Kuudere? That sounds much more accurate to me.

P.S.: As some of you know, I'm in love with Alice. That means there's a very high chance that my opinions are biased to some degree. If so, I apologise.

The 4koma strip that immediately follows the one you posted (this one) is even more hilarious.

And then later on in that dialogue, Marisa does just that. xD

I despise all yukkuri drawings equally.

Me? I despise Yukkuris on a matter of principle.

Of course, they can be funny, but this is more of an unusual exception. A very unusual exception.

I do have one example of how yukkuris can be cute (that will be posted late since it's not on the computer I'm currently using), but in most cases they are definitely not.

Also, sometimes the fanbase itself just irks me in general. It feels like more and more weeaboos are seeping into Touhou, and I do not approve.
