Kenna sighed happily as she kissed Ian softly on the cheek, but another sudden wave of nausea caused her to jump up quickly from the bed and tear off down the hall. She only just made it into the bathroom when the sickness overcame her. She stood next to the toilet and felt the cold sweat break out on her face. Oh Lord, I hope I'm not getting sick. It might be from being out in the cold so much with Ian and the others. The thought of being outside with Ian made her body warm with happiness, she began thinking of the first time she had really spent time alone with him. Suddenly it hit her, she wasn't sick...she was....
"IAN!" she cried desperately from the bathroom. She made a quick calculation in her mind and grew more panicked every second. It seemed to her that her normal monthly visitor was over a week late.

Ian bolted out of bed, and tore towards the bathroom. He found Keena knelling over the toilet. "You okay, sweetheart?"

Kenna looked at Ian, hoping he would take the news well. She didn't want to just blurt it out, so she asked..."All of the raids and things we have done, has anyone ever gotten," she took a deep breath, "a pregnancy test?"

Ian looked at her weird, then his eyes opened wide as he understood. "Oh...um..I think there might be one or two with the medical supplies. Do you really think..."

She nodded, her voice failing her. She didn't want to tell Ian, but she was beginning to hope that she was. She opened the medical cabinet and found what she was looking for. A few minutes later, a pink plus sign appeared on the little white stick. She opened the door of the bathroom and smiled at Ian, her eyes welling with tears.

Ian looked down at the test. Positive. They were having a baby. "We've got to tell Kasey."

Kenna nodded and then suddenly flung her arms around Ian's neck. "I love you," she whispered again.

Kenna smiled brightly and placed one hand on her stomach and the other on Ian's face. "I kind of hope that it's a girl...I've always dreamt that if I had a baby it would be a girl." She smiled sheepishly, hoping she wasn't offending Ian.

Kenna nodded in agreement. "Neither did I. I guess that's a downfall to not having any sort of protection."

Ian smiled, and held her close. "Everyone is still asleep. Let's go back to bed."

Kenna nodded and kissed Ian on the cheek. "When everyone gets up, after we tell them the news, I want to go try to get into the hospital. I know it's risky, but I need to make sure our baby is taken care of. Will you come with me?"

Ian nodded. "Though I think getting into the hospital will be a lot easier than telling everyone that we're having a baby."

Kenna couldn't help but laugh as she laid back in bed with Ian. "You're probably right...you don't think we should go now before the others wake up do you?"
