That's awesome! You've found two of the best secrets of exercise: making it social, and making it fun.

Congratulations, Emu! That's wonderful. You must be so thrilled.
What else have you noticed, now that you're at your appropriate weight and size?

You know what? Your body craves nutrition. It's only your mind that craves various tastes.
But that doesn't mean it isn't significant. Try this next time you have a craving. Order (or make) a salad, or get a piece of fruit. Eat that and then wait 10 to 20 minutes. Then order a SMALL french fry order, and eat half of that. If you're on Weight Watchers, that'll be about 3 points, so a relatively tiny "sacrifice." See, what you crave is a taste, not necessarily a whole huge vat full of fries. Eating fruit or veggies first will satisfy your body's need for nutrition. That way, you'll want less of the special taste of the fries, and not a super-sized portion, because only your mind will still be in need of something.

Thank-you Divash and Sugar! I've really worked hard.
Day to day I started noticing a lot of small things. My jeans are baggy, especially in the butt. I stopped wearing baggy T-shirts too, the tight ones show me off better 4laugh Little things like that.
But I think the most important thing I've achieved by losing the weight is the confidence. I no longer think that when I walk into somewhere, people categorize me as "fat". This newfound confidence has also changed other parts of my appearance. I wear my hair down most of the time instead of just throwing it up because it was more comfy. [My hair is a lot less frizzy and whole lot more manageable. I'm starting to think that my diet has affected my hair eek ??]
In addition, my posture has very much improved. Being a fifteen-year-old girl at 5'10", you might imagine that I sometimes feel a bit out of place, especially among my friends where I might be up to an entire foot taller. Before I always felt huge, my height and weight, and I walked around hunched and bent over for about 2 years. Now I'm confident and I stand up straight, and walk like I'm the best thing since sliced bread, and it's really made a difference.
**Side note: Scale fixed yesterday. It was 5 pounds off, I'm 160. Still lost only 20 pounds but I'm lighter biggrin

That's so cool, Emu Feathers! It's great to see benefits from your weight loss, other than just numbers on a scale. Seeing changes in your body, your health, and your self-confidence are the best things to experience. Keep up the great work!

It's good you have confidence now. Keep at 'er. We know you can do it.
