Anna nodded, giving a small wave as MaryAnne left the room, bound for greater things and adventures at the Academy.

Anna went back to her desk to clean up a bit. The cup was wiped clean and set back on the shelf, along with the tea chest and other fixings. Now, the only thing she really had to do was see Pyralis... and that would be a bit of an adventure.

She wondered how he was doing. Had she angered him? Or, had she made him sad? Both thoughts were cruel in her mind, though she tried to shun them.
Oh, Pyralis. I just want to set things right and put you at ease. You asked for my trust. I only ask for yours.

Damien burst into the room, most likely scaring the crap out of the elf. Being the long time friend she was, he was able to tell what Anna was thinking anytime and anywhere.
He could tell that she was troubled, that was sure, but what she was troubled about, he had a hunch, but those were never his best ideals.
He mumbled something along the lines of "don't worry." and quickly left the room.
In the time he hasn't been with Anna, he had just stayed on the roof of the Oak Dorms. Time to see some scenery.

Yes, indeed, that did scare the living daylights out of the elf.

"Oh good gracious!" she muttered, not even being able to get a word in before Damien left once more. It seemed she had a bit of a guardian angel about her. How interesting that would prove: an angel and dragon both looking out for her best interests.

Her light feet carried her to the door, where she poked her head around the corner to see just where Damien might have gone off to so quickly.

Instead of seeing Damien, Anna would see Pyralis walking down the hall. He was distracted in his thoughts but suddenly stopped at seeing her. He had been going to his own office. The elf had said they needed to talk, but he wasn't sure what to say. At first his smile created the warm, charming expression he always used when seeing Anna, but then it faded to a sad half-smile with a heavy sigh. How pathetic that this woman had reduced this great man to this so easily. No one else would have been able to, that was for sure.

"Hello dear Anna." Was that really the best he could do? Sadly, yes, it was. Through scolding himself over this he hadn't found anything worth saying to her to make this better.

"Hello..." Anna's smile, too, had been reduced to a sad little half-grin. She came out from her doorway to perhaps coax him closer to her, in the hopes that they could sort out what happened at the pond.

"Do you think we could go over what happened earlier?" she asked, still smiling in that gently sad way. "I'm not mad at you, dearest, just... confused."
Anna hands were clasped and set against her middle, making her look very worried rather than upset.

With a nod, Pyralis stepped closer. Not realizing it, he placed a hand at the small of her back as he lead her into her office and shut the door. It would be better to talk in here rather than in hallway. Anyone could come along. The last thing they needed was the headmaster to question them. That would only make matters worse.

Suddenly realizing the contact with her, he dropped his hand casually as if it hadn't happened. Surely she didn't want him to touch her right now.

"About earlier," Another heavy sigh escaped. "I don't know how to explain."

"You frightened him, Pyralis," she said with a nervous laugh. "Damien is only a friend, not someone who would pose a threat."
Anna looked him in his eyes as she spoke, determined to make sure that nothing had changed. This was just a mere misunderstanding which could be solved.
There was something that she wanted to know, though. Her hand took his gently before she spoke.

"Are you so afraid of losing me?"

Damien walked into the office at that moment, bag of candy in hand, humming happily.
The black-winged angel then noticed Anna, Pyralis, and the tension in the air.
He blushed, slowly backing out of the room and muttered an apology. He slowly closed the door, leaving his friend and her 'boyfriend' alone to talk. He quietly walked off, smiling slightly, wishing Anna the best of luck.

Pyralis had been about to speak and then the angel had entered. He closed his eyes briefy and then opened them again. It wasn't the boy's fault, he had just wanted to see his friend.

Smiling sadly at Anna, he nodded. "I wish I could explain better, but yes." Leaving one hand in hers, his other reached up and stroked her soft cheek lovingly. There seemed to be actual pain in his red eyes. "My A'mael, I know it's been so quickly, but I couldn't stand to lose you." His hand dropped and clenched into a fist. "When I saw you with Damien, I knew he was no threat. It was..." He had to pause to think of the right word and still he knew he sounded a beast. "Instinct, it was instinct and feeling. Then to find out you were old friends. His opinion of me could influence what you think of me. I'm afraid I made a poor impression on the boy."

Damien always seemed to pop in at the oddest times.

As his hand touched her blushing cheek, Anna leaned into his touch. He was always so gentle, though his emotions were fierce.
"You don't need to worry, Pyralis. There's nothing to fear. No one will change this strange connection between us..."

Which it was indeed just that, strange. Unexplainable, really. Anna wondered at it for a moment before speaking again. "I love you. But you need to relax."

It was hard to be consoled so easily; but he had allowed her to melt away all his other defenses, so this was another. Anna was the light to his dark, just as the heroine was to the hero in those novels she read. It amazed him and he finally found his old smile. Yes, it was a strange connection between the two. "I love you too, so I will try." Strong arms drew Anna to him and Pyralis held her in a close embrace. "But do forgive me, it is sometimes so hard to relax around you. You drive me crazy Anna, my love." Familiar deep-throated laughter filled the room. "Oh the times that I imagine are ahead of us." Still smiling, he pulled back slightly to tip her chin up at him, gentle as ever. "Don't you think?"

As he laughed, so did she. It was alright, everything. Thank goodness it didn't turn into some kind of heated argument, or Anna would have felt terribly uncertain about letting herself fall into love so easily.

In his warm embrace, she found herself relaxing instead, still smiling. "I don't try to make you on-edge." She barely even tried to make him fall in love with her, to say the least. At the sound of a promising future, her mind thought it through, and indeed, she could see them being together forever and a day.
"Of course! We promised to show each other the places we've seen. I'm holding you to that, you know." It would be a great adventure, only better than any story she had read because it would be their own.

"I shall honor my word m'lady." He bowed grandly and the corner of his mouth quirked up into a smile through the serious face. It would all be alright. He counted himself as the luckiest man in the world to have found Anna. Dragon's loved like this only once in a lifetime; she was it for him and he knew that.

Though an odd moment for this, he did have to wonder for a moment if his mother would ever find this. The relationship of Arondis with his father had been more of an arrangement than anything...but that was past and another story. He did hope she'd find this some day. It was tiring, maddening, and the perfect feeling all at once.

"And I hold you to your word of showing me the places you've seen. I wouldn't miss it for anything."

"Well, I do have to introduce you to my family at some point." Anna hadn't exactly even written them a letter about him. If anyone would get news, it would be her grandmother, who was the most respected woman in her life. If anyone knew how to go about this, it would be her. "But for now, we work on things at the Grove."

A thought came to her suddenly, along with a bit of a mischievous grin. Anna stepped closer to him once more, and, taking his face in her hands, brought him closer.
"Trust me, Pyralis." In a moment reflective of their first kiss at the pond, Anna pressed her lips to his.

This unexpected gift took him a bit by supprise, but his lips responded immediately to hers. He let her be in control for a moment before he deepend the kiss, embracing her.

With great reluctance, he stopped and pulled away slowly after several minutes. Darn this place for being the school it was. "Look at you glow, A'mael. You have enchanted this beast simply by being." His words were true. The beautiful woman seemed to glow in the sunlight that trickled in through the window. Eyes the color of morning doves held his own and he felt the world stand still. They would make their own adventures and teach each other what they knew. As he had thought so many times before, Grove was one of the best moments of long life.
