Kanis flushed brightly. She had just got her left and right down and now there would be new directions she needed to learn. She sighed and shook her head. "Yes I can do it! Just give me the water bottle I can do it Armus ma'am!"
She jumped up and nods her smile big and bright. She tried to remember east was right....and right was east. She would do this right she wanted to make her first lesson...well second lesson right.
Rhea could feel Aras' skin was starting to get bumpy and she pulled her arm away. He was confused she didn't want him to chew the belt but not to lick her? He watched her move and seeing her hand moving to rub on the belts of her shirt his eyes glinted.
She needed to be freed too. He pounce her again and nuzzled against her stomach then his sharp teeth found her belts. They smelled so good and she already rubbed his smell on them too. It was like she was giving them to him. He started to chew on the belts around her wanting to get them off her as much as he was loving their taste.
Ruran listened though it looked like he was only half listening. He still didn't see what was so important. Of course he had not hunted yet or had to get his own food. He didn't understand it all yet.
"I am sure I will learn...but still then should we not use what we can? If we can only get smokey wood then shouldn't we at least use that?"

Armus smiled brightly at Kanis and reached into her bag, holding out a water bottle to Kanis.
"Excellent!" she said brightly. "We'll wait right here for you, and don't worry about getting lost - if you're not back in a reasonable amount of time, I'll come and get you. If you're not sure where to go or if you're going in the right direction, I'll come look for you, just stay where you are and don't move. All right?"
Aras squealed and fell backwards as Rhea pounced on her again, giggling even as she landed in the dirt.
"Rhea!" she laughed, trying and failing to get him off of her. "That tickles!"
She tried pushing his head away but she couldn't get her hands between him and her stomach, so instead she put her arms around his head and pressed him closer, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he would have some difficulty chewing then.
"You're going to break my belts," she tried to lecture him, but it tickled so much that she just couldn't stop laughing.
Corrah sighed. It was almost going to be more trouble than it was worth, training this boy. He had his own ideas, it seemed, and didn't care to listen to instruction.
"You use what you must, not what you can," he told him reproachfully. "Never more than you must. If there is no dry wood available then yes, I suppose you could use living wood, but such is almost never the case. If you can use dry wood, do."

Kanis nods, "Yes ma'am I will try not to let you down!" she smiled brightly and taking the water bottle headed off the way they had come the night before. She was going to bring them all back water! She could do it she knew she could!
Rhea gave a playful growl at his pack sister's laughing and worked his teeth harder against the belts. And as she tried to wriggle her hands between him and the belts this time he shifted his body move dominantly over hers not willing to let go of these rather tasty belts.
He blink in confusion though as she pulled his head to her body. He could no longer get her jaws to work against the belts so instead he just slowly flicked out his tongue over the belt and Aras' upper belly. Slow flick after flick. She would give into the licks sooner or later...he wanted her belts...
Ruran nods, he was satisfied that Corrah had finally answered his question and he nods, "Got it only use enough dry wood as we need and use wet only if we have too."
"Why is it bad to scare off the animals? Don't we want to scare off the dangerous ones?"

Aras squealed with laughter and held Rhea's head tighter.
"No more!" she shrieked, tears squeezing out from the corners of her eyes. "I can't - can't - breathe!" She gasped for breath between peals of laughter, her muscles tightening instinctively so that she was holding Rhea even more tightly against herself.
Corrah thought about that for a moment. The boy had a point, after all, and his question would require a careful answer.
"When you scare off animals," he said finally, looking at Ruran seriously, "you're scaring them off to another place. If you scare off the predators, then you are compressing more predators into a smaller place with the prey. Some - not all, but some - of the predators will go on a killing frenzy, and it is possible that the number of prey could become so small that in turn, your own hunts would become far more difficult, and even impossible for you to find food. However, there is another issue: smoke poisons the things around it, whether it is the air, plants, animals - or you. Burning wood that does not smoke reduces the probability of your own body becoming damaged from it."

As Rhea's head was gripped tighter his tongue stopped working against her and just lay on her stomach. He grunted softly and tried to wriggle free from her arms. No fair holding him still. He knew not to use his claws so he just shook his head trying to get away.
Ruran listens quietly and nods, "Oh I see.." he continued to work the dry wood. He hated trying to think bout the damages to others but he could relate to those that would effect him. He sighed.
He nods, "So what are we going to do for breakfast?"

Aras relaxed a bit, feeling that he wasn't tickling her anymore, and flopped out on the grass, arms and legs spread and panting as if she had just run a race.
"You're funny, Rhea," she giggled at him, looking down her nose at him so that she wouldn't have to lift her head.
Corrah watched Ruran in silence for a few moments, and when the boy asked about breakfast, a slow grin crept across his face.
"How is your knowledge of plants?" he asked softly, his eyes glinting mischievously, though his tone was clearly serious.

Rhea sat back as she finally let him go. He just sat there watching her a bit before slowly moving forward to lay his head on her stomach and his right arm shutting his eyes. It was time for a nap unless she wanted to play again or their pack mother say other wise.
Ruran raised a brow confused, "I didn't care to learn what my mother had to teach us about plants...That is girl stuff....or something for my little brother!"

Aras's giggles died down finally, and she sighed and put one hand on Rhea's head, grinning at him.
"Are you going to sleep on me?" she asked, on the verge of bursting into laughter once more. "We just woke up, we have to eat!"
She scratched the base of one of his green ears as if she were scratching a puppy's ear. She didn't know why, it just felt nice to her, and she wanted to show him she liked him.
Corrah's eyes grew as serious as his tone.
"Do I look like a girl to you?" he asked evenly. "Do I act like a girl? Use your head, boy. This isn't about what's masculine or feminine or what's for men or women. This is about surviving where you have nothing but your own brain to rely on. When your mother teaches you about plants, listen to her! Even if the plant isn't what you're going to be eating, it sure as hell makes meat taste better!"

Rhea nuzzled into Aras's hand tilting his head so he could give her wrist a warm soft lick before he nuzzled more into her his eyes still shut but now in bliss rather than tiredness.
Ruran glared, "I don't care what they hell my mother can teach me. She has ruined my father and I will not listen to anything that comes form her whorish mouth!" He stood up and threw the blade into the ground nailing a twig to the grass.
"Your not a girl and I will learn plants from you but I will never listen to that filthy slut that tainted my father and our blood!"

Aras giggled and she wanted to sit up, but now she was stuck.
"Um ... Rhea," she murmured, "we should help with breakfast ..."
She waited a moment for him to respond, then tried again: "Rhea ... come on, we have to get up ... you slept already ..."
Corrah's icy blue eyes flashed with a momentary anger, and he rose to his feet and pulled his cowl up once more, hiding his face from view.
"Then you and I have nothing more to discuss," he said simply; and with that, he began to walk towards the trees at a rate just slow enough that Ruran could catch up with him if he ran.
The boy needed to learn to control his mouth, and perhaps threatening to stop his training would help with that.

Rhea shook his head and moved over to straddle his pack sister. He had not slept much that night he had been trying to find his family. He whimpered softly and looked down at her his eyes half hooded as her fingers still worked his ear. He didn't care if he pack mother watched. She didn't seem to care or she would be calling to them to stop.
Ruran growled. Why was this man defending his mother...had that whore seduced Celebor too is that why he agreed to train him. Maybe he should stick around and get to the bottom of this...maybe he could get rid of his mother too.
He sighed and ran after Corrah.

Aras stopped scratching behind Rhea's ear and looked up at his sad eyes - at least, that was how he looked to her.
"But we have to eat," she murmured, still oblivious to the way he was sitting on her. "And we have to train ..."
Armus had been sitting a short distance away and watching the two of them silently until now, but now she spoke up and said, "I really don't think it's a big deal if we don't do any hard core training today. I think this was just to get you used to the idea of not always being with your parents."
She had no objection to the way the two children were interacting. After all, Rhea was - as far as she knew - just getting to know his new family ... though he looked rather sleepy to her.
Corrah heard Ruran falling in behind him and he turned and folded his arms across his chest, his icy blue eyes gleaming wickedly from inside the shadows of his cowl.
"You want to learn," he snarled, "then you learn. The source is not important. No matter what you think of the source of your knowledge, that is not what matters. What matters is the lesson that you learn. I don't give a rat's a** what opinion you have of your mother but she has valuable knowledge that will do you good if you would just listen to her. Be smart. Learn where you can."
His eyes narrowed until they were nearly invisible once more.
"Is that clear?"

Rhea nuzzled his face against Aras' and hearing his mother's words he turned to look at her his tail wagging and he bounded over to Armus sitting infront of her his tail wagging happily. He shifted to scratch his ear with his foot.
Then he smiled up at her eagerly waiting for her to play or feed them again or at least pet him or clean him. He was indeed rather dirty his hair and fur was matted with mud and dirt.
Ruran glared and looked away from the icey blue eyes. He folded his arms, "I want only to listen to my trainer...not some stupid females. I will learn but not from her...I hate her..."

Armus smiled and picked Rhea up, ruffling his hair as Aras climbed to her feet.
"Armus," Aras asked, dusting off her backside and adjusting her belts again, "what are we going to have for breakfast? You sent Kanis off to get some water ..."
Armus laughed. "I did, didn't I? Well, I have food in my bag, but I think it would be polite if we would wait for your - or should I say, our - sister to come back before we eat, hm?"
Aras's eyes brightened, hearing Armus call herself their sister again. It felt good, and it made her feel special.
"Is Rhea our brother too, then?" she asked eagerly.
Armus grinned and ruffled the wolf boy's green hair affectionately. "What do you think, Rhea?" she asked him brightly. "You going to be a real member of the family?"
Corrah remained motionless, his every pore oozing tension. "Then consider her a part-time trainer," he said coldly. "If she'll still bother trying to teach you anything. I wouldn't blame her if she didn't."
He nudged Ruran with his foot, knocking the boy over. "If you don't stop being such an a** and start listening to what I say, you'll never amount to anything."

Rhea yipped happily as he was picked up and he nuzzled Armus' hand. Oh he was hungry and he knew they were talking about food at least.
His tail beat happily and he heard their happy tones. He let out a happy howl agree with them though he did not know fully what he was agreeing. "Arrass! Rhea!....Mother!" he say in a horse little low voice.
Kanis sighed as she hauled the water bottle up. It was so heavy now and she could just see where their camp was. She almost made it back.
Ruran fell back his eyes flashing white in anger. "How dare you...your my only trainer you and my father!" he didn't know what was wrong with Corrah why he had to care about a girl.
