The lovely face twisted and winced as he moved from one place to the other. Dancer went to the lean too and made a thick pile of sand for him to place his leg on as he lowered. Holding her breath as he did till he was on the ground again. "I'm going to get you some food and water. Is there anything else you will need till you feel well enough to move around?"

Savith had planned to get all the way to the Waterfall Pool, splash some water on himself, then go hide in his 'nest', but by the time they'd reached near Dancer's lean to, he was more tired than he wanted to admit. When she started toward it, it followed limply, and struggled to lower himself smoothly and slowly to the sand. He didn't answer her questions save for a faint shake of his head after he'd settled down and let the world take a hold of him again.

With that she called Fire Bright and got on him. Her frown showed as she spoke to Savith. "I will go as swiftly as I can and be back shortly. If Corosscurrent needs anything please let me know." Again a glance to the water. She was very tempted to go look for him but didn't. What good would that do. He would just yell a her and tell her to go away after all. With a sigh she looked over Savith one last time and darted away. *I will be back soon Savith. Try to rest till I get back if you can.* Quietly she sent to Crosscurrent alone. *I will be back later with food from the land if you are hungry. Again, I'm sorry you were hurt.* And it was gone. Her send still hurting inside from guilt and a longing to know that he would be ok that he was at the moment denying her.

Savith nodded faintly as Dancer sped away on her feline, and was unconscious by the time she was halfway through her send, so all she got was that reflexive, hazy, wordless, ping of 'there's a mind, body's alive, please leave a message at the tone.'

Crosscurrent would have sighed at Dancer's distressed Sending, but didn't want to expand his ribs... connected to back muscles. Instead he kept up his lulluby Sending for any friendly water-born mind or tribemate as he worked to eat his clams. He would sleep with his spirit still Sending the gentle call of friendship.

The next morning came before Dancer was able to return. She had food and fresh water as she said. Setting them down she looked over the water to see if she could see Crosscurrent anywhere. Of course she couldn't so her mind reached for his alone. *How do you feel this morning Crosscurrent?* Her tone was much caalmer but still worried. At least she wasn't frantic anymore. *I brought some things to eat if you are hungry.*

**I'm feeling too lazy to come get it** he Sent, only half awake from where he'd been napping. Finally having found a comfortable position to rest he was reluctant to leave it for any reason. Not so far below the waves that the Daystar wasn't warming the water either.

*I will bring it to you if you like. Well some of it anyway. I don't know if the water will change the taste though.* She started walking into the water in the direction of the send and found he wasn't hard to find. She dunked her head and smiled at him warmly. *I am glad to see you again. I wasn't sure how badly you were hurt and.....* There was no need to say more. He must know she thought the worst.

Green eyes slit open to look at her lazily. **You worry a great deal, don't you?** he asked with some curiousity. It wasn't just about her stressed about him being injured, she seemed to do it natural.

Fair hair swayed more pronounced with the ocean pushing it's waters toward land. He'd let it out of the ponytail so that it danced to help hide his red tail as kelp would a coral. The tugging as relaxing as a lover's hand. Not to mention it would not make the bruised slotches that now colored the hurt muscles less noticable if she glimpsed them. The disgarded shells, those mostly intact, were in the net-bag sitting above his head. His weapon resting an easy reach to the side of him.

Her smile widened a little bit more and she would have laughed a little had she not been under the water. A hand lightly touched his cheek. *We cannot lose any more lives can we? Especialy what seems to be the only water elf thus far.* The send held tenderness and was much like a warm embrace to someone who was a bit more then a friend and a sadness at the lonelyness he must truely feel. *Are you hungry?* She then reeled in the easily escaped emotions as she stood for a breath.

The laziness left his eyes when she pointed out that he was the only water elf here. Emotion flashing across before disappearing as he opened them further to view Dancer: seeing if she had brought anything with her.

**Yes** he Sent in answer to the question.

She noted the feeling that came to his eyes at her words and frowned a little as she pulled a red berry from the floating basket and handed it to him. *I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that.* Then getting a few edibal flowers she handed them over as well. *I'm also sorry you got hurt. You do know I didn't want any of this to happen. I just wanted to go as fast as I was able.* Her mind recalling how much fun it was untill the end. *But I want to look at your wounds. See if there is anything I can go to help in any way.*

**I'll live** he Sent dismissivly. His attention on the berry and flowers that he had to reach for. Attempting not to move much from his position as any lazily comfortable elf would.

**Unless you have the Healing gift there's little to be done anyway. Food is welcome though.** The berry popped into his mouth where he savored the salty tint now covering it. His attention turning to the flowers in some small puzzlement. **And as one speed-seeker to another: always check the path before doing it. Now, what is this?**

It would be no use thinking she would not continue her risky games. He had done many himself. Besides, as long as the youths knew some precautions he felt no need to pen them in like a worried mother. Life was filled with adventures. Let them eat that sweetness as any could
.

She chuckled softly watching gobble up the berry then said *Oh those are flowers that can be eaten from the forest. I also brought some honey but you would have to come to a shallower part of water. It's a thick liquid that is very sweet. I'm sure you would enjoy it and I'm no healer but I like to help.* She swam to his tail end and looked him over. Not an unpleasant task but this was to see what didn't look right. *True I don't know how your body works from your waist down but I do know that stimulation always seems to help with swelling and circulation so you will be still and I will do what I can. If not I will bonk you in the head till you pass out.* She laughed knowing that would never happen but it was fun to tease.

The Wavedancer kept his body loose (tension would hurt), but stilled as any hunter unwilling to let another touch him. Jade gaze narrowed as he looked slightly over his shoulder where Dancer floated. The vocal growl a subtle vibration. Long hair swaying to conceal the annoyed predator beneath.

He was not as amused as she seemed to be.

**Do. Not. Touch me** was the 'whispered' mental warning. Crosscurrent -really- didn't want to move, nor tense up, but he was in no mood for a fumbling youth to disturb what little healing he'd gotten. The flowers he almost inhaled freed his hand again: he didn't actually taste it just then as he watched her warily.
