Maybe solving some more riddles or puzzles like Rubix Cube had once shown her. That boy from the paper did love puzzles so his brainy self would definitely know some tricks to increase brain capacity, but that was beyond the point at the moment. The major thinking was of the chakra coil system. Kanami’s system was also different when compared to the two boys. In general, based on her observations, teachings and Hyuuga texts, the race of clairvoyant, ivory eyes had systems which chakra was not as large as an amount as others, but was made in a way to subsequently use and control it much more effectively than most. For one thing many of their energy veins branched off at around the pores of the skin and not just inside the muscles. It was something that Kanami could not see, but had to study when she was the equivalent to genin. The branches being so close to the pores allowed for chakra to flow through the small holes much easier than other races. This is why the Juuken style could be used in combat to attack the chakra system. Their eyes not only allowed them to see it, but there blood and muscles were made to push a minimal amount of chakra through the pores, but effective enough to cause harm to an opponent. It usually took jounin level to be able to use just the pores on the hand and feet with chakra for more than just walking across water or up walls. Yet with a Hyuuga such deeds could be accomplished at younger levels. Even scarier was what some of the jounin of the trunk and branch families could do at their advanced levels. It was something the diva hoped to achieve one day. Well there was a whole lot of stuff she wanted to do. Mostly things outside of the shinobi lifestyle, but that was one of her main priorities!

The vixen’s investigation continued hopefully unknown to the two males. As she continued to peer over the Yamanaka’s body to find anything ‘unique’ in their system she began to see something. “Hmm… what’s this…?” Kanami thought as she scanned. Apparently there were more vessels of chakra clustered by the cranium and brain. Many lines were branched off perhaps around the brain. Yet the diva’s blood inheritance was beginning to wane on her. It looked like branches that disappeared under leaves so you could not figure out exactly where they went. It was only then that the Hyuuga princess remembered that the Yamanaka clan had skills that did with the mind. “Maybe that’s why so many are focused up there.” her mind thought. It would make sense. Although then what type of tactics did they use for so many to be around the brain? That would be interesting to view as the all seeing nymph had not seen a clan where the cords of life energy were so greatly entangled around the brain. One day she’d have to inspect more to see which part of the brains and such were the chords going to. Another thing to wonder too is if this is something Kane’s little sister would also have as because she was an adopted child. Some clans were born with a blood inheritance while others merely formed certain techniques and customs that were passed down for generations. Technically one could grow used to those customs over time. Something that cannot be done with family kekkei genkai. It would be something to compare and contrast between the siblings at another time.

[Kouri and McClane try and wrap it up in your next post and exit to the next day.]

So many different systems for each clan and even within those clans’ people were so different. Perhaps that was the thing that Kanami loved so much about the Byakugan. What you saw was equivalent to looking up into the starry night. A world of millions of stars forming constellations that became the human body of others. None ever the same; some were lined up evenly others looked like stardust and star bursts. Others like supernovas. When a body lost all its chakra it was similar to watching a black hole. As people grew older slight changes went into their system. Depending on their life experience their chakra system may have had dramatic changes. When they were sad or angry it changed. Emotions, expressions, experience and many more things turned those trillions of particle lights into something beautiful and amazing. That to the princess of Hyuuga was the most amazing thing about these eyes. Something to her that went much deeper than just using it in battle. To view the world in such a way gave her confidence and pride. It was amazing, exhilarating, and awe inspiring. Sadly all good things must come to an end and so would this moment.

“You’re taking way too long…” the special supervisor over Kanami stated. This only made Kanami release her Byakugan and glare at the girl with a surly turn of her lip. Apparently during the few seconds of when Kanami noticed the woman and now she had moved at a speed comparable to a puma. Getting to the vixen's location without her even realizing. This usually meant the diva was in trouble. “I was coming. Jeez. Not like I ran off the island.” Kanami replied. The Hyuuga senior would not hear of it though. “Considering the company that you have with you I can never be too sure. I probably came just in time.” the woman stated turning towards the two males with her. Himoto’s eyes took in the two frames. A blonde boy and hazel eye one. Typical of the little princess. Himoto slightly sneered at the two before turning away and grasping the shoulder of the girl. “Luckily I moved our things earlier. We have a new place in the housing district for now, but will need to relocate again after a few days. Maybe… It will be sunrise soon, so go get some sleep.” the jounin said before turning back to the boys. “I suggest the same to both of you.”

“Sorry guys. Looks like the fun is over for tonight. We’ll play again next time. I’ll bring your coat back tomorrow morning Kane-kun!” the nymph said with a small smile before Himoto made a hand seal and the two women exploded in a cloud of smoke. The wind picked up slightly and the air blew away revealing nothing but the night.

He was getting tired and a very small part of his mind wanted to ditch the two and return home, but of course Kane was a gentleman and his gentlemanly upbringing prevented him from acting upon that impolite urge. Not to mention that since that thing in the chuunin exams being around Sukotto was slightly awkward. Even though Kane still looked up to Sukotto, the thing inside his mind had been too terrifying for words. Getting his mind shaken up outside of his body wasn't an experience he was keen to repeat any time soon.

"Taijutsu hmmm..." he echoed her like he always tended to do. "I don't doubt that. They must have trained you in the Hyuuga style well," he said earnestly to Kanami, suddenly getting an image of her moving around in the Juuken style in his mind. He watched her activate the Byakugan with interest. He'd heard that this gave them the ability to see through things and for a moment Kane worried for himself. Then he figured that Hyuuga were probably used to that since they could do that since a young age. Maybe. Well he didn't know if the rumour was true anyway. Better not to dwell on it. He continued to walk with her and Sukotto until he reached her abode and had the honour of meeting Himoto. Not. Kane didn't relish being looked at like he was a sexual deviant and was glad to leave. "You too Kanami. Good night-," he said with a smile before he was interrupted by their disappearance. Oh well. "See you around Sukotto-san," he said to Sukotto, before heading home.

"Woah!" Orika gasped when she saw how the three storied apartment complex had been reduced to one floor with half a roof. The rubble lay in charcoaled piles and the smell of burning still permeated the air. A few places still bore an orange glow, its component materials refusing to burn as easily as the natural resources used to construct the apartment. "Well, at least it didn't spread," Orika said with a chuckle and a smile towards Akemi. She stood on what remained of a bed and immediately cried out as the structure gave way underneath, sending her sliding down a miniature hill of sharp and pointy objects! "Gotta be careful!" she shouted, picking herself up with a small groan. She'd scraped her elbows and her shoulder had a scratch, but it was nothing, really. "If you don't want to look down here with me," Orika said, "feel free to do whatever." Rather than being scared by the prospect of an entire building burning down or plagued by the thought of who could do such a thing, Orika's mind lay on treasure hunting. She looked up and noticed a few villagers with shocked expressions on their faces, and shrugged. They always looked like deer in torchlight for some reason, as if they weren't used to the numerous random disasters Shimagakure went through every season. It was just a fire. There was no horrid smell so nobody got burnt alive and she didn't see anyone at the clinic so nobody sustained broken bones or anything like that. It was just material belongings being lost, that's all. And how important was money and valuables to a community of shinobi, particularly genin with nothing but the clothing on their backs anyway?

Orika wobbled as she stood up, black dots dancing in front of her eyes. Maybe it was a bad idea to coax Akemi down here. Well, she wasn't the girl's mommy, but the least she could do is protect her in case anything too terrible happens. The girl was definitely a ninja (she knew all the children who weren't), but she wasn't a genin yet, judging by her lack of a headband. Speaking of which... The light gleamed off of something in the near distance. Orika scrambled over a smashed table, her feet hitting the ground hard as she not so carefully ran towards the shiny. The girl picked up the object and examined it closely. A headband... probably a spare since all the genin wore theirs. The girl turned the green cloth over to look at the now bent plating with the infinity symbol on it. There was something very powerful about holding the village's symbol in her hands. Orika closed her eyes as the image of Karite came to her mind. The green of the headband became his dark hair. More than anything, he was devoted to becoming a shinobi. Could she not put all her fears aside for his sake? Or, did she really not love him enough? A pang erupted in her heart and Orika poked her chest to make sure nothing was wrong. Nope, nada. Alright, so how painful could it be to learn one more jutsu? That's all she would need to graduate, after all. It could be done in a day and that horrible feeling of chakra spreading through her fingers... she could withstand for him. The boy she loved, always and truly.

Orika giggled and made her way back up to where Akemi was. "Found something!" she yelled, holding up the ruined, bent headband, "I'm not sure if anyone wants this thing anymore, but I think we should put it in the pile just in case." The girl found a patch of grass that was faded in color and dropped the headband there, starting the pile that would eventually grow and grow and grow! until everything that hadn't been burnt to a crisp was in there. "This is exciting!" Orika laughed and plunged right back to search. She circled around to the side of the building with the highest wall. The blackened structure was still moist with the water used to put out the fire. The fact that the tips of this structure had water on it must have meant some fancy ninjutsu was used, speeding up the process so no more houses were destroyed. Orika couldn't imagine what would happen if her own house got burned like this. She passed her hand around the wall and ducked underneath crumbled rafters to step inside the building. Wait, what if the structure collapsed while she was inside. The girl stepped right out. Eh, better to look in a place where the roof had already collapsed. She circled around again and spotted a large pile of debris, of which she immediately started digging through, her hands working like the paws of a mole, digging for her reward. "OW!" Orika yelped, pulling her hand out of the dirt pile to reveal a cut on her palm from a knife she'd accidentally grabbed.

Tears well up in her eyes, but were quickly wiped away. That really hurt! Orika examined the cut on her arm; It was nothing too life damaging, but with her other slips and falls, this one added much more than the desired amount of pain. The cut was shallow, but ran about 4 inches up her arm. As Orika turned the arm to get a closer look, a drop of blood fell from the wound, then another, and another. The sight of blood and the stinging were not as prevalent in Orika's mind as the fear of infection was. So far, she'd scrapped up her knees, back, and now cut her arm. The others hadn't broken skin and it was way dangerous to continue searching with an open wound. Unless... Orika dug around in her pack for a set of bandages and got to work wrapping up the wound. She wound the off-white cloth until it felt tight, so the cut would stop bleeding and so that no nasty germs could get in! Great! Getting back to work, the girl took a deep breath and tackled the pile again, this time using a stick to shift through. Aha... what was that? She knelt and picked up a nameless leather-bound notebook. Upon opening it, she immediately flushed and slammed the book shut. Oh, my. It was somebody's diary and she caught a glimpse of the word- Orika looked around to make sure nobody was watching her think- 'sex.' She didn't want to intervene in anyone's fantasies. The girl tapped some dirt out of the journal and deposited the item next to the headband.

Next! She jogged down to the structure again, wondering what cool item she would find next. She searched through the debris laying around, but everything there looked broken and Orika was sure her time would be better spent looking for whole objects. That left the building itself to be searched. A deep exhale later, the farm girl bravely trotted into the front door (or what remained of it!) and looked at the damage. She whistled at the fallen beams and cluster of broken items that had fallen from higher stories. It was a mess that would have made any housewife scream, not to mention the disgusting amount of ash and smoking objects. Orika rested her hand on a beam and immediately pulled back. The beam was made of steel apparently and still retained some of last night's heat. As she licked the minor burn, Orika thought of the burn gel and how it would help better heal the blister that would surely form. Ah, she'd be fine without it. That was for emergencies only! The girl nodded to herself and took another step into the smoldering building. A wooden object caught her eye and as Orika stared at it full on, she knew why. It was undamaged, for the most part, with just one corner slightly tipped. Why? Orika started to make her way towards the object, which was buried in a huge heap of ash. Her foot hit the edge of the ashes and then stepped into the pile. Instead of landing on solid wood, however, it kept plunging until Orika found herself falling. She tried to steady herself, but ended up falling backwards and hitting her head on the floorboards. The girl mumbled some curse and waited until the dizziness faded. She was exhausted, the combined total of her wounds enough to kill an academy student, but with her toughness, she was still going strong...ish.

Once she could see again, Orika slowly sat up and breathed a sigh of relief. That could have been much worse. A second later, she was on her feet and ready to go. Her eyes scanned the area for a better way to get through to the object. Ah, she knew! Orika searched for a plank of solid wood and slammed it on the ground, shattering the pieces, but creating a gust of wind that blew the ashes into the air. Some of the dust got into her mouth and nose and Orika sneezed for about a minute straight. A laugh came out of her mouth. She loved sneezing so much. It felt really good at the end and she always got a few Bless You's. Still chuckling to herself, the girl simply walked up to the trunk, noting the crater the fire had caused in the floor. She just walked around the rim, arms outstretched so she wouldn't fall again. Orika opened what appeared to be a trunk to find shinobi clothing inside. There wasn't a lot, but the people on the island weren't really into owning a lot of clothing. It seemed like a waste and she agreed wholeheartedly. Orika heaved the trunk onto her shoulders, using her legs for more lifting power, and scanned the area for any immediately dangers. Good, the structure wasn't going to collapse on her, but she still needed to find a way out. There was just so much debris everywhere! Orika gingerly made her way to a wall and snaked about the outside, crossing some planks (that she tested first!), going under some beams, weaving through like a child playing shinobi.

Once she was out, Orika breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't see anything other that was too valuable looking, but she could be wrong. Depositing the trunk next to the other objects, Orika clamored up the hill and took one panoramic look at the damage. She wondered who started the mess. If she'd have to guess, it was probably some stupid genin who left their stove or gas on. Ugh, dummies! A giggle escaped her lips and she plopped down on the grass, laying spread eagle and really, really comfortable! A movement to her left alerted the girl and she perked up, noticing Sukotto walking her way. "Hey, Sukotto-sempai!" Orika boomed, waving her bandaged arm. Her knees were scabbed, her shirt ripped in the back, and the girl was covered from head to toe in ash. "How are you? Did you ever find out about Nawanuke?" she asked, referring to the time when he volunteered to find a book for her about that technique.

User ImageWith several hammers on his shoulder and a box of tools in hand, a big figured approached the burnt down scene. Hamma was feeling rather sluggish this morning since he had been up all night figuring out the plans for the reconstruction of the housing district. Not only would they be rebuilding the burnt down apartments, but also re-doing the student dorms. Yuki and he had spoken about the possibility of making a duplex between the dorms and shinobi quarters. It was a grand idea, but it would take a lot of work. Hamma would have to send out a messenger to gather everyone to lend a hand. Someone quick and agile like... "Orika!" Hamma said in a slightly stern voice, but also with a bit of spunk in it to see just the person that would do the task he had in mind. It was hard to tell it was the girl, but those bare feet gave her away. "Playing around in an unsafe place, I see," the man said with a bit of a chuckle. "I see you've already started helping by finding some of the shinobi's things," Hamma said as he raise a large bushy eyebrow. He was implying that the girl wasn't stealing anyone's belongings, like he had once stolen from him. Since the girl was already working on the apartments and dirty from head to toe, maybe she wasn't his choice to go out and round everyone up. Then, there was Sukotto standing nearby that she was speaking too.

"Well, my boy, since you're here, would you mind goin' round and gathering everyone up? We'll need quite a few hands here today," Hamma asked Sukotto as he scratched his beard. "I think we should get to tearing down the building before you head in there again," Hamma told Orika as he set down the tools and let the hammers hit the ground, kicking up ash. "Lets see that teen youth break down these boards," Hamma said, offering a hammer's end to Orika. Most of the children in this island loved to destroy. He remember little Kana and Aya taking hammers to the clinic the first time it was burnt down.

"Ah, Hamma!" Orika squealed, running up to her weapons sensei and standing in front of him with her arms behind her back. A cheery smile on the girl's face knocked some ash from her face, making her at least a bit more recognizable. "Haha, I'm not just playing. I'm training! I'll be the strongest shinobi out there real soon and then the world'll be a better place," Orika said, revealing her dream and deviating from her previous stance that all shinobi were violent, bloodthirsty, uncaring, superficial, battle-obsessed, etc scum. Nah. If that was the way things were, then she would have to change it herself. The girl gave a private smile as she reflected on why she made the decision she did after years of deliberation. "Have you seen Karite-kun?" she asked suddenly, looking up at Hamma with eyes that clearly revealed her puppy love of the boy. Anyone watching could tell that her feelings for her boyfriend weren't deep and forever, as the shine in her eyes brightened when Hamma offered her the end of a hammer.

The very fact that he was giving her one of the largest hammers he bought showed how much confidence he had in her. "Alrighty! This'll be fun. The other kids better show up fast or there won't be any walls left to knock down!" Orika boasted, grabbing the hammer with both hands. "Wah!" she cried as her whole body tipped forwards and the hammer slammed into the ground with a heavy thud that revealed only a fraction of how freaking much that monster weighed. "Uh, I can do it. Don't worry!" she said with a smile, bending down to hoist the hammer onto her shoulder. She kept the heavy end as close to her body as possible, for the most leverage. Orika grinned sheepishly and clumsily walked towards the nearest wall. She gripped the hammer tightly and swung at the wall as hard as she could. The sledge merely bounced off like a rubber ball, bounding back to hit her on the thigh. "Damn it! Orika yelped, doubling over as pain shot through her leg and yet again, the hammer hit the ground with a mocking thud.

Shaking out her leg helped a bunch and within seconds, Orika was perky and ready to work again. Her club smacked against her backside and Orika remembered what Hamma had told her about handling heavy weapons. "There's a fine balance between control and strength. The longer your arms are apart, the more control you have, but you sacrifice strength in the process," the farm girl recited. Now, what did she do wrong? Well, for one, she was holding the sledgehammer at the base; That was how she always held her club. Then again, she had never worked with two handed weaponry before. So, she should spread her arms for more control and then she'd hit the wall at a better angle to do the most damage. The hammer in her hands again, Orika slid her hands along the wooden handle, finding the length apart that felt comfortable. She raised the hammer behind her back (but not too far!) and swung with all her might. The hammer not only crashed through the wall, but in the returning arc, smacked down another section of the building. "Yeah!" Orika cheered, raising the hammer in the air. That felt sooo good! The sound and feel of the bricks and mortar crumbling sent waves of adrenaline through her body, making the naturally excited girl even more ecstatic.

Since she was having a good amount of success, Orika decided to tackle the tallest wall. It would be better to knock that down now while there weren't that many people around to get hurt. Orika stood with her legs squared and in a slight squat, holding the hammer like a baseball player. Now, what else did Hamma teach her about handling these kinds of weapons? Ah! "Give your swing more power by using both the swing speed and the weight of the hammer. That'll give you the best momentum that'll then do the most damage," Orika said proudly. She stood with her feet parallel to her shoulders and relaxed. Tension in her body would only act against how fast she could swing the hammer. The girl hoisted the hammer up to her shoulders, but not so far back that it would hang and tip backwards. That wouldn't do any damage to the opponent! She swung in a downward curving arc and crashed through the wall. Orika scrambled backwards to avoid the debris that rained down on her. A sizable brick conglomerate landed just a foot to her left. As the dust cleared, the apartment was left with just one story, rather than the one and a half that it had been before hand. Since she had knocked out the final support for the 2nd story floor, it fell to the earth in a great motion, like a waterfall of rock and debris. Orika whooped and set to destroy some of the smaller pieces on the ground, feeling a thrill with every contact. Smash, smash, smash! It was so rare that they got a chance to destroy with all their might. In the back of her mind, Orika wondered if that was why some people became so belligerent and violent, because they didn't have a way to channel that inner warrior that sought to destroy. It was a natural thing.

"Can't be the strongest shinobi alone, my girl. That fact's been proven,"
Hamma said with a nod, before he shook his head. "Nope. Haven't seen the boy since graduation day," Hamma told Orika as he watched her go to work. He heard the low steam blow of the fisherman's boat leaving the docks. It was a good sign, since that meant Yuki would be getting here shortly with some more helping hands. He would've thought more shinobi would be here on the double to get the building back on its feet, since this is where most of them lived! "Good," Hamma said, taking up a hammer himself to demolish the demolished building even more. "Don't use your back too much with your swings. You'll end up like ol' Hamma here with a sore back everyday," the man said with a hearty chuckle as he too took the big hammer and began knocking down walls.

[Make sure you write in your total's with every roll. Makes it easier for the crew to grade.]
Orika: +3 to next roll.
