Shin was walking back to the forest with rope in his hand. He had found some at the weapon shop and borrowed it without asking since it seemed everyone was doing something in the village. The rope was tan and worn, so he hoped that Hanabira didn't need new secure rope to help him train. While walking up, he saw Hanabira standing where he had left her, but there was another person crouched within the stalks of the forest spying on the freckled face girl. "Tanu..." Shin sighed, wondering what she was doing now. The first thought that jumped into his mind was that she was purposely sneaking up on the unsuspecting Hanabira to jump out and scare her. Then Shin could see Tanu mocking Hanabira for being weak and making her cry. Deciding to sneak up behind her himself, Shin tip toed across the ground to where she stood. He was careful to be quiet and try not to step on any branches as he did so. "What are you doing?" he whispered once he was rather close to the girl. Unlike his approach to Hanabira, he wanted to slightly give the Kun Kumo a jump. Tanu never scared easily it seemed, so he could only hope to catch her off guard.

Hearing someone behind her, Tanu whipped her head around quickly, her green hair slapping her against the cheek as she did. Her feet still stayed in position making sure not to move to give away her position. The red-green eyes were slightly glaring as Tanu realized that someone had gotten awfully close to her without her noticing. But when she turned around to see it was Shin, she relaxed just a little, but then started panicking to herself once again. He had gotten pretty close to her, which meant that he had grown stronger as well! Tanu was truly falling behind with training alone. Sucking down her pride and forcing herself not to get to wryly, Tanu rolled her eyes away from Shin giving him that Kun Kumo female attitude. "Isn't it obvious?" Tanu asked him as she stared forward at the girl in front of her once again. She was quiet for a moment not sure what move to make next before whispering to Shin again. "Who is that?" Tanu asked him without the attitude and out of pure wonderment. The green haired girl felt nervous asking since she had never asked for anyone's name. She always stated hers boldly first knowing that she was more important than the person she was talking to. This felt like a huge step in changing her dream by actually asking someone else about a name. Granted, it wasn't the person them self, but at least Tanu would know her name before she knew Tanu's.

Shinobu let out a small sigh and set his eyes to the sky as Tanu rolled hers at him and turned around. She was so feisty and full of anger, Shin had a hard time dealing with her at times. He kept staring upwards at the sky until Tanu spoke again. She was asking who the girl was, which made Shin raise an eyebrow. Tanu had met Hanabira before, yet she didn't remember her? Then again, what did Shin expect? Tanu felt that she was high above everyone else, so why would she remember? "That's Yamanaka Hanabira," Shin said back to her as he began to stand up. He knew standing up wouldn't give away their position since Hanabira was so buried in that notebook of hers. "She's going to be training me in the Academy jutsus," Shin told her still in a hushed tone of voice so Hanabira couldn't hear.
Pausing for a moment, Shin looked down at Tanu in her crouched position. The pause was necessary since he was debating on whether or not to ask a question to the Kun Kumo. Giving out a sigh since he knew he was probably going to regret it, he asked Tanu, "You can join me if you'd like." He truly expected Tanu to say no since she thought of Hanabira as a weakling, but then again... Tanu had asked Shin to be her tutor one evening, so there was a chance she would train with him. It would definitely boost Shin's self-esteem if someone else was training with him. "She's really caught up in that notebook of hers. You can sneak away with out her noticing," Shin suggested more than a helpful hint. He really wanted Tanu to train with him, but if she decided not to, he didn't want her scaring the wits out of Hanabira. After saying that last thing, Shin walked back up to the path and called out to Hanabira from a slight distance. "I found the rope!" he told her with a bright smile, hoping that he hadn't hurt her feelings about reminding her that she had been captured and lost a family member at one point in time...

Tanu recognized the name as Shin said it. They were the flower shop owners. Shinobi flower shop owners... Tanu wrinkled her nose in disgust as she thought about it. When Shin told her what he was doing up in the forest with that girl, Tanu was shocked. "She knows the jutsus?" the girl shot back in surprise, almost raising her voice to full volume with that surprise. How could it be that this girl sitting with a notebook that sold flowers was more skilled than she!? Tanu felt an angry chill run up her spine. It was jealousy. The Kun Kumo had a moment to rant to herself about this new information, but was interrupted when Shin asked her to join. Tanu had never really had a teacher her in Shimagakure. She had participated in several activities at the academy, but she had never been taught something. Feeling a heavy bubble in her throat, Tanu couldn't speak. Shin was the only one that Tanu wasn't afraid of learning from since he wouldn't open his mouth to anyone about tutoring Tanu or making fun of her for not knowing something. That was one of the Kun Kumo's biggest fears; ignorance and lack of knowledge. Being horrible at something was a subject Tanu was not good at taking. The girl puffed up her chest as Shin said his last comment to her before walking over to the Yamanaka.

Frozen where she stood, Tanu had an inner struggle within her mind going on. Should she yell at Shin for being so cold towards her? He didn't crack a smile or show any type of nervousness around Tanu. It was rude that he didn't cower before her anymore! What was going on? Had her impression faded in everyone's eyes now that she had been in the shadows for so long. Her natural reaction was to get up and punch Shin in the face. He was acting slightly higher than her when she had caught him sneaking up on her. Shaking slightly with anger, Tanu wanted to pick up the nearest rock and chuck it at Shin's head for his incompetence. As her little hand reached out for the nearest one, she heard his voice change as he approached Hanabira. That was the tone that Tanu was used to. That's how she wanted him to talk to her! That bright smile that Shin had on his face was warm and calming. Why was he so nice to everyone? He had been nice to Tanu as well. Even if he hadn't been his normal chipper self, he had still invited Tanu to train with him. It was what had changed in Kana's life, having a partner and a teacher to look up to. How could Tanu look up to that pansy selling girl? It just seemed unreasonable to her! Turning in her position to walk away, Tanu heard the noise under her feet as she did so. Physically wincing, she remember what Shin had said about Hanabira being so caught up in her notebook that she wouldn't notice. It was advice that Shin had just given Hanabira, not insults, but advice. Tanu was so caught up in being above everyone that she saw advice as being insults! Now the girl felt like a real fool, but she wasn't about to admit that to anyone. Turning back around to face where Shin and Hanabira stood, Tanu swallowed hard...

Taking all the willpower she had, Tanu began to rise out of her crouching position. It was a slow movement that made her knees sting. She had been crouched down for so long that she forgot about her muscles. Her mind had been dancing circles around her that she hadn't noticed the stiffness and pain in her legs. Making it halfway up to standing, she felt the leaves underneath her rustle. Was she really doing this? Was she really taking the first step towards changing her dream? The sound of that stick breaking echoed in her mind. That was the sound that she had to remember in order to keep moving forward. She wanted glory still, but she didn't want to fail. In order to become strong she needed the direction and coaching of others. She didn't want to be like Kazuma! Without even realizing it, Tanu had stood fully now. She was standing tall by herself with Shin and Hanabira in front of her. To step forward now was to admit that the Yamanaka was stronger than her in a sense. To step forward now was to pull herself out of ignorance and accept the fact that there were weaklings that were more skilled than her. The Kun Kumo was scared. The easy way out now would be to turn around and run back to her room to be alone. She could go back to the Kun Kumo residence and be the strongest there without any confrontation. She could go back to picking on weaklings like Kazuma... That's what Kazuma did though was go back home! That's not what Tanu wanted!

Feeling as if she had been defeated by a different side of herself, Tanu took those steps forward. They weren't steps that were trying to sneak up on their prey and weren't the steps of a predator, but hopefully steps that were part of the herd itself. The weight of her shoulders slumped forward as if she were a runt slowly approaching the stronger animals of the herd. "I want to join!" Tanu blurted out as she came into view standing beside Shin. The Kun Kumo wanted to hide behind the boy as she was forced to break down her hard shell and ask for help from the nerdy girl with glasses, but she still had some amount of dignity! The girl was standing tall next to Shin, well not physically tall, but she kept her head held high. It would be noticeable that this was painful for Tanu to be asking for help, if you counted announcing she was joining in as asking for help, but it was a huge jump for Tanu. Her dream would change and that stick cracking would not happen in her future. She wasn't sure what she was doing, but she was changing her fate right now! "Please teach us!" Tanu said awkwardly to Hanabira, including Shin in the offer instead of just herself... At this point most people would bow to their teacher, but Tanu could not do such a thing since she still felt her superior complex personality hanging above her head. Tanu was slightly fearing rejection right now and was so nervous she couldn't breathe, which made her face turn slightly red as she stood there next to Shin.

"Nawanuke..." Hanabira said, trailing off as she flipped through the pages to find the training she had gone through for that technique. Before Hanabira could explain the technique's training guide, Shin already knew what they would need. Then again, the materials needed to learn the technique should be a no-brainer due to the fact it was called the Rope Escape Technique. As Shin went running away, Hanabira softly smiled to herself. There wasn't much talking required of her with Shin around. He was so considerate and up and going to get what was needed that she barely needed to speak. Sitting down on her rock, Hanabira returned to her notes about her studying of personalities. While she sat and wrote down her notes, the freckled face girl hadn't the slightest idea that someone was sneaking up on her. She was far too busy within her notes. It was like she was completely disconnected from the world when she was deep within her thoughts.

Before Hanabira even knew it, Shin was calling out to her with the rope in hand. The notes she had written down didn't feel like that many and it only felt as if a minute had gone by since her friend had left. "Mm," the girl said, standing up to meet Shin as he came trotting up to her. She flipped through her pages to find what was needed once again. "I have to-" Hanabira started before she was suddenly interrupted by a girl with lime green hair and pink clothing coming through. It was Kun Kumo Tanu. Hanabira had made note to steer clear of this bully since she had heard rumors of her and seen her acting up in the classroom. Getting slightly nervous as her sudden appearance, the shy girl looked over to Shin in a panic. When Tanu said that she wanted to join in, Hanabira felt a little less nervous, but still very on guard. She was speechless for a moment, not sure what to say, but eventually she nodded, accepting to teach them both.
"I have to tie you up first," the girl said, reaching out to take the rope from Shin. The girl was very nervous about tying up Shin, but now she had to tie up Tanu as well. She waited for the two to stand back to back before wrapping the rope around them. Once she secured the knot in place, she turned to her notes and adjusted her glasses. "You must focus your chakra through the part of your body being restrained. Try concentrating your chakra flow through your arms so that they can move more easily," Hanabira read off her paper to the two. Looking up to them with her olive eyes, she hoped they understand what was needed first, because she wasn't quite sure how to explain.

Shocked. Shin stood there shocked and not quite sure how to react to Tanu's acceptance to joining. He stood quiet for a moment as Tanu took her place next him. Then Shin proceeded to smile at Hanabira as kindly as he could with that crooked smile of his and shrug of the shoulders while he scratched back of his head. Hanabira seemed to accept Tanu, even if she looked frightened as all can be, and began instructing them. Shin was thinking that they would be tied up individually, but Hanabira waited until they were back to back. The Nara wanted to open his mouth and request differently, but Hanabira was too caught up in her own mind to do much then just operate while panicking to herself. Putting his back against Tanu's, Shin found that he was a full foot taller than the feisty little girl. He smiled at how much shorter he was and let Hanabira tie them up back to back. Once Hanabira set the knot, he listened to what she had to say. "Concentrate my chakra," Shin repeated to himself. He had done this many times when learning the bunshin technique.

Tanu was standing tall and stiff next to Shin and didn't notice the fear hovering around Hanabira since there was a certain fear cast over Tanu as well. The Kun Kumo was rather afraid of rejection, but didn't want to give away and hint that she was. There were small puddles of sweat held within her balled up fists as she waited for instructions from the inferior being with the notebook. Tanu was so nervous, she almost didn't hear the Yamanaka request to tie them up and before she knew it, Shin's warm back was pressed up against her. "Rrmph," Tanu made a weird gurgle in her throat as her face lit up read. She could feel the back of her head pressed into Shin's upper back. He was so much taller than her! The Kun Kumo truly felt inferior to the Nara now. Trying to lean forward, Tanu let her green hair fall over her face, so Hanabira wouldn't be able to notice the blush in her cheeks. 'Get this over with already!' Tanu yelled at herself, feeling sweat began to bead on her forehead from being so nervous. Taking a dry gulp to push down the lump in her throat, Tanu listened to what Hanabira had to say. Shin repeated it like he knew what he was doing. Tanu hadn't the slightest clue! Why was Shin so familiar with this? Closing her red green eyes, Tanu tried to focus and remember what this was. "The paper!" Tanu shouted out slightly. "Remember the paper that Tenmoki gave us in class that one day? You helped me bring out my chakra. I just have to do it like that right? Bring it to my arms, right?" Tanu asked, slightly excited that she understood what Hanabira had said and had some grip on the training.

"Ah-" Shin started surprised how fast Tanu had caught on to what Hanabira had just said. Honestly he was impressed that Tanu could recall homework and training together. The dusty haired boy was slightly disappointed that he hadn't remember himself. "R-right! Just like that," Shin agreed with her and smiled. "You really were paying attention," the boy complimented Tanu without being too obvious about it. Only hoping that Tanu could see the big smile on his face, he wanted her to know that he was slightly proud of her. He tried to focus back on his task and took that little piece of paper into consideration. Tanu's chakra was strong since hers had turned to ash in a heart beat. Shin had a feeling that she would be beating him in learning these techniques today. His piece of paper had only had a small slit in it, when others who had the wind affinity cut the paper clear in half. Shin thought he had a good control on his chakra. That paper exercise just through him off though...

As Tanu felt the chakra moving through her body, she tried to focus it to her arms. Focusing it to her hands on that piece of paper had been a sinch! Yet, this type of training where she had to spread her chakra around her body seemed rather difficult to comprehend at first. When the Kun Kumo heard Shin compliment her, the blush returned to thsoe cheeks of hers. "Yea..." she mumbled into her chest, trying to seem really concentrated on her current task, but really slightly embarassed from Shin's compliment. Her entire body felt tingly and the girl couldn't tell if it was her chakra stirring up or that annoying feeling she got when she was around Shin. He was always so nice to her that it always made her feel awkward. "This is difficult concentrating it to different spots," Tanu mumbled, admitting the challenge to Shin, something she had never done to anyone before. The girl began squirming around, seeing if she could loosen the ropes a bit by slipping out of them slightly, hoping that would help her. It was hard to concentrate her chakra in this stance. Before she was able to use a seal and concentrate that way. This technique was rather hard without being able to press her hands together for focus.

"Haha, yea it is!" Shin said, happy to hear that she was having some trouble as well. Once he accepted that since he knew how to use his chakra one way, didn't mean he knew how to use it another. Closing his eyes and focusing, he tried to let that chakra spread to his arms and chest where the rope was secured. He pressed his lips together tightly as he felt the chakra move to those spots. "Got it," he said silently to himself. After a bit, he felt Tanu trying to squirm around. "Hey, no cheating," he teased her, leaning his head back as far as he could to rest it on the top of hers. As he did that, he felt like he was flirting just a bit and quickly raised up his head to look over at Hanabira. She was back to looking in her notebook once again. Smiling softly to himself, he was happy that he had made a friend with her. Suddenly, he realized that he hadn't asked Hanabira what she had been writing down and studying so hard all day today. "Hana-chan, what are you working on?" Shin asked the girl curiously.
