Debi made a face, and said, "That's 'cause Miss Pol taught him how. And he's following us, right now! So, hah! I'm right!"
She grinned in triumph, and suddenly changed the direction they were circling in.
Aoaka raised an eyebrow. That had been getting awfully close to what he didn't allow. But the little demon didn't push it, and so neither did he. He merely lurched to a halt to avoid running her over, and gamely switched directions.
He raised his eyes heavenward in a "what are you going to do?" gesture, and smiled ruefully at Alicia.
The music seemed to be drawing to a close, though, and once it had, he guided both of them off the floor.
"I think that's enough for now," he said, and when Debi pouted, he added, "for now. Perhaps we'll go back out later. Or you two could dance by yourselves, if you like," he added, not wanting to ruin anyone's fun. He was perfectly content to sit on the side and watch.
"Papa! You're such a hermit!" Debi teased, and shook her little finger, the other hand on her hip, a dissaproving expression on her face.
"Yes, I suppose I am," Aoaka agreed amiably. It was true, after all. He turned to Alicia.
"What about you? Do you often come to social events?" he asked, curious.

Alicia laughed and turned sharply to follow along. It was nice to be around these two they were so sweet. She hadn't been around a father and daughter realtionship before and she was learning alot.
Alicia followed them off the dancefloor and shook her head at his question. "I actually haven't been on the isle long. I grew up elsewhere and just recently came back." If he wanted more information on it she would let him know.

"Really?" Aoaka asked, curious, but not wanting to pry. "If you don't mind my asking... why did you grow up off island? Did your parents take you?"
Debi, meanwhile, had run over to the buffet, and grabbed some crackers and cheese.

"I was actually adopted by a non-Telruyna resident." She thought about the story and then smiled, "He raised me and when I became old enough I decided to some back and see what I missed. It sure seems like I missed a ton!" She sometimes wished she had never been adopted, but you couldn't change your past.
