It's actually a little different at our school. No one picks on us for being in the band, but they don't associate with us either. If we're not at the football games they get mad at us though.

The greatest thing you will ever learn... The cheerleaders are generally okay with us, but we in Guard like to make 'em jealous with our mad flag skills, and the band likes to spite 'em by playing Big Red [I'm praying most of you have heard it] really, really, fast. ...is just to love, and be loved in return.

It's because we are cooler when it comes to halftime shows.

Because they are rude and self-centered. And they can't live with the fact that musicians are more intelligent than they are. And that more people care to watch us instead of them.

It's because they're jealous of our mad skills. I don't have a problem with some cheerleaders, it's mainly the popular/snobby used to be cheerleaders that bug me. My best friend is a cheerleader and she's fine with me being in band. They're just afraid we'll take the attention of the audience away from them

The band gives them various reasons to be jealous.

well I know that if our cheerleaders don't hate the band they sure as hell hate our Drum Line lol Whenever we have a football game and the DL starts to play their cadences the cheerleaders like to copy the guards dance. So what do we do? We piss them off by confusing them and making them look like idiots infront of the stands. See we start off the cadence slow and then we speed it up real fast, or vice versa. Its pretty funny lol

ummm....cheerleaders at my school love us. neutral our football team might win one game a season and we work harder anyway....if you've ever seen ohio university perform, thats our style....we high step, do dances that get on the ground, and play new and classic rock.....needless to say we don't go to competitions, they don't let us, but we do go to festivals.....sorry, off topic....the cheerleaders and fans come to games to see us, they learn our cadances and our dances. the change in the crowd before and after halftime is astonishing..... (the pic doesn't really have anything to do with the performances but its a cool pic!)

I don't think the cheerleaders in my school hate the band but if they did I have a good reason on why that would be we're louder and we can get the crowd into more spirt then the cheerleaders sometimes we're good like that

I'm going with the fact that band drowns out the cheerleaders and we are smarter than the cheerleaders. And we also get everyone's attention first, because we are cool like that! Also, cheerleaders hate the fact that we get to play music and not lose our voices from trying to scream really loud rofl rofl rofl
