Though I just did a little research, and I found that the gums can close up anywhere from a few weeks...to a few months....I guess it all depends on how you take care of them sweatdrop

When I got my dental implant, I wasn't allowed to blow my nose for two weeks or risk ripping the delicat skin between the screw and my mucus membrain.
When my cat had surgery a few weeks ago, she wasn't allowed to get excited or jump on anything for 10-14 days.
I'm willing to bet it takes at least that long for a wound to heal, maybe longer inside your mouth.
