The first step would bring her to a desert as the heat hit her. Her anger was forgotten as she looked outwards into the expansion and yelled loudly.
"For the love of!"
There was nothing more that Nakano could do other than start walking across it. One foot in front of the other as she would make her way across the desert. The heat enough to make her want to gag as she would finally slow down indeed as Suzaku caught up to her. The Skarmory was walking when she much rather fly, and as the girl saw the look on her face at this strangeness indeed she would simply thumb a gesture.
A nod and a caw and the bird was gone and above. Though relaxed, Suzaku had been staying beside her to keep her safe, but now ...well now there was no reason as she would catch the nearest gust of wind and leave ....even though that gush of wind felt like it was going to peel the skin from her bones.
She hated hot places like this, and so open space. It was no place for a ninja, especially one of her lineage.

Almost as if she had summon it ...the moment that the Skarmory reached he sky it would appear. A Vulpix pup as he c**k his head to the side ...his ears lower as he gave a quiveringly lip in the girl's directions. THis was nothing more than a moment to garnish pity as he seemed to give off a horrible limp. But he was no more hurt than other pokemon around this part, but he had a good feeling that she had something nice on her. Something he could steal as he gave her big puppy dog eyes as he looked for his opening in the sand. A tunnel.

One minute they were standing there... the next, it was an unfolded chaos as the Skarmory struck.
And Burnout's instincts had certainly been right, the Spinarak had certainly been a good bit of bait, just not perhaps the kind he had wanted.
All four of them stared at the creature... and she was terrible, beautiful, but terrible, bladed death stared downward on them, as she sat there and consumed the Spinarak they had just been speaking to a moment previous.
Burnout's fires stirred... at least it was quick, relatively... yet still... while he may not have personally cared for the creature, he owed it a debt, a debt he would see to re-enact, as he rushed up at the Skarmory.
"Burnout, wait, come back!!" Jasmine cried, but it was already too late, the Lampents fame carried him higher and higher!
[I am afraid, you have made a mistake... and when I speak... I will give you a choice... Your freedom. Or your life. You forfeit one... to preserve the other.]
[Choose!]
And without warning further, the bottom section of his dome opened, the metal opening to show the root of his fire, before it suddenly ignited anew, the fire burst to life and now, as the Heatwave was unleashed, the opening allowed the waves to rush out, blasting in the face of the Skarmory... at speed they were even... this open challenge was now to be a face off!

Nakano would declare as she lower herself to be at the same height as him. A hand coming out to touch the top of the pokemon's head ....though she would find herself quickly distracted as something screams from above. The glint of metal made it clear ...as it would seem that Suzaku didn't think he was so cute at all ....her wings close to her body as she prevented him from getting too close as she lands in front of him.
Her stance was obviously one that threaten his life as she lands in front of Nakano hackles up and battle ready.

The Vulpix's ears would curl backwards against his skull. His fangs were being showed ....as his tails flip behind him ...as he growls angrily. He couldn't help those growl ....as his stomp his paws into the ground. his tail would flick around and about him ...as he showed his fangs.
No he wasn't going to take that laying down at all ....as he would curl the flames on his lips. Taking his maw and chomp down upon his fur he would start to chew it.
Before he would spew it out ...burnt by his flames as he used Ember.
Afterall, she was the one to start it ....all he wanted to do was play ...alittle nicely.

The Skarmory wouldn't even speak she didn't need to ....as she leap free of her perch. She looked at the pokemon and her wings were outstretched as wide as possible as she spiral down towards him ...that anxious little flame. To say what he said to her ...the her as though she was something lower than he ...she would make him pay as she spread her wings even further. As she allowed the wind to rustle in them ....as she aimed her beak towards her opponent ...she was going to tear this flame apart and then snuffle out all of those little embers that came from it.
No she would make it clear, she wasn't something easily to mess with.
At the last moment she would pull upwards as she strove to drive that beak through her opponent in one clean blow.

In a single hit, it was clear ...this wasn't going to be an easy battle as the Skarmory's head would drop in pain. She would flick her wings as it crept upon her body ....and she tried to keep it all under wraps ...as Nakano seemed to only then realize the danger they were in.
She was swift in her movements as she went to her side. The burns ...she was lucky not to have any more than what had come from those embers that had bore into her body like worms upon contact with a healthy tree.
She shook as the girl dropped beside her and started to put sand on the embers that still glowed to try and put them out.
This was already a bad situation as the Skarmory glares at the Vulpix.
One in which they had three choices, to continue the fight, heal, or try to capture.
Nakano already knew what she planned to do as she detached her first pokeball. She had been so mad she hadn't stop to do the jutsu to alter it's appearance so she still held a regular pokeball in her hand as she hurl it at the fox.
There was no sense in letting this get to be worst then before.

The first pokeball was wasted as the Vulpix laughed loudly and simply raised up his maw to it. Catching it in his teeth he would bite down as he sent it down as little pieces amongst the sands and then smiled at her. His eyes went to the trainer as he wags his tails ...was she going to try and throw another one.
He had hoped to steal them, but destroy them would have to take second place. THough he didn't mind it one little bit ...as he waited for it to happen again.

Her first attempt ended in failure, and the girl wasn't willing to sacrifice another pokeball so soon. Instead, she went for something different as she pulls out a potion as she starts to spray her pokemon with it instead. The burns disappear as the Skarmory rose back to her feet in another defensive pose.
This little fire fox was beginning to become more trouble then he was worth as she tries to hold his wings steady as she looks intimidatingly. If only she was airborne, this battle wouldn't last too much longer.

Though the fox had other plans than to let her take to the sky. Once more turn with his flames, especially seeing that when the trainer was in a pinch she tend to throw away the items that he had every plan to steal.
NO a change in tactic here, he wanted to defeat the bird but only enough to get what wanted. And that was whatever items she was carrying, so maybe, a slight more gentle approach was in order as this time he would aim his attack differently.
Instead of flames, his eyes would glow with a ghostly light as he used Hex instead.

This attack would come off lighter, but not by much as Suzaku still took the hit. Nakano would grit her teeth as she was knocked backwards by the attack ....they couldn't win this the way they are now, but to retreat would be even worst. There wasn't a lot of choice, this probably wouldn't be the last of the fire types here, so the girl knew she had little choice.
She had already wasted one pokeball, so either she captured this pokemon or ....risk destruction by trying to cross with just a Skarmory. As she for once recognized the weakness of her pokemon and found herself hating every moment of it as the steel pokemon looked back at her.
Panting harshly.
"Use Ominious wind." "We need to do something other than continuously running from this one."
She told the Skarmory as the bird eyes would turn back to the Vulpix as she would flap her wings. Sending the wings rushing past her ...towards her opponent as darkness and despair seemed to ride those winds as well.

He wasn't surprise at the change of attacks, what other choice did she have. A smirk crossed his lips as his tongue hung out in what many would call a puppies version of a laugh.
No, this was fun ...as he felt those wings coming. But he was a creature that controlled ghostly powers as well. There was little chance that he would get caught in those winds as his eyes would glow with the a ghostly flames ....and the fox would seem to disappear out of the midst of that attack.

She had missed ....her attack as the Skarmory took one look at her trainer.
"Fly high."
Nakano would tell her even as she took out one of the kunai from it's sheathe. She could take care of herself until it was time to strike once more as the Skarmory nods once and then open her wings to try and get back into the air ...she knew that if she stayed as she was now ...this battle would be over way too soon.

BURNOUT ROLLED A FUMBLE, -1 TO ALL FUTURE ATK ROLLSThe attack was too full hardy, too brazen, he didn't have the body or the lungs he once used to fight... or maybe it was just the fact he never had performed as well against Skarmorys as he ever wished.
The beak's hit was not great, but a good sizable portion of his power as a massive crack went through the glass fome of his body, a smashing noise tinkling through the air as he fell backward...
It was a bad start... but he needed to make up for it... a physical battle was only one thing, a psychological battle...
[Is that all you have...?] He growled... not allowing Jasmine's cries below to reach him, as he would fade out... and then back in, his crack gone, the spectral shape was his will, his concentration... as long as he made sure to hide the damage...
He may still be weaker, but he at least appeared unfazed, certainly more so when again, there was a clink of metal, the bottom housing below his glass dome lowered to reveal his flame once more, and with a spark of ignition, his flame poured out into the open air, blasting not with the flame, but the sudden that would attack joints, attack armor and flesh alike!
The Heat Wave alone would create a thermal that would throw off the metal bird's flight, as he looked to throw the thing back just with the sheer force of his attack!

Once the attack was done, the Vulpix's head would pop out of the tunnel he had been standing before. The shadow going across his vision would be the only warning he had of what the Skarmory was up to ....as he looked up to see her trying to fly high.
He would only have one chance at this as he spew flames upwards at the quickly soaring form. He wasn't about to let her get away if he could help it.
