Ananda sat sideways in her chair, giving Kenzi a serious look. She raised her cup of coffee, took a sip, and set it down on the table. For a moment, she said nothing, then sighed softly and started to talk. "Look. Now that Rille's gone, I have to tell you something. I didn't want her to worry about me any more than she already does, but..." She shook her head, and continued. "It...could be dangerous to be following me around. I sort of ran away from home, and my...my father...see, he thinks of me and my brothers as his possessions, I guess. And he's trying to get me back, by whatever means necessary. Or, if he can't do that, he'll try to kill me, but that's a problem for the future. I had a run in with him yesterday, so it should be a few more days before he makes another attempt. But I can't be sure. Anyways, he'll kill...or try to kill...anyone else that gets in his way. So if you're trying to avoid that kind of trouble...you should probably leave me alone." Finished, she picked up her coffee again, drinking it slowly, waiting to see his reaction.

Kenzi nodded in undetrstanding as she finished what she was saying and waited a few moments before saying anything... "I do not avoid such conflict....in fact, I am going to offer you my protection...I am not sure about how strong these people are. But if they are any less than demons they will not stand much of a chance head on...I may not be the strongest of demons, but any demon can out maneuver anything less when protecting another. One of my brothers will be arriving some time or other aswell, I don't know which one but either of them will probably be pretty willing to help out." he used that serious tone the whole time he was talking andas he finished that he decided to add on one more thing out of context. "I guess that'll give me purpose for sticking with you as your companion..." and that was the last thing he said. He stopped and sat there looking at her with a bit of a smile as he waited for he to say something back to him, probably it would be less than surprising.

Ananda gave him a surprised look. "Hmm." She stared at him, trying to figure out what his motive was. Finally she shrugged, leaning back. "When I'm in fair condition, I can beat any of my brothers...there are five of them, by the by...on my own, easily. My father...maybe half the time I can win. Unless he's drunk, which happens a lot, then he's as easy as any of my brothers. Last time he was drunk, but the next time he'll be sober. And he'll have reinforcements. Maybe just my brothers, maybe someone better. I don't know." And maybe that's what bothers me the most, she added mentally. The not knowing. Not when he'll show up, or where, or who'll be with him. I just hope it doesn't come down to a fight with my brothers, they're as much victims as I am.

Alice began to slowly eat her salad which consisted mainly of leafy greenss, carrot slices, cucumbers and lightly poured dressing. Slipping one of those leaves, cucumber plucked up as well, into her mouth she simply smiled. A soft chuckle came as she swallowed and replied.
"No, it's alright..." She pointed to the scroll then. "So no one knows what is says?"

"Well, not really," Akira said picking up a piece of gyoza, "My foster parents couldn't decipher it, but they knew it was an angelic language because in they had come across it before, and every time it was with some sort of carving or image of angels."
He put the piece in his mouth and ate it quickly. "Every once and a while I look through it and can somehow read some of it," he continued, "That's one of the strange parts about me. I don't know how but I can just understand it somehow, like it was a language I used to know." He picked up another piece of gyoza. "You wanna try a piece?" he asked Alice.

Alice had been on the unchosen diet of European and Mexican style dishes - and had never even seen what he was offering to her until now. Her eyes scanned it over with slight interest at most. She had always been told to try new things, so weakly smiling she nodded and said.
"Sure....ummm...what is it?" A lightly sheepish laugh showed her embarrassment in her own lack of knowledge for things outside her former home.

"Um, well..." he said looking at the food for a moment, "I've never really thought about it before. I guess you could say it's kind of like a dumpling." He stopped for a moment and held it out is front of her. "It's from Japan," he continued, "It's like this piece of dough with meat iand vegetables in the middle. Then they fold it up and fry it in oil for a little while. It's really good I swear."

Kenzi listened with interest...now he was beginning to be tempted to stick by her just for an easy kill...that was until he heard her thoughts about not wanting to fight her brother-which obviously would restrict his killing them. He sat there silent for a moment as he thought over the possibilities and then he looked back up at her and blinked twice. "I see them as not much of a threat then...if they come in numbers then that will only take more time-not much more effort...I'd like to know how strong they were, but to do that I would need to know how strong you were-since they wouldbe weaker. Would there be any possibility of you and I fighting for that? Or is that too much to ask, and out of the question?" he spoke so seriously, but sooner or later he would change his tone...just a matter of time. She didn't seem to change much though, so he would feel free to judge her now instead of later...

"I wouldn't mind a fight. Haven't had much of anyone to practice against since I got here." Ananda gulped down the last of her coffee, and frowned for a moment. "But if that's what we're going to do, I'd suggest we fight now, or soon, and end up at the hospital, since I have to head there anyways. Though," she added with a slight shrug, " it'll probably be me that needs it more than you, I'll admit I'm woefully out of practice." This wasn't quite the whole truth, she had practiced some, but it had been awhile since she had sparred with someone else. And if Kenzi went into the upcoming fight thinking he had an extra advantage...well, that probably wouldn't hurt her any either.

Kenzi raised his brow...out of practice? He took it as it was suppsoed to be heard, but he had not practic at all in what seemed like forever, though he would probably still be more warmed up than she was...since he had been more involved then it seemed she had. "You lead the way to wherever you want to be our arena. We can do it right here and right now...but I am pretty sure that it would not be looked upon very fondly. I'm sure you'd be up to it though, aren;t you?" There it was, his smartass tone of voice that he was known for. During the battle she would discover his infamous smirk and then his character would be totally in view for her. Now he waited for her to lead the way, so that he wcould see how horribly weak the attackers would be...if she could defeat them when "woefully out of practice" then they could not be very strong at all...could they? So now he stood, and leaned against the table waiting for her lead. Like a dog on a leash waiting to be walked, he stood there waiting to be brought to wherever they would spar.

Ananda stood, streching slightly. "I agree, it might not be appreciated. I haven't been to either arena yet, but...let's head for the Dark Prayer arena. Oh." She stopped as she was about to head for the door, examining her baggy clothes with a critical eye. There's no way I can fight in this, I just about get lost in it walking. "Give me a bit to head back to my dorm and change into something more suited to fighting, will you? I'll meet you later at the arena. You can choose the field when you get there, if you've got a preference. I don't care, as long as you don't pick the water one." I've no desire to drown this morning as well as getting beat on, thank you. She started towards the door again, before he could reply. She didn't really care what his answer was, she was going to go ahead anyways.

Hiro entered the dining hall slowly, walking at a casual pace even though he was pretty sure he'd be followed. He didn't look behind himself though as he continued walking. He pushed open the doors, holding them open long enough for someone to slip in behind him, and then proceeded to the line. He stood in it only for a few minutes, as this was a rather odd time to eat, and then ordered an extremely rare cooked steak. He stared at it as it popped out of the machine he had to swipe his ID card in, and then shook his head slowly before picking it up. It was kind of gross to him, but he didn't mind the smell of the blood at all. He turned, glancing towards Seishi for a second, but not speaking. She'd said she wasn't hungry, so he assumed she wouldn't be eating. He sighed quietly to himself as he walked over to a table and sat down at it, setting the tray in front of himself. He picked up a fork and knife and began cutting pieces off, and lifted one up. The blood actually dripped off of it for a bit and he watched it, his nose wrinkled in disgust, before he popped it into his mouth, closing his eyes. It actually tasted really good, though he didn't want to admit it. He didn't want to end up dying his fangs red with blood like Alyssa had. But he cut off another piece and ate it as well, chewing thoughtfully as he stared at the table. His wings were folded tightly against his back as he sat, sword still strapped at his side.

Seishi followed after him and slipped through when he had opened the door. She looked around the room, and before she was seen lifted her hood up again. Though it was disrespectful to Hiro, she was not ready to expose herself to the rest of the world. She had seen a girl pass by her but ignored the girl as she was of no importance to them. She watched Hiro walk away with near raw meat and walked up to the machine herself shoving her ID through the slide and waiting near silently as she fiddled with the inside of it telepathically. It dropped two peices of meat that were completely raw and the blood began to overflow the tray as she grabed her ID and it vanished as she left to where he was, spilling a little of the blood on the way. She retracted the blades on her weapon compleately and it almost looked like a really thick gauntlet instead as it ws now but three blades bent back. She squeezed all of the blood out of both of the peices of meat and then set them aside, not eating them at all but now looking at her reflection in the blood as she pulled down her hood. If she was going to be dragged here consquence to her own actions then she would at least make sure to have something to do while she waited. And playing with the blood as she waited was just what she expected to do...her hands were already blood stained aa she made the blood float and condense so that it would not spill from the tray and such thingsas this.

Hiro blinked glancing up at Seishi as she sat down as well, but then continued eating again. He moved pretty slowly though, not sure where he was going after this so in no rush to get there. He'd taken note of what she'd gotten, despite her saying she was not hungry earlier. He saw that hers seemed to be even more raw than his own. It also seemed that she was just playing with it, rather than actually eating. He was tempted to make some sort of joke, but wasn't sure how she'd react so he kept it to himself. He blinked and took another bite of his own. He hadn't eaten real food in at least three months, so this feel really odd, and he probably wouldn't be able to finish. His wings shifted against his back, ruffling against his back. He wasn't wearing a shirt, as he'd just escaped from the hospital and hadn't had time to grab one. And by escaped, they really had made a run for it and come close to being caught again. Then, right after that, Seishi had attacked them. He frowned slightly at the memory as he took another bite.

Seishi saw through the blood of the animal as Hiro ate, and dropped the blood with a splat on the trray when she frowned. With her left hand she picked up both thick slabs of meat, and though it would take both hands and some back power to normally do this, she used her fore-, middlefinger, and thumb to very gently and smothly pick up the meat, dip it in the puddle of blood, and then set the meat on the side of his plate. Once hse'd done this, her eyes met his for just a moment, before she moved on to shaping the blood again. It was blood that would be of no use to her since it was animal blood and could not be shaped or solidified as effectively as human blood could. She would steal his blood from him sooner or later, but that was not for him to know she was planning. Not yet at least. So she waited even longer for him to finish. though she doubted he would finish both of the meats that she handed him and the one he was already eating.
