When the horn blasted, Eztli and her Pokemon all awoke with a start. Eztli wondered sleepily if the horn meant that they were in Sinnoh, but she didn't dare leave her cabin to find out. She could still feel the boat moving, and at a fairly fast pace, so she took that to mean that they had not yet arrived. Why then was the horn blasting? A voice came over the intercom.
"Sorry about that folks, I know you probably were all enjoying your rest, but we just had to scare away some reckless trainers trying to board this ship via their Gyardos. Nothing to worry about. That is all." Eztli inwardly rolled her eyes at the intrusion. She was always grumpy when she first woke up. She looked to where Zolin was standing, leaning against the door. After the horn had blasted, Zolin had hastily stood up to give the impression that he was still guarding the door like Eztli had asked him to. Eztli, however, wasn't fooled, but she was too tired to start lecturing Zolin on the dangers he had placed them in. She didn't know what dangers they were, but she knew there was bound to be some. She rolled off the bed, standing shakily. Xipil had promptly fallen back asleep, apparently not caring about the invisible dangers. Eztli's hands suddenly registered pain, and she looked at them. They were a light red, like a suburn. She looked back to Xipil. 'I must have been near Xipil while I was asleep. She's controlling her internal temperature pretty well, normally the cabin would have gone up in flames with a Fire Pokemon in it, especially one like Xipil.' Quietly, Eztli fished around in her bag, Zolin looking on from his place at the door. She pulled out some trail mix, and began to eat. It wasn't a satisfying meal, but it would have to do until she reached Canalave City. She picked up an apple she had found in the Pokemon Center on Cinnabar. It was still fairly good, only a few soft spots. She tossed it to Zolin, who deftly caught it and began to eat. Eztli sat back against a wall, attempting to think of a strategy of finding and rescuing Mix. The first step would be figuring out where Mix was being held. She knew it was most like at the organization's headquarters, but she had no idea where that was. She couldn't go around asking for the location of some secret, powerful organization that was immeasurably dangerous. She would somehow have to deduce its location, or just get lucky and overhear some gossip. Neither seemed like a real, viable plan when Eztli took into account the time it would take and the secrecy of Mix's kidnappers. She let her thoughts wander, out of ideas. Though was Eztli was a very calm and joyful person, she was also very rational and with little imagination. She could not think of scenarios that were not plausible because her mind would immediately discount them. So her thoughts wandered to other aspects of her daring rescue: supplies, transportation, and battles. She knew at some point she would have to battle an agent, and she also knew in her heart that Xipil and Zolin would be crushed against such an opponent. 'The only way I could possibly win would be to have Mixcoatl on my side...I saw the Pokeballs attatched to his belt, he has to have some of his Pokemon left. Last time I saw them, they were really strong. Mix probably doesn't know that I've seen his Pokemon, he thought he kept them secret. But I snuck out once to see them. I definitely remember his Charizard. He named it Quetzal. Mix actually seemed to like him, and Quetzal looked happy...Why would Quetzal be happy around such a bad person?' Eztli stopped herself, horrified. Though she had no love for Mixcoatl (as she kept telling herself), she would never have thought her brother a bad person.
'How could I? Mix, mi hermano, forgive me!' Eztli was startled when she heard a knock on the door, and saw the doorknob turning, though the door was locked, and so didn't open. Eztli thought for sure it was karma for thinking her brother a terrible person.

"Yes, I believe that we're all ready..." Ryka glanced down at Iris, who cheerfully mewed as a confirmation. Fantina's mention of practice gave Ryka a bit of a shock, however. "Of course! How could we forget about practicing... I suppose we aren't so ready after all." The pair had made their way outside of the Hall, standing right outside of the doors. It looked as if the Hall was about to close for the night, as well as many other stores around. The orange sunset had disappeared and left no light, save for that of the moon.
"Wow, it certainly got dark fast. Are you heading to a hotel for tonight?" Ryka asked of Fantina. Ryka couldn't help but to admire Fantina's dress, which glowed in the light of the moon, making Fantina look almost like an ghost herself. "Thank you for everything, really. I'm so glad that I got to meet you, and learn from you. I hope that your teaching will show tomorrow during the Contest!" Ryka gave another bow of gratitude, and then looked down towards Iris. "Are you ready to go practice, dear?"

"Finally, halfway there," Mahnaz commented with a sigh. She was physically exhausted but didn't want to sleep anywhere that was...well...outdoors. At least, not yet. If she could avoid it, she would. " So, I have to ask," Markus asked, riding right next to her. "What other Pokemon do you have?""Just Maipe," she answered with a hint of anger. Why did this guy care so much about her Pokemon? "And I'm not fighting you today." "Growl," Maipe confirmed. He didn't like this guy, but knew that his master didn't either. An attack was building up, just in case the man tried something. "Chill madam, I was just curious. If your traveling with less than three, you're setting yourself up for failure," the man said with a tone of superiority."Well, I'm here, aren't I?" she asked as she kept pedaling down the path, watching the Pidgey fly above her. "So, I think I'm doing just fine." She rolled her eyes and turned, seeing Vermillion City in the distance.

Hmm putting the stun spore in the sandstorm was a pretty good idea. However there was an area on the battlefield that wasn't under the Sandstorms influence. "Cranidos into the tunnels you go!" Roark shouted in order to be heard over the din of the storm. It was a good thing his Cranidos was so well trained and it knew exactly what to do. Without protest the ancient pokemon sprinted forward and dove down into the hole his comrade had left.
Inside the tunnel it was calm and dark, not that it really mattered to the Cranidos as it had practiced this with the gentle giant before. It was a strategy that they often used against foes that were a lot stronger then them. Of course he didn't really know where the Tangela was but that was ok, he was safe from that powder down here. Running along the tunnels Cranidos did his best to hear what was going on above from the pounding that was echoing through the tunnels. He just needed to find that grass pokemon and then it was in for a pounding!

When Jaeshan agreed to come with her Robin let out a happy 'woop' and jumped excitedly. "Oh were going to have so much fun!" Grinning down at Black*Star she gave him a thumbs up before turning back towards Jaeshan. It was then that Robin noticed that his hands were full of food. "Oh! I am super sorry! You probably need to feed your pokemon! I shouldn't have grabbed you like that, sorry my bad!" The redhead laughed a little nervously and hoped that the blond wasn't to mad at her. If anyone knew the importance of feeding their pokemon it was Robin. "Ah, we can go outside for that if you want." Robin glanced over at Jaeshan feeling a little bad that she had just kinda forced herself onto him like that when he was supposed to be feeding his teammates.
At Robins side Black*Star couldn't help but give his trainer a weird look. She was acting so strange around this boy. First she was really excited and now she was acting like a kicked Growlithe. She was so weird, did he really want her to be his number one fan? No Black*Star didn't ditch his fans like that no mater how weird they were.

So, everyone was in? He looked over at Weezing and smiled, then lowered his gaze to Flareon. It had felt like an eternity since he'd battled alongside his fox Pokemon. He had hoped that he was still in tip-top shape despite being at home for so long. And he was sure that Janie had been an absolute terror for him. He looked at Sasha and gave her a slight smile as she agreed to join in the fight. Seeing her here made it feel like they'd come full circle - as a team, he and Mike broke in to the Aqua Base and rescued her. Now she was here to help them bring down Team Magma. Perhaps one day, they'd be the ones to bring peace. Team Magma, Team Aqua, Team Rocket...they'd all be gone. His chest swelled with pride at the thought. As Mike hopped on to Nitro and Blaine explained that they were all allowed to stay in the Big Riddle Inn, Kilik smiled. "I think I may take a slight stroll before turning in," and with that, he recalled his two Pokemon and made his way out of the Gym.
Cinnabar Island had a very distinct scent to the air. With the mix of volcanic ash and salty sea breeze, it was a treat to his nostrils. He slipped his hands into his pockets and walked down a path aimlessly. The boy really had no idea where he was going, but it was a nice night. He pulled out his PokeNav and stopped to sit on a bench, rolling through his contacts. Something hit him like a ton of bricks. What if he'd never see these people again? This was something he'd never attempted before. This was different than just a rescue...this was destroying an entire organization. The idea of doing this without some casualties...Could it be done? Would everyone make it out alright? "My Pokemon are strong," he said to himself, nodding. "I'll be fine!" he stood up and looked up at the sky. The stars sure were bright. Team Magma wouldn't be able to stand up to them!
When he checked the clock on his Nav, he was surprised at how late it was getting. He returned to the Inn and explained who he was to the lady at the counter. Kilik received a key and headed towards the elevator. Tomorrow was going to be a big day and he had to rest up. Unlocking the door to his room, Kilik threw the key onto the coffee table and sighed heavily. He figured a shower would be nice before bed.
-*-
"Well," he spun in place and slipped his hands into his pockets. "If you're just off to challenge Misty, you'll be fine! Especially with that Pikachu of yours," he said, looking at the electric mouse Pokemon, "Yep. That badge is pretty much in the BAG!" He clapped his hands together.
"Now now," he said, "No time for idle chitting and chatting! It's time to get our butts in motion and get going through that cave! If we gett'a'hustlin'," He counted his fingers as if doing math in his head, "We could make it through before midnight! That gives you a solid eight hours of sleep AAAAAND you can challenge her right when the Gym opens!"
"Plus, I don't like just sitting here." He crossed his arms and pouted.

"I guess," Leon replied boredly to Jett's explanation of why they would make a good team. "Stopped fighting? You don't mean battling, do you?" He asked. Battling was the whole point of training Pokémon, at least for the gym challenge. If he had a traveling companion, he'd at least want to battle them every now and then to gain more experience. Not to mention that it would benefit both of the teams involved. "And it's not like we've been fighting each other, in a literal sense."
"No thanks," Leon said in response to Jett's basic repeat of the original question as his Pokémon were called, and he walked past the younger boy to retrieve them. He kindly thanked the nurse and walked towards the exit, pausing to face the younger boy as he passed and saying, "If you want to challenge Roxanne after I do, you should probably get some more training in while you wait." With that, he headed out of the Center and towards the PokéMart to grab a TM before he himself challenged the city's gym leader for his first badge.

As predicted the Zubat was much faster than Twinkers, a fact pointed out all too clearly to all by the Aerial Ace that struck the Fairy Pokemon with ease. The Zubat's teenage trainer smirked as Twinkers pushed herself back onto her feet, a little shaky on her feet. The look of determination on her face was stronger than ever though.
"Twinkers! Do something!" Akane shouted somewhat uselessly. Could it all be over? Should she recall her Pokemon and admit defeat? Akane didn't want to see Twinkers get hurt any more. No, this wasn't right. That boy needed to be taught a lesson.
The beleaguered pink Pokemon listened, however, and held up her index fingers. They started to glow with a white light as they ticked back and forwards to an unheard beat. After a few seconds Twinkers pointed her glowing fingers at the fluttering Zubat, the glow at her finger tips flared and faded away.
Nothing happened.
Then a beam of sunlight illuminated Twinkers, her arms outstretched and her eyes closed. The Fairy Pokemon began to glow with a green light. As the green glow faded it became apparent that the Clefairy was healed, the scuffs and bruises were gone and the look of determination on her pink face intensified. She was back in the fight.

Jake couldn't help but smile at the girl's enthusiasm. It didn't seem to take much to make her happy, and he couldn't help but envy her a little. "Don't worry about it, they're not exactly starving," he said with a chuckle. Turtwig was patient enough to wait a bit, and Bidoof, well, she needed all the cool-down time she could get. He allowed the redhead to lead the way outside, finally starting to realize that she liked him, and not just in the 'he's a good friend' sense, either. He smiled a bit, wondering if in his other life, he liked her, too. That very thought, of course, brought on a whole slew of other thoughts, and he wondered idly if he had a girlfriend out there somewhere who loved and cared for him, and that was devastated by his disappearance. Then again, Professor Rowan said the police had no records of any missing persons fitting his description, so it was highly unlikely.
Once they were outside, he set the armload of food down on a picnic table conveniently located nearby, and he dug into his pockets for the only two Pokeballs in his possession. He glanced somewhat hesitantly at the girl, wondering how she'd react to the two fairly-young Pokemon, and with a sigh he released his two partners. Turtwig materialized first, yawning loudly. When he saw Jake he gave a happy cry and nudged his trainer's leg with his head, though when he saw the girl and her Totodile standing nearby he offered a pleasant "Twig!" to say hello. It seemed his trainer had made a friend, how nice for him! And even better, he'd found them food!
Bidoof, on the other hand, was less than polite when she appeared, still snarling viciously (though in reality she was probably about as intimidating as a purring Skitty) and snapping her sharp teeth. She glared angrily at Turtwig, then at Jake, stopping when she realized they weren't alone. She hissed at Black*Star but was shut up quite promptly by Jake, who stuffed an apple in her mouth. Realizing just how hungry she was, Bidoof momentarily forgot to be angry and vicious and instead munched happily on her breakfast. "She has anger-management issues," Jake said with a light shrug.

"You too," Riza answered, watching the younger girl as she walked away, her two Pokemon in tow. Akima waved at the Chikorita and Wooper, a little sad to see her two new friends leaving so soon, but something told her she'd see them again. Riza knelt down in front of the Sneasel and placed her hand on the Pokemon's head. "She seems really nice," the raven-haired girl said, and the Sneasel nodded, very impressed with her trainer. "But that doesn't mean we're gonna go easy on her!" Akima smiled at this. That sounded more like the Riza she knew and loved!
Riza stood up again, stretching her slender arms over her head, groaning as her muscles loosened up a bit. "All right, now that we've got nearly everything in order, it's time for training!" And with that, she beckoned for Akima to follow her, and the two made their way north of Cerulean, though not enough to actually cross over onto route 24. She wanted to find some place that was fairly empty and quiet, but would also serve as a decent place for training. Riza had also made a mental note of the Cerulean Gym, which she'd passed by several times now as it was located beside the pokecenter. Remembering just how much she'd learned from battling with Lt. Surge made her want to try her luck with this Misty person. * * * * * "Vous êtes le bienvenu, ma petite fleur," Fantina replied brightly, giving a graceful curtsey. "As a Gym Leader and Coordonnateur Extraordinaire, I feel as though it iz my duty to act as a teacher and modèle to anyone who asks of it. I just hope zat I have passed on enough information to get you through your contest-premier." She stretched and yawned, feeling the fatigue of her journey from Sinnoh starting to catch up with her. "Mais oui, ma petite fleur, I am all set to call it a night. Je suis très fatigué de mon voyage, so I must take my leave now. Bonne nuit, ma petite fleur, et bonne chance à vous!" She pulled the younger girl into a hug before lightly kissing both her cheeks. She gave one last fancy bow before she headed off towards the hotel where she'd reserved her room, excited to see what all these new coordinators were capable of.

Robin was a bit surprised to not see the pokemon that she knew Jaeshan kept with him. Maybe he was starting over in Sinnoh? That would mean leaving his friends behind though, maybe he was just temporarily with out them like how Robin was only traveling with Ace and Black*Star right now. That had to be it! Grinning at Jaeshan's comment about his pokemon needing anger management. "I bet she is really strong, after all she has all that energy to be angry! Your Turtwig is really cute to." She had seen one in Professor Rowans lab running around but hadn't really stopped to get a better look since she had been after Ace and Luffy at the time.
Robin bent down so she was closer to the two new pokemon and gave them each a big smile. "Hello there Turtwig and Bidoof! My names Robin Knight!" Motioning over to Black*Star who seemed to realize that Turtwig was a starter pokemon and therefor taking attention away from him. "Thats Black*Star, Oh and I have another pokemon with me right now to, his names Portigus D. Ace, you can just call him Ace though." A thought suddenly came to Robin, sure she had Black*Star had gotten something but Ace still needed to eat! "Oh I should feed Ace to." Unclipping Ace's pokeball she let the Monferno out. "Ace I am going to get you something to eat. This is Turtwig and Bidoof, oh and you haven't really met Black*Star yet either. You guys get along I will be right back ok?" With that Robin got up and with a small wave at Jaeshan she headed into the pokemon center.
Black*Star didn't know how he knew but he knew that the grass pokemon, Turtwig it was called, was another starter pokemon. The Totodile directed its dark red eyes in a glare at the other pokemon ignoring the hissing Bidoof. Look at it sitting there enjoying his trainer's attention and eating when it could be telling him that Black*Star was the greatest starter pokemon ever. As Black*Star was contemplating what it could do to make the other starter respect it a flash appeared to his side. Glancing over Black*Star saw something horrifying! His trainer had another starting pokemon, he knew just by looking at it! And this one looked like it had evolved once already! How could she betray him like this?! No this would not do! There couldn't be another starter pokemon here to take the attention and glory away from him! He was the best and that was that! Growling Black*Star launched himself at Ace just as Robin entered the pokemon center.
Ace who had been out of his pokeball for a total for maybe a minute in a half, having nodding his acknowledgement of Robin getting food. He was looking around at the other blond trainer and a sort of familiar looking Turtwig, he hadn't spent a lot of time with the other starters in Rowans lab, when he was tackled into the ground. Growling the Monferno flipped itself out of the Totodile's grasp and gave the angry looking pokemon a 'What the hell?' look.
It was just then that Robin came back out to see her pokemon in a little scuffle. Laughing Robin smiled at the two before giving Black*Star and Ace a sandwich. "There you two go!" Patting them on the head she turned to Jaeshan again and gave him another smile. "I hope they didn't give you to much trouble." Down on the ground Ace seemed to have forgotten Black*Star and was happily eating his food while ignoring the fact that the Totodile was glaring at him over his own sandwich.

Bidoof grinned up at Robin when she heard the comment about her being really strong. Of course she was, she was hellbent on proving that Bidoof were no pushovers! Just because most members of her species were laid back and quiet didn't mean they all were. She probably would have started growling again but Jake tossed her a sandwich, and she squeaked happily and began to eat it. Well at least food is one way to keep her quiet, he thought, looking to Turtwig as he ate his own meal quietly and happily, causing the blonde boy to smile a bit. He didn't know what he would have done if Rowan hadn't given Turtwig to him. He never would have been able to capture another Pokemon without Turtwig's help, and he continued smiling as he watched the Grass-type enjoy his food, looking up at Robin as she introduced herself, and her other Pokemon. Robin Knight, he mentally repeated to himself, nodding along mindlessly as the girl headed back inside to get food for the Pokemon named Ace.
He closed his eyes, trying with all his might to summon some kind of memory with Robin in it from the depths of his subconscious, but all he could hear in his mind was the name she'd called him by: Jaeshan! Jaeshan... was that really his name? It seemed a little odd to him, and he was sure it was by no means a common name. Even more so, he wasn't even sure he liked it all that much. The name echoed hollowly in his mind, and suddenly he could hear other, unfamiliar voices saying it. An image of fiery, red hair flashed across his mind, but it wasn't Robin, it was someone else. A guy, with red, red hair, and piercing green eyes, and a caustic, sarcastic tone of voice. "What are you waiting for, Jae?" he sneered. Jake growled, feeling an involuntary rush of annoyance for the redhead, even though he couldn't put a name to the face. What does she see in him, anyway? he thought, unable to find a basis for his anger.
He opened his eyes suddenly as Black*Star had let out a feral growl and flung himself at poor Ace, who'd been minding his own business while waiting for his trainer to return with their food. For some reason or other the little gator seemed to have a serious hate-on for the monkey, which Jake's PokeDex identified as a Monferno. Ace didn't seem to like being pounced on and agilely flipped himself out of Black*Star's hold. It was at this point that Robin came back, putting an end to any further scuffles with much-welcomed food. "What's his problem?" Jake asked, pointing at the Totodile. Turtwig looked up from his food, also curious. He hadn't cared much about the dirty looks Black*Star had been shooting at him. Haters gonna hate, right?

Eztli froze at the knocking on the door, then quickly stood and smoothed her clothes down. She couldn't ignore whoever was at the door, that would raise questions as to why there was a locked door to an empty cabin.
"Yes, who is it?" she asked, trying to make her voice more mature, though that was hard since she already spoke very formally. Maybe she should make her voice more childish instead?
"Sorry, ma'am. Just checking to see if this cabin was taken. I'll move along now." Eztli listened for the very faint footsteps of the man walking away. She breathed again. False alarm, she wanted to think, but she couldn't shake the jittery feeling of pumping adrenaline. Her calm demeanor was cracking under the exhaustion and pressure of the last couple of days. Eztli sighed and decided it was time for a little meditation. She crossed to the tiny porthole, and opened it, allowing the sounds of the ocean to reach her. She sat on the floor of her cabin, crossing her legs. Zolin watched carefully as Eztli breathed deeply, in and out, in and out, calmly and regularly. She focused on single image, a white lily. Every time her thoughts strayed, she forced herself back to the calming image of the lily. She sat for a good twenty minutes of just routine relaxation, before she opened her eyes, and stood. Zolin could tell that Eztli had internally fixed whatever was bothering her, and so he was happy. He crossed the room to Eztli's side, tugging on her new khaki pants. She smiled warmly, and picked him up. "How are you feeling Zolin? Well-rested?" Zolin wondered briefly if this was a trick question, designed to incriminate himself, before he dismissed the idea. Eztli wouldn't do that to him. He nodded, and yawned, the skull shaking slightly. Eztli chuckled and hugged him. "Don't worry, I don't mind. Who wouldn't be tired after the long day we had yesterday?' Speaking of which...she glanced to the clock on the nightstand. It was about 8 am, which meant they would be arriving in Canalave very soon. "Time to go. Are you ready, Zolin?" The Cubone nodded, unafraid of the perils his Trainer was going to put him through. As long as he had Eztli, he would stick by her. He didn't like being lonely. Eztli set him down on the bed, then reached for Xipil. The little firebug was still sleeping peacefully. Eztli was loath to wake her, as Xipil wasn't much of a morning person either, but they had to go, and she knew Xipil wouldn't like being recalled into her Pokeball while she was sleeping. So Eztli gently shook Xipil, who's skin was very warm, almost burning hot. Eztli, luckily, was used to handling fire after working at the kiln, and so ignored the instinct to jump back. Besides, Xipil wouldn't injure her unless she started to spew flames. Xipil woke up, and glanced at Eztli, before mumbling a half-hearted "Maaaggg" and falling back asleep. Eztli sighed, and picked the sleeping salamander up, again ignoring the pain. She noticed the sheets were slightly singed. 'Too late to worry about it now,' she thought. She grabbed Xipil's Pokeball, and recalled her, deciding to deal with her wrath later when she wasn't around anything flammable. She also recalled Zolin, and placed both Pokeballs in her bag. She felt the ship slowing, preparing to dock, and she exited the cabin quietly, looking down the hallway before sneaking up to the next deck.

So basically, Jun thought as the mock-battle continued, Demi's kinda badass.
Not that he didn't know this before. The quiet yet sassy Jynx had always had a talent for picking things up quickly; hell, she could give three people haircuts at the same time with that Psychic of hers (which, before today, Jun hadn't known to be an actual attack move), and each one of those haircuts would be different to suit the client's head, with immaculate precision that /almost/ was as good as Jun's. And now she had just gotten started on make-up, and her palettes were ridiculously well blended. This girl, Jun shook his head with a little smile.
Anywho, it was now Posh's time to scuffle, though she didn't look pleased by the whole ordeal. For one, she found battling entirely barbaric, though she supposed Demi had executed the whole ordeal rather gracefully. Though that led to another thought -- what if she wasn't as /good/ at it as the Jynx? Posh had a superiority complex that led to great insecurity about such matters; she couldn't /stand/ losing to anyone, much less Demi who was just effortesslly /good/ at everything. And now she was getting started on make-up, which was something Posh always wanted to do, besides designing clothes. Posh hated Demi for that; though she never let on, the Roselia put in immense effort and time into all her projects, namely her designer line, while Demi just breezed through just about everything as good-naturedly as you please.
Roy smiled at he saw the Roselia. "Quite a beaut you got there, isn't she? Well, my Grotle's a bit tired; your Jynx could probably give it a real run for the money if they went seriously. But anywho, I'll let my boy rest a while, though I do have another Grass-type in my party that'll give you some good practice. Let's go, Leafeon!"
Posh's ego had inflated with Roy's compliment, but that didn't last long. When Jun saw the Leafeon's lush, glossy fur, he was bursting with praise. "Just what are you doing for her? She's gorgeous! Such luscious fur, my, Olsen, are you taking note of this?" Indeed, the Tangela who stood next to Jun's feet was inspecting the Leafeon's coat rather closely; for some reason, he felt a greater affinity for Pokemon's hair rather than human hair.
"Aloe vera," Roy replied to the compliments with praise. "Great for lotions, and actually ingestion, too. Leafeon here loves it."
Well, sorry that she didn't have fur! Posh thought to herself. Haters gonna hate! The Roselia's ego, was blowing up with pride, was now bursting with irritation and jealousy. Suddenly a battle opened up an opportunity to tear up that pretty little fox's face, and Posh didn't mind so much.
With a bubbling desire to inflict hurt mostly informed by her jealousy, Roselia suddenly found herself unleashing glowing white leaves that hurled towards the Leafeon viciously. Jun checked his Pokedex. Ah, so that was Magical Leaf. It looked like Posh, like Demi, attacked primarily from a distance, too. Which suited the diva just fine, you know; why would she ever want to get her hands -- well, vines -- dirty?

Jett smiled, nodding eagerly with what Leon said, especially about the battling thing. He had trouble choosing the right words sometime... A strong sense of hope began to build within the boy, excited that he'd have a true--
Wait, what did he just say?
Jett blinked, rooted to the spot. "U-uh... I-it's a really important decision, I know! You just need time to think! I'll ask you again after your gym battle! Good luck!" He managed to say all this before the trainer left, and finally let out a deep sigh.
Leon was definitely right about the training part, and the boy collected himself and left the PokeCenter, strolling happily through Rustboro.

"S-so," Amy began softly as the group strolled about Cerulean. "T-there's something I think we should do..."
"Chiko?" Flora asked, rushing to Amy's immediate right.
"I think we should try an actual battle," the girl finally said, biting her lower lip. "I mean... you heard what Riza said. Learn the basics of being a trainer? I-it could help us and get you stronger for contests..."
"Chikorita," Flora said simply, just as hesitant about the idea as her trainer. However, the Chikorita saw battling as an inevitability, and she was proud of the soon-to-be coordinator for showing development so soon.
"Woopah." Marshall was, as usual, unconcerned. He was asked to battle? Sure! His grin didn't falter, though the Wooper was even more cheered by the thought that he would become stronger from this. Hopefully.
The respective thoughts of trainer and Pokemon were cut short when Amy ran into a wall.
Excuse me, I mean a man. A very, very large man. He glared down at the much tinier girl, sneered, and placed a very large hand on her considerably tiny shoulder.
"You gonna say 'scuse me, little one?" he growled menacingly, leaning down to meet her blue eyes.
"Excuse me," Amy said simply, staring calmly back at the man. "My mistake." Her usual smile had vanished, replaced with her lips pursed in a straight line. The man, displeased with such a reaction, staggered backwards and noticed the girl's company.
"How 'bout you make it up to me with a battle?" he demanded, reaching for a Pokeball. Amy paused, and then nodded a little.
It seems that her battle had come sooner than she had expected.

Keegan didn't know why, but he was suddenly filled with self-confidence and pride when he heard Mike's response. He never would have expected for his old friend to have that much faith in him, especially after their match back home in Lavaridge. Keegan hadn't won that battle, not by a long shot, as his Pokemon were barely able to keep up with Mike's. But then again, he'd been going through a bit of a slump at that point too, so that could have factored into it. After all, at that point Helios had still been a tiny little Vulpix, and now that he was a grownup Ninetales he wasn't exactly a pushover. He wanted to say something else, maybe thank Mike for the vote of confidence, but instead he just grinned and nodded. He also couldn't help but feel elated at the thought of fighting side-by-side with his old friend once again, and he didn't even feel jealous when he and Kasiya flew off on Nitro to go and talk somewhere.
He looked over at Blaine as he explained their accommodations for the night, though all he could think about was how much he wouldn't be sleeping tonight, not that he was a really big sleeper anyways. Unlike a lot of teenagers that seemed eternally confined to their beds and would sleep upwards of eighteen hours a day if they were allowed, he'd always gotten by on six or less, as he'd been often plagued by insomnia. He wasn't sure if it would strike again this evening, but with the anticipation of Operation: Destroy Team Magma looming over him, it was a sure bet that sleep would not be his friend tonight. ===== It was safe to say that Miharu and Sparkle were having a difficult time keeping up with Sam once she'd started running for the gym, mostly because Sparkle wasn't used to her new, larger form and kept tripping over her own feet. Finally, out of pity, Miharu recalled her, but by that time she was certain Sam had already made it to the gym. Miharu picked up her pace a little, not really wanting to miss any of the upcoming battle. She wondered if Bugsy would remember her, but it seemed unlikely as the young gym leader probably faced dozens of trainers after her, and she was just one of many faces in a crowd.
Miharu arrived at the gym several minutes after Sam had, though she couldn't yet hear the sounds of battle. Either they hadn't started yet, or perhaps she'd arrived before Sam. Miharu highly doubted the latter was the case. She made her way through the indoor jungle, quite glad that she was no longer being accosted by trainers as she walked. After all, she already had a shiny Hive Badge in her collection; this time she was here as moral support. She found Sam in the main clearing of the gym, though Bugsy had yet to make his appearance. She decided to keep quiet and stay back, as she didn't want her presence to unnerve the poor girl. She seemed nervous enough as it was now. Just keep calm, and you'll do fine, Miharu thought, wringing her hands together. Remember your battle strategies and this badge is in the bag!
