And there was all that wonderful praise. Apparently that was right and the other was wrong. Not that she was particularly heartbroken over it anymore, seeing as she had a treat to munch on now that she yanked out of the air as it was tossed to her. More happy purring like sounds. Swallowing down that treat she blinked at them again and cocked her head, babbling random configurations of her new words before she hushed and looked over her shoulder, seemingly watching the sand attentivly as if something had caught her attention.

"I suppose...but I don't want to be in the way. Lycear is one of those people that I don't wish to upset by tripping over and breaking things." Shaking her head lightly, horn tips clacking against something that was nearby where she was laying. Long as they didn't break or anything. "A dragon is a creature that can be highly intelligent and love to learn. Give them attention and they flourish...ignore them or treat them to a certain mindset and that lack such things. They still know they're magics but it's under commands. One time I remember a raid when I was very small...they did it like that."

"you have no idea how much you do. and how often I have contemplated eatting you just because it'd be easier to explain a corpse than deal with you living. However, as you have pointed out, Hunter hasn't come to my bed yet. and I wager it has more to do with a certain pest not relinquishing thier restriction yet than anything.

Yes, she still had her pride and ego.

"But, I get lonely too. and since Thobias has made it rather clear that I'm not on his market, and most of the rest of your crew don't seem like they'd know what to do with me, the only other option I have is you. and if making you deprive Hunter might get me a bit more of his attention, then that's fine. SO you try with hunter, and I'll try with you. even if I have to tie you down to the bed."

Hunter had about half drained the rum bottle, still flipping through maps. there was a myriad of choices in ruins and unmarked areas. the only person that really know the saltbeds was Fang. and while raiding his ship was a fun prospect, it was virtually impossible. they simply wouldn't be able to get in range of her. A knock, and Mister Richards came in.

"Any word?"

"None yet. but we know at least one of them is on the Claw, apparently having a dicussion with Jae and the older elf lord."

"Ask his daughter to send him a message if she can. see if maybe he can bring it up and pry something out of her as to a direction she'd find easier to manage. and don't let the other girl be distracted with her project. she still has to help the galley with our meals. men have come to expect it."

"Such an uncivilized dragon at times. Why don't you just stay in your natural form and fly about roaring or something?" Shaking her head and giving a snicker before crossing her arms once more. What was with this dragoness? Was she in heat or something? "That's because my crew knows they respect one woman on this ship and acknowledge one woman on this ship and that would be me. Want to know why Thobias doesn't want to sleep with you? Because you'd rank him second and he doesn't like to be second. You and your pining after Hunter is quite obvious. I wouldn't want to be second best either. You're just digging your own hole here, didn'tcha know? Raising an eyebrow "So in other words, you don't even find me attractive but only a means into Hunter's bed. No one uses Gem Neerem. And threats suit you in a sickening way."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:07 pm

"and you think hunter thinks anything special of you?"

before a slight snort.

"your physically attractive. however, your attitude tends to offset it. you're too high and mighty and aggravating for my personal taste. the only member of your crew you show any kind of compassion or consideration for is the one your sleeping with. and I'll wager at least half of your interest in Hunter is just because he's a captain of his own vessel."

crossing her arms.

"you'd probably go after Fang if you knew he wouldn't kill you on sight. I use sex for personal pleasure, you seem to have more use of it as leverage or a deal broker."

"No, I'n not vain enough to think he thinks me as anything special. I am to him as he is to me...someone we're more likely to run into in the sandseas that's a different flavor from the norm. It's as simple as that dragoness. And yes I am high and mighty, I earned the right to be high and mighty. I'm the only female captain on these seas. And I could care less if Hunter was a captain or not. He could be a cabin boy for all I care, but if he's pleasing in bed...then he gets to play." Shaking her head and giving a disgusted noise. "Now you're calling me a whore...and yet you sought me out to join you in a bed. Do you ever think about what you say before you say it? If you're done talking in circles and being useless...how about you get out of your cabin and make yourself useful. I have decks you can scrub it you wish." Shaking her head. "Pity you're a bad negotiator."

"That's true, but it should be something so deeply ingrained that not even the ways of the Riders could take it away. Perhaps she is still too young to understand the feel of it and its power." His father could have probably offered them some insight into this, but the Seon's words still lingered in the back of his head. Eyes turning back to Sky at those sounds that meant positive things, he watched her incoherent speech before following her line of vision. "Sky, what do you see?" Unless it was a feeling instead of visual perception... That could be intriguing.

Shyrae nodded, "We're not sure how old she is but if the knowledge is in her blood, there's likely a way to unlock it. Unless she was bred from the egg and never given an adult dragon to teach her these things. In that case, the Riders would become her parents and she'd follow them with complete trust. Even to believe she was nothing but a...beast." Watching her tone when she said that so Sky wouldn't spout off again. Her interest with the sandseas piqued Shy's as well and she felt the area out for a moment. A disruption in energy should be visible in Shy's mind. "Yes, Sky, what's out there?"

Eilynne could understand some of Jae's feelings but not all of them. She seemed scared and uncertain more often than not which went against Eilynne's more dominant personality. She highly doubted the elder dragonlord would be upset with Jae tripping and whatnot, he was too easygoing for that. If anything it would be amusing. But once again sensing a raw subject, she slipped past it without poking too much.

"Your kind is quite easy in that respect. Once they choose a person to cling to and follow, they don't change their minds easily. Their loyalty is non-negotiable until death." Frowning for a moment, she delved into the small memory she'd been granted, carefully testing it's fragility. "A raid? Where were you at the time, Jaebell?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 30, 2007 11:07 am

She continued to watch, head cocked and not moving too much as she continued to watch, head slightly moving with the ships's own movement to keep track on the spot she was staring at. A turn of her body and she flared wings to bound over the railing, hitting the sand and more or less trotted off, not heeding what they were saying. Her destination seemed to be a little tower like outcropping of rocks to which she was lazily heading towards. She knew this place! More importantly she knew what was hidden near it!

"It's more of an imprinting thing to do I would say. And yeah we are kinda stubborn." Shaking her head lightly with a sigh. It wasn't too great a subject that she wanted to talk about but she had to say something, didn't she? After all, silence made people think things they shouldn't about you and Bell had enough of that problem already. But a blink at the odd question...hm, could she even remember that or had she blocked it out. Had maybe happened about...oh ten years ago? Raids didn't happen often simply because there wasn't a steady flux of broods in Ilindal. "I do believe that I was with Koto...I remember because actually I had a bump on my head and I was a little whoozy that day. He wasn't pleased, but he got rid of that vase he didn't want anymore...city went on lockdown and what not."

Desdemona's jaw cenched and her hand did too. she was about thirty seconds from comign across the room and beating that woman senseless.

"useless, am I. and it's not talking in circles. it's a promise. you keep trying to take hunter's attention, and I'll strip you of what diginity I can. Keep it up with your insults and attitude, and I promise if I find a second of opportunity, I'll leave you out in the sands to rot."

and she stormed out of that room, shoving aside anyone that got to close to her, and giving a snarling glance at the star eyed creature that was keeping her a prisoner here, went back downstairs to her 'cabin'. think she was going to offer any help? pfft. hardly.

Malik was just listening, though a glance at the slamming door got his attention for a moment. well. someone wasn't happy. but then back tothe conversation at hand.

"These raids...are they specific to your kind? or is this just a general take what they can get type of thing?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 30, 2007 7:42 pm

"Your knowledge in this area should prove fruitful then, Shyrae. She's still young and the mistakes caused by the Riders should be fixable. She seems to trust you now, that is important." He didn't see what Sky was. More importantly, he saw it visually but didn't know what he was looking for thus that proved useless. Apparently she didn't want to share whatever it was that had piqued her interest though and next thing he knew, she was off the ship and walking away from the ship's course altogether. Eyes slanting back to Shyrae momentarily, his wings flared and he took to the air to follow the little dragon. What was so intriguing about small cliff of sorts?

"We can only hope." Frowning as no one was able to pull an answer out of Sky before she went skipping off just like the baby dragon she was. Watching Kaznec take to the air, she shook her head and crossed her arms. "Well, there goes my ride." Leaning on Dhairiss. "Think we should go after them or let them handle it?"

"With Koto? I assume he is your guardian of sorts?" She listened to Jae's answer with a slight pursing of her lips, comparing it to what she knew about the other things that occurred during those raids and such. "You bumped into a vase and ended up with a bump on your head? Or the vase was broken because you had a bump and became dizzy?" Not quite understanding there. "Were you quite frightened?"
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 2:30 pm

The guardian of course listened in as Shyrae went about teaching the dragon, he found it amusing really until the little blue spoke of words that seemed too be used by the riders. Hopefully someday she wouldn't speak those words in such a manner. But a raise of his eyebrow as she took off and Kaz went off in pursuit. "Kaz will take care of her, besides she seem anxious enough to go to whatever seems to be drawing her.

And now they were on a subject she cared even less for. But she had walked into that hadn't she? Besides, this was good knowledge to know. Thusly a nod. "Specific. Dragon eggs, are the targets. Sometimes they take more, supplies of sorts. But mostly for eggs." Letting her eyes drift to Eilynne, "Koto is the guard Master Strategist whom I apprentice under. He lets me stay with him when his mood proves fair. Generates some bad rumors as I hear lately, but those are only rumors. "I bumped my horns into the shelving that the vase was on, and it fell off and bonked me on the head, giving me a bump." Clumsy as ever. "I was a little afraid, but that's only natural. Sometimes the Riders are bold enough to nab dragons themselves in their neutral forms while we sleep."

Gem merely shook her head and chuckled to herself. "Oh Desi...you're so predictible, so easy to miff into a state of abject anger so that you storm away. This is why you never win." After all, Des was attractive in her own right and everything...but Gem couldn't stand that temper on her. It was just indiant about things. Arrogant too. Pulling her cabin door closed, she stepped out to the quarter deck. "Mister Robins! Find someone to change my bedsheets and put Desi to work or throw her off my ship. This is not a luxury cruise. If you are able to work, you're going to work." Thusly walking over to the little group gathered consisting of Learethe, elf, and dragon. "Lord Elf, nice of you to visit. Lady Leareathe, I do believe we have something to discuss, now or later it matters not."

A look to his friend once more as she leaned against him. "You still have a horse if you really wanted to go. And you might as well stay here. They're dragons, if something happens or whatever they're going to they can handle it while it could potentially maim you. Kaznec won't let them be gone for long."

She looked up slightly, making a noise at him as he followed her before back to trotting across the sand, wings slightly flared. Almost there, happy times! Finally reaching the outcropping, she sniffed around some before she started to dig in the sand. A good six feet down , depth easily managed by dragon claws, she stuck her in and closed jaws on a thick rope, pulling up a locked chest. Setting it out on the sand she promptly sat by it and made noises at Kaznec, more or less urging him to open it, ignorant of the fact that he didn't have a key to the lock. She wanted what was inside. Not the sharp pointy things, or the ropes and tack, but the food and water and like that was in there.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:50 pm

He kept following her but looked back over his shoulder a few times, cautiously. The ships weren't going to stop for them but he didn't want to lose sight of them either. Golden eyes fixed onto the young dragon as she started searching for something, apparently with a purpose in mind... That meant she recognized this place and had been thus attracted here by whatever she was trying to find now. Logic was making sense. Frowning at her urging noises though, he landed onto the ground and examined the chest, noting that it was locked and then tapping it a few times to see if it was empty or not. Nope, and judging by the weight, there were many things in there. "Sky, si chiili ti tepoha wer molis. Thric molis." He could probably crack the chest open if he was in natural form but he was hesitant to do that if she couldn't at least tell him what was in it...

And thusly at his words, she looked between the chest and him. Chest, him. Chest, him. Key key...oh yes that metal bar that opened cages and things like this. No key? But they all had keys...shouldn't you have a key too? Sky cocked her head at him, then looked over him to watch the ships as they were making their way through the sand. Maybe they had keys? Of course it was her understanding that she couldn't break the thing herself because she'd been taught that way. You were not to break things. Another look between the chest and Kaznec, before another urging noise to him. "Throden bensvelk youwe. Sone youwe." And thusly hunkering down to Kaz and splaying a wing, looking at him expectantly. Indeed, Rider mounting capability behavior. "Wux vihaga, si austrat lesla di bensvelk. Itrewic molis."
