muted melodies Rhyala muted melodies [].K.huro.[] I apparently have to take my flute in AGAIN to get it fixed. This time apparently there's something wrong with the...corkkkk is it? xD I forgot. Anyway, the...thingy in the head join, and I have to go get it checked out because my flute is HORRIBLY flat, and it's not ME, and I can't do anything else with my flute to make it sound better. But we checked it out with the thingy that's supposed to say if it's good or not, and it said it was fine...No idea what's up with that, but I need to go get it checked out...today, actually, because this weekend is just a small break from band camp. Oh I hate when you're flat and it's because of the cork in your head joint. smile There's cork in the headjoint? @_@ *is stupid* Where? Actually inside the headjoint. At the left end if you're holding your flute in playing position. I found that out by accident when mine got so loose it fell out. cool Ah... I don't like corks. xD When I had my clarinet, a shitload fell out. And since I got this flute, two have already fallen out from underneath the keys. =/

Novel of Tragedy muted melodies Novel of Tragedy muted melodies Farferalloie Ya, I need to get my new flute tuned. I knew about the test thing long ago and I tried it and it was quite a bit off. But otherwise I can compensate by pushing in or pulling out the headjoint. Agreed. It's just easier to push in or pull out. I don't allow myself to push in or pull out. I tune myself by controlling my air. 3nodding ::sticks out tounge:: Sometimes it's necessary to push in or out. True. In extreme cases of flatiness or sharpiness. razz One day, I pulled my headjoint all the way out, and played Cantabile et Presto, and then I pushed it all the way in and played it again, and it was like two keys higher. It was so funny. ::snickers:: biggrin

I just looked at both of mine and I only have three corks, but I didn't even count how many pads.

I have a question, that'll probably make me sound stupid. sweatdrop I had a really good flute, then two-ish years ago it got stolen, so one of the music stores that mainly supplies the schools lent me one of their flutes, which was REALLY crappy, but it still worked. NOW I'm borrowing my mentor's and no matter how I try to move the foot joint or whatever, I can't find a way to NOT put my right pinky finger in immense pain. Anyone have any suggestions on this? sweatdrop Try cracking your pinky before you play, and having the foot joint all the way up

I meant having your keys on your foot joint facing up towards the ceiling...If that's what you were talking about

My mom went all the way to England to get it for me.
