*From outside the tavern, the sounds of a low droning noise can be heard. The noise is loud for a moment, and then silence follows. Up the distance to the tavern, a man walks. He felt like he was in a whole new place now and couldn't believe his eyes.*
*Aykon climbed the path to his old tavern as he looked at the original place. The new owner had turned it into a boathouse...why didn't Aykon think of this? He made his way up but stopped short as he saw the wonderful exterior. A young blond haired girl clung to the leg of his pant and he held her hand as he led her up the path.*Wow...this place really did come up...good work. *The little girl looked up at him with wonder.*Daddy...where are we? *He smiled down to the girl and held her hand again as he spoke in a gentle voice.*Oh? This is where I used to live Shyla-chan, come on and look don't you want to see? *The girl sniffled and nodded as she held on to his pant leg. He opened the door with a loud creak and quickly held his daughter as she cringed at the sound. For a moment, he could only look around.*

*Hikaru had slept soundly the whole time, until he heard the door creaking open. He opened his eyes and looked around. Not being able to see anything he sat up and then noticed the man and the girl. He raised an eyebrow, it was unexpected to see a child here. He stood up and faced the two strangers with curiosity.*
Er, hey there.
*The presence of the child seemed to throw off his usual charm somehow.*

The young girl's eyes go large as she saw the large inside.
Wow...this place is big Daddy...it scares me!
The man kneels down and comforts the child with a warm smile.
Don't be silly Shyla-chan, this place is plenty safe. Come on...you love meeting new people.
The man looked over at the person who spoke and offered one of the freshest and most genuine smiles Hikaru might have seen on a person. He stood about 5'8 with blond spiky hair and seemed to be an older adult with piercing green eyes. The little girl with him couldn't have been much older than 4 or 5 and stood about 3 foot tall wearing a white dress with sandals. Her hair was as bright as the man's and her eyes were much more piercing than his own.
He nods to Hikaru.
Hey there friend, I'm glad to see someone here. How are you?

*Hikaru awkwardly scratched his head as he watched the little girl. He then looked at the man again just in time to see him smile. He smiled in return, but still seemed a bit caught off guard. Somehow his appearance and friendly demeanor seemed familiar, but couldn't figure out why this was. He stayed standing where he was but responded loud enough to be heard.*
Oh, I'm alright. Just hanging around waiting to see if a friend of mine would show up tonight. I found you instead, heh. Er...looking for a room or something?

Shyla looked around with wonder. She seemed like a small ant in the vast expanses of this place. She kept ahold of her dad's pant leg but allowed herself to explore the place with her eyes. The man seemed to be doing about the same thing.
Wow...the present owner really fixed this place up. I love what he did...
By now, the man had approached close enough to where he could be seen by the man, he looked to be a man in his early 30's. He turned his eyes to you and they were filled with a look of interest as he heard your question.
Well, to be honest my friend, I found YOU. But that's just details. A room? Ah haha. No sir, I happened to be nearby handling business and decided to take a look at this place. Are you new?
The man's words seemed almost strange to Hikaru as if he spoke of time long ago. The young girl was looking around and even felt the floor with her other hand she turned up her nose and looked at her dad.
The floor is scratchy daddy, I could get sp---sp--int--rals.

*Hikaru shrugged at the compliment about the place.*
Yeah, everyone keeps saying that today...I guess Ben at least has an eye for decorating.
*Hikaru didn't feel like analyzing what he just said so he just shrugged.*
New? Here? Yeah, I guess so. I'm guessing you are some old costumer coming back to find the old owner, everyone seems to be doing that lately. I'll just tell you know, the only person around that was here before is Synge, and I don't know where she is right now, sorry.
*He smiled, feeling his regular self coming back. He looked at the girl for a moment and then back to the man.*

Shyla looked up at the man her father was talking to with curious eyes. She noticed he kept looking at her and wasn't sure if she liked this or not. However, the man responded to his daughter by going down the her eye level and speaking to her with a warm and caring voice.
That's why you can't go running around here Shyla-chan. If you want to look more we can but daddy wants you to talk to the man with him ok?
The girl nods and looks up at Hikaru.
Hi mister! My name is Shyla...I am 4!
The man laughs as his daughter reacts so excitedly but then he chuckles loudly as he hears your next statement.
HAHAHA! So lots of people came looking for ol' Aykon, eh? Wouldn't surprise me. Hehe...but oh Synge!
He smiled and nodded
Of course I remember Syngey-kun, she was here studying with Ksi-sempai last time I was around. Is she doing well?

*Hikaru felt an internal sigh when the man said he wanted his daughter to talk to him. He was not good with kids at all. He smiled when she spoke to him and he looked down at her with an amused look.*
Oh, heh, wow, 4...that's...cool.
*He then looks back to the man and wonders why he is laughing so much. He wasn't so sure about this guy yet. When he speaks of Synge Hikaru gets interested and nods.*
Yeah! That's her! She used to talk about Ksi and Aykon all the time. She is doing, er, ok I guess. I'm her best friend! So I'm making sure she is good, but um, how do you know her?

Shyla crinkled her nose and looked up at her father.
He laughed at me...daddy...I don't think he likes me...
He smiles and leans down, tapping the girls cheek.
If he doesn't love you he's the one missing out!
Turning his attention back to the man, he noticed how much the man perked up when he mentioned Synge.
Yeah...Syngey-chan was one of the nicest and sweetest people I knew. I was actually kinda said when she and Ksi-sempai started fighting, but she wanted to learn to fight....oh those were the days.
The man then went and sat down at a couch near you and pulled Shyla into his lap where she started instantly feeling the couch.
This is soft...I like it daddy!
Then Shyla giggled and you could see the man's face almost melt.
Hehe...that's good, I think its soft too.
He shook his head and then looked back at the man.
Well sir...to whom do I have the pleasure of meeting today? My name...
He pauses and offers his hand to the man and smiles.
..is Aykon D. Silvers. I used to run this place!

*Hikaru blushes for the first time in a while, not too thrilled that the little girl thinks he doesn't like her. He scratches his head nervously and tries to laugh.*
Er, I like you! I'm just an awkward guy.
*He sticks out his tongue in a playful way and winks. Then he looks back to the man and listens to him talk about Synge some more. He nodded a little sadly as he thought of Synge needing to learn to fight.*
Yeah...she needed to learn, but she was happy to do it. She really liked spending time here...
*He stayed where he was as they sat down. He was about to tell the man his name when he learned that he was actually speaking to Aykon right now. He laughed and felt a little silly.*
Oh, you tricked me! Heh, well, nice to meet you then. Any friend of Synge's is a friend of mine!
*He shook your hand and smiled.*
Oh, my name is Hikaru.

When you stick your tongue out at Shyla, she bursts into childish laughter and point at you.
Nebba mind...he isn't mean...he's goofy like you daddy!
She continues to laugh in a high pitched and childish way and Aykon can't resist laughing with her.
Oh, goofy am I? Well that's not right!
He laughed again and tickled his daughter's armpit causing her to squeal and giggle before hunching her arms up.
No fair no fair!
Aykon was beaming as he smiled at his daughter and back to you, releasing your hand.
Heh...I am glad she liked being here...that was the best compliment I could ever get here. I hope she is doing wonderful! It's nice to meet you Hikaru. I hope you find this place to be as much of a treasure as I have. Evidently others have too.
He sighs and looks at his clock.
Sorry though, I need to run, gotta get Shyla to bed soon. I was mostly hoping to give a document to the current owner of the place but if he's not around I will have to check tomorrow. It was nice meeting you though, and I am sorry if she was a pain!
He laughed and stood up with Shyla in his arms.
Make sure to tell Syngey-chan that I said "Hi." and make sure you look after her like you said you do, she is too sweet to let anything bad happen to her. The best damn hostess I have ever had.

*Hikaru smiles and feels relieved. He managed to do something right with a kid, that was pretty impressive for him. He saw that you were about to leave and he nodded and smiled in his usual way.*
Ah, alright. I think a lot of people will be sad to know they missed you. But yeah, don't worry about Synge...if I can't help her the new owner is certainly interested, heh...See you later perhaps. Good night.

He waves and heads out the door with Shyla in hand.

Within a few moments, Hikaru could hear the drone of a loud machine echoing off the nearby cliff and then vanishing.

*Hikaru waves as the two exit and he sits down on the couch with a sigh. He felt a little bad about seeing a guy that everyone else loved so much, when he didn't even know the guy. He also felt a little bad saying that he could take care of Synge...considering he wasn't able to take care of her at all when she got attacked back at their home. He shook his head and tried not to think about that right now. He went over to the stairs and laid his shoes there before going up to his room. He slipped his jacket off and laid back on the bed softly, so as not to wake up Keira. He was soon asleep.*
