I sometimes wish Gaia had something for creating a survey, like a collection of polls and comment boxes, and those check-box, scale-rating things (like good to bad or 1 to 10). Ooh, I wonder if I can create one on another site, and then just use a link to it? Anyway, what does everyone think about some sort of survey? Might be a good way to get input from everyone about what they like, and what they want to see more of in the guild.

Those dates are preplanned only right before a Term begins. There's no set date for all the sortings we'll ever have. Adonis should be posting a timetable soon in the Entrance Hall.

Alas... my rambling has quite literally run away with me...
Hm, just reading the last couple of posts, I think a big issue that we as a guild have to contend with is that this Harry Potter mass mania that came with the movies starting and the rest of the books coming out has mellowed out immensely. There's still one movie left, but that excitement is pretty tame, I mean, we know what happens, so there's not really too much buzz that comes with it.
For me, I believe this is the third time I've become a member of this guild, the first being in something like 2005? In fact, I'm pretty sure I joined gaia just so I could be in this guild, I had a pet HP guild on a different site, but the owner left it without a word and it died cause we couldn't do anything without the authority. So my sister KTweirdchick, if any of you remember her, told me about it because it was around the time HBP was going to come out. So, um, the point that I'm trying to get to, but failing miserably at is that I've found that my urges to join this guild come in waves, tsunamis really, mainly I'll be reminded of how much I love the series by some random thing, I'll listen to the books, and then I'll miss the books so much, and want to relive things and immerse myself in the magical world. Let me just say, how commendable it is that this guild has carried on for SO long, it's really incredible.
I think what people really need is something to remind them of why they fell in love with the series in the first place. In the same way that just a whiff of a certain smell can bring about a rush of emotions and memories. Like a trigger kind of thing... Now I'm not sure what that is, or how we could use it, but... perhaps a discussion? What do you miss about Hogwarts? sweatdrop
Edit: Wow... I didn't even realize, Katie's the one who started this thread! xd

I thought I recognized the username xd Welcome back. Hmm, I see what you're saying about the fan-craze dying out a bit now that we know what happens. It'll probably die out even more after the second half of the 7th movie comes out (or rather, after it's been out for a month). The best place for a discussion about this and about what people miss about Hogwarts, the wizarding world, the books, the fan-craze, etc, would be Heard it in the Hallway. Why don't you start a topic there?

Some people will be warned others banned, either way they should be getting a PM about what is going on. Right now you can help us by keeping up your classes and being a Prefect.

James: Spring Cleaning has been dragging along because of me. It would've been finished by now, unfortunately I've had a series of misfortunate events (pun intended) happened that made performing my guild duties difficult. The entire Mod Squad is extremely busy...especially since only 4 of us are really helping. Please be more patient. We do appreciate you teaching two classes this term while we try to get the guild memberslist more organized.
As far as things going on: when Spring Term ends (June 3 is the last day for classes) right after that, everyone will go on the Hogwarts Express from June 3-June 11 (Going) and June 12-June 22 (Coming). There will also be some sort of sorting/unsorting/desorting process going on throughout this time. The Summer Event: Quidditch World Cup will hopefully begin July 1 and last until the middle/end of August. We will start taking volunteers/helpers/etc. to help set that event up as soon as we're done with the organizing of the guild memberslist. so if you're getting bored my suggestion would be maybe you can think of some really good riddles to use for the Beaters this year because Angil won't be able to do it. I think you'd be great for that.... and it'll save me (or any one else who sucks at thinking of riddles) a lot of headache.
The dates are all TENTATIVE because if the mods get unexpectedly busy things will have to be pushed back. Sorry but unfortunately we all have other priorities outside of Gaia. Of course Adonis will announce all this stuff when it becomes finalized.

I get the impression more and more lately that very few people in this guild even appreciate the hardwork/dedication that the mods actually put in this guild. Very rarely do we get help (although I can name a few non-mods who are always willing to help when we ask ie The Queen Lana, DownAzzLette, etc.), very rarely are people donating prizes, giving ideas/feedback (especially when we ask for it), and I could keep going on and on. If it wasn't 4am I probably would. The point is I'm so sick of people complaining thru PMs or side comments about how the guild is dead, how bored they are, etc. ESPECIALLY when they're not really doing anything to help out (no ideas, no feedback, nothing!). Heck I know Adonis has been asking people to fill our student positions up....but yet none of them are filled today. It used to be stressed a lot in this guild how every member has a voice and to USE it. That means you can take the initiative....and do something. You wouldn't be the first. Every single person/mod (past/present) was chosen because they showed initiative/dedication or something in the past. Every person who's a mod now was definitely doing things way before they even got their mod powers. Probably because instead of PMing complaints or posting whining posts, they were PMing saying things like 'hey this hasn't been done in awhile, would you like me to do it? I can do it if you show me!'
The only time we actually get compliments is via join requests from people who aren't even in our guild who can't know what its like to have those events planned thoroughly, win prizes and stuff in our guild events because they have yet joined. That's not to mention the other areas of the guild.
People are always saying how they love this guild but if only four or five people are going to try to keep it afloat then it won't last much longer (or it would continue to get harder to keep afloat). You guys need to pitch in more. It's definitely becoming more and more stressful to keep this guild going.... and it shouldn't be that way. It wasn't that way before... Yes the Mods are here to show leadership, but the members should be here to give us all a HAND.
this is such a rant and although I was a bit angry writing it, hopefully my point gets across. apologies for the rudeness.
