Typhoon_Omi Nightsnow Urk. +_+ That's why I tried grabbing hold of your wrist, to immobilize your hand so it "won't" cut my head off. I had the urge to shatter my katana through an arcane means, decreasing the length of it before ramming it straight at your heart, but thinking about the armor.... And then how there might be armor at your neck too......
o.o;
Darn. gonk But very well - we shall go for a more 'interesting' round then. I'll use my other katana for this round - two sworded combat style, coming right up! whee Nnn, aye aye, I could see where that'd work.. But, there were things I could've done there which I didn't meself'. domokun
Regardless, aye. Two katana, eh? I think I've got an interesting means of matching that, though I'll leave that until my next post. Tired right now, kinda out of it. XD; But! Post'll come little later on, likely. I'm going to try out some new moves which I dare not try for a long time...because it's so easy to dodge it. domokun In my standards, that is. But still! You're going to be my puppet to manipulate around a bit with the ideas... 4laugh *evil grin*
And nice comeback with a flame blade. I always hated flame users - they tend to look down on people who use water and ice... domokun biggrin omonizes the Toad of Ebilness:

And, I don't look down on people whom use water & ice.. I just love fighting them. domokun The very nature of my attacks are more than just "creating fire"; fact, I'd say without trying to brag, I'm probably one of the worst opponents possible for someone whom solely utilizes ice, water, or.. if it gets to it, blood.
Although, I have to give Lazenca some credit for [by fate] having a counter to that.. still, that was the first and only time I've seen someone with a pliable countuh'. ANYWHO! Posting in a biiit. :Flex:

Vintrict GTB is going to be so badass once the tournament is over. My mind is just filled with ideas. Yea. 5 years from now, when it's all done. The next 10 year tournament can be supremely badass. Especially when you don't have 10 characters from the same person in the same bracket. Can't believe this thing is even still going on. It basically just degenerated into a e-nis match.

Psychofish ...why are they letting her get a position in the Triad again? But, yeah... I need to post for my match here soon. And nobody wants to repeat what Vahn or I did in FFA round 3. Everyone just thinks of Vipers fight because Vahn whined louder than I... wait, I just grumbled a little and got on with it. That's right. Lol, whu? I whined about what? I made sarcastic remarks about my opponent, which I do about everyone, and then Viper started the whole argument about who hits the ground first. According to science, I fell last.

Vintrict When this does start over, we can probably make a biannual tournament thingy. Similar to the HoH but completely different. And as a request, I will like to be a part in creating this new GTB. This could be fun in a drawing people from Gaia to come and participate in fun fighting events for prizes. I'm sure Lone Hand would want this. Sounds nice, but Clash already said that GTB couldn't live up to what HoH is. He had quite a lot of fun in this year's tournament. As it is, the rules are way too lax, allowing power sets of all kinds to be used in this thing-- which is the problem to begin with.

I know, Vahn, which is the first thing I'm going to fixed: rules and the character's limits. We're going to expand this place into something more than just some place for a tournament. I plan to make it into a fighter's paradise. A fighter's amusement park, to say the least. Similar to Riddle's Battle Arena, but more organized and fun. It'll take some planning, but it will work.

Vincent. V Ex-~ I wouldn't want to, for sake of example have to run through people like Ertai/Tacitus/Gelmax/Viper/Vahn/Otherpeoplewithtoughcharacters in an attempt to win this thing only to have it close down on the home-stretch, share of gold or not. Lol, how the hell did I end up in that group.

Vincent. V Ex-~ HoH failed to appeal to me on the potential section for the very reason Omi stated, on the limited potential of powers. Though with the arguing I'll have to go read over it again to be sure, I took it the same way Omi did at first. I didn't particularly like it in that regard because my characters powers are applied and used in different ways as per the situation they're put in. I heavily dislike move-lists for the reason there isn't much flexibility if you're forced to work by them. I don't want to say, get put in another situation where I'm fighting someone who plays with flames and not be able to alter the air with my wind elemental and cause some explosions because my move-list doesn't say I can. Though I'm not entering unfortunately damn my biology and psychology exams. Looks like an appealing tournament regardless, despite my ramble/rants. I think there's just been some general misinterpretation for the most part. People think they ahve to have 'move-lists' or whatever, but I mean... if you put down that your abilitiy is 'wind-based, or that you control the element of wind, etc... then it stands to reason you can do whatever the hell it is one can do with wind. Be it flying, creatings gusts, maybe a tornado or someting, or air blades, etc. I'm not gonna be listing the varying degrees of fireballs or something that Vahn can do. It's just silly. The people in charge just want to know what your character can do, so if a problem arises, they can look at your bio/app and see that your able to do such and such, and it's valid. For example... your a swordsman. If you pull out a gun in the middle of the fight, obviously it's gonna raise a few eyebrows. Especially if you never said you carried a gun to begin with. An extreme example, but I hope it helps.

Typhoon_Omi HOH - GTB ----------------------------- Activity: [X] [ ] Interactivity: [X] [ ] Balance: [X] [ ] Diversity: [ ] [X] Type: Teams versus Solo. Character Development: While whole-heartedly possible, due to the fact that teams have to be factored into at HoH & two postees can't just go "Well, I guess we can do this for our match.." because there's more than just two folks' having to agree - plot development wise for a character, GTB has just a little more potential. Management Activity: Eh. Clash gave up his role of iron-clad leader perse', rarely see Anonymoo around OOC, and Jello, rather than try to support GTB or improve on it or, Hell, try to spark some interest here - you just give not-so-subliminal advertisements to HoH & proclaim it better every other post. HoH, on the other hand, is active in staff, though so was GTB at a time. Advantage: Null. Structure: HoH is a little more confined on characters in terms that, you can't have abilities/techniques that are multi-potent. [I.E. A guy can't have the ability to form undefined ice structure & apply said element of 'freezing' to other attacks. It has to be a defined ability, I.E. "Ice Ball" or something like that.] Makes it so people can't pull things out of their asses on character skills, but it also can semi-kill originality on "ability" usage. Advantage: GTB. Activity: Hoh >>> GTB horridly. Spectating's more rare here at GTB than I care for, and the non-match topics often die off near instantly. Where as, HoH suffers no such issues and, teams being involved, obviously has more people interacting per topic.
All in all: I personally, reading over HoH, find GTB more potentially entertaining, but on the road it's on.. HoH has a definite set of advantages & superiority. Al-halthough, I just hope it doesn't lose that 'spark' of activity.
Still, if given the choice again, I'd probably take GTB over HoH. Although GTB is a hollow shell of what it's former-self promised..
My opinions. domokun And dammit, Gunz. You can only improve upon something when you have the motivation, support and 'technology' to do so. Basically, HoH can't become 'diversified'. if everyone snubs their nose at it like you do. As for plot development, this year's tournament certaintly had a lot of it, thanks to the addition of two new threads for Rping in outside of tournament matches. As for "snotty" judges, we did our best to outsource the judges, so no one could cry foul. We had two realists and 1 Ice queen. I think it balanced itself out, although we did get in an auxilary judge towards the last minute, JB is an awesome fellow. HoH '08 is going to be even better as we fix up several rulings, introduce new elements, and the such.

Typhoon_Omi I know. I lump that in with the "pulling things out of your a**" block. But.. I fail to see how that deals with the 'never ending stamina' problem in matches. Or the 'I never take a hit.' problem. That's what the Judges and the pointing system are for. They read every fight for a reason after all.

Shouyin GOD DAMN IT!
I got pretty far spamming Helm Breaker, but it still wasn't the best. However, spamming Revolver on Agri and fighting Super Rudra blows.
I HATE THIS GAME, YET I LOVE IT. I TOLD you what to do many times, lol. I'll probaly have to show you in person next time I'm up there.

Shouyin Hey TACITUS, I would enjoy it if, instead of fighting with science (blanket term for nonsense I'll have to Wiki), we fought with hands and feet, because I'm good at that. Not a demand or requirement, because obviously, depending on your character's stature, it just might not be feasible, but merely a request, 'cause fights focused solely on powers or meta/superhuman abilities just aren't -that- fun for me anymore.
'Course this is all about achieving equal enjoyment for both parties, so whatever, I'll do my best to cut you in half while you take apart my molecules or whatever your Doctor Doom guy does. There isn't enough leeway in Shou's abilities to match you top-tiered power fellows a la Vahn vs. Viper, but hopefully I can take down at least one of your characters, if only to fight another one of them in the next round and whatnot.
Erm, so yeah, regardless of your response... best o' luck? Shhhh, that's their one weakness, lol. Most guys rely too heavily on just basic POWER, and hardly know enough actual hand to hand skill. Also, the thing with Viper still makes me laugh, in a morbid sort of way. We both chased each other away from fighting apparently.
