____☾ When the finger points to the yonder мσση ☽_←━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━ ━ ━ ⊱ ✩⊰ ╜ Durithill's plans of rest were ruined almost immediately as the building they were in suddenly burst into flames. "Nevermind." Durithill grumbled, slightly annoyed as the flickering flames danced around them. On the plus side though, his book suddenly appeared in Melody's hands: unharmed, save for a little ash that dirtied its cover. What Durithill knew that Amaranth obviously didn't was that this wasn't any mundane spellbook. It was an ancient artifact left over for days no longer remembered, and even though it was extremely hard to destroy it returned to its last master whenever it felt threatened. Brefily Durithill took back control of Melody's body to pocket the book.
The inn keeper at this point was nearly having a heart attack from fear and surprise. A woman suddenly teleports into the middle of his lobby, and then sudden the whole building lit on fire. Durithill ignored his shouts and quickly drained his life force, using it to cast a spell to protect Melody (and therefore himself) from the flames. "Let's get out of here. I should have known better than to ask an angel to help." Durithill said to Melody as he relinquished her body again. The inn keeper, like the soldiers, was still barely alive, just unconsious on the floor of the burning building.LOLTHERENEEDSTOBELOTSOFSPACEHERE...LOTSANDLOTSOFSPACEMMKAY?<333333...MAYBEMORESPACE☆✰★ Theƒσσℓ will look at the fingertip ✩

She run over the inn keeper and dragged him out slowly, he was heavy and she didnt have much powers as she had under the water."I thought you were good person for a second.." she wishpered more to herself.

Amaranth knew she couldn't possibly save all the people there. She was no miracle worker. And they don't seem to be dead so they probably have a chance. Thankfully the marking on that book would slowly leave a neat hole in the middle of all the more major spells, rendering anyone who holds it only capable of casting basic spells that even a ten year old could cast with proper training. What countered black was white. That marking had been there for well over a month. Anything too disasterous was already illegible in the book. She didn't care now if it or Durithill survived. She had successfully dealt with the more troublesome pages of his precious book. "Come on Durrahn...I need to hide you okay?" She pulled on the shadow creature's arm and tried to get her somewhere safe. She wasn't affected by what affected the others because of Rachel's protection.
(I need to wait for Estu, guys. And who are you talking about when she said 'I thought you were a good person for a second'?)

____☾ When the finger points to the yonder мσση ☽_←━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━ ━ ━ ⊱ ✩⊰ ╜ ((Alright. I've got a class now for a bit anyway.))
"To save us, that's why." Durithill replied simply to Melody. If he hadn't drained the man's life force, the two of them would probably have been burned to death in the flames of the inn. He didn't care whether Melody thought he was a good person or not, so her comment went largly unnoticed by him. Instead he just watched out of Melody's peripheral vision for any sign of being attacked by Amaranth again, although he doubted it since she probably underestimated him once again and assumed that the flames had consumed him as they were consuming inn.
Something caught his attention though, and he used Melody's sense to confirm that there was a second flame in the city. Something was happening by entrance, and it didn't look good. "It looks almost like Belkan is under siege." Durithill mentioned suddenly to Melody, trying to get a better view of the scene without taking Melody over again. "I took the soldiers down before in order to escape. You know how to fight? 'Cause you're going to learn real fast. Head towards the action, then give me control of your body for a bit. With any of luck, they'll be plenty of ones for me to have over there."LOLTHERENEEDSTOBELOTSOFSPACEHERE...LOTSANDLOTSOFSPACEMMKAY?<333333...MAYBEMORESPACE☆✰★ Theƒσσℓ will look at the fingertip ✩

"F..fight?" Melody asked slowly and trying to clean her clothes at last by a little from the fire dust "I dont wanna fight anyone!" she said stobburnly and chacked the inn keeper to see if he was alive. She sighed of relief when she heard him breathing, she rushed to take her flute out and held it with her both hands, then lifted it toward the inn keeper,"please.." the flue started to shine a soft purple light that healed the inn keeper.

____☾ When the finger points to the yonder мσση ☽_←━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━ ━ ━ ⊱ ✩⊰ ╜ "Then I'll do all the fighting." Durithill replied with an annoyed sound as he continued watching Melody's peropherals. From what he could tell, it looked like the attackers were approaching from Expansia, which was good new. Engaging an army in a wide open area was good for a caster because they didn't have to worry about aiming their spells around corners or figure out how big a fireball would expand in a tunnel and things like that. Once they got out there, Durithill could drain some more life force from the enemy, then begin unleashing hell upon them. Quite literally, even. If he drained enough energy, he could probably raise a small army of the damned, but he wasn't counting on it.
Of course none of that would matter if they didn't get to the battlefield, which was what they needed to be doing right now. "Those men I drained earlier to get us out? They were Belkan soldiers." Durithill explained quickly in Melody's mind. "Meaning the city's defenses have been crippled. The scales need to be evened, and in the process I can get a new body and leave you. Sounds like a win-win situation, don't you think? Just give me control of your body, and I'll take care of everything."LOLTHERENEEDSTOBELOTSOFSPACEHERE...LOTSANDLOTSOFSPACEMMKAY?<333333...MAYBEMORESPACE☆✰★ Theƒσσℓ will look at the fingertip ✩

(Nothing wrong, just letting you know. The infected all have no useable life force and since they are infected, if you kill one and have your character try and take it over then he will be infected as well, and basically die. I'm just letting you know before complications start. Anyways, gone to bed)

((The virus itself is alive though and therefore has a life force, even if it's small, correct? And once the body dies, the virus wouldn't have a host anymore and would also die, so possessing it would be harmless, wouldn't it?))

Melody still didnt get it "But why to fight??" she asked innocenttly, she noticed the inn keeper got into a shock as he saw his livelihood burning infront of him. "Please chill down!" she said , but it didnt help. Melody sighed and looked at the fire. "I'll do it.." she thought to herself and got up on her legs while looking at the fire , she got her flute to her mouth and started to play beautifull sound. The melody she played sound a little like water, claming water. Slowly the fire started to go out.

((Ehh, this is what happens when you try to apply real-world mechanics to fantasy, lol. Depends how they're raised. Like if it was purely magic, then definately not. But if they're rasied by a virus then the zombie themselves are not, but the virus would be, because the virus is still a life-form, ya know? Oh, and I'm not trying to argue to be a pain, 'cause if he can't drain them he can just drain the grass and bunny rabbits and whatnot. So it's more just making sure of the mechanics.))

(I'm thinking now that if he took the life force of the virus then your character could get infected as well. And Expansia Field is a snowfield. And there's a lot of people going about. There's no life to take but theirs, since animals should flee from sound like that and there's no plantlife)

((I can understand him getting infected if he took the body of one of the infected, but draining life force wouldn't transfer the virus to him (or Melody in this case)? Granted it wouldn't be very much energy at all in the first place since it is a virus and not an incredibly complicated being like a human. Maybe enough for a basic spell or two in the case of an emergency. My thinking is that if he drained it completely though it would kill the virus in that host and make the body hospitable so he can enter it (and unknown to him be cursed again). If not, he can always just grab a sword and start hacking at people. Oh, in a similar vein, if he turned back to a wolf and, say, used his teeth to rip chunks out of people, wouldn't the infection get him whether he actually consumed something or not? Or would it only get him if he actually swallowed the blood/flesh?))

(It spreads through contact. If your character bit or even brushed one of the infected then it's possible that he will be infected too. I'm too tired right now to keep up with this argument. I'll be more sympathetic once I get a coma session in. So for now, I'll say 'do what you like, but please don't suddenly appear in the battlefield, slaughter everything in sight singlehandedly, and go off like nothing happened'. That was my best attempt at being reasonable in my current condition. Sound good?)
