"they are fine."
Malik didn't even turn from the sand he was watching.
"aggression is not in her. it's been beaten out of her I imagine. Though I think Kanzec will be more surprised at her willingness to interact than to consider it an attack."
Hunter smirked.
"I've been doing 'right' by you this trip. I understand you've adapted well to your condition, but you're not on solid land, and things are different. but everytime I try to bring that up, you get aggressive and moody rather than to simply take it for what it is, a captain taking care of his crew."
glancing at her.
"Your father understands. he knew to follow my orders and adjust accordingly because this is a ship and I know this world better than he does. why is that so overly difficult for you? to accept someone else having command, even when they obviously are more familiar with the workings of the places your going?"
Des was sleeping on Gem's bed now, feet adn tail dangling to teh floor, one arm across her chest, the other arm splayed out with a empty rum bottle in it.

Red flared in golden eyes as she took a completely unexpected turn and attacked him, breaking his flight path and pushing him to plummet downwards into the soft sands as she landed onto of him, her weight nearly crushing. There was only one way he knew how to deal with it and his tattoos began to emit their soft glow as he prepared to change forms until she spoke again and touched him, obviously as gently as she could in that form. The frown on his face deepened but his eyes followed her movements. Tail and wings were dragon, yes... Hands and chest, human? Human-like. She thought he was a hybrid of the two or something.
Letting out a breath, he let his body relax somewhat before pushing against her lightly to let her know he wanted to move. "Charir, darastrix munthrek jaka." Slipping out from her, he moved further away before closing his eyes and letting himself morph into natural form, settling onto the sands and blinking at her. Communication purposes only, as soon as she understood he would have to change back. "Thirku. Charir, darastrix ergriff jaka."

"Understandable. As for what I manage to do...well call it clumsy nature and then you can tell your people of such wonders here. I dare say that I am flattered in a sense, even if I shouldn't be." Giving a chuckle of sorts, flicking her tail lightly. "What other kinds of things are here that you don't have where you come from. Are there many?"
Her hand tightened into a fist at her side, but she gave no other outward sign of her annoyance. "Perhaps you do not understand that it is not your command that gets to me, but in the way you wield it. I care not if you know better than I out here, in fact I expect it...however there is no need for you to lord over the likes of me with that knowledge. You may know more, but that does not make me inferior to you."
"Baby in mind, not baby in body though. When he's in that semi form I imagine he can take quite a beating too...something that needs to be careful about. But if she wasn't playing she would of maimed him by now." Turning a look over to his father once more. "I don't necessarily think that beating and the like is a mode of control. She would flinch when one raised a hand to her. But you know, I'm an optimist."
Gem stood in her doorway, arms crossed. She could pull out her gun and shoot the creature...or she could be more civil and go get Thobias to handle it further before she made herself a new pair of dragon scale boots. Those would look lovely in that bronze color now wouldn't they? Hm...could always tie her up...she looked drunk. But it could be a trap.
She seemed rather ignorant to his defensive measures, obviously not recognizing such motions and the like as threats. Even in the camps, the dragons didn't fight among themselves. But she did step back away from him at his pushing, that an old recognized Rider gesture for her to back up. Sky tilted her head, obviously trying to process the little words that she could give and take in her limited understanding. A c**k of her head to the side as he moved away, and a slightly startled jump as he shifted form. Yeah she had seen it before with the other, but she didn't really expect it. And well...he was a lot bigger than the other and made her look like a little dragon ant. "Thirku." Titling her head as if trying to look at herself and waiting for something to happen, but nothing seemed to be. Getting herself up she padded over to...and duly climbed on him like a child would, inspecting him and apaprently trying to figure out what this was all about. "Aussir voran. Sky voran?"

He watched her closely, wondering if she would understand that concept. Seemingly she did. Because she repeated the word for change, just like she'd done earlier with "human". Nodding, he was about to transform back, but the feeling of little paws and her snout brushing against his scales stopped him. What was this? What was she trying to do? If she wanted him to demonstrate again, she wouldn't have approached him. Blinking at her question though, he wanted to nod and shake his head at the same time though character rigidity wouldn't allow him to be so self-contradicting. "Sky voran. Persvek wer papref." He didn't know what to do, mentally stuck. There was no way of explaining to her how to do something so second nature to him. He didn't even remember how he'd been taught himself... "Sky vucot. Charir vur Aussir teach."

"Yes but I worry. I can't help it." Leaning on the rail and watching the two dragons for a moment before a full grown, wicked looking red one shortly took it's place. "He changed and now she's...climbing on him. That's so...cute." Those three dragons...forming a familial bond almost it seemed. Well, would be except Jae was currently out of the picture. She watched closely to see what Sky was going to do. "She's utterly fascinated by this whole thing, isn't she? And so little. I never realized how tiny she was until Kaznec changed."
Thobias sat on a barrel, whittling. It was an old pasttime of his, something to do when the days at sandsea got long and he felt frisky or adventurous but there was nothing really to do. Currently he was putting the detail on a piece that he'd been working on for some time. A few more flyaway curls, a sparkle in her eye and there would be his Gem.
"Not that much, really. We have the same sort of things just not in the same context. On our plane it does not rain the way it does here. Instead, we have fountains high on the Goddess hill. When the fountains bubble over, more water flows to the plane but it never falls from the sky. Our sky changes constantly, rivaling anything like the sunset or sunrise here and we don't have quite the manner of wildlife as you do. We don't use fire either. Instead pure energy fans our flames and our temperature alternates between warm days and slightly cooler nights. The one human who ever had the pleasure of seeing our plane, called it paradise."

"Well we all worry, she's new to being free from control of the riders so what she sees and hears will affect her and everyone will be guess what she is thinking until she speaks human." Did he take an interest in this dragon? Yes, he didn't like the riders so seeing this one free and getting help was a good thing. If he could help the blue one in any way he would. "Almost like she wants a ride really." It was cute, no one could say other wise. But he chuckled at Shyrae's observation. "Yeah she's pretty small, and she has many years ahead of herself now that she is free. Though I wonder how Kaz is taking this, must be funny to have a tiny dragon on one's back."

She make a happy little purr noise that female dragons seemed to be fond of making before she hopped off of him and came to stand in front on him again, craning her head up to look at him once more, tail more or less wagging behind her. Another little pounce at him, hitting the sand before him and then she gave a flap and a jump up into the air again with her. Almost gently she landed on his horns, the size difference making him an easy perch. Apparently she was satisfied with those answers. Another draconic call to him, telling him he better catch up or get left behind and she took to the air once more.
He watched rather fascinated like as Kaznec changed and the little one inspected. Obviously this was something that wasn't normal for her and she was enjoying her though proceses. A smile as the little one made a perch and then went back to the air. "Aw, she likes him. See that? I don't think there's any need for worry. Most dragons tend to not be too confrontational after all. At least the intelligent ones."
She listened entracnced, surely something she was going to have to tell to Kaznec later since he was missing out on this enlightining conversation and he loved to learn about the Laerethe. "It sounds like an absolutely wonderful place. Beautiful if anything. Our plane may not seem so grand, but I enjoy the steadiness of it all. But it does sound like paradise and I bet that human died happy at seeing such a sight. Though as beautiful as it may be...I think I enjoy the fluxing way that this plane has and the unpredictible nature. Sometimes a sudden shower is wonderful to have, or to be able to cuddle up to someone because you're cold."

Shyrae laughed as well and nodded, "They do seem to be getting along quite well, don't they? This is good for her to see that they are just like she is even though she doesn't quite know how to change." She watched Sky jump and paw and mess around with Kaznec much like a small dragon might do to her father then take back to the skies. "And if I know dragons, there was just a challenge issued there."
"It is but it does have it's downfall in that there is no unpredictability and no changes unless the Goddess allows. Many of my kind do not understand suffering and death and so the choices that they have made in the past were not always bearing all things in mind. We are called wise and yet we have unleashed things upon this plane that should never have been. We are called sentient beings, yet we know so little of what humans do. You are right to love your plane, Jaebelltiah. It is a masterpiece of its own design and there can be majesty in the chaos of it all."

"It's good to know that she is happy, poor little one probably was never shown much affection." Still he laughed as the dragon jumped around Kaz, even going as far as to sit on his horns somewhat. "He's like a big couch for her to roam over." Though he raised an eyebrow as the blue one took to the sky and he looked to wards Kaz. "He'll probably follow her, unless he has to switch back or something." A small shrug before he looked back at Sky again and stared at her for a moment. "I think one day she'll either figure it out herself or Kaz and Jae will teach her somehow. It'll be nice to have her in her human form."

That noise meant positive things, he knew that much. Couldn't pinpoint exactly where he'd heard it last or who had made it, but it was good. So that was it then? No more questions? He blinked down at her from his height before turning his head slightly to the side as sand was playfully flicked at him. Was this learning through play? He nodded mentally to himself, that must be it. He glanced up as she took to the skies once more and took a moment to change back into the neutral form before joining her, scoping the sandseas in front of them as he soared on a particularly strong current of warm air. So perhaps he wasn't useless in the ways of teaching after all...

And he was little again...and she was the bigger one. There was something about that that she enjoyed. Gave her a sense of having the upper hand...which was odd because being around Riders all the time, she was bigger than them constantly. A concept that had never entered her mind before and now it was. Thusly she turned it into a game of following him around, nipping at his wings and tail, but never catching either. Apparently she had the mind about her to at least be gentle with him and not hurt him.
"Something of the sorts. At least she's comfortable around them and doesn't cower. Right? That would make things difficult all around. Well...I haven't seen her any magic yet, and it seems those changes they conduct through thier natural magics. Maybe they'll just surface one day and her body will naturally teach her how to do things. A little positive reinforcement would probably help too. Give her treats and what not."
"There is at least the safety of knowing nothing every really changes though." But a blink at some of the information. "The Laerehte don't die? Are you all immortal or simple time suspended where you are from?" One of those truly odd questions. "Well...by the time that you have to go home, I do hope that you experience all the unpredicatible things there are to see about this plane, and never forget any of it."

To him, she'd already grasped the concept of consistency rather well. He was still himself, still Kaz, no matter which of his two forms he was in. She understood that since she hadn't been afraid to approach him when he was in either and was actually trying to engage him in "playing" right now. The nipping was light and only felt as gentle pressure, not enough to sway his course or to stop him from flapping his wings in order stay in the air. A reserved smile appeared on his face at this new activity of sorts and he reached out a hand to give her a pat on the head, which turned into a stroke down the side of her neck as she zoomed around him to his other side once again. Strange emotion he was feeling... Accomplishment? Pride? What?

Another one of those noises that was purr like at the petting before she continued in her own play with him, nipping and following flight patterns...till she decided that she was going to take things into her own claws, quite literally. A quick fold of wings to put on a burst of speed and she grabbed him in her foreclaws and more or less forced him to fold his wings and held him like that, spirling down from the air and landing on the railing of the Chimera, still holding onto him but gently. A nuzzle to his horns and a noise. It was almost like a child holding a stuffed animal. Apparently, he was hers right now.

"Right. She hasn't cowered much since her Rider died." Watching the play go on for a while and then shaking her head. "She's quite the energetic one. I might have to take Spyrit and fly with her a few times just to keep her playful side content." It was a little daunting to know that Kaznec had probably taught her more in that little space of time they'd spent together than Shyrae could teach her in a month's time. There was something special about being the same race. "I don't want to confuse her into thinking she's a pet though. She's not, but I'm not sure she's made that distinction yet." Giving a laugh at Kaz's predicament. "If you ask nicely, I'm sure she'll let you go, Kaznec."
"It's a little more complicated than us just not dying. We are not immortal, nor are we invincible. We can bleed, we can get hurt and we can in a sense die. We call it going to be with the Goddess. Inside each of us is a soul. Humans have no control over theirs but the Laerethe do. When we feel the Goddess calling us to be with her, we willingly relinquish our souls to begin the journey. It is up to us when we choose to go and there are some that have yet to feel the call or have felt it but have not hailed it. Our bodies do not decompose the way yours do either. It's one of those...complicated things. We do bury our dead, but with joy, not sorrow, for we know we will be seeing them again when our name is called."
Pausing a moment. "There are many things that I wish I could explain to you but have not the words or ability to do so. I am far more literal. Rahsaveer is the creatively poetic one. He has composed beautiful sonnets and songs as ode both to the Goddess and the plane. He would be able to answer your questions far better than I, I think." She glanced around at the shining sun and sparkling sand and all the good that was on this plane and nodded, ears perking at the sound of dragons in the air. "I hope that as well. I still have much to learn but each of you are slowly teaching me. I can only believe that it will go on for many more lessons and perhaps you can answer some of my questions as well. Do you fear death?"

"Well I hope she can stay amused, I wonder what will happen if she gets bored." A light chuckle before he nodded to Shyrae, he agreed with her on the whole pet thing. "If she's gonna have a individual mind then really she can't be treat like a pet but more like a friend. She needs to come out of her known status as just a dragon who is there to be ridden and know that she is a more intelligent being." A blink though at the sudden change of things and Kaz wound up on the deck of the Chimera, with a blue dragon being affectionate. "Now how about drawing that Dhairiss?" A little grin as he watched both dragons, it was a cute sight really.
