Dammit--!
Vahn was already decending when the monstrous thing leapt backwards, out of the mushrooming cloud of smoke and heat. Vahn's right arm was extended outwards, already going ahead and planning how to land back on the ground with breaking something.
"Tch!"
The crackling caught his attention out of the corner of his eye, staring with widening eyes even as the blast came towards him.
In mid-air there was no way he could dodge, let alone manuever fast enough to get out of the way.
At least not when he was falling in a nose dive. Had it been a controlled fall he could have at least---
"HUUARGH!!"
The familiar shock coursed through his body, even as he was hit. His eyes widened along with the scream that tore out of his throat, a bit of blood escaped his mouth even as his clothes smoked; once more free falling back down. Stray strands of electircy crackled off his body, as he would land into the ground with a crash.

Dear Var...please tell nobody of my stupidity... Oh hey, wyverns use fire, didn't you know? Uuuuh, really?? And no, I've never met one of them before, tssk..
Rather ungraceful, Lucind had darted to the left, when she was interrupted a second time before being able to use the 'coma'-melody, to avoid ending as Siren barbecue. She ran around the beast until she faced its damaged flank again and only then looked down her body: her trousers' right leg sported a big sooty spot and lifting the fabric revealed that the chosen level of her anti-heat shield wasn't high enough - first grade burns ran up her shin and outer calf. At least, most of the pain was blocked. Were there other ******** coat was singed at her right thigh - and a tiny flame greedily flickered along the seam, happily working its way up. Lucind rammed her blades into the ground and took off holster and coat faster than you can say "Fire is a no-no for Sirens". With stomping on the fabric a few times the woman suffocated(?) the flame but by then several holes adorned the garment. The Half-Siren muttered something and put on the holster on top of her dark-lilac sweatshirt and stuffed the wah sikeils back into their V-shaped quiver. Right then it occured to her why she'd suddenly started feeling sick: dragon or wyvern fire wasn't only hot. Her psionic system took care of the other usual side effects, yet.
In addition, one could see now that the woman also wore a belt holding six throwing knives, similar to the one she'd used during her fight against Sunstrike. Why should someone like her run around armed like that during the HoH finals? Simply because she wanted to be ready in case Vahn suddenly felt the urge to visit his brother - or vice versa.
In that moment, the noise from the next buildings left of her drew her attention. Damn...what a nasty spider thingie... Her look wandered back to the thrashing wyvern, then her eyes searched the ground for Vahn's sword. She didn't like the idea of leaving the wyvern in its agony...
The Half-Siren fetched her staff, dancing around beating wings and whipping tail and let it shrink to put the pearl in her leather gauntlet's holding - then walked over to where Vahn's weapon laid, always having an eye on the fight ahead. When the behemoth's last attack hit Vahn in midair, Lucind swore aloud, shouldered the sword and sneaked closer, hoping the man would stand up quickly after this heavy crash.
But how should she get Vahn's attention without alarming the behemoth? This thing worked with sound waves, too, it would most likely hear her even if she used the Siren's whisper-technique...

Somewhere, out in the ocean far from the docks, we find Silver's bike stranded on a tiny island with a single palm tree, barely big enough to fit it. God knows how he got out there...
"What the hell? Am I lost? It must be the curse of the Black Flame Fighter..."

Joseph Brown: Master of jumping to conclusions. With an apprenticeship in acting before thinking. At least that's what he thought to himself after the fact. He was just kind of standing there grinning now, holding his ornate revolver steady in one hand while the other propped the shotgun against his shoulder. It was like he was in an action movie. "Chill." He said almost like a catch phrase from one of those movies. Moments earlier he had arrived on the scene only to see a wounded dragon thing spewing fire all over the damn place. Now, he had guess that this thingy was much like the ones in the sky: Bad. And he had also guessed that the woman running out of the way was like him: Awesome. Or defending the town, they both worked. It was even easier to see that he had a range advantage right now, he was both out of the way of scalding blood and fire. The shotgun wasn't an option. When you're dealing with magical beasts you have to pull out all the stops. Thus, that was his reasoning to shooting three high powered bullets into the creature. Though I have to digress again, he wanted to make sure that these bullets did something even if the creature was heavily armoured. See the moment he said the word chill the bullets burst into three small circles of runes. Using the bullets as a core the runes began to form large shards of ice, growing larger each second they tore through the air. With any luck, the now huge shards would put the beast out of its misery. Bringing us back to the current moment: Joseph standing there grinning. Runic Gunning "Chill" was discovered after watching the resident ice mage do her thing. The negative effect is one of the few words he has to say while the bullet is flying. It causes the bullet to slowly turn into an icicle, getting larger and larger as the bullet speeds through the air.

((*adds to list of things I knew would happen*
I'm perfectly willing to null the action if needed, but I've been constantly told that I can just "jump in where ever" with this attack.
If I caused any trouble, sorry. But until I find out one way or the other, gonna go with what I was told.
OOC away! *zooms out of the roleplay thread*))

((It's okay Lu, although an intro that he was around would have been nice >_O;; Oh!~ And there is still the matter of the wyvern that crashed into the outer city wall for anyone who's up to taking on a more mobile challenge 3nodding ))
*As the wyvern thrashed, she quickly expended more of her energy, her heart racing, the blood flowed from her wounded body. She was beginning to get slow in her movements... her core temperature was dropping rapidly as she lacked the strength to thermal-regulate her body temerature.
She could no longer hear, but the 'sense' of another being and the woman running around caused her to spout flame in various directions.
The rune-engaged bullets, just happened to be in one of those fiery blasts paths. Two of the projectiles were caught in the inferno, one bullet melting entirely, the other worn down to a smaller chunk of ice that balled off the beasts scaly body.
The icy bullet that the wyvern's flames missed however... bore down on the now blind and deaf creature. Only knowing that something 'magical' was headed for her, the creature's wings thrummed in last minute panic as the massive ice shard struck her skull. Piercing her armoured hide and entering the front of her head, exiting the base on the other side.
A second death cry... The wyvern shrieked as her last breath exited her ruined form. Lucind would likely be safe as she had already engaged her psionic shields from the last two simillar crys... but what of Vahn and Jospeh?
The best slumped to the earth, injured limbs twitching as the body died.*

((I thought I already posted this but...oh well, guess I didn't))
-MEANWHILE-
The knife dug deep into Menos. Instead however of cringing in pain or dying, Menos looked down at the knife. No blood would run down the blade as he looked at it. After his glance, he would whip to the left, jerking the knife from the man's hand and moving away.
"Get off of me..."
He would say it coldly as he did his whipping motion, creating distance from him and the man. He would reach up moments later and pull out the knife from where it struck, dropping it to the ground with a large clang.
"It's hard to kill something that's already dead..."
He shot a look to the priest, then back to his assailant.
"Your not as fun to play with as I thought..."
He stepped backwards and faded, using the same black fading effect as before, melting into the ground of the bridge and out the bottom of the airship to begin a freefall down to earth.
Yes it was a long fall...would he make it?
Well he wouldn't die...

As the lightning struck its target, the behemoth would land on the ground a moment later. Perhaps Vahn was unconscious by now, perhaps not, like last time, but still, the behemoth would once again turn around to redirect its attention at Lucind and Joseph Brown, standing around on the beach as they finally dispatched of the wyvern.
Oh, and would you look at that; the lady grabbing a big sword.
Well, once again, the behemoth began to crackle with visible archs of electricity, jumping from one bone to another randomly, though it did not flow up its spine as if to spit. Rather, one could say it was 'charging up'. But to the simple eyes, it would just be painful to look at, as electricity flashed continueously, sort of like the kind of light that would give someone a seizure. Funness!
Now, the only thing to wonder about was, 'where was every other attacker at this time?'

((I would have liked a bit more of an entry post, too, Joseph, as Greeneyes is running after you...
...and please remind me what the hell a wyvern's screech does, now that Greeneyes is going to hear it?
Edit: Thanks, Lady Sierra. biggrin ))
And Greeneyes ran in upon the scene on Joseph's heels...again too late to do anything but shield her eyes from the flames of the creature.
Edit: But her eyes were soon forgotten as the creatures death wail pierced her ears. Again she doubled over, her hands not quick enough to shield her hearing. The world seemed to spin around her, and it seemed to her a terrible pounding grew in her head...the only sound in the world was that shriek, and it went on, and on, and on...

Lady Sierra *The first crashed into the burning wreckage of the ship, letting out a high pitched shriek. Such a sound capable of rupturing ear drums, especially those with sensative hearing... or causing temporary deafness. * ((There you go Owle-chan ^^;
It would cause dizzyness/disorientation and a piercing migraine on top of any hearing damage/loss))

A building stood, leaning to the side on another. A female figure was cleaning out her left ear with the same finger, her sandaled foot tapping against the warehouse's stone roof.
"This is taking too damn long!" Her voice hadn't any special quality; it wouldn't carry over others' screaming. In fact, unless the others happened to be able to hear or if there was a small lull in between the random sounds, then no others would be able to hear.
And if so? Who gave a damn? She smacked her teeth and pushed off the corner, shuffling her feet. She spoke much more quietly, as she was talking to herself this time.
"Are you going to make me come down and fight...?"

Joseph wasn't one of the lucky ones to have psychic shields. Hell, he wasn't even one of the lucky ones to have ear plugs. Needless to say both his guns clattered to the ground as hands shot to cover his ears. Not fast enough, and not nearly enough protection. Soon all he could hear was the scream, all he could feel was the pain in his head, and all he could wish for was another drink.
The scream ended but the pain didn't. Neither did the noise really, there still was a low ringing sound and the few noises he could hear were like they were underwater. Temporary deafness, great. He discovered the second side effect after he took a half step forward, only to trip over his own feet and stumble to the ground. This wasn't as good a plan as it seemed.
'Course when the construct was trying to add blindness to that list of handicaps. That wouldn't do. He quickly groped around for his smaller gun, the shotgun could stay. Was almost out of ammo anyway. Then he made a mad stumble, falling down, getting up, half tripping, round the corner of an alley. He'd firgure something out from there. Damnit, then he saw his ally.
"Greeneyes!" He yelled as loud as loud and flailed his arms as hard he could figuring she was deaf or near deaf too. Hopefully she would find cover also.
