Gust wasn't a particularly powerful move, so Ghos faired nicely against it, seeing as how he was unable to dodge it. "Lick, now," Leon said, hoping that Ghos would do a bit better in this battle than he had last time. So far, things seemed to be looking okay, but it was far too early in the battle to actually tell.

Ghos floated back over to the Beautifly, his mouth--which seemed to be set permanently in a grin--opened up so that he could stick his tongue out in an attempt to lick the side of Aerosmith's face roughly.

Aerosmith stared wearily at the thing that began to come at him. He was fairly glad that the attack had hit, but now it was time to get into some serious battle.

"Get out of range, Absorb," Jett called calmly, a ghost (hahaha, get it?) of a smile on his face. So Aerosmith began to drift back and float up, not exactly pleased with the fact that this opponent could fly (float?) too.

"Fly," he grunted, mouth unfurling to try and aim at the Gastly. Had he been successful in his attack, the Ghost would glow green before a series of orbs would zoom right to the Butterfly. Perfect timing, too, since he felt something since. The Burned status had worked it's magic once again.

Gastly was rather quick, though, and his tongue was surprisingly long, and thus he luckily still managed to land his attack. Shortly after backing up away from the Butterfly Pokémon, however, Ghos felt his energy being drained, and located greenish orbs that seemed to be coming from his body to be the cause.

"Ghos, use Lick again," Leon said, realising just how badly Ghos needed another offensive attack in his movepool. Though, now that he thought about it, he was bound to have one by now, wasn't he? He'd have to check up on his level with the PC later, but for now he'd just have to rely on Lick.

Aerosmith twitched, more concerned with the fact that the thing had licked him. However, that Absorb worked nicely, and he floated up. Another one of those moves? Aerosmith was not so happy about that.

"Aerosmith," Jett called, the passion of the battle burning deep inside him. "Let's take from their example! Absorb, again!"

Aerosmith somehow knew that dodging this would be a waste of time and energy, so he simply took the Lick and instantly attempted Absorb, casting his most menacing glare while doing so. It was so gross! This thing was--

"F-fly!" Aerosmith cried, feeling imaginary flames licking at him. He shook the pain off a moment later and came back to the battle, eager to see what had happened.

Unfortunately for the Beautifly, once it returned to its senses, Ghos would for some reason seem to be growing rather large. Now, this was simply a mirage, but how was the Butterfly Pokémon to know that? Ghos had been rather displeased at feeling his energy randomly drained again, and had felt something new inside of him that seemed like a good idea to let out. Leon was rather happy with this, as he recognised the attack--and familier with his Pokémon's overall movepools--and hoped that Ghos' newfound attack would be successful.

Aerosmith absorbed and absorbed and he was gonna win and ohgoditwasgrowing. He stared as the Gastly expanded and took the hit, spiralling back.

"...What." Jett didn't spare the thought for an infliction at the end of that statement. This was very concerning, the fact his opponent had a new move. And Aerosmith was clearly burned, which left them at a slight disadvantage.

Okay, a big one.

"Send it back! Gust!" Jett called, and Aerosmith reacted. His multi-colored wings flapped powerfully, sending a strong wind to hopefully knock that Ghost-type the heck away from him. It was beginning to unnerve the Buttefly Pokemon...

The Gust caught Ghos and sent him tumbling backwards. He tried to stop himself from spinning as the gas that made up most of his body floated back to him. The Ghost-type raised his gaze to Aerosmith and was pleased to see that he seemed to be a tad frightened by him at this point, which had ultimately been his goal all along. As Leon pondered his next command, Ghos took matters into his own hands (metaphorically speaking, of course; a ball of gas obviously did not have hands) and used a Spite attack, hoping to make this battle just a bit more difficult for Jett's Beautifly.

"Go for an Absorb!" Jett called, totally oblivious to anything happening. It was time to get on the offensive!

Aerosmith felt something happen, but he wasn't quite sure of what had occurred. He was glad that they were back to Absorb, so he could keep his health up. His mouth aimed at Ghos, trying to yet again collect some health.

As his attack was attempted, Aerosmith felt the flashing pain again, making his flying more labored. This didn't halt anything, but the damage being dealt to him was visible. The Bug/Flying-type braced through the pain and waited to see what would happen next.

"Hang in there, Aerosmith!" Jett called, taking a step forward. "You're a trooper! I know you're not gonna let some stupid burn get you down!" Aerosmith nodded warily and took a shuddering breath.

Leon was not happy that Ghos hadn't waited for a command from him, but it was just something he'd have to work on. He noticed that Ghos seemed to be drifting closer to the ground, and was moving noticeably slower as well. The battle was really taking a toll on him, and he was sure that the Gas Pokémon would not be able to last much longer.

Ghos had also noticed that the ground seemed to be closer every time he looked at it, and that it was getting harder and harder for him to pull himself back up away from it each time. He struggled to remain the air, the gas that made up his body beginning to float farther and farther away from him, making him more and more transparent.

Leon took out Ghos' PokéBall once again, preparing to return him and let Muuma handle the rest. He quickly exchanged the PokéBalls and soon Muuma was floating before him, ready to take on whatever Jett threw at her. "Astonish," Leon commanded, confident that this attack would easily take out the Beautifly.

Muuma let out an eerie cry as she charged at Aerosmith, eager to show Leon that she was his best Pokémon.

"Hey, is your Pokemon all right?" he asked, staring at the disappearing Gastly with great concern. Then his trainer just recalled him and ordered an Astonish. "Aerosmith! Get ready to go out with a bang!"

"Fly!" Aerosmith called, standing his ground. They both knew what move they should use. As Muuma approached, Aerosmith's mouth unfurled, attempting Absorb for the last time. Regardless of whether or not his attack hit, Muuma's Astonish would hit dead on, and he would let out one last "Beautifly!" before he fainted.

"Nice work," Jett said kindly as he recalled his Beautifly. He stared at Muuma, and tossed up River's Pokeball. "Double Team!" he called as River emerged, and she spun, creating precisely six copies of herself that scattered and landed.

Jett could only hope that this battle wouldn't end as quickly as the last one had.

Moti sat silently in his study sipping tea and reading over the notes on the next days operations. He took another sip and grimaced. “Yuck.” Yang snuck back into the room as Moti finished making faces.

’If you don’t like it, why do you drink it?’ Yang asked with a giggle.

“It makes me feel cultured…” Moti responded with a misty gaze, taking another sip, slightly gagging on the warm fluid. “Yup, that hits the spot! Ah, looks like the guest of honor has arrived!” The orange haired man exclaimed as he hastily set down his tea. “I’d offer you some tea, but I only made enough for myself. Plus I don’t think you’d like it anyhow.”

’Yeah, I’ll pass. So what’s the deal with this clandestine meeting?’ Kokoro said, straight to the point.

”I see, no idle chit-chatter with the protective volcano mouse.” Moti said with a wave of his hand while he turned back to his computer screen. “We’ve got a mission tomorrow and you and your partner have been assigned to be a part of it.” Moti pulled up a folder and set it down for Kokoro to pick up. “Well, actually, Claire is the entire reason for the mission. They want us to find more information about memory research in order to cure her of her illness. It’s really quite generous of the Boss to go to such trouble for her.”

’Generous? But that… that monster is the one that made Claire lose her memory in the first place!’ the Volcano Pokemon burst out. ’Oops!’ Kokoro squeaked, even if this Moti guy was nicer than the other Rockets she'd encountered thus far he was still a Rocket!

”Well, well.” Moti said, a gleam in his eye. “It seems like we’re of the same opinion then, and if we want to make it out of this, I’m going to need your help. Here's the plan...”

Though the Beautifly had fainted, the health he had absorbed had not completely been in vain, for it still meant that Muuma's health was down, albeit just a tiny bit. She was hardly bothered by the sudden appearance of seven new opponents, though that wasn't to say that she would enjoy having to find the real one, and deal with all of them appearing to attack her at once each time Jett issued a command for the real one.

"Psywave," Leon commanded her, pretty confident that even with the copies there to distract her, Muuma would be able to handle the Ralts. The Screech Pokémon focused on one of the seven River's that were on the opposite side of the field from her and let out a hot energy wave towards it, purely guessing and hoping that this one was the real River.

Jett noticed the slight irritation from both trainer and Pokemon, eliciting a small smile. "Confusion."

He had made no mention of the River aimed at to dodge, so she waited and took the hit, only to disappear. A white blur flickered from the Misdreavus' right, one of the six remaining Rivers sliding beneath the Ghost-type before she blasted the telekinetic wave.

Two Rivers were standing by on the left as River emerged, and now they mixed each other up before scattering as quickly as possible. Jett smiled, proud with his Pokemon's strategy. A tiny flicker of hope began to burn brightly in his eyes.

It hadn't occurred to Jake until he was holding the Pokeball at the ready how it was strange that he still remembered how to do this. More than that, it was eerily familiar, like he was sure he'd done this before and he bit his lower lip and watched in silence as the two Pokemon continued to fight it out before him. Turtwig seemed to have the upperhand, at least right now. "Go ahead and give her a Body Slam," the youth said finally, scratching his chin. Turtwig gave a nod and pawed the ground. He kind of wanted to end this already, especially since the female Bidoof was now throwing insults at him. He'd never even met his mother, as he'd hatched from an egg in the care of Professor Rowan and his assistants, but that didn't mean he appreciated the awful things being said about her. He broke into a flat-out run, quickly building up momentum as his feet carried him forward, and with a grunt he threw all his weight forward and into the Bidoof.

Jake watched the two Pokemon skid across the ground, taking a few steps forward as to keep them both in close range. He trusted in Turtwig so it was the Bidoof he was watching, and he was quite impressed to see the beaver Pokemon get back to her feet. She was visibly shaking now, and rightfully so, as she could easily tell that this Turtwig was more powerful than she was. For a moment she considered fleeing, but then she remembered the human's words about her species being weak and pathetic, and her eyes narrowed as her rage was renewed. White light trailed from behind her as she raced towards Turtwig, throwing herself into him with all her might. Again the two Pokemon went tumbling across the ground, and Jake shook his head. "That's it," he grumbled. "Turtwig, finish her off with an Absorb!"

Turtwig gave an affirmative cry, the two leaves atop his head already glowing with a healthy green aura. The rest of his body had started glowing green as well, and soon several small green orbs had been launched forward, each sinking into the Bidoof and disappearing for a split second before popping out again, and they quickly zoomed back to their owner. Bidoof gave a weak cry before falling onto her stomach. Even if she wanted to run away now, she didn't have the energy. She tried to growl menacingly but it only came out as a pathetic sounding squeak. Jake smirked and walked over to where she lay, one hand in his pocket, the other still holding tightly to the Pokeball. "Not so tough now, are you?" he asked coldly, glaring down at the brown Pokemon at his feet. She looked up at the human, mustering up just enough energy to shoot him a dirty look. The boy smirked and dropped the Pokeball onto her head, watching with indifference as she was pulled inside by a flash of red light.

Well, that was one clone down, but…that still left five more possible misses. And for each time Muuma missed, that was another hit that River could get on her. Though, that wasn't to say they only had to focus on one clone at a time. "Muuma, use Psywave, but try to hit more than one," Leon said, crossing his arms.

Muuma shot River a glare as she disappeared back into her group of clones, and although the attack had hurt, it hadn't seemed to significantly impair her. She sent out the wave of energy, but rotated so that it would hit three of the Rivers that she was facing. The attack obviously would not do as much damage even if it did hit the real River, however, as the attack was no longer focused solely on one target, and thus the power would be reduced.
