I feel bad for my science teacher, he looks like he just wants to give up with teaching this year's students. x_x I don't blame him. My class is bad. I Love Bad Puns I feel bad for my science teacher, he looks like he just wants to give up with teaching this year's students. x_x I don't blame him. My class is bad. Speaking as a former teacher may I make a suggestion? YOU be the one to change that. Smile. Be engaged. Ask questions. Find something, anything, that you like about the class…and say so. You'd be surprised how something as simple as that can make a teacher's day. See if you can enlist some of the other students in the class to act in a similar manner. Like a rock thrown into a pond, the ripples go out and bounce off of all kinds things augmenting and minimizing depending on the resistance of the object. Be the change.

See if you can enlist some of the other students in the class to act in a similar manner. Like a rock thrown into a pond, the ripples go out and bounce off of all kinds things augmenting and minimizing depending on the resistance of the object. Be the change.Well, a large part of the problem is that the kids who never talk but show up in class just plain refuse to do the work. There are some that do try to participate but some of them refuse to work too so they are failing too. (He's got the class set up by grade point average, the lowest scores have to sit up front.) The kids in the middle don't participate, they just sit and play games on the laptops. The kids in the back are always talking, but never about anything related to the class. They do the work and only participate when they know they can receive bonus points. A lot of the students in his classes, particularly mine, have been copying their work and plagiarizing the papers they have had to write. I'm stuck in the back and don't like it >_< I feel like the class would be much better if he could just kick out the students that are at least showing no signs of effort in the class. The class itself isn't a difficult subject, I just think a vast majority don't want to be there. sweatdrop

The class itself isn't a difficult subject, I just think a vast majority don't want to be there. sweatdrop Sounds to me like they shouldn't even be using the laptops if they're that bad. I've not let students use laptops before because of behavior, even if they're doing a project. Your teacher needs to stay on his/her toes and monitor them. Stand right behind 'em and clear his throat loudly. (I just did that on Monday XD scared the heck outta some poor 6th graders playing Flappy Bird) But yeah, you can also help make a difference. Even being a student who voices their annoyance with others behavior can sometimes be a help. While I've been subbing and kids are giving me a super hard time, I've had other students stand up and give their classmates a piece of their minds, or just yell at them to shut up because they're acting like idiots. See if maybe you can offer some help to the kids who are falling behind, too? Ask if they maybe need some help on homework, or ask questions in class if it looks like a lot of people are confused but don't want to say anything. I've done that before as a student - asked questions I really didn't need to. I've also been in the other guy's position - wanting to ask questions but not having the courage to, then someone else asks the same thing and I'm like PHEW THANK THE LORD SOMEONE ASKED THAT! XD I wish all the luck to your teacher~ And you, for putting up with what sounds like quite a... erm... wonderful... class. XD

As a former {SORT OF} educator {I helped teach some EMS and Fire classes} and a life long student, I agree with what the educators said about Pun's class!!!!! Engage the teacher!! Be the change you want to see in others!! The teacher needs to crack down on goofing off by those not participating in class!! Make the laptops off limits, unless the students are working well in class!! And CONGRATS to Vanilla!!!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin Scott ETA: Clicked the page!!!!!!
